“shit, you think so?”  is she disgruntled? no, no, not at all. why would sam be upset when some movie obsessed freak attacked her baby sister, and everyone thinks she’s to blame? there’s nothing offensive about that, absolutely fucking not. she’s got her arms crossed below her chest, as if holding back further venom in her tone.  “y’know, your niece thinks that i’m the killer ... that i’m  —  seeking revenge for what this town did to my father.”  the final word is spat.

she hates b.illy l.oomis. she despises that his face threatens to haunt her no matter where she goes. sam will never carry his name, but every step, every heartbeat, every breath she takes, his blood pumps through her veins  —  and there’s no way to ever change that.

A sad smile found a home on her moonlight features as she shifted her gaze to look at him. ❝ Only so much running low and running from myself, only so much running, and the running never helps. ❞ There was part of her that knew those words were partially a lie. Running had saved her life, but now it seemed all she did was run from the memories that haunted her. She wasn't sure why she had sought him out to bare her troubled mind; perhaps it was because she always had fond memories of him — especially his enthusiasm at the video store.  ❝ I — don't know what to do with all of these feelings. ❞ She admitted something she hadn't spoken aloud until now. She had discovered there was a certain weight that followed you when you stared death in the face when you confronted the grim reaper and came out on the other side. For better or for worse, she was here, and she was alive. 

It was easier to say these things to him because she thought perhaps he would be impartial. After all, they had once run in the same group before she had left Stu for Steve. Ever since she had come back, she had been searching for answers, trying to wrap her mind around the events that had plagued their town. ❝ Yeah, it comes in waves, and it crushes me sometimes. ❞ She admitted with cynical laughter accompanying her words. 

Soon enough, a smile was on her face, and whether it was just a mask to hide a lie or a genuine thing, it would have surely been debatable. When the dreamer dies, so dies the dream. ❝ Well, enough about me, how are you? ❞ She inquired after a moment. But such a thing wasn't entirely appropriate to ask, was it? This was especially true when considering that they both once faced the figure clad in black with a ghostface mask.
