I started writing this atleast 5 years ago & it’s been sitting in my drafts since then so maybe I should actually try to finish this seeing as I just finished the series?
Favourite pony/character, out of the Mane 6 & in general and favourite villain!: I can’t really pick a favourite. I probably would’ve said both Spike & Rarity before (even though Spike isn’t a pony lol), Fluttershy used to be one of my favourites, Pinkie Pie is probably the nicest character, I also like Starlight Glimmer...*cough*kindamywaifu*cough*. As for villain...hmm maybe Discord or Tirek? Least favourite character(s): I’m not sure I even have a character that I hate. I used to not be keen on the CMC because they made the show feel more childish & they got so many episodes (and Applebloom was overrated for some reason)- but they did grow on me- they’re good kids. Which pony do you think you’re most like?: I guess Fluttershy because I’m shy How about favourite pet that the Mane 6 own?: Angel Bunny and Tank the tortoise Favourite episodes: It’s hard to pick a favourite honestly. I used to like Season 1 the best but there is so much more to enjoy. I also really liked the Spike x Rarityness in Secret of my Excess. A few I can think of: some from season 1, May the Best Pet Win, Magic Duel, The Cart Before the Ponies, The Perfect Pear, & stuff Idk.  Least favourite episodes: I used to not look forward to the CMC episodes because there were so many of them & I wasn’t really interested in them- they’ve grown on me though. I’m also more of a fan of the slice of life episodes over the 2 parter stuff or “arc” stuff but some of the “arcs” & 2 parters have been enjoyable aswell (I liked Starlight Glimmer’s story). Some episodes I don’t like that much: She’s All Yak, Flutter Brutter, Maybe 28 Pranks Later because they were a bit hypocritical, Father Knows Beast & Going to Seed for what I believe to be errors... Shippings you like: Spike x Rarity has always been my OTP! It was even one of the things that got me in to it in the first place aswell as the characters. I also like: Big Mac x Sugar Belle, Fluttershy x Discord, Applejack x Rarity, Starlight Glimmer x Sunburst, Bright Mac x Pear Butter/Buttercup, Cranky Doodle x Matilda, Maud Pie x Mudbriar, Lyra x Bon Bon, Cadence x Shining Armour, Mayor Sunny Skies x Petunia, Applejack x Fluttershy, Twilight Sparkle x Flash Centry, Twilight Sparkle x Timber Spruce, Pinkie Pie x Cheese Sandwich. I also liked Big Mac x Marble Pie, Big Mac x Fluttershy, I remember putting Rainbow Dash x Fluttershy & Twilight Sparkle x Pinkie Pie together too, Big Mac x Cheerilee was ok, Starlight Glimmer x Trixie is ok, Applejack x Rainbow Dash is ok, and Spike x Sweetie Belle makes more sense than Spike & Applebloom... Shippings you don’t like: Never liked Spike x Applebloom- it made 0 sense & I think people only put them together because they were Sparity haters. I don’t like Spike x Gabby if it gets in the way of Spike x Rarity. I also don’t like Yona x Sandbar, Applebloom x Tender Taps, Ember x Throax. Don’t really like Spike x Ember or Rainbow Dash x Zephyr Breeze either. Didn’t really get Pinkie Pie x Discord or Spike x Applejack? Favourite song(s): I could come up with a list of songs that I like but here a few favourites: Babs Seed, Flawless, Open Up Your Eyes, What my Cutie Mark is Telling Me, You’re in My Head Like a Catchy Song, Spike’s song for Rarity, Smile. Also: Art of the Dress, Blank Flanks Forever, Find the Magic from Equestria Girls, Cutie Mark Crusaders theme song (the actual music is good even if the singing is bad lol), Raise this Barn, In Our Town, Best Friends until the end of time...
EDIT: I’ve edited this a couple of times!

