The Serulien Days

The Serulien Days are a short period of time where the entire planet goes into mourning for those they've lost through their life.

The Days began shortly after the god of lost loves, Zynx, lost the love of his life, Anwyl. At this time he was still mortal and spent the rest of their life in mourning for their love.

Their mourning did not last long however, as he succumbed to his broken heart only days after Anwyl's funeral. His first act as a god was to define the days he spent suffering as a worldwide period of mourning. (Though his suffering did not actually end after ascending.)

The Days are typically observed by travelling to a location significant to a lost soul, eating and drinking produce they enjoyed through their life and writing letters to the lost one that are burnt on ceremonial candles.

Though some mortals do not believe this, Zynx ensures that all letters make their way to the souls they are addressed to. The days are celebrated within the Marworld as well, giving the souls a chance to hear their loved ones again.

Depending on the year, the god of the dead - Anwyl - may allows the gods to enter the Marworld (underworld) and see their loved ones once again. (Though Zynx has a permanent entry pass.)

Zynx typically spends the days in the Marworld, visiting Anwyl, or in their hometown.

The other Lifeplane gods have a small celebration of the Lapsed and typically extend their celebration past the period of the Days, as the gods are rarely able to hold gatherings with more than 10 of them in attendance.
