Send in a theme, a dialog prompt and the characters you'd like it to be about and I'll do my best to come up with a little drabble! Feel free to mix and match prompts however you like and if you have any specific ideas for a drabble please be sure to include those too (The more I have to work with the better)! You could also send just a theme and a premise if none of the dialog prompts catch your interest and I'll do my best to work off of it.
They most likely won't be very long but I will be working on them all the way up until Christmas so send in as many as you'd like and I'll get to as many as I can as I find the time!

DOTA SECRET SANTA 2022
It’s that time again already!
As always, even if you aren’t participating, I’d be very grateful if you could signal boost by re-blogging!  I’ll also be cross-posting to my Twitter *here* so RTs much appreciated if you’re on there ~
What’s a Secret Santa?
For those who have never done a Secret Santa before, the way it works is you submit a gift request, which goes into a pool which is then randomised. The randomised requests are then handed out to the participants.
So basically, its Mystery Gift! Everyone draws/writes a Dota-themed gift for someone. You won’t know who it’s for, and you won’t know who is doing yours! Then at Christmas the completed gifts are handed out anonymously to whomever they belong, via email.
Sounds good, where do I sign?
Send your email applications right here!   ->  [email protected]
What do I write in my  application email?
1. Your name / tumblr tag / most used social media - a link to your blog would also be helpful so I know who you are and can contact you if emails are not working or something. A link to examples of your work (art tag, etc) is also appreciated!
2. Preferred gift rating.  NSFW requests are totally okay as long as they are not offensive/racist/sexist but if you’d like something NSFW, please also provide a SFW alternative request as not everyone is comfortable producing such content. If you don’t mind receiving NSFW but would prefer not to submit it, please tell me and vice versa.
3. Your actual request!  If you prefer shipping/non shipping, please include this in your signup email.
Examples of requests (just for reference, there’s no required format)
- a pairing or your favourite character/s doing [something of your choice]
- an AU with [character/pairing]
Your requests don’t have to be seasonal-themed, request whatever you like!
4. Whether you would be able to pinch-hit (fill an extra gift if needed).
5. Whether you would like to remain anonymous to your gift recipient and/or on the master-post of entries (which will be posted up on Tumblr a few days after gift exchange)
———-   DEADLINES   ————–
Applications:  1st November 2022, 00:00 GMT
   > The randomised requests will be sent out to everyone a couple of days after the closing deadline for applications
Gift submission: 20th December 2022, 22:00 GMT
   > Please submit your completed gifts to [email protected]
GIFT EXCHANGE WILL TAKE PLACE ON 24th December 2022 (time TBC. evening, GMT)
———-      RULES/GUIDELINES     —————–
- Don’t be a butt. (generally the best rule to live by)
- Complete the gift using your MAD SKILLS, whether that’s drawing or writing fanfic! If you have other cool magic abilities like animating or using SFM, you’re welcome to use those too!
- Please submit completed works only. Your gift should be fully coloured if it’s art (unless you are specifically doing a monochrome / inked piece - please submit complete works only), and properly formatted, spell-checked and at least 1,000 words if it’s a written piece.
- For written pieces, google doc links/word documents are fine for the email exchange, but if you want me to include your fic in the tumblr master-post please bear in mind you need to post it somewhere link-able such as AO3.
- if you are submitting NSFW art, AO3 hosts art too! With the recent tumblr restrictions, this is a good hosting option and I think they have anon options too.
- Please don’t post any completed gifts on your blog before the gift exchange date!
- if the deadline is approaching and you know you won’t be able to submit your piece in time, please tell me as soon as possible so I can arrange for someone else to fill your assigned prompt.
- I’ll be tracking the tumblr tag ‘dota secret santa 2022’. If you have any issues, inbox me, email me or DM me on Twitter! (link above)
There’s also a Discord group - please let me know if you’d like an invite!
- GL HF!

11,12,14 and A. Hear me out. Kamal and Flower Kid are TINY compared to Boris and the two of them should have the privilege of drowning in Boris' sweaters.
Tumblr media
Hope you don't mind, I decided to combine these two!
11: Holiday Sleepover.
12: Firelight.
14: That Fuzzy Feeling.
15: Holiday Movie Marathon.
A: "It's a little big don't you think?" "It's just cozy sized!"
~
"I think that's everything!" Kamal announced, brushing off his hands with a satisfied smile as he stepped back into the living room through the door that lead into their garage. "I left it all somewhere easy to get to just in case you decide you want to do any last-minute decorating."
"Last minute decorating? Oooh, do not tempt me, Kamal!" Boris laughed as he tucked the remaining candy canes neatly into a bowl on their coffee table.
"Not that we haven't done an awesome job already. I gotta say, it's nice to see this place fancied up with the holiday spirit for the first time."
"Agreed, it is quite nice!"
They'd made use of the remaining Christmas lights as well, the ones that hadn't fit on the tree or outside, by wrapping them the whole way up the stair's banister. It was a last-minute decision by Kamal once they had finished decorating the tree and it gave their living room that final touch that brought the cozy atmosphere alive.
Their little conversation was unheard on your end, the soft him of the vacuum filling your ears as your swept up the stray pine needs that tracked from the door to the corner where the tree itself sat and you found yourself almost underneath it as you bent down to sweep around its base. Once you were satisfied you sat back on your knees and pushed the vacuum out of the way with a huff, reaching for the bright red rug that was fitted perfectly to encompass the base of the tree and leaned down once more to place it around it.
"Boo!"
A pair of hands squeezed your sides from behind and you jumped, bonking your heads upward into the soft needles of the Christmas tree, ducking right back down when they tickled the back of your neck.
"Oh, I am sorry! Are you okay?" Boris asked, taking a step back as you began scooting your way back out from under the tree.
"Haha, yeah I'm good." You assured, taking the hand that was offered to help you back up. "Anything else need put away?"
Boris opened his mouth to answer but Kamal beat him to it. "Nope, that's everything. Thanks for the help, kiddo, we're finally done." You nodded and the three of you shared a moment, taking in your work. The tree was trimmed and spun with lights, tinsel and popcorn with ornaments and candy canes hung from top to bottom. It was entirely picturesque and exactly what a Christmas tree should be, not perfect or even organized, but brimming with the personalities of the people that were excited to decorate it.
"It looks awesome..." You commented fondly, looking to Boris when he placed a hand on your shoulder and strode up beside you, eyes as full of light as yours were.
"Mmhm!" He nodded, a wide shaky smile on his face and you could only attribute his vague agreement as his way of holding back all he wanted to say. "It is perfect. Everything is perfect!"
You shared a few more moments of silence, deciding to let him take his time before moving on.
"It's gettin' late, we could turn the lights on outside now too." Kamal chimed in, nodding towards the door and Boris quickly wiped at his eyes.
"Yes, the lights!" He ushered you over with with Jim as he began heading for the door. "Come come, let us see how they look!" Following his orders, you stepped outside with him. It was fairly dark out already, with just the teeniest bit of twilight offering some light yet as you hugged your arms on the welcome mat. Boris kneeled to grab a cable that sat right out of sight off the walkway and turning back to you one last time with an excited grin before plugging it into a socket outside the doorway.
You looked upwards as immediately, the lights lining the roof and door came on and you followed them as power made its way past the windowsills to the trees on either side of their yard and they flashed on.
"Woah..." You gasped wistfully.
"Come here!" Boris gripped your hand and began leading you down the walkway. It was freezing but you followed after him without a second thought, the two of you coming to a stop at the sidewalk to turn and take everything in as a whole and neither of you said a word as you stood there.
Theirs wasn't the only house on the block with decorations or lights but from where you stood, you would have thought it to be the brightest. In all honesty, you weren't sure why this felt so monumental, there wasn't anything out of the ordinary or mind blowing about the simple display, but you couldn't shake the familiar warmth that built up in your chest as you stood hand in hand with him. It was enough to erase the bite of the cold air from your mind as enjoy the moment entirely.
"You did an incredible job, B."
Boris was just as mystified as you were, but you felt him squeeze your hand tighter, his way of acknowledging your compliment, so you returned the gesture.
"I love the snow as much as anybody but I'd recommend a jacket at least." Kamal called out, leaning against the frame of the front door.
'Snow?' You thought, glancing to the white that covered their lawn, it had been there the last couple of days but it quickly dawned on you that that wasn't what he was referring to. You'd been so distracted you hadn't noticed the small white flakes that had begun to fall all around you. "Boris, it's snowing!" You cheered and finally released his hand to cup yours towards the air and catch a few.
"Hm? Oh yes!" He copied your motion, raising one of his own hands to watch the way they hit his palm and melted. "It is, how do they say? A Christmas Miracle!"
"I wouldn't say miracle, exactly, unless you're prepared for a "miracle" forecasted every day this week," Kamal joked, taking a step back inside and motioning for the two of you to follow.
Boris looked down at you, his brows raising as he seemed to finally come to. "Yes yes, let us get you back inside!" He placed a hand on your shoulder and began shepherding you back up up the walk. You almost stopped him, thinking to say something but stopped yourself, you needed to collect your things anyway and you didn't want to bring the mood down so suddenly with the fact that you should probably be heading home before it got much darker.
The warmth of their home was more than welcome as you were the first to step back inside after Kamal, Boris following closing behind.
"Oh, I almost forgot!" Before you made it too far inside, you felt him hook the back of your shirt collar and pull you back into his arms. "Mwah! One for now. Mwah! And one for before!" He placed a smooch on your right and then left cheek, releasing you once he was finished.
Bashfully wiping your cheeks off with your sleeve, you turned your back to him to hide your face and began collecting your things from the couch. "Yooou are such dork!" You laughed, internally smacking yourself for forgetting the way this place was booby trapped with mistletoe, and he rested his hands under his chin, smiling at you.
"A dork who looooves you! >:-]"
"Pfff.." You couldn't even bring yourself to respond to that, doing your best to repress the wide, half-embarrassed smile on your face. "Okay..." You began, stepping past him once more to reach for your jacket. "It is getting late so I should probably start heading home. I don't want to get caught up in anything if it starts snowing harder, thanks for everything today."
