I went to see The Inspiring and Emboldening Ms.@devita_davison speak. She brought me back to the bosom of Detroit. It’s people. It’s power. It’s genius. She made me long for Bettermade, Saunders, Conyeys, and Shatila’s the best Middle Eastern Bakery in our solar system. I have not thought so deeply about my 5 years there in a while. I was inspired to make Mrs. Mahalabia’s 30 hour lamb and all its trappings. 18hr Huon Lamb shoulders cooked in its own juices with cumin, garlic, sumac, smoked onions, and house seasoning. Served on local Turkish bread, house made yogurt cheese, Spinach, mint leaves, and a handful of home grown sweet bite tomatoes.