Reasons I Love Elizabeth
As per this post, I am doing a "reasons I love __" series in which I talk about why I love my WIPs and characters. I'm taking my OC page and using that as my guide for what order to write about characters. I skipped the rp/OHS characters for now, though, since I talk about them the most.
I've already talked about DHaF, Belinda, Ikuisuus, Juma, Chippy, DHaFN, Ruby, Soul Surgery, Jason Zephyr, The Forest, Amelia R., Cadence and Vampire Idol rewrite.
Here is why I love Elizabeth:
her nickname (the ripper queen) not only nods toward her place as the most famous female vampire in her world, but also nods toward her attitude toward killing humans and how much utter joy she gets from it
she’s a ruthless vampire, the way they used to be back in the day before Twilight and all of that (no offense, Twilight fans)
she has her own Iconic Aesthetic that she’s famous for in her world and I’m so in love with how horrifying it is
she looks innocent and sweet but then you watch her for 5 minutes (when she’s not cuddled up to Nane) and you immediately realize how horrifying she really is
her dynamic with Nane. Enough said
If you have anything else to add to this, feel free to add on!
Here are some photos of my girl:

HARD TO SAY ANYTHING THOUGHTS
Romance has certainly been a subject of contention in terms of anything related to Friendship is Magic. As with any popular medium, there is a pretty large shipping contingent of the fandom that will ship any character that even says just one line to another. Or in some cases especially for the background ponies, if they just simply stand with another character.
But when the show actually gets to like canon relationships and crushes it drives the shipping part of the fandom nuts. Or even just the people who don't like romance involved with ponies at all. For the most part early on though romance was more played for laughs or a purposeful subvert of expectations. From Rarity's crush on Blueblood that's completely demolished by Blueblood's true colors in the Season 1 Finale to the absolutely crazy ride Hearts and Hooves Day was (Though the latter was still enough to cause some fans. Particularly those who were Fluttershy X Big Mac fans. Cause even though the fandom was still pretty young. Fluttermac was apparently popular enough that death threats on DeviantArt happened at around the time Hearts and Hooves Day came around. That's when you know you have a serious shipping problem)
It wouldn't be until the first Equestria Girls where there was an actual somewhat serious attempt at a relationship. But it's safe to say that hardly anyone got behind Flash Sentry. It's still kinda the worst attempt at romance in the entire history of this generation of MLP that it's obvious that the staff had to tone it down to the point they had to let it go and in fact ended any chance of Flash still hooking up with Pony Twilight in the fourth EQG movie. Season 4 would have another Hearts and Hooves-esque episode in Simple Ways where the romance is played for laughs and doesn't stick past said episode.
Though Season 5 seemed to have something going on between Marble Pie and Big Mac at their reunion though the fact that they might be cousins did make some fans unsure about the whole thing.
EQG4 would have the return of romance in the EQG films through Timber and the human version of Twilight. Which while I'm sure gets some similar ire like Flash did. I personally think it's not even half as bad for a few reasons that I've already explained. But even if you don't like it, it's pretty obvious it'll stay mainly in the EQG series since it now involves an entirely different Twilight. And I think that's ok, less potential of harming the main series with an important main character being dragged into a rather forced relationship subplot