"I- what?!" His cocky smile fell immediately and his expression changed from surprise then to worry. "You are leaving?! Why?!"
"Because, I've got decorating to do now, remember?" You joked, finding at least a little bit of amusement in his sudden change in demeanor. "Thanks for everything today, see you tomorrow?" He didn't answer fiddling with his hands rather uncertainly by the door and was about to speak up himself when Kamal took notice of your teasing and leaned out of the kitchen.
"Kid, if you think we're letting you walk home in that. You've got another thing coming." Boris perked right up, placing a hand on his hip and raised a finger at you before you made it out the door.
"Kamal is right!"
"Go get in the car, I'll drive you."
"Kamal!"
You snickered and Kamal winked at you. "Unless...y'know, they want to stay the night or something, probably not though. I mean, who would want to spend the night with us? I wouldn't, especially not if I had to drink all this hot cocoa I just made." He shrugged leaning back into the kitchen. "Oh well."
Boris gasped loudly, fluttering his hands excitedly. "That is it! We should have a holiday sleepover! We can watch movies and drink hot cocoa and eggnog and eat cookies and fall asleep by the fire!"
"Well....I'm not sure." You feigned contemplativitly and he pouted. "Alright, alright, don't see how I could say no to an offer like that. If you don't mind me staying, I'd love to." You joked.
"Exactly, you can not! And of course we do not mind!" Boris reached for your jacket and you let him hang it up once more. "Go get comfy, I'll go get us some things!"
You nodded and stepped fully back into the living room. Boris began running upstairs but stopped himself halfway and jumped back down, "One moment!" closing the distance between you he leaned forward and at record speed planted another smooch on your cheek. "You make it too easy!"
Kamal eventually came out to join you on the couch and as he'd not so subtly promised earlier carried with him three mugs of cocoa on small. "Drink up, kid." He offered you one, setting it down on the coffee table and taking a seat beside you.
"Thanks." You said as you slowly grabbed the mug and lifted it to your chest.
"Marshmallows?" He offered, pulling a few from a pack and stirred them into his own mug.
"Yes please, thanks and thanks for..." You vaguely motioned around yourself and dropped a few into your cocoa.
"Nah, thank you, you sure are making the big guy happy." He paused to take a sip and let out satisfied sigh. "And besides, I meant what I said about you not walkin' home in that kinda weather, you gotta take better care of yourself.
"You got it" You saluted him, finally trying your own. It was still too hot to drink but you took a small sip anyways, letting it burn the tip of your tounge. "What's he up to anyway?" You asked, looking upstairs. Boris hadn't come down yet and in the meantime Kamal began working to start the fire under the TV.
"I've got a pretty good idea." He smiled, stepping back when the logs began to take to the flame and sat back down beside you. "He's... way better at this than I am." Kamal remarked, referencing the way the small fire flickered awkwardly among the poorly stacked wood. "He'll be able to get it going better once he's done doin' what he's doin'."
"Here they are, I finally found them!" Rushing down the stairs returned Boris, clad in what had to be one of the loudest Christmas sweaters you'd ever seen. It was one of those ones with a fully decorated tree stitched into the front complete with fireplace and stockings.
"Eyy, speak of the devil."
"You're looking festive." You remarked with a grin.
"Thank you, I'm glad you think so, because the best part is; I've got one for each of us!." He held out what appeared to be two sweaters of similar style but you hesitated to take one. Even folded up they were ginormous and the heavy material made it pretty weighty as well.
"Oh, wow." You stuttered but darn it if it didn't look cozy and you were too deep in the holiday spirit to turn down such a notion now. "Okay, give me just a second!"  You grabbed the sweater and ran down the hall to the bathroom to change. The one Boris was wearing was oversized as well, even for him, as sweaters usually were, so compared to you this one had you completely dwarfed when you held it out to examine it. It was green, red and white with "Naughty Or Nice?" printed in large black letters on the front. When you finally slipped it on, it hung down below your thighs with sleeves that were at least half your arm length too long. Looking in the mirror, you hugged yourself, appreciating how soft it was even if it did look more like a nightgown than a sweater.
When you reentered the living room, Boris gave a small, happy applause and Kamal fell back in his seat with a snort. "Lookin good, kid." He joked.
"Indeed, very full of Christmas spirit, Y/n!"
"Thank you!" You took even Kamal's snarky compliment with pride.
"Okay, your turn, Kamal!" Boris turned to him holding the other sweater out.
"That's okay, bud, I've got one of my own I can-" Halfway through his sentence, Kamal was entrapped inside the large sweater as Boris got to work putting it on him. There was a brief struggle and then finally a loud gasp as Kamal's head burst through the collar. You were the one laughing now and Boris took a step back to admire his friend. "Nevermind, I guess this will work then." Kamal relented with a smile and leaned back into the couch. He had a giant bow design on the front of his, making him look like a present. "Kinda big though, ain't they?" He joked, flapping the oversized sweater sleeves..
"They are just cozy sized." Boris insisted, wrapping an arms around the two of you and squishing you together in a massive hug as he fell backward onto the couch. "We are going to have the coziest sleepover ever and the coziest sleepover needs the warmest hugs!"
"You are such a cheeseball, big guy." Kamal said, half muffled by the face full of sweater.
Boris et out a small content hum and the two of you were finally released. You curled up beside him, tucking your legs underneath the sweater with you and leaned back against the arm of the couch. "Oh, we've got to watch a Christmas movie!"
"Oooh! Good idea, I do not think I know many though..." Boris commented sadly and you patted his shoulder.
"It's all good we'll introduce you to the classics!"
"Now we're talkin'!" Kamal slapped his knee. "What did you have in mind, kid?"
"How about Die Hard? That's technically a Christmas movie after all. Or...the Nightmare Before Christmas?"
"Die...Hard?" Boris parroted, raising a brow questioningly.
"Very funny, kid. Sides, Nightmare's a Halloween movie."
"That's debatable."
"Those your actual picks? No take-backs ya know."
"Okay, okay," You raised your hands in surrender. "I guess...if I wanted it to be something really special, I'd choose It's A Wonderful Life, but I think we should save that for last. So...what about the old Rankin Bass ones?"
"Now you're talkin. Which one you want to go with?" Kamal asked.
"We've got all night, right? Let's watch all of them, the main ones at least, we can make a marathon out of it!"
"A marathon?" Boris parroted once more. "That would mean we stay up as long as it takes to see them all, correct?"
"Yes, but trust me it's way worth it, I think you'll love them. We'll start with Rudolph and go from there."
"The Year Without A Santa Clause was always one of my favorites." Kamal smiled, side-eyeing Boris. "Would be nice to see them all again."
"Okee, let us do it! I want to see what makes Christmas special to you two." You could tell that Kamal was almost as surprised as you were at his almost instant agreement.
"Awesome!" You cheered, making yourself comfortable while Kamal reached for the remote.
"Ooh, I have an idea!" Before you began playing anything, Boris stood up and rounded the couch quickly. "Hold on for just a moment while I-" with a hearty push, he gripped the back of the couch and slid the entire things closer to the fireplace. Once he was satisfied he vaulted back over it, landing between the two of you and was quick to cuddle you both close to him. "Now we'll be nice and toasty!"
~
🎄Request Here🎄
~Bonus~
"He just wanted to be a dentist, but society would not let him!" Boris cried, already tearing up.
"Of all the ones I counted on you crying about, I don't know why I didn't see this coming?"
~
"~We're a couple of misfits."
"~We're a couple of misfits."
"~What's the matter with misfits?"
"~That's were we fit in!"
"Okay, okay, I get it, I'm the only one here that's NOT traumatized in some way."
"..."
"..."
"Too far? Sorry, I guess I shouldn't have-"
"~Oh, We're a couple of misfits!"
"~We're a couple of misfits!"
"Okay, never mind, apology retracted."
~
"Do not let this scare you, Y/n, I am sure Santa will be here right on time this year to see someone as good as you!"
"Pff, I'm not worried, Boris."
"Yeah, kid, don't worry, he'll come for sure."
"Gee thanks, Kamal."
"No no no, eet is okay!" Boris squished you into his side, patting your head reassuringly. "You have been nothing but nice, so I am sure sure of it!"
~
"~Let up a little on the wonder why and give your heart a try." You heard someone softly singing along and leaned around a sleeping Boris to see if your suspicions were correct. Kamal, half sleep himself and leaned into his sweeping companion whispered along to the song playing on TV. Half of you wanted to say something, maybe poke fun a little bit but he seemed oddly at peace, enough that he didn't even notice you watching him.
"~There's more to the world than meets the eye. ~When doubts in your mind give your heart a try ~Let up a little on the wonder why-"
"And give your heart a try!" You sung, finishing with him in unison.
"Heh, Merry Christmas, kid."

Hii! I love the Christmas prompts! Could I get C with Boris and Kamal finding out that the reader/fk can't go home for Christmas this year or just isn’t really celebrating this year for one reason or another and was just going to sit this one out because they don't want to intrude on their friends' Christmases?
Another one! Thanks so much for requesting!
C: "I...really wasn't going to do much this year..." "That's okay, you don't have too, we've got it all planned out, you just have to tag along!"
~
The crunch of salt under you feet was oddly satisfying. It had been laid last night and was doing its job well, you even gave the sidewalk a couple test slips for safety just to make sure before continuing without much mind to how you were stepping. Snow still lined the streets, plowed against the curb and blanketing the roofs of houses as it began to take on a wetter texture to it in the early winter sun. You guessed it wouldn't be long until the next snowfall at this rate, and the sky would be overcast for the better part of the next couple months, so you didn't mind these last few sunnier days until the temperature really started to drop.
You probably should have been a little more careful even under normal circumstances considering the bowsaw you were absent-mindedly swinging in your right hand. You briefly considered how unusual you might have looked since it was the only thing you were carrying as you walked down the street in the middle of the day.
