For the ask game: serroki? 👀

OKAY THIS OUTLINE HAS CHANGED A LIL BECAUSE I COULDNT GET THE OG CONCEPT TO WORK

This was actually for a sewer prompt… way back in January I think. The prompt was soulmates!

Anyway! It’s a seroroki au that uses non-traditional hanahaki (have we all seen the chronic-but-not-to-death hanahaki post? Yes? Good) and soulmarks together! Soulmarks in this universe are the same symbol in the same place, the same size and color and everything. Very straightforward.

The problem comes with the fact that seroroki’s soulmark is a simple outline of a circle, half black and half white, around the left eye.

You see where I’m going???

Todoroki arrives at UA and instantly knows that Sero is his soulmate, but because of …. everything about how messed up Todoroki was in that first bit of their first year, he doesn’t tell Sero. He resolves to ignore it.

After the Sports Festival, Todoroki continues to not tell Sero because he’s scared that Sero will reject him because he’s mad he didn’t tell him earlier. So he makes this worse by continuing to not tell him. He’s a boy in love and can’t be reasoned with…

… until he starts coughing up flowers. Sero finds out about the hanahaki, but he has no idea who it’s for. Seros mom has hanahaki for his dad, so he knows lots of tricks of how to treat it and decrease pain and useful things like that. Idk what these tricks are yet but I think it’s funny if maybe todoroki gets tricked into eating plant food at least once.

Uuuuuh and then?? I guess todoroki eventually sorts himself out and gets over his fear of rejection and they kiss?? And be gay forever?? And have three dogs and an adopted daughter and are happy forever and ever yes. That sounds nice so that’s how it ends now.

The original concept was having the soulmark be a Torii gate and I was gonna try and put some like symbolism in there but I was really bad at it and killed the story vibes basically rip. I like this new hanahaki idea so everyone say thank you to the chronic hanahaki post

That's exactly how I used to see them, switches with Bakugou topping more! Not just with Kiribaku but Todobaku as well! But now I'm not so sure! I can't explain it but I feel like it's the other way around? Idk, I've been reading a lot of ship fics lately and Bakugou is always topping but I'm starting to see them in a different way and trying to have a more complete image of them in my head, if that makes sense! 🤔

I went through a phase of Bottom!Bakugo, but for some reason I always come back to Bottom!Kiri instead. But, maybe that’s just a Kirishima thing? Because I do think that Bakugo is also an absolute unit when he bottoms (even it it’s not too often) 🥵

As for Todoroki idek. I think my judgement is coloured bc I’m die-hard Serroki; and he’s always a bottom in that dynamic for me! So idk if I’d see him as a top with anyone… 😳

OMG! Why didn't I think of that? What you said about the Kirishima thing? I think it might be a Todoroki thing for me! Most people hc Todoroki as a bottom and I'm fine with that honestly but I think always reading about him bottoming for Bakugou kinda bothered me in a way? Well, not really bother, but like in my mind Todoroki can be an excellent top and I haven't seen that in a while! A couple months ago I read an a/b/o todobaku fic and todoroki was the alpha and it's now one of my favourite fics! So maybe this is me trying to figure out todoroki and I accidentally made it a Bakugou issue! 🤣

I haven't read any Serroki fics but I can totally see why (your) Sero would be the top and I agree! 😏

Yeah - I get what you mean. It’s all just a preference thing, I think. I’m really picky about Bakugo, but I think that’s because I’m protective/attached to him as a character in a way that’s slightly different to the others… So I’m mostly a Top!Bakugo KiriBaku person. Whereas, I’m more open with Kirishima, Todoroki, Sero etc, etc… Idk, it’s weird. And, A/B/O is a whole other bag for me too! 🤣

My Sero is a whore and knows it, although I do think he’s bottomed before - but he was definitely the one in control. However… Shinso. Shinso tops and takes control 😈
