Panda Pearl Webcomic Promotion

hello all! It's been a hot minute since I made a proper promotion for Panda Pearl, so. I guess this is it!

What IS Panda Pearl? It is a comic that's been in development for 11 years, officially launching on Webtoons in 2018. It is written and drawn by myself, @/pandrena, and my partner @/servantparent co-writes and gives input on its creation. It updates somewhat slowly, but it's currently on Chapter 13!

What's the plot? Initially, it begins with a young bunny girl named Maria being sent on a quest by her father to collect a magical item known as "Panda Pearls". These are pearls that form a panda themed eyepatch that her uncle wears. In order to obtain them, the plan is to kill her uncle.

She has to kill her uncle?! Well, as it turns out, there's more to the story. How couldn't there be? Her uncle seems more willing to hand over the pearls than expected, after all, and eager to die. But his untimely transformation into a monster kind of throws a wrench in...everything. That's the biggest spoiler you get...Ha, get it? The monster is big...

What should I look out for? What might bother me? There's much blood in the comic and some decent amount of implied or mentioned gore. There's parental death, familial death in general, and body horror. All this aside, the comic is a bit up and down in terms of how dark it gets, but has many comedic moments as well.

Where can I read it? Webtoons or Comic Fury! The latter is updated page by page, while the former is updated rarely when a big batch comes along.

thank u for sending!! this is my first attempt at writing jester and idk if its IC but it made me happy to write nonetheless.

I chose to be upfront about my concerns, and maybe, just maybe, I should not have. But still, the words left my mouth: “Is this really necessary?”

Jester paused as she sorted through her glitter - and by that I mean she was sticking her hands into a bin of various colored glittery particles and somehow sorting it. We don’t ask questions anymore. But she paused, as previously stated, and looked at me with a bright smile. “Of course it is!” And then she went back to her...uh...Work.

“Okay, let me rephrase: why is it necessary?”

“You wanted to help the Jester with her pranks, didn’t you?”

“Yeah, but I’m not really...helping...And this isn’t really a prank...You’re just kinda sorting.”

“Well, then come and help!” She hummed, “She can always ask Static to help, but the glitter tends to get stuck on Static…” It was stuck on Jester’s sleeves, too, but whatever. I wasn’t gonna argue. “Also, Static is busy.” She pouted. “The Jester does not particularly mind, though, as long as she knows Static is busy buying food and not off killing someone like Rennird.”

“...Yeah, Ok.”

“Oh, oh! The Jester has found something in the glitter!”

I blinked. “What did you find?”

“Come see, come see~!”

Well. Like a fool (ha), I chose to approach. This was a mistake. Jester smiled and lifted the box of glitter - and proceeded to dump it on me.

“The Jester found you in the glitter!!” Or rather, I found the glitter in me. My circuit boards, specifically, since I was. A robot and all. Thanks mom - I mean Jester.

10th Anniversary is almost here!

The anniversary of Panda Pearl (April 1st) is fast approaching. I thought I'd write up another little promo for the comic. You can always see the pinned post as well!

"Panda Pearl" is a webcomic that has been running since 2018, though the concept was first beginning its development in 2013. This story revolves around a young 14 year old girl named Maria, who is sent on a quest by her father to obtain magical items from her uncle. The items are known as the namesake of the comic, the "Panda Pearls." What are these objects, and what are their true nature? Why does her father want them? And most importantly, I feel, is why he might want Maria's seemingly harmless uncle dead in the first place.

There are many lies, truths, and misconceptions to be unraveled in this story - and not just from Maria's family. There is a fair amount of content that needs trigger warnings on it, however. This includes blood, minor gore and parent/mother death. The comic tries to keep a PG-13 rating of sorts, though, and that's only in violence. And while these things exist alongside swearing, there is NO "adult" content in a sexual sense.