But you fast approached where you were heading, surprised to see the reasons for your visit already outside. Kamal and Boris were standing at the latter's car. Kamal seemed to be fumbling around with something in the driver's seat while Boris stood at the other side, drumming his hands against the roof of the car as he waited. When he noticed you approaching the patient smile on his face widened and he waved. "Ah, you brought eet! Very good, thank you very much!"
"Yeah, no problem." You assured, lifting the saw in demonstration. "The blade is kind of rusty but it should work for whatever you need."
"Eet's perfect!" Taking it from you carefully, he lifted it to give it a quick look over then opened the door he'd been standing in front of and placed it in the back seat of the car. "Thank you again for making the trip, we do appreciate it!"
"It's no trouble, I was gonna head into town anyway, you guys' place is just a short detour." You glanced behind yourself than to Kamal who was still furiously fiddling with something in the front seat and curiosity got the better of you. "If you don't mind me asking, what are you guys up to?" You had a pretty good idea of what it might be but you didn't feel like continuing on your way just yet.
"I am so glad that you asked; Kamal and I are going to get our Christmas tree!"
"Oh? That's awesome, where are you going?"
"There is a little place right outside of town that Kamal said looked good. You get to cut your own, which I have never done before, so eet is going to be so much fun!"
"There's nothing like cutting your own, even if it's at a tree farm it still feels special." You agreed. "But a place like that would probably have saws for you to use, not that I mind lending you mine."
"That's what I told him!" Kamal finally spoke up from the other side of the car, stopping his work for a moment to look at the two of you over the roof. "Hiya, kid." He greeted more casually then bent down to lift something out of the seat, a second later throwing some kind of strap over the top of the car as if testing its length. "Finally got these untangled, should work just fine." He nodded, winding it back up and tossing the rest of them into the back seat as Boris had done with the saw. "I think that's all we need." He brushed his hands off, stepping around the car to stand by the two of you and give Boris a sly smile. "Now, you gonna ask 'em if they want to come or am I? That's the only reason you had em bring that saw anyways, right?" He finished his rhetorical question with a wink and began putting his gloves on.
"Oh, I uh..!" Boris' face went red, not expecting to have been called out like that but it didn't last for long before he was smiling at you again. "Would you like to come with us? If you're not busy of course!"
"For real?" You questioned, pausing in thought, there was no harm in coming along. "Yeah, okay, why not? If you don't mind me coming, sure, I'll help where I can!"
"Yay!" Boris cheered, clapping in celebration then began climbing into the passenger seat of the car. "Let us go!"
"Oh, right now?" You questioned, but you knew you shouldn't have been surprised seeing as they were prepping to leave right as you showed up. "Alright!" Running to the other side of the car you climbed in behind Kamal.
"Happy to have ya," Kamal said, adjusting his mirror to meet your gaze and the three of you fell into casual conversation as he began the drive out of town, with the two of them discussing decorations, baking, shopping, and finally the subject of the actual tree when Kamal mentioned that you were drawing close to your destination
"I want a really beeg one!" Boris mused, holding out his arms in demonstration.
"How big we talkin'?" Kamal asked.
"Ooh, if eet's okay, at least a little taller than I am, I...want to be able to look up at eet," Boris admitted, bashfully rubbing the back of his neck.
"Heh, I'm sure we can make that work, might be a challenge to get it in the door but we've got room by the stairs."
"Goodie!"
Turning your attention from the window you decided to join them. "You said this was your first time cutting your own tree, right?"
"Yes, it ees! I am quite excited, it is going to be just like in the movies!" His expression seemed to soften in a kind of wistful way. "A real Christmas tree..." He whispered to himself as if this was so exciting he couldn't believe it was real.
"Didn't..." You took a second to think your words over before you spoke, almost deciding to ditch the question altogether until you noticed that you had his full attention and he was waiting for you to continue. "Didn't your family ever have a tree for Christmas?"
"Hm? Oh, we did, when I was younger at least!" His previously cheerful expression returned as he reminisced and you were relieved to see that your question hadn't bothered him when he continued. "But from what I can remember they were not real; bright silver and already covered in decorations, very pretty but I like the way others do it better, turning it into something special, I mean. Back then I would wake up and it would be in our living room, there wasn't much more to it then that and it was never brought up".
"That's unfortunate..."
"And this..." He paused. "This will be the first year that I've attempted to celebrate since I was younger, so...I am looking forward to it, very much so. I would like to make up for all the years I wasted!" He finished his sentence with vigor, pounding his fist into his palm as he grinned back at you.
"That sounds like an amazing plan, B." Something about his hopefulness left a melancholy knot in the pit of your stomach, and despite his unwavering enthusiasm, your smile saddened with a feeling you couldn't quite place. Boris seemed to notice it, tilting his head with a look that seemed like he was about to question you until you were both interrupted.
"We're here!" Kamal cheered, and you looked out the right window to see a field of evergreen trees planted in perfect symmetry but ranging in sizes from big to small.
An ecstatic gasp left Boris' mouth as he pressed his hands to the window. "They are so pretty!"
"And one of 'em's gonna be ours soon," Kamal added, turning into the Christmas tree farm.
Boris bounced up and down in his seat and you got to work neatly winding up the roof straps that sat beside you as Kamal pulled into a parking spot near the front. As soon as you came to a stop Boris was the first one out of the car and you followed, bringing the saw along with you.
Kamal was out last, zipping up his coat slowly as he mosied around the vehicle to join you. "Alrighty..." He began, looking around until his eyes landed on what appeared to be the "front desk" that took the form of a small shed outfitted for people to pay at, borrow cutting tools and ask questions. There appeared to be a small line there already.
"Howzabout you two go start picking one out and I'll catch up in a few after I see what the rules are?" He offered, thumbing towards the stand.
"Okee, let's go, Y/n!"
"Sure thing." You agreed and Boris gripped your free hand in his and began heading towards the trees, taking you by surprise but you followed after happily. "Not too fast, I'm holding a saw, you know!"
As soon as you entered the tree field it seemed like Boris couldn't decide between bouncing from tree to tree to see as many as he could or spending an extra long time inspecting them one by one to find the perfect one. Thanks to his excitablness the two of you ended up making a bigger scene than even the entire families that were picking out their trees alongside you. You didn't have the heart to stop him though, allowing him to pull you around as he sized them up.
"What do you think of this one?" He asked, letting go of your hand to step around it and look at the other side.
"Honestly, I don't know, they all look good to me, especially these big ones." You remarked, looking up at the large tree. It had to be at least 8ft tall.
"Yes, they are all very nice." He agreed, raising a hand to inspect its needles. "This one...is a white spruce!" He announced proudly, stepping around the tree once more to look up at it by your side.
"I didn't know you knew about trees too, that's impressive."
"Oooh, not really." He fluttered a hand at you bashfully. "I just did some research for today!"
"Still, you're so passionate." You smiled, turning back towards the tree.
"Aww, hehe, thank you. What kind did you get?"
"Hm?" You hummed questioningly.
"Sorry, what kind of tree, I meant. Maybe I can get the same type and we can be tree twinsies!"
"Oh, I-"
"Oh, it is alright if you don't know! Just describe it to me and I can probably figure it out! Like, what shade of green is it? Were the needles flat or more pointy? That kind of thing."
You paused as the little anxious corner of your brain began telling you not to start this conversation. Not because it was any kind of big deal, or because you didn't want Boris to know what your plans for December were but because as soon as it started you knew exactly where it was going to go and you were unsure of how to handle it.
"I...don't have one."
"..."
"Yeah, I was just gonna-"
"That is perfect!" His sudden outburst took you by surprise and he gripped you by the shoulders, smiling down at you. "What luck that you came along today then, yes? We can get our trees together, it will be twice as much fun!"
"Boris, no, I wasn't...I just wasn't gonna get one this year." You admitted, playing it off casually and his face contorted once more with realization.
"Oooh! I am so sorry, I understand! You won't need one, if you're going home for the holidays, no? That was silly of me."
And just like that, you paused again. Maybe it was because he was so excited that you felt like talking about yourself would be a bit selfish, especially when you knew how he'd react.
"I'm staying in town this Christmas too actually. I...just wasn't going to do much this year... No reason really, I made that decision back in November since I wasn't going home and I'm gonna stick with it."
Why did this feel like such a big deal? You were so sure of yourself up until now and he had no reason to be so surprised by this, so why did that heavy feeling appear in your gut once more when you felt him looking at you.  The overly enthusiastic goofball that had been pulling you around all day went oddly quiet and you took a step back as he lowered himself into a squat beside you and looked up at you with a soft expression that made you feel all too vulnerable and you weren't sure why.
"Y/n, do you not like Christmas?" He asked, but it wasn't accusatory at all, just curious.
"What? No, I love Christmas, I just-"
"That is what I thought." He placed a hand on his chin and nodded, seemingly in deep thought. "But you do not want to celebrate because you are not going home, yes?"
"K-kind of? I just didn't see the point of putting in the effort just for myself."
"I see...I suppose I just assumed, if you weren't able to celebrate with family, you'd come celebrate with Kamal and me." You could only think of a few times that you'd seen him this deep in thought, he didn't even seem particularly upset just very focused on you and what you were saying. "Did you really not wish to?"
"That's not what a said!" You waved your hands out in front of you, trying to backtrack. "I just-
"Turns out we just gotta cut it and tote it upfront, that all there is to it!" Rather anticlimactically, Kamal approached from around a tree, stopping once he noticed your flustered expression and Boris' crouched position, his eyes darting between the two of you. "Alright, what did I miss?"
"I was just-
"Y/n does not want to spend Christmas with us," Boris interjected, raising a finger.
"Really?" Kamal eyed you, half amused and half surprised. "Cold, kid, real cold." He joked, obviously aware that there was more to it than that.
"That's not what I said, I- I just...give me a second!"
"We've got all day," Kamal remarked with a smile, propping his elbow against a still crouched Boris and they both watched you expectantly.
Gosh, why were you so flustered, this is not how you imagined today going. "I wasn't going to do anything this year, not much at least. Please, it's got nothing to do with you guys, I wasn't even gonna say anything. I'm super happy Boris is gonna get to have an awesome Christmas, I just don't want to get in anyone's way."
