Amora, thoughts on this? And how can it be applied to the scarabia duo
omg my cousin sent me this video too!!
in regard to JAMIL <3
he definitely gives me cat person vibes (literally everyone in the middle east/north africa is a cat person from armenia to oman to algeria). i headcanon that scarabia has a bunch of cats around the place. jamil carries heavy baskets of laundry while kittens brush by his bare ankles as he walks about.
its so funny to sit beside him while the cats hide under his hair.
"Ah--out of my hair," he grumbles, pulling the kitten away from his hair. Its tiny claws were clinging to the thick strands, tangling them up with its excitable movements. When he sees the amusement on your face, he rolls his eyes and places the kitty in your lap, gently. He was always so mindful of how he held them, "Pull their hair instead, Za'afaraan (saffron)," he commands. He named the cats in Scarabia after spices. How cute.
i bet he and his family would go on park days too. it's a quick and cheap way of them getting to enjoy each other's company, but it is always so short lived. his responsibilities to kalim are all consuming.
Najma leaned over and glanced at her brother's phone, "Can't you put that down for a minute, himar (donkey)?" she asked, gesturing to the ma'amoul (date stuffed biscuit) and chai that was in front of them. His father had bought it from the souq (market) and his mother made the tea. It was the recipe she had taught him years ago. Jamil rolled his eyes, and shoved his sister's cheek away, "I need to make sure he stays at the estate." He kept his gaze away from his parents. There had to be some sort of tension and guilt... "Yeah, whatever..." Najma trailed off, before sipping her own tea. Her fingers traced over patterns on the sheet they sat on. Ornate swirls and floral motifs. Her unsaid words were weaving their way into the designs, never to be said, but to be seen in her dark eyes. When was the last time they had even spent family time like this? Her brother sighs and breaks his ma'amoul in half, "Here," he says, setting his phone down. Hopefully for longer than a few minutes.
as for KALIM!!
im sure he loves all animals, but cats?? he loves them, especially big cats. you can't tell me that the al-asim family don't have their own version of raja from aladdin. it gives jamil a heart attack at first, but soon enough this tiger is kalim's favorite thing in the world. the tiger ends up trained to protect and coddle kalim. whenever he's in the scalding sands, after greeting all his siblings, he rushes into the fur of his tiger.
"Ra'isa!" he yells, as he leaps against the large tiger. His arms wrapped around her back and then he nuzzled his cheek to its fur. There was a grin on his face as Ra'isa began to curl her body around him. You just stared in a mix of fear and apprehension. You glance between him and the tiger that was cuddling up to him. Of course, you expected chaos when you decided to visit the Scalding Sands with your boyfriend, but this? "Uhm..? Kalim..?" When his ruby eyes notice the look on your face, he laughs and grabs your hand, pulling you closer, "Don't worry. Ra'isa is very friendly with people I like," he reassures, guiding your hand over her fur. Ra'isa leaned into your touch, sensing her owner's adoration for you. When she curled her head in your direction, her face found its way to your belly, clearing signalling for your to scratch behind her eyes. Kalim leaned against the big cat, watching you with a look of joy. His two favorite people were getting along.
kalim's family is MASSIVE. i don't imagine they all go out too often due to how much security would be needed, but they all definitely have chaotic tea parties. you'd think with all that wealth the kids would not have to fight over who gets the last piece of ma'amoul or the last bite of fatta tamr (yemeni dish. its just small pieces of bint al-sahn mixed with minced dates and honey).
Kalim was holding up a box of assorted Turkish Delights away from all of his younger siblings who immediately rushed to his side when they heard he had brought them. He laughed as they reached up their short arms for the box, "There's enough for everyone, just get into a line," he said. The box was full enough to give each of them three pieces of the treats, and yet they still argued about who would get the first piece.
overall, yeah. arab men aren't scary. they literally kiss their homies good night, since when you greet a friend or are leaving for the night, you kiss each other's cheek.