Though now in Season 7 we have a return at an actual attempt to have a romance and indeed sticks by the end in the show between Big Mac and Sugar Belle. They perfectly acknowledge Hearts and Hooves Day and how a love potion incident may not cause love to bloom between the two, it's possible to just see them as to have struck a friendship after the whole thing and they just teased the CMC for trolling purposes. But the same can't exactly be said for the whole Marble Pie thing. Even Apple Bloom says it's Big Mac's first crush. There is the possibility maybe Apple Bloom didn't see the signs to put one-and-one together but still anyone who saw the whole blushing and the way they looked at one another probably still have the right to at least question that statement and ask why it wasn't mentioned along with the Hearts and Hooves Day thing. Because it almost seems like the new writer was shown Hearts and Hooves Day, but either forgot or was never told about the episode Marble Pie appeared in. You can't just ignore that.
If I may put in a bit of a disclaimer, I'm not a particularly big shipper. So I'm not saying these things to say like I prefer Marblemac or anything. It's just something that anyone's going to at least question if they ever see both these episodes whether they saw Hard To Say Anything first or not. Also for the exception of Rarity's crushes any relationship/other crushes tends to be kept for secondary characters like Shining Armor & Cadence, Big Mac of course, and Zephyr Breeze's crush on Rainbow (Who the latter vehemently refuses any advances). So it's not been that big of a deal really, I'm even kinda fine with Sugar Belle and Big Mac being together at the end. Though the question will be certainly if it even goes anywhere later on or not.
But if I may get to the episode itself. It starts off pretty alright. Buuuuuut once Feather Bangs steps in and the CMC start their rather dim-witted plan of using fairy tales to get Big Mac and Sugar Belle together. To be honest it might be their dumbest plan since some of their early attempts to get their cutie marks back in Seasons 1 and 2. And I think maybe it's because of the previous Sweetie Belle and Rarity episode, but maybe it comes off as quite contradictory when in one episode Sweetie claims to have grown past some of the things that worked for her when she was young but then uses something that was probably part of her earlier childhood in a sense to help someone. It just seems by Forever Filly's logic, Sweetie should also know Fairy Tales isn't going to work very well. It might arguably be a worse plan then their Hearts and Hooves Day one since they didn't know the love potion would have the side-effects it did until it was too late and if they had known probably wouldn't have gone on with it. I do have to admit once it gets to that part of the episode it's a bit of a hard watch on my part between knowing the CMC's plan isn't going to work and the whole Feather Bangs thing isn't exactly making any of the scenes any better.
Though once all that's over it does pick back up at least a bit. Though making that bigger shelf to get them together at last may still seem a little fast because as much as that was sweet. I don't think it'd entirely absolve Big Mac of going along with the CMC's plan earlier. And hey Feather Bangs doesn't just get thrown away after all that is over and even gets a kinda sympathetic ending to him, which is kinda nice since normally those kind of characters in these type of episodes are almost always  kinda treated like an antagonist that gets beaten in the end (On a side note Feather is voiced by Vincent Tong. Gotta say poor Vincent, that's the 3rd male love interest character that probably doesn't have that good of a reputation in the fandom. I'm of course referring to Prince Blueblood and Flash Sentry).
All that said though, this episode may be my least favorite of Season 7 thus far. I don't think it's entirely that bad like I'd still prefer it over some of the episodes that I didn't like so much in the first half of Season 6 but I just don't feel it's quite as strong as the others has been this season. As a big part of it is not something I look forward to rewatching really. Also I have no idea if Sugar Belle and Big Mac's relationship will even go anywhere significant. There is potential they could cover like the possibility of Big Mac leaving the Apple farm to live closer with Sugar Belle. But the question is if they'll even go that far for it. We'll have to find out later.
Coming up next is Honest Apple. And episode that quite frankly has a moral that sometimes the entire internet needs to take heart sometimes.