"Who said you are getting in our way?" Boris asked, his brows rasing in annoyance at whoever might have told you such a thing.
"Yeah, who told you that?" Kamal parrotted, clearly finding some kind of enjoyment in this holly jolly interrogation.
"No one, I just-"
"So you just don't want to celebrate with us then?" Kamal asked.
"That is NOT what I-
"So, you just do not want to celebrate at all then?" Boris asked.
"No, I-
"So you do want to celebrate?
"YES!" You finally yelled in frustration, catching a few stares from passerbys and clamping your hand over your mouth in embarrassment. Once the attention had faded you turned back to them, and that melancholy feeling from early found its way to your face. "I...I want to celebrate it's just that, like, I'm getting older and I thought maybe since I wasn't going home there wasn't much of a point doing it all by myself. But then there's you guys, and Parsley and Trencil and Borbra and Questionette and, well, I knew how you'd react if you found out, but I didn't want to be any trouble so I was just gonna keep to myself this year."
"..."
"It's dumb, I know."
The two of them shared a glance and Kamal was the first to speak up.
"Listen, kid, whatever preconceived notions you got about where you stand in this little family of ours, let me tell ya, Christmas ain't gonna be the same without ya. Especially if we know you're stewin' away all by yourself for no good reason. So if you don't want to celebrate with us, I'm not gonna force ya, but you can be sure as snow that we want to be celebrating with you."
Boris nodded and stood to his full height, stepping over to rest a hand on your shoulder once more. "We have got it all planned out, you just have to tag along!"
Now how could you even feasibly respond to that with how absolutely full your heart was feeling right now? The touched expression on your face must have been readable because Kamal soon walked up beside him and elbowed him in the arm cheekily. "I think ya got 'em, bud."
"Okay!" You nodded fast, finally giving your answer as you struggled to put everything you were feeling into words. Luckily your near speechless seemed to convey how you were feeling well enough, at least for the two of them to understand and you and Kamal were soon squished together as Boris pulled the two of you into a hug.
"Alright!" Kamal shoved his gloved hand into your hair, ruffling it gently before turning to look up at Boris. "Did you guys find manage to find one you liked?"
"Oh yes!" Boris exclaimed, releasing you to turn towards the one you'd been standing by all this time. "But, you never really did tell me what you thought of it."
"Well, what do you think, kid? This one good?"
"I think it's perfect."

As if you hadn't made enough of a scene at this little Christmas tree farm today, you received far more than a few strange looks as you walked through the pine field back to the entrance with your choice. Not that you could blame them, not many people can say they've seen a 7ft man carrying an 8ft Christmas tree over his shoulder like it didn't weigh more than a roll of wrapping paper. You'd never forget the way the attendant's eyes raised in surprise when the three of you approached the front counter to pay, you were sure they'd be telling this story for Christmases to come.
You and Boris worked to strap the rather large tree to the roof of his car and you realized they'd chosen his car in particular thanks to it having cargo bars on the top. It took a little bit of wrestling to get it secured and it hung over the windshield just a might but the two of you smiled proudly at the result once you'd finished.
"We all ready?" Kamal questioned and you nodded, climbing in behind the driver's seat once more and Kamal followed, giving the straps that held your cargo a test pull before sliding in behind the wheel. Boris on the other hand stopped at the passenger side, a contemplative look on his face. "You ready, bud?"
"Geeve me one second!" He raised a finger and then ran back towards the pine farm. "I will be right back!" He yelled over his shoulder and you and Kamal shared a confused look until he shrugged.
"Must've forgotten somethin'."
A few minutes passed and while Kamal didn't seem concerned, you considered going to check on him, at the very least to help him find whatever it was he forgot or was looking for. That was until you heard the click of the trunk unlocking. "He's back."
The trunk was hoisted open and when you looked back to see what he was doing, you were met with a face full of green as a Christmas tree was shoved through the back, up over the back seat, and up between the driver and passenger seats, earnings more than a few confused sounds from you and Kamal.
"What the heck is that?!"
"It is for you! Merry Christmas!" Boris suddenly appeared at your window, grinning widely as he brushed the remaining pine needles off of his hands.
"What, why?!"
"You said you didn't have one yet, so we might as well get it while we're here!"
"Boris, you didn't have to, I would have gotten one eventually! This is..." Your protests were cut off when you noticed Kamal cracking up in the front seat and your shock faded to laughter as well. "....You know what? Never mind. Thanks, and Merry Christmas to you too!"

Hello! If you don't mind me sending in a writing prompt, will it be okay I ask for something with 4 and U with Kamal and the Reader? Preferably, the Reader is the one teasing Kamal about getting tangled up in tinsel?
Tumblr media
I don't mind at all, thank you for the request!
4: Decorating The Tree.
U: "You're being awfully sarcastic for someone dangling upside down in a mess of tinsel."
~
Pinching the needle carefully between his fingers, Boris stuck his tongue out of the corner of his mouth in concentration and brought it close to his eyes as he worked to tie the knot at the end of his string of popcorn.
"You think this is enough?" You asked from beside him on the couch as you took the string he had been working on and tied it to the end to your own, making much quicker work of the knot yourself before holding it out to examine its length.
"I think so, yes!" He answered and you nodded, placing the strand down with the others on the coffee table in front of you.
"How are things coming on your end?" You leaned over the arm of the couch to ask Kamal who sat at the very bottom of the stairs, wrestling with a string of lights.
"I think..." He paused, undoing what looked to be the final tangle in the now nicely rolled coil of lights, and jumped to his feet triumphantly to plug the end into an extension cord that ran from the socket in the wall to where he sat. As soon as he did the bright white lights in his arms lit up, and he fist-pumped the air victoriously, "All done on my end."
"Awesome." You praised and began gathering up the strings of popcorn you'd finished, draping them over your arm with care as to not tangle them. As you did, Kamal unplugged the lights and stepped around the stairs to begin hanging them on the tree.
"Mind lending me a hand with the top, big guy?" Kamal asked, turning toward the two of you and Boris was quick to jump from his seat on the couch and rush over to him.
"Yes, of course, please allow me!" He insisted, taking the end of the string of lights as Kamal held onto the rest to keep them from retangling.
"Start at the very top and work down, that will probably be the easiest," Kamal said, letting out more line as Boris stood on his tiptoes and began wrapping the tree.
They'd chosen a good spot for it. It sat in the corner that met the back wall of the living room to the wall under the banister of the stairs. Directly to the left of it was the entrance to the hall that led both of their rooms and you could probably reach the top of the tree from the very top stairs too.
Using your free hand, you kneeled to inspect the cardboard boxes that sat by them, unsurprised to see the first one you opened full of ornaments; the very traditional looking round, sparkly and shiny balls ranging in colors from red to gold. They looked to be in good condition, but judging by the way they were stored, wrapped in newspaper, and rather disorganized, you guessed this wasn't their first Christmas.
"Oh my gosh!" Boris' cry from behind you startled you enough to almost drop the one you'd picked up to look at, fumbling with it several times before getting a grip on it and holding it to your chest. Letting out a silent sigh of relief you placed it carefully back down into the box and turned to see what the commotion was.
It looked like they were done with the lights, even if they weren't lit up yet but Boris stood in front of the tree, clearly upset by something. "How could I forget candy canes!" He groaned, smacking a hand to the side of his head. "I got everything else: hot chocolate, mistletoe, popped corn, pretty sweaters..." He counted his Christmas shopping list off on his fingers, "How could I forget the candy canes!?"
"It's okay, bud, I'm sure it will look just as good without them," Kamal assured him but he didn't seem satisfied, eyeing the tree sadly. "Okay, okay, how about I pick some up on the way home tomorrow?"
"Hmm, no no, eet is okay! I will run down and get some right now!"
"You sure? It's no sweat we've got plenty of time."
"Yes! I will be right back, I promise! I am going to check the convenience store down the street real quick!" Boris was already on the move, grabbing his jacket from the coat rack by the door and slipping it on. "до свидания!" He gave a quick wave and was out the door before you could say anything yourself, then you and Kamal shared a look the evolved into a mutual snicker.
"Hey, what can I say? He's real excited." Kamal laughed reaching for the popcorn strings you'd been holding.
"I can tell." You agreed, kneeling back down to the box of ornaments.
"Might as well get these on while we wait." He reasoned, weighing the strings in one hand absent-mindedly.
"Shouldn't we wait until Boris comes back?" You asked.
"Nah, it'll be fine, so long as we don't finish without him he'll be happy to see it all coming together." You just hummed in agreement, slowly tilting up the first layer of ornaments to see what was underneath. Kamal took notice of your interest in them and squatted down beside you, picking up what just so happened to be the ornament you'd almost dropped early, giving it a small toss in the air before catching it again.
"Not a bad collection, huh?" He joked rhetorically and held it out to you.
"Yeah, not bad. Are there more in there?" You asked, taking it from him and nodding towards the other boxes.
"Yep, and some other stuff too. My mom gave me a bunch of hand-me-down decorations when I moved out here." He paused, a melancholy smile coming to his face. "Y'know, I actually told her I didn't want any of it at the time, but she insisted."
"Oh yeah?"
"Haha, yeah... I guess I didn't see much of a point, didn't really have plans on doing anything on my own for the holidays after I moved out, plus just more junk to store, y'know? Buuut, things change pretty quickly, huh?" He glanced towards the door and you gave him a knowing smile. "Now, I'm glad she did."
"That's awesome, Kamal."
"She's the best." He stood back up proudly and made his way back to the tree to begin placing the popcorn strings. "Let's get these on and we can start hanging stuff when the big guy gets back."
"Alright!" You stood up and followed him to begin helping. Compared to the size of the tree, the popcorn strings didn't add too much, but it was a nice touch none the less and once you'd finished, he took a step back to examine your work.
"Oh, I almost forgot. I've got some tinselly stuff we can use too!" He slapped his hands together and made his way over to one of the boxes, unfolding the flaps to reveal it stuffed to the top with large garlands of silver tinsel.