Odds and Ends:
LUMINOUS AQUATIC WHEELS
On the clear night of May 15, 1879, Commander J.E. Pringle and the crew of HMS Vulture, while in the Persian Gulf, observed a pair of "giant luminous wheels,” over forty yards in diameter, spinning above the water's surface. They were turning in opposite directions at seventy-five rotations per minute. From the mizzen top, it could be seen that the phosphorescent wheels were traveling parallel and sinking into the water, lighting up the bottoms of the quarter boats as they passed under the boat. The spectacle lasted just over half an hour.
In May 1880, Captain Avern and his third officer aboard the British East India Company steamer, the Patna, had a similar experience. Near 11:30 p.m., on a dark night, enormous luminous wheels appeared on either side of the ship; each wheel contained sixteen spokes 250 yards long and were clearly visible all the way around. The spinning circles seemed to touch the ship's side and escorted the vessel for more than fifteen minutes.
In May 1983, Chief Officer P. Newton, commanding the MV Mahsuri, was navigating through the Gulf of Oman when a luminous green shimmer appeared on the horizon. The glow became parallel bands of blue-green light, five yards wide and over 150 yards long. The bands then expanded into horizontal circles spinning just above the water. Astonished, Newton watched silently, wrestling with the feeling that he should duck as a randomly flashing light show surrounded the vessel. Pale green and gold bands continually changed into wheels and disappeared unpredictably off in the distance, only to be replaced with another set. The ship seemed to be accompanied by the center of the circles until it crossed a distinct, but undefined barrier.

'Why do we need pride month' aka my y11 gcse speech
My first memory was small, little, 5-year-old me, looking in the mirror and thinking, “You do not look like a [my deadname]”. That’s the first thought I can remember, word for word. Looking in the mirror and not recognizing the face that looks back, is not the biggest hardship these people face. Now I am not the only person who has had these experiences, in the 2021 UK census, 0.5% of the population said that their gender was different from that at birth, and that’s just those over 16 who answered the question. This group of people who are part of the LGBT community.
Now, we all know of the LGBT community, all know people in it, friends, families, acquaintances, celebrities, all that jazz. There is two whole months of celebrating, February and June, LGBT History month and Pride month, respectively. And, well, I’m sure we’ve all heard, maybe said, maybe thought pf a simple question: ‘Why do we need Pride Month?’
Pride Month, set in June, is filled with celebration, parades, floats, weird things in stores that are just there for corporation’s capitalist games. Many of us have issues with the way that companies have commercialised a period of joy and triumph over hardships. By turning this month, a time of celebrating, into a time of consummation of as many distastefully designed products as they can, businesses have ignored the persecution, execution, homicide, and torture inflicted on the LGBT community in favour of making a pretty penny. You might be thinking ‘doesn’t doing it in the name of the community help? No, not when they aren’t working to educate people. Not when they don’t donate even the smallest part of their profit to an LGBT charity, actions speak louder than words, so if these companies are really trying to help, they should practise what they preach.
You may think I’m saying: ‘No we don’t need Pride Month,’ but I am instead saying the exact opposite, we need the celebration. We need education on the history, hardships, and rights of a group of people that make up a rough 20% of our world (that is 1 in 5 people). We should donate to charities that help Queer People who are homeless, on the run or being abused because of something that they were literally born as. We must look at our laws and how they prevent those who aren’t cis-het from living a normal life. But we must also step away from looking at the pretty face of Pride and instead see how we can change for the better.
In 2021, there were 375 recorded murders of trans people globally with 95% being trans women. This number has been steadily increasing every year, and I would like you to remember that this is recorded deaths where the motivation was because the victim was trans. In 69 countries it is illegal to be queer (as of 2020)including Barbados, Malaysia, Saint Kitts and Nevis and Liberia (Afghanistan, Algeria, Antigua & Barbuda, Bangladesh, Barbados, Bhutan, Brunei, Burundi, Cameroon, Chad, Comoros, Cook Islands, Dominica, Egypt, Eritrea, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Grenada, Guinea, Guyana, Iran, Jamaica, Kenya, Kiribati, Kuwait, Lebanon, Liberia, Libya, Malawi, Malaysia, Maldives, Mauritania, Mauritius, Morocco, Myanmar, Namibia, Nigeria, Occupied Palestinian Territory (Gaza Strip), Oman, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Qatar, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and The Grenadines, Samoa, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Solomon Islands, Somalia, South Sudan, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Syria, Tanzania, Togo, Tonga, Tunisia, Turkmenistan, Tuvalu, Uganda, Uzbekistan, Yemen, Zambia, Zimbabwe- include list in PowerPoint-)- in fact 70% of the commonwealth it is illegal. Now, here we should be both proud and disturbed that this is something we are proud of, in only 10 countries is homosexuality punished through capital punishment. That is right, being executed because of who you are, including Brunei, Nigeria, Somalia and Yemen. (Afghanistan, Brunei, Iran, Mauritania, Nigeria, Quatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, UAE, and Yemen -include list on PowerPoint-).
