something I've also noticed with sageuk is that they tend to be the only (popular) dramas where you really see Koreans w tan/brown skin
#they're mostly extras but even some of the main cast.. it's funny cuz we're so used to seeing paper white actors#like there is noticeable skin tone variety instead of just really pale#seo bi is the lightest probably#many of the farmers have tan or brown skin though in episode 5#it's unfortunate that this is probably more so due to colorism and how brown skin is associated with the working class#and based on the logic they were using yeong shin also should've had brown skin#but I digress
