Crossroads in Seoul
Tumblr media
Pairing: Fiona Lee Yu Ying (fictional) x Lee Seokmin
Genre: AU, Romance, Chicklit, Mature
Status: On going
Link: Wattpad
Summary:
Fiona's the ultimate city nomad, going from Kuala Lumpur one day to some far-off place the next, all for the job she holds dear.
In the middle of all this hustle, her personal life's got its own set of hurdles. She's hanging onto bits of a connection that she kinda knew wasn't the real deal. But she's still holding tight, like it's hard to let go.
In all actuality, the life she's been living carved a hollow in her heart, a gap that's like a puzzle missing pieces. She's got this urge to start anew, to leave it all behind, but the unknown's a bit scary. And being alone again? Well, that's not a thrilling idea.
Then, boom, Seoul happens. She meets this guy with a heart of gold, a smile that could light up the night, and charisma that's practically electric. And guess what? In no time, he's her sunshine on a cloudy day. Love sparks, and it's like a mutual thing. But wait for it: Fiona's work gig there is just a month.
Talk about a curveball.
Warnings: alcohol, non-consensual, attempted sexual assault, suicide/attempted suicide, and mental health issue. If you are sensitive to anything mentioned, this story isn't for you.
Author notes: Hi, this is my first time posting some of my writing on internet. I have always writing some story over the past years, and this story is one of it. Only, I've adapted Dokyeom of Seventeen (Lee Seokmin) character into this. But not 100% similar to his behavior or personality as seen on screen, because that is not my goal. It's an alternate universe fanfic. There are times I'm in doubt of posting this, even now. But, if I don't do it, I wouldn't know right? So any criticisms will be well accepted.  Without further ado, the background of this story are set between Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur) and South Korea (Seoul). While it is adapting a real life experience, most of it have been changed to fit in the story better. It centered around the life of Fiona, a woman in her 30 facing her midlife crisis. Meanwhile, the other characters are mostly in their late 20s, working environment.    Almost every chapter starts with the main character's point-of-view, and some parts are in third point-of-view. I also used some Korean terms, like ahjumma, oppa, unnie, nuna, and many more. I'll add in the translation in the text. It is not entirely a lighthearted story, but it is also not entirely dark. Everything I've mentioned in the warnings are handled with a great deal of sensitivity and care. With hope that I didn't offend anybody.   Lastly, English isn't my first language here, but I tried my best. So I'm sorry if there is any grammatical errors. And I hope you enjoy.

i went to the hybe daydream believers exhibition in kuala lumpur & here are my thoughts (long story short: it is not worth it)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
for some context, this is how the organisers described the event:
The exhibition is showcasing the portraits of 54 artists from 7 groups, along with their journey towards realizing their dreams. Fans will have the opportunity to delve into the backstage stories of BTS, SEVENTEEN, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, ENHYPEN, LE SSERAFIM, fromis_9, and &TEAM.
the exhibition mainly features framed headshots of these idols (many of which you cannot take photos of btw). yes you see their portraits (which literally means photos of them) but you don’t really get to experience the other part of “delving into their backstage stories”.
the exhibition in itself felt extremely underwhelming. it would be worth it if you were allowed to take photos but because you can’t in 4/7 exhibits, it just feels like a waste. i don’t really feel the need to just look at these idols’ face if i wasn’t able to take any photos of them.
if you are happy paying $46 to see pretty photos of your favourite idols then this exhibition would be for you. but for a casual fan like me who only went for seventeen and aren’t really interested in the other groups and was looking forward to more than just seeing their faces, i don’t think it’s worth your money and time.

So, they decided to cancel the rest of the tour because corona virus outbreak
Tumblr media
I'm sad
Really sad
I've been waiting for this since last year
I know this the best for seventeen, staff and carats
But still I'm sad
I've been planned for this KL trip (including watch the concert) for long time
The most devastated things is I've got my VIP tickets with good view
I also planned to meet my friends there...
I'm just sad and disappointed
But that's okay
I'll just go to their concerts and fansign again next time...
Maybe you think why they didn't postpone it? Hoshi already said that they're booked until August. That's why they couldn't postpone it...

200531 ode to you
hahaaaaa I decided to come here :)
just now seventeen released their inside series, featuring the behind-the-scene of ode to you in manila
a bit bitter there
Tumblr media
ode to you in kuala lumpur was two weeks away from manila’s concert. and I tried so hard to not get excited for it because I’m afraid something happen that would make me couldn’t go, from day 148! Manila’s concert, I had my faculty’s exchange program running around and the end of the week, I decided to let it sink; I AM FINALLY GOING TO SEE SEVENTEEN.
...................
but can you imagine how disappointed I was?
pledis announced that all stops after manila are cancelled due to corona. it was 12 pm at my sarawak and I was accompanying delegates for a tour and immediately my mood dropped. LIKE A LOT.
admittedly, I wasn’t at my best self at that day, there were misunderstandings and all, even the night before, I was crying like an idiot in the middle of the night when I couldn’t start nor lock my car and had to get help from my friend (which apparently it’s because I didn’t shift my gears correctly but that also due to the fact that I’m already affected by the dark mood created that night) and I woke up early just to send off the delegates I’ve been making friends with.
AND THE NEWS BROKE. and i have no energy at all. I didn’t bring my car, I rode a bus and I really want to cry, so I told my friend that I had to go back early and book a Grab because damn I’m so tired, and she noticed it too. I had to say my early goodbyes to the delegates too (I’m so sorry, friend, for being unprofessional but I couldn’t make it anymore)
thank god the driver was chatty so he cheered me up without realizing, all the way to my college.
I cried to my pillow as soon as I hit the floor. I was too upset of what happened for the past week and now that my only source in hopes of getting my spirit back got cancelled..
can you just imagine how disappointed I was?
for days I’ve been silently crying (why would I even cry for a kpop group huh?) I was sad because it was kinda like something I was hoping to cheer me up. and seventeen doesn’t always come; they come once a year. so I got so bitter when they released like lots of footage from the previous oty, even got sadder when they released a video of apology for cancelling the concert
I blame the idiots who ate bats and spread covid.
bought a VIP ticket with either soundcheck or send off chance, where send off you get to be in seventeen send off videos; all for my first-timer experience to seventeen’s concert :)
I’m pretty sure seventeen is as bummed as me, and this happened in Feb (now is May) but the pain is still there :) an ode era remains a superior and my favourite era of all from seventeen.
oh well... it was hard writing this, but I never addressed this in a form of writing so now that I wrote it, I’m going to erase this pain.
until then seventeen :) we’ll meet again, me and all 13 of you, when everything passed <3
side note: I found a poem I made in 2017, titled ‘an ode to you’ >< how strong my chemistry with seventeen is this, something I wrote in 2017 happened to have the same name of an album and a concert by seventeen
made me love seventeen even better