In England and Wales only decriminalised male homosexuality in 1967 (with female homosexuals legal throughout time and law which makes relatively little sense because either they didn’t believe lesbians exist or some other strange reason). However, despite being frowned upon, male homosexuality was only punishable by death from 1533 in the UK, another reason to despise Henry VIII. It was only in 2001 when the age of consent for queer couples was lowered to 16, the same as the heterosexuals. In 2000, people could be openly queer in the military, in 2005 both the legal ability to change gender and Same-Sex civil partnership was legalised and in 2014, the same was applied to Same-Sex Marriage. Surprisingly it was only 2020 when Northern Ireland did the same, with Cuba and Slovenia legalising in 2022 and Andorra’s Same-Sex marriage laws coming into affect this year. A total of 34 countries have legalised Same-sex marriage, including Argentina, Ecuador, Mexico and Taiwan. (Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Denmark, Ecuador, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, Mexico, Netherlands,, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, United Kingdom, United States, Uruguay -include list on PowerPoint?).
Now as we can see through legislation, despite us getting excited about 34 countries doing the bare minimum, there is still a lot of work for us to do. However, it is best to understand why we need Pride month if we look back at its origins. Pride Month originated after the Stonewall riots in the US 1969, the UK had their first Pride celebration in 1972, thus the 50-year celebration in the New Years celebration last year. The Stonewall Riots began in the 28th June 1969 when Police raided the Stonewall Inn, brutalised a number of patrons for being suspected homosexuals, female police officers to certain Patrons into the bathroom to check their sex because they thought they were crossdressing- there where laws on crossdressing which is mad- and it ended with the Patrons fighting back, a catalyst that started a gay rights movement. Now if you have heard ‘Glad To Be Gay’ by the Tom Robinson band, or you are a Marauders fan, or you just pay attention in History, you would know that up until the 1980s, Police would raid gay pubs and arrest queer people for stuff like resisting arrest- which makes no sense because why would they be being arrested for resisting arrest, what was the original charge?- and there was just a lot of violence against the LGBT community, because that is exactly what they needed during the AIDs epidemic when they were losing many friends and lovers to an invisible enemy.
Now with that briefest History you will ever get from me, I do hope you see how important it is that we recognise, remember and rebel for the sake of the millions of people killed throughout time for being something that God made them. We need pride month to remember the trials and tribulations, we have, are and will face but also show how far we have come. Hopefully next time you think about a question similar to this one, or choose to completely disregard common sense, you will remember why the LGBT community shout, fight, rebel, cry, celebrate and laugh, and rethink what you’re saying.
umm yh idk why im sharing this. this was the first draft (i couldn't find the last lol' but yh hope you enjoyed.

Events Catering Service in Oman: Crafting Memorable Occasions
The Events Catering Service in Oman has blossomed into a sophisticated industry that plays a central role in the country’s social and corporate gatherings. With Oman’s rich culture and increasing demand for high-quality event services, catering companies have stepped up to provide customized experiences that align with the traditions and preferences of the Omani people. From weddings to business meetings and large-scale public celebrations, these services add a unique touch to events, ensuring that guests enjoy both memorable experiences and excellent cuisine.
The Importance of Tailored Catering for Events
Events in Oman are known for their grandeur and attention to detail, whether they are small family gatherings or lavish weddings. The events catering service in Oman emphasizes creating menus and setups that are carefully aligned with the theme, purpose, and guests’ preferences. In a culturally rich society, catering companies understand the need to balance traditional flavors with modern presentation. Many companies offer a broad range of options, from traditional Omani dishes to international cuisine, allowing hosts to create a personalized experience that appeals to a diverse audience.