Future of Wearable Apps in the Healthcare Industry
The history of wearable technology dates back to the year 2002, where it gained popularity with the introduction of Bluetooth headsets. Then came the futuristic wearable technology devices like Fitbit, Nike+ and Google Glass from 2006 to 2013.
Finally, the media crowned 2014 as the “Year of Wearable Technology” and in 2015 the very first series of the glorious Apple Watch was launched. In subsequent years, the industry saw tremendous commercialization of wearable technologies.
In 2018, the number of smartwatch units sold reached 141 million. This rapid growth pace of wearable apps is expected to spill to the next few years with the revenue forecast from wearable device sales to reach an astonishing $73.27 billion by 2022.
Globally the mobile health or mHealth industry is expected to generate the second largest share of revenue by 2020, reaching  $46 billion. Today, the core of wearable technology evolution lies in wearable health tech, which is becoming more and more ubiquitous with consumers demanding a more accessible and quicker way to reach their medical health professionals.
For healthcare industry professionals, wearable apps have become the source of increasing the efficiency of health facilities at the same time, not burdening their pockets. Here is how wearable apps have changed the way the healthcare industry functions:
How Wearable Apps are Revolutionizing the Healthcare Industry?
1. Increasing Efficiency During Surgeries
With the advent of technology & mobile application development, The use of wearable technology while performing surgeries cannot go without mentioning the incredible Google Glasses. Pierre Theodore, the famous cardiothoracic surgeon, who performed the first-ever approved surgery using Google glasses, backs wearable technology with his surgical experience. For physicians like Theodore, who need to maintain constant attention and accuracy while performing surgeries, healthcare applications for devices like Google Glasses have a huge business market.
2. Increasing Convenience for Patients
Teaming AI with patient data creates a reliable digital health assistant that supports the patients in their healthcare journey. Apps like CarePassport provide the patients with the facilities to maintain a record of their medical data from different physicians, such as lab results, medical images, clinical reports, dental records, etc. and access them when required in an organized way. These mHealth applications have simplified the lives of individuals in the most fundamental way ever.
3. Providing Data-driven Healthcare for Patients
When wearable apps are combined with clinical records and patient’s health insights, personalized data-driven healthcare is readily achievable.
mHealthcare apps make it possible to monitor each patient’s changing vitals such as blood pressure, pulse rate, heart rate, sleep rate, breathing patterns, calorie consumption etc. This helps the physicians to provide bespoke and accurate guidance based on real-time patient data.
4. Utilizing Patient Data for Clinical Trials
The data generated from the wearable apps provide information about patients such as behavior, heart rhythm, blood glucose levels, blood pressure, sleeping patterns, breathing patterns etc. can empower researchers to work on general clinical trials. This collected data can be used for investigating experimental drugs or medical equipment to improve patient’s lives.
Top Wearable App Trends
1. Intelligent Smartwatches
2019 sees the wave of more advanced smartwatches that can completely obliterate the need for smartphones. The processing of information in the smartwatches is expected to become more organized and intuitive. With IoT traversing in major industries including healthcare, the smartwatches will become more intelligent by becoming the centralized point from where other devices could be monitored and controlled.
2. GPS technology
Another wearable apps trend that will be gaining popularity this year is the navigation feature. Wearables combined with real-time location tracking can become the most sought after technology of this decade. Gathering the data from wearable devices having gyroscopes, motion tracker, compasses, and accelerometers can enable wearable apps to determine factors like speed, distance, cadence, calories burnt etc.
3. Wearable IoT in healthcare
IoT driven wearable apps are gradually gaining popularity in the healthcare sector. Innovations like installing wearable IoT in wheelchairs, hearing aids, artificial limbs, and other devices are emerging as top wearable trends this year. Tech experts are looking to develop apps for wearable devices like Zephyr Anywhere’s BioPatch, which uses IoT technology to deliver real-time data in the form of alerts to their doctor’s watches or smartphones.
Some Popular Healthcare Apps
For aspiring healthcare industry professionals, some benchmark mHealth apps have been dominating the apps market. Here are some of them:
1. Hexoskin app
Hexoskin app allows users to record complex metrics like  ECG, (electrocardiogram), heart rate variability (HRV), breathing activity, VO2max, heart rate recovery and sleep efficiency. It also backs up your recorded data for future references, for free.
2. S Health App
The core features of Samsung Health App are to maintain a record and analyze the daily user activities and habits and suggest a nutritious diet and a healthy lifestyle.
3. Apple Health App
The Health app by Apple is divided into four categories namely sleep, mindfulness, activity, and Nutrition. Each category helps you follow a healthy regime depending on your body requirements.
4. Quardio App
It has been featured as one of the best medical apps in the App Store. It has features to monitor your heart health and integrates with other apps to store your data securely. It also enables users to share their heart health updates with family and friends.