"Nice!" You cheered, watching him reach into the box and pull it all out in one massive sparkling ball. "You sure you don't want to wait until Boris gets back so he can help us get the top?"
"Nah, check this out, I got it." Carrying it past you, Kamal made his way up the stairs, stopping once he'd reached the top to lean over the banister. "I'll start letting it down as I untangled it, you just kind of guide it and we'll have this done in no time."
"Gotcha." You nodded, grabbing the end that he'd lowered down for you and you began weaving it around the tree from the bottom and slowly moving upwards. It was already coming together so smoothly, you couldn't wait to see it lit up; the white lights and tinsel would compliment each other nicely. Once you'd wrapped it a little over halfway, you couldn't reach much higher.
"I've got it from here," Kamal assured, hanging the remaining garlands over his shoulder as he leaned over the banister to work on wrapping it the whole way to the top.
"Careful." You warned, unconsciously stepping closer to the tree out of worry when he straddled the banister, one foot resting on the ledge just outside of it and one hand gripping the rail as he finished swirling it the whole way up.
"Looks like we've got more than enough, hand me the scissors and I'll cut it off here."
Looking around the boxes, you spotted them still setting on the coffee table and gripped them by the blades for safety, making your way up the stairs to hand them to Kamal.
"Thank you kindly- " But before you'd made it quite the whole way up, he reached forward to take them from you and his foot slipped off the other side.
Slapping a hand over your mouth in shock you rushed back down the stairs, nearly tripping as you skipped the last step and rounded the banister to see where he'd fallen
"Oh my gosh, are you okay?"
"I...." While you were still worried, your panic slowly faded when you caught sight of him. The remaining garlands had looped around the top of the banister and during his tumble had somehow managed to twist around his midsection and left leg, leaving him dangling upside down against the wall in an awkward position. "I'm fine just a little hung up right now...hehe.."
Looking him up and down you took a step closer, your concerned expression turning to a much less serious one. "I told you to be careful." You snickered and he kicked against the wall with his other leg, trying and failing to free himself.
"What can I say-" He tried again, yanking at the garland that tangled his midriff only to fall a few inches before stopping. "I've never been very good at knowing when to get myself out of a situation." Struggling a bit more to no avail, he let out a sigh and looked up at you. "A little help, please?"
"Hmm.." You hummed to yourself sarcastically, tapping a finger to your chin then noticed his Santa hat that had fallen off and picked it up, placing it on your own head. "Can I keep the hat?"
"Extorting a guy on Christmas, I didn't think you had it in ya, kid, real cold. No, get your own."
"You're awfully sarcastic for somebody in your position you know?" You smirked and rested a hand on his leg. "I wonder what will happen if I..." Answering your own question, you gave him a little swing and he swayed back and forth against the wall, and you just burst out laughing. "This is why we don't play on the stairs."
"Oh, haha, real funny." Crossing his arms despite his position and watching the living room sway back and forth as he did, he couldn't hold his own smile back much longer once he realized how silly he probably looked. "Okay, okay, kid, you win, you can keep the hat."
"Wonderful." On cue you reached forward with the scissors, snipping the garland holding him up and he fell about 10 inches, hitting the floor with a soft thud. "Pleasure doing business with you."
Kamal let out a small snort and you offered a hand to help him up which he took immediately, instead, yanking you down to the ground alongside him and put you in a weak head lock, ruffling your hair over the hat. "Can't say the same about you!"
"Knohock it ohohff!"
"Oh, you think I'm done? Nope, come here." He then began tossing the remaining tinsel over you from behind, covering your head. "Let's see how you like it!"
"They had different flavors!" Boris burst through the door right on time, grocery bags hung over his arms and a wide smile on his face as he stepped inside. "Oh?" He paused in the doorway, raising an eyebrow at your strange position, you were both completely draped in tinsel, sitting on the floor beside the tree. "What did I miss?"
You were still giggling, brushing the tinsel out of you vision to look at him but Kamal beat you to an answer. "Not much, you're right on time actually! We just got finished with with the rest of the popcorn and garland, right, kiddo? Just gotta hang the ornaments and put up the star." He finally released you, giving your hair one final ruffle before snatching the hat back off of your head and placing it back on his own.
"Uh hu!" You nodded. "We'll...let you put the star on."

O with Dallus and the reader/fk, please. If possible with the fk saying it to him!
Love this man! For a bit of context, I have this headcanon that Dallas lives in an old school bus he remodeled.
O: "Christmas won't be the same without you, y'know..."
~
There was a soft kind of sputtering that urged you to open yours eyes briefly but you closed them again in favor of rolling away from the sound instead. Throwing your arm out from under your blanket, you pulled it right back with a groan when your hand came into contact with the cold metal of the floor outside of where you laid. This helped wake you a little further, even if you did use that clarity to scoot closer to the heat source at your back and burrow further under your blankets. Dozing off for what felt like another few minutes was enough to give you the strength you needed to actually attempt to wake up and with a stretch, you opened your eyes and stared upwards.
Your makeshift bed of blankets and pillows was oddly enough almost more difficult to pull yourself from than your actual bed, ironic considering you were camped out on the floor in the back of Dallas' bus. He kept an old kerosene heater bolted to the floor and slept next to it in the wintertime instead of his bed, and you'd spent the night doing just that as well. It might have been somewhat of a fire hazard but you were just close enough to stay comfortably warm so you didn't really care. Dallas' sleeping bag at the other side of the heater was empty and you began scanning your surroundings in search of where he'd gone.
"Sssorry, flower power, didn't mean to wake you..."
You sat yourself up, crossing your legs and wrapping a blanket around your shoulder to sit facing the heat, and subsequently Dallas who stood at the other side of it. He stepped over his pillow and gave you an apologetic look before focusing on a tea kettle he had set atop the kerosene heater he seemed to be using as a makeshift stove.
"It's okay." You slurred out, hunching forward and closer to the warmth. You were still groggy and the warmth wasn't helping, so you made no sudden moves to wake yourself up any faster than you had to.
"I'm making tea if you want any, I've got, like, coffee too if that's more your style." He offered, lifting the kettle when it began sputtering again.
"Either's good, thanks..." You yawned. Stretching your arms above your head with a groan you finally stood up to pop your back.
"It wasn't too cold, was it? I'm used to it so I can't really tell but...I can see how it might be uncomfortable if you're not." He asked, glancing back with a worried expression as poured the steaming water into two mugs. Before answering you glanced around the interior of the bus; even the windows were frosted over and when you stepped off your blankets you could feel the cold metal floor through your socks, but surprisingly enough, lying on the floor next to the heater wasn't bad at all, the little circle of heat it provided was more than enough to keep you comfortably warm all night as long as you didn't roll too far away.
"It wasn't bad at all actually, I was pleasantly surprised!" He held a cup out to you and you took it before sitting back down next to the heater again. "It definitely felt like a sleepover." You joked.
"Haha..." Dallas rubbed that back of his neck bashfully. "Sorry, about that."
"Nah, I'm not complaining." You assured.
"Oh! But hey, now that you're up-" He walked backward away from you, making finger guns until he backed into the chest freezer he had against the wall. "We can have breakfast." He finished, turning to lift the lid and root around inside. "We've gotttt....meatloaf," He lifted a TV dinner to wave it at you, "oooor lasagna, heck yeah, take your pick."
"Meatloaf!" You answered quickly.
"Good choice, good choice," you could see him nodding, still bent over in the freezer as he shuffled a few things around then stood back up with your breakfasts in hand. "Lasagna it is for me then." He celebrated, slamming the lid with a thud, and walked over to his little kitchenette to start microwaving them. Yours he finished first and handed it to you cautiously, it was hot enough that it burned you even through your pajama bottoms so you used a pillow as a tray so you could set it on your lap.
"Thanks, Dallas, you're a peach." Tearing the film from the top you decided to let it cool first when you saw the way it was still steaming "I always look forward to your cooking." You joked.
"Glad to hear it!" He grinned, taking a seat across the heater from you on the ground on his own nest of blankets. "You, like...might have to do without it for a while though."
"Aww, and why's that?" You didn't stay over at Dallas' too often unless you were helping him work on something since he had a habit of getting distracted very easily and dropping everything when one of his friends showed up
"I'm gonna be out of town for a while, until after after New Years at least."
"Wait, really? Why's that?" You weren't surprised by the fact that he had a trip planned, just that he'd be gone that long during the holidays.
"There's this big winter festival a few towns over, runs from mid-December to a few days into January. I go every year and set up a stand with a buddy of mine. Together, we make enough cash to last us both till spring, so I gotta capitalize while the chance presents itself. I'll be heading out on the 13th."
"I...I can understand that, I guess I'm just kind of bummed you won't be here for Christmas. I was hoping to spend a little bit of time with everybody in town. It won't be the same without you..." You gave him a sad smile.
Dallas looked surprised by your comment, a dark pink rushing to his cheeks as he rubbed the back of his neck. "Haha, wow, flower power, no one's ever really given a hoot about where I end up during the holidays..."
"I'm sure that's not true."
"You'd...you'd be surprised." Dallas seemed to be avoiding eye contact but quickly shook his bashfulness off with a deep breath. "I'm leaving this next week, but I'll be sure to stop by and say goodbye. Unless...you wanna come too? There's always room by the heater for one more."
"Gah, don't offer me that, you know I'd love to, I just-"
"Nah, it's all good, I was joking...mostly. I wouldn't pull you out on the road during the holidays." He chuckled. "Feels kinda nice to know you're thinking about me though..."
"Well expect nothing less from now on, we can do something when you get back since you're gonna miss New Years! And since Christmas is right around the corner, I'll just give you your gift now."
"You, like, actually got me something? For realll???"
"Well, duh! It's at my house though..." You thought to yourself for a moment and then began quickly shoveling your food into your mouth, stopping halfway and setting it to the side to stand up. "Come on, get this thing started we'll go get it right now!" You waved him over as you skipped toward the driver's seat.