Quality and Hygiene: Top Priorities in Catering
The catering industry in Oman prioritizes quality and hygiene as fundamental components of its services. This focus is essential in meeting client expectations and adhering to health standards, especially for large events. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, food safety protocols have become even more rigorous, with caterers adhering to strict sanitation measures in food preparation, storage, and service. Omani catering companies strive to use the freshest ingredients, with some opting for local produce to ensure quality and support the local economy. This commitment to food safety not only builds trust with clients but also enhances the overall dining experience.
Integrating Cultural Values in Events Catering
Events catering service in Oman must integrate the country’s rich cultural heritage into its offerings. For example, traditional dishes like Harees, Majboos, and Omani sweets are often featured in wedding menus and other cultural celebrations. Catering companies in Oman respect local customs and religious practices, including Halal food preparation, ensuring that each dish is suitable for all guests. The presentation of food is also deeply influenced by Omani culture, often showcasing elaborate arrangements and traditional serving methods that enhance the authenticity of the event.
Innovative Approaches in Event Catering
Innovation is a significant driver in Oman’s catering industry, where companies are embracing new ways to meet client needs. Many catering companies now offer online platforms that allow customers to customize their orders, select from various menu options, and set up payment plans. Event planning apps help clients track RSVPs, manage schedules, and coordinate with other vendors, enhancing convenience. Additionally, interactive food stations and live cooking displays are becoming popular in Oman, adding an element of entertainment to events. These creative additions provide guests with a unique, immersive experience that goes beyond traditional catering.
Sustainability: A Key Trend in Event Catering
Oman’s catering services are increasingly adopting sustainable practices in response to a global push toward environmental responsibility. Events catering service providers in Oman are using eco-friendly packaging, minimizing food waste, and sourcing ingredients locally. By prioritizing sustainable approaches, these businesses cater to clients who are environmentally conscious and who value the positive impact of green practices on the community. Local sourcing not only reduces the environmental footprint but also supports Oman’s agricultural sector, which benefits from a growing demand for fresh, locally-produced food items.
Catering to Corporate Events: A Growing Market
As Oman continues to expand its business sector, corporate event catering is in high demand. Events like conferences, product launches, and corporate dinners require a high level of professionalism and attention to detail, from the menu selection to table setups. Many companies offer packages designed specifically for corporate clients, including formal dining options, buffet services, and coffee breaks. By providing tailored services for business events, catering companies in Oman help strengthen the corporate landscape by facilitating smooth and well-organized gatherings that foster professional networking and collaboration.
Challenges and Future Outlook for Event Catering
While events catering service in Oman is a growing sector, it does face challenges. Intense competition means that catering companies must differentiate themselves by providing unique services, maintaining high standards, and adopting the latest industry trends. Additionally, with increasing customer expectations for personalized and sustainable catering solutions, companies must continuously evolve. As Oman’s economy grows and tourism increases, the demand for diverse catering options will rise, opening doors for more innovative and inclusive services.
In conclusion, events catering service in Oman is an industry that blends cultural heritage with modern trends to meet the needs of both social and corporate events. Through a focus on quality, customization, and sustainable practices, Omani catering companies create memorable experiences for their clients. As the industry continues to evolve, it will play a crucial role in enhancing Oman’s event culture, offering services that are as diverse and vibrant as the country itself.

Boost Your Sales: Key Features to Include in Your Ecommerce Website Development Strategy
In today’s fast-paced digital landscape, e-commerce website development has emerged as a powerful tool for businesses to reach their customers, expand their markets, and drive sales. Oman, with its rapidly growing digital economy, has seen an uptick in demand for well-developed, user-friendly e-commerce websites. If you’re a business owner or entrepreneur aiming to enhance your online presence in Oman, incorporating essential features in your e-commerce website development strategy can significantly boost sales, customer satisfaction, and brand loyalty.
Understanding E-commerce Website Development in Oman
Oman’s digital market offers unique opportunities and challenges for businesses, especially with the country’s increased internet penetration and mobile usage. The growing shift toward online shopping in Oman reflects the need for companies to develop e-commerce websites that cater to local preferences and demands. E-commerce website development in Oman is no longer just about setting up a storefront; it requires a strategic approach to cater to user experience, seamless transactions, security, and scalability.