Gathering the data from wearable devices having gyroscopes, motion tracker, compasses, and accelerometers can enable wearable apps to determine factors like speed, distance, cadence, calories burnt etc.

This is the flower shop that Kris and Laurent eventually open when MSQ is well past being complete. By this time, Laurent's become an Archon, the world doesn't need saving every other week so Kris can stop being the WoL, and they've moved back to a rebuilt Rabanastre.
Yes, this flower shop is in the desert! And least, the inside is. Just ignore the address and the outside, I can't do much about where I got the house, lol.
Laurent's studies focused on the aetherical qualities of soil and how this affects the growth of plants and flowers, so it's no surprise he's able to grow flowers in the desert. The big garden on the first floor is evidence of that! Well, and all the greenery growing in the shop, as well. He really just lets the plants run wild lol.
My favorite part of this build is that, because I was building it as a "canonical" place, there's a lot of little details that really only apply to them living there--like the tray of sweets on the counter that Kris leaves for Laurent, or the fact that everything behind the counter is various bits and pieces of Laurent's research and he is a surprisingly disorganized person LOL.

Flower Shop
Dynamis | Halicarnassus | Lavender Beds | Ward 20 | Plot 21
(Overgrown has been partially renovated!)
I was pretty happy with the original version of my medium house, but I didn't really like how dissonant the top floor felt from the first floor and outdoor section. It felt like two different builds, almost.
So, I decided to renovate the top floor to be a flower shop, and updated the outdoor section to reflect that better too!
Finally, this build I actually made for my two Viera (even though the house belongs to neither of them LOL), it's the flower shop they eventually open after all the WoL business is done with :D As such, there are some neat personal details I added in there, and I was just more jazzed to redecorate in general. Anything for my blorbos ;w;
Feel free to stop on by!

Zephyr's Cadence Moments: Nightmare
(Vierapril Day 6 - Dream)

Not all nights are peaceful.

(main Vierapril 2025 post)
------
When you go through as much as these two, nightmares are to be expected, honestly. :(
Gale's eyes flutter open, and through his grogginess, he quickly takes stock of his surroundings.
It's dark… it must be late in the night. Did I hear something? If so, Reyna would also be awake, right? Unless something—
Shaking off the weariness, Gale sighs. No, what am I thinking? Those days are long behind us… But then why…?
Suddenly, Gale feels Laurent turn over abruptly in his sleep, and he frowns. "Oh…" Gale looks over at his slumbering husband as he mumbles something incoherently and notices the faint sheen of sweat on his forehead.
Reyna's having a nightmare again… Given how much they'd endured over the years, neither Viera were strangers to bad dreams—but Laurent tended to have them more often.
"Oh, my love…" Gale lies down and gently holds one of Laurent's hands. He tried a few different ways to soothe Laurent in the past, but anything that startled the ex-assassin in his sleep tended to be a poor idea. As much as Gale hated to see Laurent like this, he knew the best thing to do was to wait.
Eventually, Gale feels Laurent start with a small gasp, and he rubs Laurent's arm. "It's okay, it was just a dream…"
Laurent squeezes Gale's hand before slowly breathing out. "My apologies, my love, did I wake you…?"
"Reyna, you know I never mind being awoken if you're having a bad dream—or for any reason, really." Gale turns over to face his husband and opens his arms. "Come here."
Laurent frowns, hesitating for a moment before shifting into Gale's arms. Gale gives him a gentle peck on the top of his head, then strokes Laurent's folded-down ears a few times before continuing. "Do you wish to talk about it? It may help…"
With a sigh, Laurent wraps his arms around Gale and squeezes. "It's nothing new, Eir. Same one as last time."
"Oh, my love…" Unlike Gale, who mostly had nightmares during his time as the Warrior of Light, Laurent's go back a bit further, to the days they were in the Dalmascan Resistance. Laurent was often on the frontlines, and though he never talked about it much, Gale knew that he'd seen more than his fair share of horrors. Far more than he ever deserved…
Gale returns the embrace. "I'm so sorry, Reyna… but I'm here, and I'm okay." He pulls back a bit so Laurent can look at his face. "See? Just the same as I always am."
Laurent gives a small smile and strokes Gale's cheek—before giving it a light pinch.
"O-ow! Why did you do that!? You're supposed to pinch yourself to make sure you're awake…"
"Yes, still the same Eir I know and—ow!" Gale chuckles as he pinches Laurent's cheek. "That hurts—"
"Well, now you know how I feel!" Laurent huffs and rubs his cheek as Gale's expression softens to a warm smile. "Are you feeling better? Do you want to go back to sleep?"
Laurent sighs. "I do feel better, but… I don't think I'll be able to sleep the rest of the night."
"Alright." Gale makes to get out of bed, but Laurent grabs his wrist to stop him.
"Eir, you don't need to get up for my sake."
"Nonsense, my love." Gale maneuvers his hand to grab Laurent's wrist in turn and gives it a light tug. "Let's go get a bath, then—those are always relaxing."

