iolanthepeverells replied to your post: iolanthepeverells replied to your post:hi tumblr...
it sounds so stereotypically mid 2000s i’m laughing. but that one ship of stanton x vanessa sounds like my Type so who am i fooling??? lmfao
it is AGGRESSIVELY mid 2000s in the best kind of way. like, there are lavish descriptions of the glitter make up and miniskirts they put on in order to go to the Hot Teen Club Planet Bang.
ALSO vanessa/stanton is only really canon for like...the first book and then the author literally writes the rest of the series as though that set up never happened, and the stanton ship is with another girl called serena who has a pet raccoon but like. the #aesthetic is still there. babbies first villain romance.

Family Home Renovation with Casual Interiors
Happy new week, my dear readers! I hope you had a great weekend and may we all have a very Blessed new week. It’s truly an honor to have you here!
Interior designer Heather Scott of Heather Scott Home & Design (previously featured on the blog here) recently renovated a beautiful home and here she shares more details:
” The young couple wanted their newly purchased home to reflect their modern style. They wanted their home to be light and bright, casual and sophisticated, and “California” cool. They also wanted to be sure that their home fit their lifestyle now, but would also transition with them as they start a family in next few years.  We worked on many of the main spaces of the home since the beginning of the renovation, including the homeowner’s master bath, kitchen, breakfast room, and den.”
Take notes on the details below and have a good time!

Floor Tile
“Large tiles are not the safest option for bathroom flooring, especially in a shower. Therefore, we opted for small hexagonal marble tiles as the flooring throughout the master bath, including the shower. Smaller tiles have better grip than their larger counterparts, simply because they have so many grout lines. Smaller tile and grout keep the floor from getting too slippery, especially when wet.” – Heather Scott.

Cabinet Paint Color
Cabinet Paint Color: “Benjamin Moore 1536 Northern Cliffs Taupe” in Satin Finish.

Runner
Runner is a 3’1”x8.7” Vintage Distressed Oushak Rug Runner (one of a kind) – Similar: here, here & here.
Lighting

Home-Sweet-Home
“We installed a porch swing with navy blue and white accents. The seat is upholstered in a navy fabric with contrast pale blue piping. A mix of patterned pillows add some personality to the front porch. The dark stain wood frame and decorative siding of the bench gives a strong contrast to the front porch swing.” – Heather Scott.
Outdoor Fabric: Sunbrella.

"The Prince of Night still feels love. After I realized this was true, I went along with your deception as well, because I knew I could use your secret to my advantage one day."
"Like now," Stanton said.
"Precisely," Adamantis replied. "This love of yours is so deep, so fervent and passionate, that it makes you risk your own existence time and again in order to ensure Serena's safety."
Stanton didn't reply.

"Come with me," the other voice ordered.
The two walked away.
"That was Stanton," Serena whispered. "The second voice belonged to him."
"Are you sure?" Vanessa asked as she stepped back to the door.
"Of course I'm sure," Serena answered. "I'd know his voice anywhere."

He pulled away, his eyes concerned. "You need to be more cautious," he said simply.
"Why do you care what happens to me?" And in a flash, she knew. If something bad happened in her future, Serena could be in danger. She was the one he was trying to protect.
What made him so devoted to a Daughter? Surely it was because Serena was the key, able to alter the balance between light and dark forces.
"I do it because I love Serena," he said, answering her thoughts.

"A sword?" Serena looked surprised. "Stanton has been trying to find a sword."
"Why does he want it?" Jimena asked. Her eyes flashed, and then she and Serena stared at each other as if a telepathic conversation were happening between them.
"He probably wants to destroy it," Catty put in, not bothering to hide her accusation. "We'd better find it first."
Serena turned on her. "I can't believe you still don't trust Stanton. Why do you always think he's going to do something to hurt us?" Serena frowned and folded her arms over her chest, her bracelets jingling. "Don't bother to answer my question. I caught your thoughts. Someday you'll know Stanton isn't who you think."
"He's next in line to the Atrox," Vanessa said in frustration, defending Catty.

"I understand the danger." Serena felt miserable. How could she not help Stanton after he had risked so much to help her? "But Stanton risked his soul to save me. Don't I have to do the same for him?"
"You might be risking more than he did," Jimena argued.

"What else did you see?"
"I saw you leaving us and choosing to remain with Stanton," Jimena said, her black eyes solemn.
Serena shook her head. "That will never happen. Besides, you just said that you were wrong about the way you had interpreted the last vision, so maybe you're wrong about the second part, too."
Jimena didn't look convinced.

The ocean breeze stopped suddenly as if the air had become too heavy to move.
"He found a way to drain my power," Stanton answered. "I couldn't stop him without setting him free."
"Why didn't you release him, then?" Serena was struggling to breathe now. The change didn't seem to be affecting Stanton.
"I knew he would hunt you down if I did," Stanton explained, his eyes searching the sky.

He bent down and murmured against her ear, “You look so beautiful tonight. I don’t want this moment to ever end.”
“I know,” she answered. “It’s so much better now that we don’t have to hide.”
He caressed her face, longing to kiss her.
I want you to kiss me, Serena traced the words across his mind. She turned her face up, her eyes half-closed with expectation.
He hesitated, then bent his head until his lips hovered over hers. Their breath mingled and she closed her eyes. He kissed her soft warm lips, then her tongue brushed across his. A delicious longing spread through him. He loved the feeling of wanting her.
He pulled back and stared at her dark beauty before he nestled his lips against the curve of her neck and breathed the perfume in her hair. He felt happier than he could ever remember feeling, but he also felt tired. His knees trembled and his back began to throb as if the weight of his newly mortal body were more than it could support.
“You need to rest,” Serena said.
Stanton looked down at Serena. “You’re right. I think I’d better rest. I feel…” He laughed. How did he feel? Tired and more. They were all new sensations for him.

“Stanton,” she whispered, and as she said his name a deluge of memories flooded over her, swirling with tumultuous speed around her every thought. He wasn’t pushing them into her mind. The recollections were forcing their way back from some dark hidden place deep inside her.
He touched her cheek softly as if he knew what was happening. She closed her eyes.
“I’m sorry.” She spoke with deep penetrating sadness as she finally recalled how many times Stanton had warned her about Zahi. “I should have believed you.”
“How could you?” he asked. “He only left you with bad memories of me.”

He stroked her cheek. He cared for her more than he ever had. But he also understood the risks she faced. Followers would want revenge for what she had done. The Atrox would be unrelenting. He felt the weight of these dangers and knew they were greater than before because now she no longer had his protection.
“I knew the consequences, Stanton,” she said simply, as if she had been in his mind again. “I understood what would happen before we decided to bring you back.”
She seemed more goddess to him than she ever had.
She smiled and her words slipped across his mind, You were worth the risk.