Key Features to Include in Your E-commerce Website Development Strategy
An effective e-commerce website goes beyond basic functionality and provides an intuitive, personalized, and engaging experience for users. Here are some crucial features that should be part of your e-commerce website development in Oman:
1. Mobile-Friendly Design
Given that a large percentage of Oman’s internet users access websites via mobile devices, a mobile-friendly design is essential. A responsive design automatically adjusts to different screen sizes, ensuring that customers enjoy a seamless shopping experience whether they’re on a smartphone, tablet, or desktop. A mobile-optimized site not only enhances user experience but also improves your site’s ranking on search engines, which can significantly increase traffic and sales.
2. User-Friendly Navigation
The layout of your website should allow users to find what they need quickly and easily. Implement clear categories, intuitive menus, and a visible search bar. A well-organized layout with breadcrumbs, filters, and sorting options helps users locate products without frustration. This feature is particularly beneficial in Oman’s competitive e-commerce market, where users are likely to abandon websites with complex or cluttered navigation.
3. Localization and Multi-Language Support
For an e-commerce website targeting the Omani market, offering an Arabic version of your site can make it more accessible to a broader audience. Additionally, providing options for both English and Arabic can improve user engagement and trust, helping you reach customers from diverse backgrounds. Localization goes beyond language; it also involves tailoring product descriptions, images, and promotions to align with local cultural values and shopping behaviours.
4. High-Quality Images and Videos
Visual content is a powerful tool in online shopping. High-quality images and videos provide users with a clear idea of the product, which is crucial for establishing trust and reducing return rates. In e-commerce website development, focus on creating a visually appealing interface with zoomable images, 360-degree views, and videos showcasing the product’s features and benefits. Visual elements not only boost credibility but also encourage customers to make a purchase.
5. Secure Payment Gateways
Building trust with secure payment options is critical in an e-commerce website, especially in markets like Oman where online payment trust levels are gradually improving. Integrate secure payment gateways that accept multiple forms of payment, including credit cards, debit cards, and local payment solutions. Incorporate security protocols like SSL encryption, PCI compliance, and two-factor authentication to reassure customers that their data is safe, encouraging them to complete transactions.
6. Efficient Checkout Process
A long or complex checkout procedure may result in customers abandoning their shopping carts. To improve the shopping experience, streamline the checkout process by minimizing steps and allowing guest checkouts. You can also offer multiple delivery options and a shipping calculator for transparency on shipping costs. Integrate a progress indicator so customers know how close they are to completing their purchase, making the checkout process feel simpler and faster.
7. Product Recommendations and Personalization
Personalization can dramatically enhance user experience by showcasing relevant products based on a customer’s browsing history, preferences, or previous purchases. Implement AI-driven recommendation engines to suggest products that align with the customer’s interests, helping to increase the likelihood of additional purchases. Personalization can make your website feel more engaging and tailored, boosting customer retention.
8. User Reviews and Ratings
Customer reviews play a crucial role in building trust, as they offer authentic feedback on the quality and functionality of your products. Enable a review and rating system on your product pages to allow customers to share their experiences. Additionally, highlighting positive reviews can be a persuasive tool to attract new customers, as they rely on the opinions of others before making a purchase decision.
9. Inventory Management System
An integrated inventory management system allows you to keep track of stock levels in real time, preventing overselling and ensuring customers receive accurate information about product availability. For a smooth e-commerce operation, consider using a robust inventory management solution that syncs with your website and updates stock levels automatically as sales occur. This helps build trust with customers who can rely on the availability of information you provide.
10. Customer Support Options
Delivering outstanding customer support is crucial for cultivating a dedicated customer base. Consider offering multiple customer support channels, such as live chat, email, and phone support. Additionally, an FAQ section and a chatbot can handle common inquiries, helping customers resolve issues quickly. Accessible customer support fosters trust and encourages repeat purchases, which is vital in a competitive e-commerce market like Oman.