Zephyr's Cadence Moments: Lullaby
(Vierapril Day 1 - Soft)

Sleep tight.

(main Vierapril 2025 post)

ow my heart I love them so much
(Gale being a toxic parent already by 'suggesting' things to Katerina to get Laurent to do them, LOL. I mean not really but lmao)
"Dad, I'm scared…"
Laurent gently pats Katerina on the head as they lay in her bed together. "It's okay, Kat, the tiger the neighbor boy told you about isn't going to eat you. There aren't any tigers in Dalmasca."
"But… but… Mommy told me that the soldiers would ride tigers to battle! Can't they run here then too?"
"That's in Bozja, dear. I don't know if they do that anymore, either…"
"If they don't then that means the tigers are running wild!" Katarina pulls her bedsheet to cover everything but her eyes, and Laurent suppresses a sigh.
I think I need to have a chat with this boy… "If a tiger does come here, Gale and I would protect you."
Katarina fixes Laurent with a disbelieving look. "Really? Daddy doesn't seem all that strong…"
Laurent chuckles and gives the girl's shoulder a light squeeze. "Come now, he'd be sad if he heard you say that. He's far stronger than he looks."
"Hm." Katerina seems unconvinced, and shortly after, a yawn escapes her lips. "I'm tired… but…"
"I'll stay here and protect you. You settle in, okay?"
Katarina lies down, but a hint of nervousness is still apparent in her expression. She fidgets a bit, then turns to look at her father. "Will you sing to me, Dad?"
"I don't know how to sing, dear…"
"Daddy said you used to sing together when you were kids!"
Godsdamnit, Eir… "Kat, I'm nearly 200, that was a long time ago… I haven't sung since then. I don't think it'd be pleasant to hear."
"But Daddy also said that how you sound doesn't matter! As long as you put your heart into it." Katerina nods and her golden eyes sparkle in anticipation.
"I can't argue with that…" Laurent looks at the door to the bedroom with a frown, almost hoping Gale would burst through and have a good laugh at his expense. When he didn't, though, Laurent turned back to Katerina with a sigh. "Fine. I can't guarantee it'll sound good."
The small girl simply stares and waits for him to begin. Hells, what do I even sing…?
** **
Gale quietly closes the front door to the flower shop, locking it behind him with a huff. Finally free from those two. So talkative… The Viera had noticed Katerina and the neighbor's son had been getting along recently, and while he was happy she found a friend her age, the boy also seemed prone to telling tall tales. After spending tea with his parents, Gale could see where he got all the stories from.
"Now, where's Reyna…" Gale turns to look around, but his ears quickly perk up at a sound coming from Katerina's room. Is… is that singing? By the Twelve, I don't believe it…
Being as quiet as possible, Gale made his way to the bedroom, peeking inside to see Laurent softly singing in a lot, baritone voice to Katerina. He recognized the song as an old lullaby from their village—something one of the women used to sing to them when they couldn't fall asleep.
Gale smiled as he listened to his husband sing. It's been far too long since I've heard his voice, it's still lovely… After a while, Laurent trails off, brushing a few stray hairs from the sleeping Hrothgar's face, then turns to look at Gale, frustration clear on his face.
"Oh!" Guess I wasn't as quiet as I thought. "Well, good evening my—"
Laurent quickly steps out of the room and closes the door, keeping his glare fixed on his husband. "Why did you tell her I could sing?"
"I never said that—" Laurent crosses his arms, and Gale rolls his eyes. "—directly. Besides, you can sing, my love.
"That doesn't matter—"
"So you're admitting you can? After all these decades of me asking and you saying no? I'm hurt!"
Laurent responds with a low growl of annoyance, prompting Gale to step close and pull his husband into an embrace. "Reyna, it's not like anything I said to Katerina was a lie. It doesn't matter how you sound when you sing, as long as you put your heart into it…" Gale offers the other Viera a sheepish smile. "But I must say, even after all these years, your voice is still beautiful…"
The annoyed expression turns bashful at Gale's compliment. "O-oh… well… it's not as beautiful as yours…"
Gale chuckles. "You never can take a compliment… but thank you." His hands slowly make their way to Laurent's waist as he lightly pulls him closer. "Perhaps… you can sing for me tonight, as well? If you desire, I might be able to provide a few… lessons…"
Laurent sighs at his husband's poorly veiled proposition. "Who am I to deny assistance from such an accomplished bard?"
"That's the spirit, my love." Gale gently tugs on Laurent's arm as he turns to head to their room. "My lessons aren't free, though, I hope you can pay the fee…"
"You can stop with the wordplay, Eir, you're not being coy."
Gale huffs and gives Laurent's arm a harder tug. "Let me have my fun, Reyna. Now come on."

