With Thanksgiving being this week, we'd like to take a deeper look at what we're grateful for. There are so many things to choose from as God is good all the time. Today, we're grateful for the ability to help churches, schools, and non-profits reach their goals through fundraising. When organizations fundraise with us, that gives us the honor to be able to spread the word of God and give HOPE. 0k ok I know I post this verse A LOT….. It’s a verse I really try to focus on. If God made us to go out and tell people of his forgiveness and love then am I fulfilling his purpose for me? When I heard God calling to create Christian artwork, it was a bitter pill to swallow for me, I didn’t want to limit myself to just christian art. Little did I know Gods plan. This is good, borrowed, copied & shared via #solidjoys from #desiringgod Isaiah sees the day coming when all the nations — representatives from all the people groups — will no longer be at odds with Yahweh, the God of Israel and his Messiah, whom we know to be Jesus. They will no longer worship Bel or Nebo or Molech or Allah or Buddha or utopian social programs or capitalistic growth possibilities or ancestors or animistic spirits. Instead they will come in faith to the banquet on God’s mountain. And they will have the veil of sorrow removed and death shall be swallowed up and the reproach of God’s people will be removed and tears shall be gone forever. That’s the setting for understanding the vision of Isaiah 25:3, “Therefore strong peoples will glorify you; cities of ruthless nations will fear you.” In other words, God is stronger than the “strong people” and he is so powerful and so gracious that in the end he will turn ruthless nations to revere him. So, the picture Isaiah gives us is one of all nations turned to God in worship, a great banquet for all the peoples, the removal of all suffering and grief and reproach from the nations who have become his people, and the final putting away of death forever. This triumph is sure because God is doing it. Therefore, we can be certain of it. Not one life spent in the cause of world evangelization is spent in vain. Not one prayer or one dollar or one sermon or one letter of encouragement mailed or one little light shining in some dark place — nothing in the cause of the advancing kingdom is in vain. The triumph is sure. The tongue that brings healing is a tree of life, but a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit. —Proverbs 15:4 Thoughts on Today's Verse... Words are powerful. Communicators know this. Negotiators know this. Deep down, you know this. Words have blessed you and words have devastated you. The healing that comes from a kind and tender word is precious. The destruction of a cruel taunt or a well-told deception is crushing. To have such power is amazing. To use this awesome power found in our speech is an awesome responsibility. Words do have the power to give life, hope, and peace when offered in love to honor Jesus. Let's speak that word today! My Prayer... O Father, I want my words to be a blessing today. I want them to reflect your grace. I want them to bring healing to the hurting and comfort to the grieving. I want them to be tender with the broken. I want them to be honorable and truthful in difficult circumstances. I want them to be upright when the language around me is crude. Through your Spirit, use my speech to bless others and bring you praise. In the name of Jesus, your ultimate Word, I pray. Amen.