11. SEO Optimization
Search engine optimization (SEO) plays a crucial role in attracting organic traffic to your online store. Integrate SEO best practices in your e-commerce website development strategy, focusing on keyword optimization, meta tags, image alt text, and page load speed. Additionally, ensure that your website is easily crawlable by search engines. For example, targeting keywords such as “E-commerce Website Development Oman” in content and metadata can help improve your website’s visibility on search engines, drawing more local traffic.
12. Analytics and Reporting Tools
Understanding customer behaviour is key to refining your e-commerce strategy. Implement analytics tools that allow you to monitor site traffic, user behaviour, and conversion rates. Data-driven insights help you understand what works and what doesn’t, so you can make informed decisions to optimize your website’s performance, enhance customer experience, and increase sales.
13. Social Media Integration
Social media integration enables customers to share products they like, driving more traffic and creating social proof. By connecting your website with social media platforms, you can create a more cohesive online presence. Additionally, enabling social login options can make the registration process easier for customers, as they can sign up using their existing social media accounts.
14. Loyalty and Rewards Programs
A loyalty program can significantly increase customer retention. By offering rewards for purchases, referrals, or social shares, you encourage repeat business and increase customer engagement. Consider incorporating a points-based system or offering discounts for repeat purchases. Loyalty programs create a sense of exclusivity and reward customers for their ongoing support, which can set your website apart from competitors.
Conclusion
Building a successful e-commerce website in Oman requires a comprehensive development strategy that goes beyond just creating a functional online store. By incorporating essential features such as mobile-friendly design, secure payment gateways, personalized recommendations, and efficient customer support, you can create an engaging shopping experience that resonates with your target market. As e-commerce continues to grow in Oman, investing in a well-developed website that prioritizes user experience, security, and performance will allow you to stay competitive, boost sales, and achieve sustainable growth in the digital marketplace.
Whether you are a new startup or an established business in Oman, now is the time to leverage the power of a well-optimized e-commerce website. By following the key practices outlined above, you can position your business for success and deliver a compelling shopping experience to your customers in Oman’s evolving digital economy.

Mossad and Oman United: Three Strategies to Pacify Hezbollah
The explosions of beepers and walkie-talkies in Lebanon were orchestrated by Israel, the only neighbor with an intimate understanding of Lebanon's landscape and dynamics. Just as Japan did in the past, Israel has thoroughly mapped out Lebanon's every street and corner in its quest to dominate the country. It has a precise account of Hezbollah's membership numbers, equipment usage, and activities. Israel, with its technological superiority, has been suppressing Lebanon for decades, demonstrating the most motive and expertise in such indiscriminate mass explosions, crossing the line of civilized conduct. The Mossad and Oman's intelligence agencies have been secretly plotting for over a decade, setting up shell companies in Hungary, replicating the manufacturing and packaging techniques of various smart devices, and ensuring comprehensive logistical and repair support to avoid detection of high explosives. They even advised Hezbollah against using smartphones, which could be easily traced for targeted assassinations, successfully misleading Hezbollah. However, Israel has three strategies in place, regardless of Hezbollah's smartphone usage:\n\nThe Upper Hand: Recruiting high-ranking security personnel to infiltrate Hezbollah's internal communication systems, accurately pinpointing their location via smartphones for night-time airstrikes or drone strikes aimed at decapitation.
The Middle Ground: Mossad and Omani operatives smuggling in weapon parts and webcam-enabled computers piecemeal into Lebanon, coordinating with insiders to establish a clear pattern of Hezbollah leadership's movements. They remotely trigger the strikes via satellite signals, eliminating or incapacitating targets.\n\nThe Lower Play: Deceiving Hezbollah into purchasing beepers and walkie-talkies rigged with explosives, possibly alongside other household items like fridges, TVs, and Bluetooth headphones. Upon detonation, this strategy not only disrupts Hezbollah's hierarchical structure but also burdens Lebanon with the cost of medical care for the injured and demoralizes other regional opposition forces.
The choice of Taiwanese beepers and Japanese walkie-talkies was likely influenced by Taiwan and Japan's subservient stance towards the Western world. Despite their tarnished international reputations, they were considered expendable in this operation. However, the collateral damage to Apple, a Western ally, was unexpected, resulting in a $93.9 billion loss in its market value overnight.