"O-oh, right now?!" He followed your lead, eating quickly, but carried the rest of his with him as he stood up and followed you, finishing it on the way and tossing the empty container to the side as he stepped past you and sat behind the wheel. "Okay, buckle up! I'll have to get you back though, so expect some prrretty fancy souvenirs when I get back!"

K for thr Christmas prompts? Boris has learned he can give platonic kisses to his friends and he will absolutely stop at nothing to smother FK in affection
Anon, you read my mind!
K: "Why are there so many mistletoe?"
~
"Let's go!" Boris cheered and you couldn't help but laugh yourself as you leaned closer to the seats upfront to better join in on his excitement. "It's going to be so pretty when we're done with it! Oh! And you'll get to see what we've done with the inside too! Kamal and I have been decorating allll morning!" He reached over the tree that was shoved awkwardly up through the middle of the car and held some of the branches down so he could look at you as he spoke. "And once we're done, we can help you decorate yours as well! Kamal taught me how to make popped corn strings, I am not very good at eet..." He flexed his hands, clearly referencing their size, "but we can work on them together!"
It was nice to see him so excited, and the way he'd been raving the whole way back had erased most of the reservations you'd been holding onto. Now you couldn't help but feel excited at the idea of celebrating alongside them. There was so much to do and what felt like so little time but you didn't feel overwhelmed at all, content to let the two of them take the wheel as you followed along.
"Okay!" Kamal came to a stop at the front of their house, patting the wheel once he'd put the car in park, and leaned around the back of the seat to eye you as well as Boris. "I'll leave getting our tree inside to you two while I start setting things set up to decorate." He glanced down at the tree in the middle of the car. "We'll just leave the kids in here for now and get it to their place later, sound like a plan?"
"Gotcha!"
"Alrighty :-)"
You and Boris both agreed, and Kamal nodded, undoing his seat belt to step out of the car. "Good deal!" Before you or Boris had moved to make it out yourself he was already on his way to the front door, unlocking it and looking back once with a strange kind of smile before disappearing inside. If you'd stopped to think about it you may have found that suspicious but your focus moved back to Boris who'd stepped around the car to open your door for you.
"Thanks, B."
"You are welcome!" The two of you got to work unstrapping the tree from the roof of the car, and as he had before, Boris threw it over his shoulder with ease.
"I'll go get the door!" You offered and started your way up their pathway ahead of him. But you only made it halfway before you stopped just a few feet from the steps leading inside, your gaze flicking to the rows of garland that lined their windowsills. It wasn't that it shocked you or anything, you were just surprised you hadn't noticed it before. That wasn't all either, there was a large wreath hung on their front door, and while they weren't on in the daylight, you could see strands of lights strung along the roof and window frames as well.
"Oh! Do you like it?" Pulling you from thought, you turned back to see Boris admiring the decorations directly behind you. You almost apologized for stopping so suddenly, as he was still holding the tree over his shoulder, but the smile on his face and ease at which he stepped up beside you told you he didn't seem to be having any trouble at all. "I put everything up this morning while Kamal was doing the inside."
"You-" You had to duck as he spun around, the large tree on his shoulder almost taking your head off. "- you did all this just today?"
"Mmhm." He nodded then motioned to the baren trees that sat at either side of their yard. "There are lights in the trees too! You can't see it very well right now but it is going to be so pretty tonight, I can not wait!"
"I bet it will." You agreed quietly, "Okay, let's not keep Kamal waiting!"
"Okee!" With Boris close behind, you hurried to the door opening it rather dramatically to announce your presence, and stepped through the threshold.
"Kamal, we've got it!" While Kamal couldn't be seen, the table that usually sat by the stairs had been pulled out, and right in the corner was what you could only assume was the tree stand surrounded by a few cardboard boxes. "Kamal?" You questioned, looking around the room. 'Must have gone off to get something. You reasoned internally. "Okay, Boris, looks like he wants it over-" You began, taking your first step into the living room, but the sound of something hitting the ground behind you caught your attention and as you turned your head to see what it was, a pair of large arms reached up from under your own and pulled you backward, colliding your back softly into the chest of the person behind you.
"Mwah~" Before you could question it, Boris, who had bent down to pull you back against him, leaned his head over your shoulder and placed a large smooch on your right cheek.
"Wha?!" You let out a small startled sound, almost falling backward in surprise if not for the fact you were being held from behind. Locking his fingers, he rested his head on your shoulder with a satisfied look. "What was that for?!" You questioned, your face growing a light shade of pink.
"Look up!" He answered excitedly and you did, cocking your head up alongside him.
Letting out a small chuckle, you did your best to look back at him despite your snuggled posting. Hanging directly above you in the doorway you'd chosen to stop under was a sprig of mistletoe. "You were waiting for this weren't you?"
"Maybe~"
"Alright, you got me, let's get going." You patted his hand and attempted to take a step forward but didn't get anywhere when he didn't let go
"Mmmm. " He hummed reluctantly, mischief clear in his voice and you were about to brace yourself for another smooch when another voice chimed in.
"Come on, you know the rules, bud, only one kiss each time." Kamal finally appeared from the hallway, now wearing a Santa hat that he adjusted as he spoke. Once he'd reached the beginning of the stairs he leaned against the banister to grin at your situation. "Can't keep em there all day y'know."
You weren't sure you'd even heard that rule before but you weren't about to dispute it, side-eyeing your captor who was now pouting in defeat. "Hmph..." He finally lifted his head from your shoulder and released you, and you took the opportunity to quickly step out from under the mistletoe.
Resting a hand on your cheek you looked up to see him smiling down at you brightly, clearly still happy to have gotten at least one smooch in. "This is already my favorite of the Christmas traditions!" He snickered, bending down to pick up the tree he had tossed aside earlier to catch you by surprise, and stepped past you as you worked to unfluster yourself.
"Best watch it, kid, he'll get ya on the way out too." Kamal joked, and you rolled your eyes, rubbing your cheek in embarrassment. You were happy to have something to change the subject when you noticed Boris placing the tree into its stand and ran over to begin screwing it into place as he held it steady.
"I'll go get it some water!" You offered and stood to begin heading to the kitchen. While you probably should have seen it coming, your mind was already doing its best to move on and before you'd made it through the doorway into the kitchen, you were scooped up from under the arms and lifted into the air.
"Mmmwah!" On the same cheek but much more drawn out, another smooch was placed and you wondered how the heck he managed to catch up to you so quickly. Looking up you weren't surprised to see yet another mistletoe hanging in the doorless doorframe that separated their living room and kitchen.
"You have got to be kidding me... Why are there so many mistletoe?" You raised your hands to cover your face.
"I would never kid about Christmas keeses!" Boris announced proudly, not yet setting you back down.
Peering through your fingers you locked eyes with Kamal who was once again snickering at your situation. "Gotta be more careful than that, kid, it's the season of peace and love after all, and the big guy's goin' all out on the latter." He nodded towards the entrance to the hall and you noticed a mistletoe hanging above there as well as one above the door that lead to their garage and the door that lead to their back yard from the kitchen. While you had yet to check the rest of the house, something told you you were going to find them under every doorway you'd come across in here.
"Indeed." Boris agreed.
"Better keep an eye out." Kamal winked and casually stepped past the two of you, making you raise an eyebrow.
"Hey, why doesn't Kamal get a kiss?" You asked, wondering why you were the only one being thrown under the bus of affection.
"Ugh, do not get me started..." Boris groaned pouting once more as Kamal laughed triumphantly
"You can't kiss somebody when they're wearin' a Santa hat cause it makes Mrs.Claus jealous. It's mistletoe 101." Kamal explained, an all too cheeky wink following as you narrowed your eyes at him.
"That's..." You were about to point out that Kamal had just made that up but Boris interrupted you.
"Yes, quite unfair, I know, but rules are rules...." He sighed, "But just you wait, Kamal, I am going to catch you soon, you can not hide under that hat forever~"
"We'll see about that." The two of them shared a challenging look, then Boris' eyes perked up with inspiration.
"Oh! I just had an idea!" He finally set you down as he spoke.
"What's that, bud?"
"If eet is only one kees a mistletoe, then if I hang more than one at each spot, I can give more than one kees, correct?"
"No!"
"Makes sense to me." You and Kamal answered simultaneously but he only took the latter's answer to heart.
"Goodie!" With a gentle pat on your head, he skipped out of your way and to their garage. "I will be riiight back!"
"..."
"How many...mistletoe does he have?"
"You don't wanna know."
"...."
"You think that's bad? Just wait until he figures out he can wear one."
"Give me the hat, Kamal."
"Ha, not on your life."

Anything you can do with prompt D for Trevor and Nat? Maybe Trencil too!
Another little one, hope you like!
D: "Your hands are freezing!" "It's not that bad... Woah, wait, what are you doing!?"
~
One reluctant step out onto the ice was enough to confirm his lack of balance as he struggled to make it the rest of the way out, giving up when his leg once again began to slip out beneath him and he stepped back into the snow.
"What are you waiting for, I'm not gonna be waiting for you all day you know," Nat called over her shoulder, already making herself at home on the frozen lake as she glided over the ice with ease. "This was your idea after all." She smirked, spinning on her skates to face him but didn't slow her pace, rounding the lake once again, this time backwards as she watched her friend.
"R-right! I'll be right out, just pumping myself up!" Trevor insisted, inching closer to the ice once more. Even on land, the blades of the skates under his feet made his knees buckle and he struggled to keep himself upright, but with a determined look, he readjusted his scarf and stepped out onto the ice fully. He only slid a few inches, holding his arms out for balance and keeping his legs locked in places until his nervousness worse off and he smiled excitedly.
"Look, Nat, I'm doing it!" He yelled, raising an arm to wave at her but quickly pulled it back down to help steady himself when he began to slide again.
"Hey, way to go." She praised dryly as she skated by him, giving a slow applause. "Loosen up a little and we can race."
"Hehehe, don't expect me to hold back!" Trevor pointed a thumb inward proudly but went right back to fumbling to stay still. Once he had regained his balance again he looked downward, focusing on his feet, and began inching forward as he baby stepped across the ice.
