WAS NOT EXPECTING SHADOW HEARTS: FROM THE NEW WORLD SLANDER TO BE A THING IN MY MORNING THIS FINE DAY

ok ok FtNW did have technical flaws but 1) I really did like it and wrote several questionable fanfics for it 2) I think I will always prefer it to Covenant on the basis of FtNW didn’t pull stupid ass retcons with previous villains or make anyone’s love interest their mom 3) Johnny was dumb but like.  in an earnest protagonist way.  if I didn’t like that I couldn’t like Bravely Default 4) it’s honestly kind of hilarious to see a post about a game over a decade old that’s not “I LOVED IT” or “WORST GAME EVER” but “eh it wasn’t good enough to keep my interest”

maybe the reason i like shadow hearts so much is bc nothing makes me want to draw and write and whatnot as much as it does, including the longass list of ocs i've had since i was 12. like it's been 3-4 years since i beat both games the first time around and i still have a sizable list of sh fanart i want to draw, and it like. gets longer all the time. meanwhile the game is like it ain't that deep hope you like tiddies

Digimon Adventure ZeroTwo: Sylphimon came from Gatomon- a female coded character, and Aquilamon- a male coded character who in the dub had a very deep voice. Sylphimon has an armoured masculine chest, but with relatively wide hips and shared both Gatomon and Aquilamon's voices overlapped. Digimon Tamers: I think I read this was dub-only, but during a dinner scene with Rika's mom and grandma, Renamon just straight up says Digimon have no gender and you can perceive them as whatever you want. Shadow Hearts Covenant: Much like the Sylphimon thing, Kurando is a male human character, but his demon transformation (Tsukiyomi) is technically a goddess, and has a distinctly feminine shape. compare this to pretty much everyone else with Demon transformations including Shania in FtNW and he's the only one who swaps between masculine and feminine. Kino's Journey: Kino is born a girl, and takes on the name Kino from another (male) traveler with that name. Her appearance changes from typical little girl with long hair in a pink dress, to the one she has throughout the story where she is at times perceived as a boy and doesn't correct anyone.

Obsessed with realizing all the non-binary references in all my old favourite media- back at a time when that wasn't even really a clearly labeled concept.

I’ve been sort of confused placing names to faces with Zestiria/Berseria, regarding Edna and Laphicet specifically, and I figured out why. I mean, I’ve already pointed it out before, but Laphicet looks like a boyhood version of Johnny Garland from Shadow Hearts: FtNW. In that same game, there is a character named Edna, too! And she looks nothing at all like Edna from Zestiria, but there’s another character, Hildegard Valentine, who looks like this:

And I fucking SEE HER FACE WHEN I THINK OF EDNA FOR SOME REASON. Unless she’s right there... And it has me suddenly forgetting Hilda’s name isn’t Edna! now let’s mention Yuri and his dog companion. And by that, I mean, y’know, Yuri Hyuga and Blanca.

Fans of Shadow Hearts, listen up. Let's give this at least 500k notes and show Aruze that WE WANT MORE OF THE SERIES AND WOULD BE WILLING TO PAY FOR IT. Such underrated RPG deserve more attention and now with PS 4 has been released recently, let's push Aruze to develop a new Shadow Hearts with Yuri Hyuga in it. We never get to know what happened after the good ending of SH1, neither the exact story after Karin met Yuri's father. The plot can still be worked on! Spread the words to all fans of Shadow Hearts you know! We can do this.
