Creative Spotlight #3: Jeong Yunho

Intro: With so many new Atinys coming in, I figured now would be a good time to shed some light on all the boys' creative solo projects over the years, big and small.

ANEWZ

Yunho once shared he wanted to be a news reporter/anchorman when he was younger which led to the inception of ANEWZ back in 2020:

That same year, he got to meet Jang Sung Kyu, an anchor he'd been looking up to, and interview him to get some tips and advice (yes, this was in the same video where Wooyoung sat so hard on Seonghwa's lap, Seonghwa looked like he was about to cry and that's why the view count is so high):

ANEWZ is by far the most consistent content we get from any of the members, with the most recent one being released on July 24th of this year:

We get Yunho talking to himself on the regular, interviewing other members, dropping the gossip about behind the scenes shenanigans and more. It's lovely.

Imitation Soundtrack

As a main cast member of the drama Imitation, Yunho was part of the fictional group Sparkling, together with Seonghwa and San, which means he also participated in various performances throughout the show, but let's highlight the most iconic one right here and now:

They made fun of Diamond for so long and still do sometimes ("FInalLY NOW, it's my tIME"). This performance is also where that dance move comes from Yunho is doing here (watch older content and you'll see Wooyoung doing that every five minutes - iconic):

Collabs

Around two years ago, Yunho, San, and Jongho were featured on a Pentatonix song called A Little Space which you can find here (it even includes a Korean verse!):

That same year, him and Hongjoong were featured in a Pepsi Commercial song together with Rain and members of Monsta X and Brave Girls (iconic):

On August 1st, 2024, Yunho was featured in an Eve Seo song called KkungKkungDda. The MV is very fun and goofy, featuring Yunho as the boy at school every girl wants:

Cover Song

The first cover he ever released on Ateez's channel came out 3 months ago, titled Even If It's Your Happiness:

Filmed on an old camera, the footage is grainy and in 3-by-4 format, giving it that nostalgic 90's feel. The song itself kicks off extremely pretty and cute, cozy and warm, perfectly fitting Yunho's voice and the self-shot footage which shows us the world through his eyes.

Then, reaching the halfway mark, the song explodes, drums kicking in, and we get to hear his powerful register, allowing him to really show off as a vocalist. It's really beautiful.

Fashion

Like Hongjoong and San, Yunho has now also made his debut in the fashion world. In his case, by attending Seoul Fashion Week, as can be seen on his Instagram:

is from Toronto and therefore ½ of Canadian and ⅓ of English line - so he’s obviously fluent in English!

an amazing dancer - he trained very hard to be where he is now (went viral as “the bucket hat guy” from their Bad Guy dance practice with the 1MILLION dance studio)

has a very soft, beautiful voice needs more lines

has very sharp features and beautiful eyes - his personality is very different from his cold looks though, he’s actually very soft, caring and thoughtful

he’s very gullible and innocent (also needs to be protected), therefore often the victim of jokes - most people think he’s a bit dumb thanks to that, but he’s really not: he likes to read, watches a lot of documentaries, and is just more on the quiet side in general, he likes to think before he speaks (unlike Hyunjae for example, no shade)

a bit of a drama queen but he’s so cute it’s okay

amazing vocal skills, does most of the ad-libs

gets bullied by the other members, which is kinda fair but also a bit (too) much sometimes (#letChanheelive2020)

is a math genius, can calculate extremely big numbers inside his head and FASTER THAN AN ACTUAL CALCULATOR (this is SORCERY)

½ of the other iconic duo beside MoonBae aka “NyuKyu” (together with Changmin aka “Q”) - you heard of dumb and dumber, now get ready for New and Q!

takes the best selfies, holds the official title of Selfie King (according to the others, he takes the most selfies - according to himself, he doesn’t even take that many but just takes them in a very obvious way, so the others always notice him doing so)

▸ Ji Changmin (aka “Q”) - main dancer, vocalist

born on November 5, 1998 (yep, another Scorpio)

one of the best dancers in the industry (everyone can fight me on this) - went viral for his improvised dance to the Mario music

STAGE DEMON, has one of the best stage presences EVER, goes from 0 to 100 in literally no time

so cute it HURTS and takes the best boyfriend aesthetic pics (all moodboard makers thank him for this)

has dimples he likes to poke when saying “music cue (q)” (me: *cries*)

can impersonate a giraffe and a pigeon

½ of NyuKyu aka dumb and dumber (WE LOVE BFFS) - they have some very iconic (cooking) vlives together

before debut, he participated in the second season of mnet���s Produce 101 (was eliminated in Ep. 11 and ranked #19) - The Boyz were actually often referred to as “Juhaknyeon’s group” before/shortly after their debut

a flawless rapper, just... truly superb. also an amazing dancer !

actually auditioned to be a vocalist (so he has amazing vocals, too), but became a rapper instead

tbz’ unofficial stuntman (as seen during Road to Kingdom), even though he’s actually really scared of heights

VOGUE UK: 11 Times Blackpink Sat Front Row In Looks That Brought Their Fashion A-Game

One happy result of the increasing diversification of fashion? You’re likely to catch a glimpse of one of the members of K-Pop supergroup Blackpink sitting front row during Fashion Week. If their high-energy performances can be described as “maximal”, with their outfits neatly co-ordinated, Jennie, Rosé, Jisoo and Lisa use the front rows of fashion’s most illustrious brand presentations to debut more laidback looks.

That’s not to say they don’t make an effort. You’ll find the girls wearing top-to-toe Chanel, Celine or Prada with a smattering of covetable accessories and an immaculately coiffed hairstyle. Each has their favourite house: Jennie regularly attends Chanel shows, and Lisa loves to see Hedi Slimane’s Celine collections during Paris Fashion Week, having dropped by at Prada in Milan last season, too.

And, since the July couture shows have gone digital, with the September presentations still showing a “TBC” status in the wake of the pandemic, it might be a while yet before you catch them front row again. In the meantime, take a look at how Jennie, Rosé, Jisoo and Lisa are helping transform fashion — one chic outfit at a time.

Jennie attended the Chanel show at Paris’s Grand Palais wearing a classic pale blue tweed suit by the house. The look paired perfectly with Karl Lagerfeld’s scenic beach set and was completed with a matching Chanel handbag and a selection of mixed-metal Coco Crush rings.

It’s fashion time! It means all the hottest brands and designers in South Korea’s booming fashion industry are ready to showcase their 2020 F/W collections, bringing all the latest trends for the upcoming seasons and gathering an international audience of critics, buyers, bloggers and fashionistas in Dongdaemun-gu for the biannual event.

The Seoul Fashion Week will be held on the third week of March, starting on Tuesday and ending on Sunday at Dongdaemun Design Plaza. The fashion shows and special events will happen in different moments through the jam-packed week. While the shows are restricted to vip guests and press, several activities have been prepared within the perimeter for the general public to join including designer exhibitions, make-up testing booth (as seen here) and a surprise guerilla concert. Delicious food trucks will be open for people to savor as well. All fashion shows will be broadcast live on LED screens outside the exhibition hall, as well as streamed live on the event’s official website.

Many celebrities are expected to walk on the ramp leading up to the famous blue carpet, pose for photos and greet the fans before they enter the futuristic DDP. Whether you’re a street style fanatic or just came to see you favorite idol, this is a good opportunity to hang out with your friends and see different styles and people. There’s no better excuse to try new trends yourself – there’s always a chance to have your outfit captured by a photographer looking for the coolest styles outside the shows.