"You look like a penguin." Nat joked as she passed him once again then and with a deep breath, he finally pushed himself forward after her. He didn't make it very far, still too wobbly to try to move too much, he continued the motion, stiffly making his way around the pond.
"Piece of cake!" Trevor gloated, coming to a stop once he completed a single round. "Hey, Mr. Varnia, aren't you going to be skating?"
Trencil sat on a bench off to the side of the pond. He was in no way dressed for this kind of weather, dawning his usual summer gardening attire as he relaxed unbothered and immersed in the pages of a book. 'I guess that's one of the perks of being a vampire...' Trevor thought, looking back to Nat who shared her father's disregard for the cold.
"Hm?" Lowering his book, Trencil gave the boy an easy smile and an absent-minded wave "Oh, no thank you. You two have fun."
Before Trevor could respond, Nat rushed by him again, this time gripping him by the wrist and pulling him along with her. "You know you're gonna be out here all day if you never get any momentum going."
"I- auah!" His legs nearly slid out from under him again even as she guided him but he eventually regained control, going stiff once more as she took control and pulled him along.
"Don't make me do all the work, you're still waaay too stiff." She continued, rolling her eyes when he only glanced down at the ice that was now speeding by underneath them. "I won't let you fall just try to move around a little."
"G-got it!" Letting go of one of her hands he stuck an arm out for balance squeezed his eyes shut, attempting to replicate her movement as he kicked back against the ice and sent the two of them spinning.
It was a little out of control but Nat laughed and he gripped her other hand again as the two of them swung around the ice, eventually coming to stop in the middle of the pond. "Not bad!" She praised much more genuinely this time.
"You think so?" Trevor perked up and she scoffed, rolling her eyes once again playfully. "Well if you think that's cool just wait until you see me do this!" He squeezed her hands and was about to try again but came to a sudden stop when he felt her fingers between his.
"What's wrong? Your tongue finally freeze up or something?"
"Woah, your hands are freezing!" He remarked breathily. His gloves were fingerless, leaving his own hands slightly bitten by the cold but they were comparably warm brushing over her smaller ones.
"Dude, my hands are always cold." She remarked, raising an eyebrow at him amusedly.
"Here," Releasing her, Trevor began unwrapping his scarf, reaching for her again once he had it off.
"What are you doing?" She questioned, uncharacteristically letting him take her hands on his own and he began wrapping his scarf around them.
"There you go! Normally, I wouldn't let anybody touch my monster hunting scarf, but I think you need it more than I do right now."
"Tch..." She scoffed again once he had finished, squeezing the soft material against her palms. "...Thanks." Glancing down at the scarf, she held out her hands once more and he took them eagerly
"Of course! It's only the gentlemanly thing to doOAAAH!" Gripping his hands tightly, she swung him in a circle then let go quickly, sending him sliding across the ice on his own until he hit the edge of the pond and fell backwards into the snow.
"What did I just tell you about standing around? Now come on, no more excuses, let's race!"

Would you be able to do something with theme either 1 or 2 and dialog prompt E with any of the kids (Millie, Tim Tam, Putunia) and the Reader/Fk? I think those would fit nice together!❄
I went with theme 2, if that's okay! And thank you for requesting!
2: Sledding.
E: "I promised your parents I wouldn't land you in a snowy grave."
~
"Hurry up!!!"
The voice of the young girl that wasted no time running ahead called out to you as you trailed a few feet behind her. But as brisk as your pace was, you couldn't quite keep up, even after she rushed back down to your side, ran a circle around you, then took the lead again to make her point. "We've got to be the first ones down!"
"I don't think that's gonna be an issue, Putunia." You smiled, continuing upward at your own speed and glancing around at the snowy hillside you were climbing. The only footprints to be seen were the ones that trailed behind you, accompanied by the tracks of the sled you'd been pulling along. Without coming to a stop you turned your head back towards the passenger that rode inside it. "How're you two holding up?"
Millie had been leaning over the back, fixated on the bottom of the hill as you scaled farther away from it but she turned around quickly at your question, sitting back down with a plop and crossing her arms. "Fine, let's just get this over with, it's freezing out here!" Sitting directly in front of her was Tim Tam, they seemed to be preoccupied staring mindlessly into the white that coated the ground, and after a second they reached their mittened hand out into it, leaving a small trail along the side of the sled as it passed through the snow.  Putunia had been a part of your little chauffeuring originally as well, but it didn't take long for her to get restless and jump out into the snow herself when she found your pace far too slow.
"We're almost there." You assured. Turning back towards the hill's summit, you added a little more pep to your step and broke into a small jog to catch up with Putunia since she'd gone on quite far ahead without you. "Hey, wait up!" You called out as you sped ahead, chuckling quietly at the startled sound Millie made behind you when your sudden speed took her by surprise.
Surprising even yourself, you eventually caught up to Putunia, but that was probably because she came to a stop herself to let you catch up, which you were thankful for, cold air always made it harder to catch your breath. "Come one, you've almost made it!" She cheered as you started moving again and she circled you once more. This time coming up behind the sled you pulled to begin pushing it. She kicked up the snow a little as she struggled to build momentum but as soon as she got it moving you released the reigns and stepped aside as she began pushing it upwards all on her own, receiving more than one complaint from Millie at her much more careless ascension. "We gotta go go go!"
"N-not so fast!"
Putunia's energy was contagious, and now that you didn't have your passengers to worry about, you ran after the three of them at full speed, finally reaching the top in just a few seconds. "Phew...", you left out a sigh, pulling the collar of your jacket over your mouth to breathe in the warmer air and catch your breath again.
When Millie and Tim Tam finally stepped out of the sled Putunia was quick to pick it up, lifting it over her head as she ran along the hilltop looking for the best place to sled down. Tim Tam followed after her and Millie shuffled over to stand beside you. They insisted, well, perhaps it would be better to say that Putunia insisted on sledding down the biggest hill in town and this was it. The only one not covered in trees at least and it offered a nice view of the suburbs below. You had to admit, looking down from the top had you wonder if this was a good idea.
Millie must have had the same idea because you noticed her uncomfortably shuffling beside you as she stared down the almost 400ft drop. Squatting down to her level, you absent-mindedly adjusted her beenie, pulling it down over her ears. "You ready? It's pretty cold out here, I'm still surprised it snowed this much this early." You asked and she quickly swatted at your hands, pulling it down rather harshly herself.
"Maybe you're surprised, but it always snows early around here." She scoffed, but it wasn't nearly as hostile as it usually was.
"Really? I'll have to remember that."
"Yeah." She sighed, and perhaps she wasn't as worried as you'd thought as her expression turned almost friendly when she turned to watch her friends. Putunia placed the sled down and stuck her tongue out as she examined its trajectory, even picking Tim Tam up and setting them inside as she adjusted its position.
There was one moment in which your heart skipped a beat when the sled began moving downhill on its own with Tim Tam inside but Putunia was quick to catch it, pulling it back up before the back end made it over the side.
Startling both of you, Putunia jumped upwards and yelled in your direction. "WE'RE READY!"
"Took you long enough!" Millie was quick to run over to join them, but before anyone had a chance to climb inside you cut in.
"Alright, Tim Tam in the front, then Putunia, then Millie, and I'll ride in the back."
Putunia slouched over, her former enthusiasm falling somewhat. "Aww, come on! You were supposed to ride in the front cause you're the biggest, that way we'll go faster!"
"Normally, yeah, that's how it works, but not when we're going down the biggest hill in town. I told you'd I go down with you but I want to be able to stop us easy if we start going too fast."
"Too fast?!" Putunia questioned, her jaw dropping. "There no such thing as too fast!"
"Maybe in your book, but I promised your parents I wouldn't land you in a snowy grave if I let you do this."
"Awww..."
"Ah, let her sit in the back, Tuny. This way you get to steer anyways." Millie rolled her eyes.
"Really!?" Her former excitement returned fully as she bounced on her heels.
"Yep, just think of me as the breaks." You joke as the four of you began piling into the sled. Putunia was the first in, bouncing in her seat as Tim Tam sat down in front of her. Being the smallest, Putunia was able to easily grip the reigns of the sled from around them and was tugging them eagerly, probably already playing out your decent in her head as she jumped back to her feet in the sled and pretend to move as though she was surfing.
Millie sat down next, much more cautiously as to not move the sled and once she was down she placed a hand on Putunia's shoulder, yanking the much more excited girl down with her. "We can't go if you're standing up, you know, dummy."
Before you joined them you pulled the sled back a few inched just to be safe and took a look down the hill. All things considered, Putunia did choose a pretty good spot, it looked like you'd just breeze between the houses at the bottom of the hill from here if she was able to keep it straight. The only problem it could present would be accidentally sledding into the street but you'd just have to make sure to stop before then.
"Okay..." you began, stepping over the end of the sled, you lowered yourself, and with a huff, let yourself fall into a sitting position. The four of you all just barely fit and your legs straddled the three of them, stopping only an inch or two from the front of the sled. If you had been any taller this might have been quite uncomfortable. You did a quick test to see if you could throw your leg over the side quickly and did so with no problem, knocking the snow off against the side before putting it back in. "Everyone ready?" You asked, leaning your arms out the back to get a hold on the ground.
Millie scooted back closer to you and gripped the sides of the sled, Putunia cheered loudly and Tim Tam rested both of their hands on the tops of your boots. "I'll take that as a yes!"
In a few quick motions, you lurched the sled forward with your collective weight, inching it towards the edge and planting your hands in the snow once you'd gotten close enough. "Here we go!" You warned, gripping the ground, and with a pull, teetered the front half of the sled over the edge of the incline, letting go and letting gravity do the rest as you began to slide.
It started slowly as expected but as soon as the sled sunk itself into the snow it glided down through the thick white with no problem. You had to admit you felt something that could only be described as giddiness when you began to pick up speed, even if you were originally here just to watch the kids you couldn't help but get lost in the thrill yourself.
"WOO HOO!" Putunia cheered and you joined her, even raising your arms for effect.
"Woo hoo!"