Zephyr's Cadence: Daughter
-------
The hells hath no fury than a child scorned.

Read on AO3 or keep reading after the jump

Part of FFxivWrite 2024
------
Late in life, the boys adopt a little Hrothgar girl named Katerina :) She is cute and a fireball and a handful, and they love her.
This is for FFxivWrite's day five prompt, Stamp.
"YOU. ARE. SO. MEAN!"
The Hrothgar child stamps her feet down on the ground, looking up at the Viera in a fury. Gale sighs and crosses his arms. "You can't have the garden shears, Katerina. They're sharp–"
"I WANT THEM!" Katerina stomps her foot again, as if her anger will convince him she won't cut off a limb. "I'll be careful with them, Daddy. Promise!"
Gale pinches the bridge of his nose. "It's more than being careful. They're big! What if you chop off your tiny finger–"
"I'M NOT TINY!"
"You're only five–!"
"And you're nearly 200, Gale. Why are you arguing with her?" Laurent comes out of the back room, giving Gale an amused look as he kneels down near the girl.
"I just… I–ugh!" Gale throws up his hands in defeat.
"Okay, that's enough bullying Gale for now." Laurent chuckles and holds out a small plastic pair of scissors. "How about this? These will be easier for you to hold."
"But Dad, they're not those…" Katerina pouts as she points to the shears.
"They aren't, no."
"I want those…!"
"I know. But you just want to help in the garden, right?"
Katerina crosses her arms and nods, pouting again.
"You can use these to prune the leaves and help the flowers grow. And they're easier to hold. If you promise to only use them when one of us is around, I'll let you keep them. How's that?"
The Hrothgar ponders the offer for a moment, before nodding with a smile, the foul mood from a moment ago dissipating. "Okay! Dad, let's go! I wanna play in the garden!" She carefully grabs the scissors and pulls at Laurent's hand, trying to lead him outside.
"Let me talk with Gale for a moment first, okay?"
"Okay! I'll wait for you Dad!" Katerina turns and carefully walks outside, holding the scissors as if they'll break if she drops them.
Gale sighs again, giving Laurent a quick peck on the cheek. "You're so good with her, my love."
"I'm not sure about that. Kat just likes the flowers, that's easy to understand."
"Don't sell yourself short. And don't keep her waiting, who knows what she'll get into if she gets impatient." Gale shoos his husband towards the door. "I'll make us some lunch."
