🪻 Hello, it’s been a while since we last spoke here. I’ve taken advantage of the last few weeks to recharge my batteries, as I told you in my previous post, things have been pretty complicated for me lately. I took a break from social networking and it did me a lot of good, to be honest. One difficult thing I’d never really done before was to take things one day at a time. I always had to-dos or things like that to organise my days. Looking back, I realise that I was imposing a schedule on myself or doing things that I didn’t necessarily want to do at the time. As time went by, certain things seemed rather robotic or I felt almost forced to do them. When you create content, you have to be regular, otherwise the algorithms don’t like it very much. You also have to try to offer something on a number of platforms, hence the to-do lists and schedules. After a while, it can seem really energy-consuming and you feel a bit trapped in a machine that’s hard to stop. I think all content creators have already felt this: always doing more, trying to be everywhere, making content for the sake of making content... Sometimes, even if you’re enjoying it, it’s quite robotic and it’s hard to say ‘OK, I’m going to stop producing on this social’ or ‘I’m going to take a break’. And when you’ve got a job on the side, it’s really hard to juggle everything. It’s not easy at all, sometimes it’s OK to say to yourself that you can’t do everything and that you’re going to concentrate on one thing or another. I don’t really like the guilty speeches that aim to say ‘to be a content creator, you have to do this...’, ‘if you aren’t successful, you’re not putting enough energy into it’... I think we already feel guilty enough about this, there’s no need to add to it. For my part, I’m going to try to come back slowly, probably not everywhere, I think I’ll have to make some choices. 🪻 Hello, I’ve made a few minor changes to my setup. The major change I was looking forward to was a falling plant in my cubicles above my setup. I’d found a nice plant, well a droopy plant, I have such a hard time finding them at home. I was surprised because very quickly it became all flaggy and I wondered why, maybe it was the heat. It wasn’t until I repotted it that I realized what a scam it was. The plant had no roots, and the ones in the pot weren’t its own. Not only that, it was just sitting on a little puck of soil. I’m so disgusted, it cost me quite a lot of money on top. I’ve replanted the stems to see if it will grow again, but I don’t hold out much hope. I think I’m going to have to get a fake plant at this rate.