Even Millie was smiling silently, a wide, excited grin spread across her face and she even released the sides of the sled to place her hands on Putunia's shoulder and lean over her to look forward. "Way to go, red." She praised and Putunia laughed proudly, whipping the reins of the sled as if it was what was making you go faster.
Tim Tam you didn't have to worry much about, they still held onto your boots that they sat between and you wondered briefly if they were doing so for security or because they had plans to steal your socks later. Either way, they hadn't jumped out so they were probably having just as much fun as the other two.
Halfway down the slope you began rapidly picking up speed, and you scooted back as much as you could, gripping the sides of the sled yourself in preparation to begin slowing down. Then in a slow movement that went unnoticed by the other passengers, you hung your leg out over the side a few inches from the ground and carefully lowered it. But a startled sound left your mouth when you found it harder than you'd originally thought, your boot easily dug through the snow but you lifted your leg up again when it uncomfortably crashed into the ground that sped by underneath you. You were going way too fast and there was way too much weight in the sled, at least, a lot more than you were used to when you sledded by yourself as a kid. You were sure you could stop it if you stuck both of your legs out, but at the speed you were going you'd probably flip the sled so you didn't really want to have to do that with the kids inside if you didn't have to.
Millie was the only one to pay your little moment any mind, glancing back at you with a questioning look on her face; she then looked forward once more and then back to you with a lot more worry. It was then that noticed you were nearly at the bottom, heading straight for the street below and still at full speed.
"Alright, everybody, hold on, we're coming to a stop!" You announced loudly and threw your leg over the side again.
"Aww, man..." Putunia groaned. "We can go again though, right?" She turned to look at you pleadingly but her eyes widened when she noticed you struggling to stop. "Oh! Let me help!". She smiled and turned back to the front of the sled but by the time you noticed what she was doing it was already too late.
"Putunia, wait we're still going too-" With a hard tug she pulled on the reigns of the sled and forced all of her weight to the side; she was trying to break into a drift. Instead, however, because you were still trying awkwardly to slow down, the sled turned quite wildly, snow flying into the side until you spun a full 180. "-too fast!" You finished frantically, now watching the hill's incline get farther and farther away.
"Hey, look! Now you are riding in the front!" Putunia, gasped, obviously missing the urgency of the situation. Millie seemed to be the only one besides you that was concerned with your collective position and she quickly spun around on her knees to face you and watch where you were headed.
"D-do something!"
"I-" You turned your head around just in time to see the way you finally descended the rest of the hill, passing between houses that sat at the bottom and going right out into the street. You reached forward and pulled Millie into you, clamping your eyes shut tightly and bracing yourself for impact as you felt pavement scrape the bottom of the sled.
When you finally opened them a few seconds later all you could see was white. Like, literally, you were surrounded by white, your entire body encased by a soft pressure. Attempting to shake it off you immediately recognized it as snow as it fell onto your face and you actually had to struggle to get up, finally managing to pop your head out into the light. You laid back half-buried in a fleshly plowed snowbank on the opposite side of the street, your head and left arm being the only things now not hidden by the snow as you tried to collect your thoughts.
Snapping you out of your shock, something touched your cheeks from above and you leaned your head back, coming into direct eye contact with Tim Tam. They stood right above your head, light enough to not sink into the snow themselves as they leaned over your face, resting their hands against your cheeks and staring into your eyes. Their hat was nowhere to be seen and their cheeks and nose were tinged a little darker than usual thanks to the cold no doubt.
For a moment you were so startled you couldn't respond and only stared back. "Tim Tam!" You yelled in relief and they took a step back when you shuffled to stand up, making the mistake of trying to prop yourself up against the snow only for it to give out under your weight and make fall back into it. "Where- where are the others?!" You asked, finally making it to your feet as you tried to kick away the waist-high snow surrounding you. Tim Tam didn't respond but looked to the left of the snowbank and you quickly followed their gaze.
"Uuuuuh..." A silent groan sounded from that direction and you rushed over, nearly falling again as you waded through the snow.
"Millie?"
Her head popped up on cue and she began shaking the snow out of her hair as she looked around. "Ugh, what happened?"
"We crashed." You replied flatly, helping her up as your worried expression returned. "Are you okay?"
"Huh?" She raised an eyebrow then took off her hat, shaking the snow from it as well. "Oh- oh yeah, I'm okay." She didn't seem quite sure at first, but her confidence returned once she'd stepped out of the snowbank and brushed herself off. "Looks like we stuck the landing." She joked and you smiled.
"Good, then we just need to find.."
"THAT. WAS. AWESOME!" You and Millie both jumped in surprise as Putunia burst up from the snow, sled held high above her head and you let out a sigh of relief.
"Putunia, I'm glad you're okay..."
"That was amazing, I've never gone down backwards before! Let's do it again!" Before you could stop her the young girl was already on her way back across the street and up the hill. Millie began to run after her but stopped when she noticed you still standing in shock.
"Well? What are you waiting for, we can't let her have all the fun, can we?" She questioned with a snarky smile and Tim Tam strode up to your side, placing a hand on your pant leg and giving it a small tug. Taking a deep breath your smile had returned and you picked them up, placing them on your shoulders and running after Putunia and Millie with a yell.
"I'm riding in the front this time!"

Unusual traditions for the Botch family holidays?
17: Unusual Traditions
~
"I don't...I don't want to do this!" Parsley groaned, bonking his head against the passenger side window.
"Well too bad! We're hosting dinner this year and you're the eldest you're the one that's got to do it." Jimothan replied with a grunt,
"I'm you're ONLY son."
"Which makes you the eldest by default... and stop hugging that thing!"
"How else am I supposed to hold it?" Parsley asked, glancing down at the full-sized turkey gobbler that sat comfortably in his lap, seemingly unbothered by its unlikely position in the passenger seat of a pick-up truck.
"Under your arm and by the neck, if you have to carry it somewhere, but it shouldn't be up here in the first place, it's supposed to be in the cage in the back!"
"Yeah, but he seemed nervous." The turkey let put a quiet gobble, veering its head around brainlessly as Parsley adjusted his hold on it.
"He- it is gonna be Christmas dinner, so you'd best not let it get too comfy." A moment of silence passed and Jimothan tore his eyes away from the road to look to his son "Don't look at me like that now, it's just a bird and you're gonna be the one to clean it."
"Sorry, buddy..." Parsley frowned, giving the bird a sympathetic look as he reached up to pat its head.
"Oh, come on, son, don't make this any- SHOOT!" In an instant the screeching of breaks was all that was heard as something flew across the road ahead of them and Jimothan swerved to avoid it, doing so successfully but the chaos didn't come to a stop, startling their third passenger as they were now faced with a different issue, the frightened turkey flapping frantically around the dashboard as Parsley struggled to calm it down.
"Darn kids! Get that thing down!" Jimothan yelled, unable to come to a safe stop as he struggled to watch the road over the sporatic movement of the bird that flapped every which way in the front seats.
"I'm trying, stop the truck!"
The breaks screeched again as this time they came to a rough stop, the truck bouncing as they straddled the curb and Jimothan released the wheel, raising his arms to shield himself from the turkey that had landed firmly in his lap, wings raised in alarm.
Still cautious he glared at his son. "What did I tell you about bringing this thing up here?!" He groaned, eyeing the pissed off animal with poorly hidden fear as Parsley reached for it slowly.
"Shh! You're gonna scare him more." He warned, raising one finger to his mouth. "Sorry about the scare, buddy." But even as Parsley reached for it it reared its neck and flapped its wing, smacking Jimothan in the process.
"Would you just grab it already?!"
Ignoring his dad completely, Parsley kept his eyes focused on the bird. "Come on, Mar- mar...Marvin! Do you like that name? Come here, Marvin." Parsley sat back down, patting his lap beckoningly.
"You don't seriously think that's gonna work? And I told you not to name it!" Before Jimothan could finish, his mouth fell agape as the turkey lowered its wings and jumped from his lap, resuming its place on Parsley's in the passenger side with a small coo.
"Good boy!" Parsley praised, petting its back as it settled down into the calm position it had earlier.
"You've got to be kidding me..." All Jimothan could do was stare as Parsley gave him a snarky side-eye, scratching the satisfied-looking bird under the chin. Then with a sigh of defeat, he restarted the truck and pulled out his phone, making a call as he backed up and pulled back onto the road for home. "Yeah, yeah, it's me. Call your Aunt Pat and tell her to make room in her pen for another one, I failed again. Guess we'll have to try again next year..."

Alright, Christmas prompt requests are officially closed !🎄
A big thank you to everyone that requested, and an apology to everyone who's requests I didn't get to! You all had such awesome ideas and there were a couple I really wanted to get done, but in the end they would have dragged on until after New Years, so if you're still hanging around by next year I look forward to doing this again!
Oh, and I'll be going back to working on regular requests after the New Year too, I've had a lot of fun writing lately and I'd like to keep up the momentum!

DOTA SECRET SANTA 2021
It’s (nearly) October, so here we are again!
Examples of requests:
- [insert character here] all warm and toasty and happy by a fireside
- [insert characters here] exchanging Christmas gifts (sexily or non-sexily)
Your requests don’t have to be seasonal-themed, request whatever you like!
4. Whether you would be able to pinch-hit (fill an extra gift if needed).
5.  Whether you would like to remain anonymous to your gift recipient and/or on the master-post of entries (which will be posted up on Tumblr a few days after gift exchange)
———-   DEADLINES   ————–
Applications:  5th November 2021, 00:00 GMT
    > The randomised requests will be sent out to everyone a couple of days after the closing deadline for applications
Gift submission: 20th December 2021, 22:00 GMT
    > Please submit your completed gifts to [email protected]
GIFT EXCHANGE WILL TAKE PLACE ON 24th December 2021 (time TBC. evening, GMT)
- I’ll be tracking the tumblr tag ‘dota secret santa 2021’. If you have any issues, inbox me, email me or DM me on Twitter! (link above)
There’s also a Discord group - please let me know if you’d like an invite!
- GL HF!
