The Lazarus Pits being more akin whale fall than sewage

The Lazarus pits, within the comics, are said to be necessary to the earth’s continued survival. What if, instead of being waste from the infinite realms, they’re the decaying remains of the Ancients which came before ours?

Within nature, very few creatures can feed on natural waste, and those that can are usually specialized to do so. Humans did not evolve alongside the pits, they were “discovered” around 600-700 years ago. Instead, humans learned to supplement their own lifeforce with the powers of the Lazarus pits.

Whale falls are rare, but naturally occurring events which benefit every single creature that comes across them. Entire ecosystems form around them.

Maybe, when the earth was forming, an Ancient Ended. Maybe the earth formed around the residue left behind, creating a core mottled with veins of ancient ectoplasm. Maybe the ectoplasm absorbed all of the emotions felt by the Ancient during its existence, and cast it into the bodies of those affected by it.

Maybe the reason no ghosts bother the bats (nor anyone else who’s used a Lazarus pit) is because they smell like the End of a deity.

Do you think that Odysseus stared out at the sea during his odyssey, a reminder of home? Do you think he heard the waves and thought of sitting on his balcony with Penelope? Do you think his view is forever painted with grief and suffering after coming home?

Do you think that Odysseus would want to remain still? To go somewhere would be to leave, and whose to say he wouldn't be sent on another odyssey? Could he handle being separated from his family for yet another adventure? How much longer until he breaks?

OHHH RENDERING/ COLORING TIPS?? or like your process

OKOK so i decided to pick up the chuuya sketch again and use that as reference

so ur gonna want to block out the flat colors first. i basically always recycle these colors when it comes to coloring him. as u can see they're rly dull and muted so that's what contributes overall to the warm and toasty look u guys use when talking abt my art.

one thing to note when trying to achieve the sugary golden brown vibe i try to give off in my art is to ALWAYS see each color as a shade of brown. skin is a light reddish brown with hues of orange or yellow. black is a rly dark brown which is more monotone. whites are a rly creamy and light shade of brown, kinda like beige. bearing this in mind is what helps me choose colors that are slightly more muted and cohesive

If You Like It, Put a Ring on It [fic]

I wanted to write one kiss, under some love seductive magic to make it more fun, but then everyone in my head went: but what about the AFTERMATH of a kiss? Aren't we going to explore why they did it and what happens next? And I'm like sure, another dramedy it is :D Because seriously, it's like these characters just have to have that bit of existential crisis first. And, obviously, overcoming it makes everyone (including me) oh-so-happy on various levels.

So I bring you another delicious Zhao Yuanzhou and Zhuo Yichen coming-together fic, with a first kiss and then some more, with ZYZ being a tease and looking staggering in his attempt to impress Zhuo Yichen even more, with a bit of a plot, found family shenanigans, and a variation of a wedding ring trope (is it even a thing? well now it's a thing :D)
