look you guys don’t understand i know Dan Feng comes off as really cold in the short but imagine how experiencing the universe outside of the xianzhou and away from the responsibilities imposed on him SINCE BIRTH, with the express crew to guide him, has given Dan Heng a chance to grow into and act on his own emotions. ofc DF is cold in the short, it’s DH’s perception of him, and outward temperament is not your inner self especially if you’re a political figure your entire life and are forced to do things you may not necessarily want to because your duty demands it (i am very normal about them i swear)

not hsr hi3 but im so excited for the day that hua shows up as an exp in hsr i hope we get to meet her instead of just READING about her just because there's so much potential about how hua may manage mara. i dont know enough about general hua but seeing the way that fu hua also manages her memories too and how she knows that despite the suffering, these memories are also what drives her forward and what allows her to understand her own identity, i also feel like there's some nice potential too about hua's management of mara. i guess it's something that jingyuan also faces too - given that he's lived for so long and faced so much loss yet has not been marastruck - but ;; w ;; huaaaa pleeaaaaaase

but also the way nuwa and fuxi both hope that fu hua will be able to let go of these memories and move forward - to forget ever being just a tool for dr mei and to live an ordinary life makes me so sad because losing nuwa and fuxi inevitably plays into how fu hua is now and just 😭😭😭

well hi :3 welcome to deja’s skinblending guide. this is my first full written tutorial so excuse me if its not very good LAWL before we get started, here's the tools i'll be using

photoshop 2022 (theres cracked version everywhere on tumblr)

blender 4.1

sims 4 ripper

blender + the ripper aren't required to make skins, plenty of people don't go that extra step, but i love using it for placement help

okay lets fuckin go gamers heres my very in depth process for making my ocs skins

miss dolly is gonna be our model today. she already has a skin but im gonna add some little details for the sake of example + some tats cause ive been meaning to anyway.

so when i first get started on making someone a skin, ill find a good base to use and then add details from other categories like nosemasks, eyebags, contours, etc.

my fav skin creators are @sims3melancholic and @thisisthem. my bases are usually thisisthem, and then i'll pick through a couple s3m skins and make notes on my phone about what parts i wanna take off of them (like, say, i like how a certain s3m skin's nose looks. i'll use that instead of a nosemask)

my goal when im gathering things i wanna add is to free up as many slots as i can. id rather add cheshire's freckles onto her skin than use up the freckle slot in skin details that i could use for something else, yknow?

ill repeat this process for makeup next. obviously im not giving my ocs permanent full glam, but some lipsticks can add better texture, you can get highlights/blush from........the blush section LOL and i love using this obscurus eyeliner at a low-ish opacity

just adds an extra level of detail i love. i think what keeps my sims looking consistent next to each other is that i tend to use some of the same details all across the board

make sure for all makeup/skin detail/tattoo category swatches you use, you make note of what swatch it exactly is. when you go into s4s to export the file, you're gonna have to manually select it and if u cant remember what skintone u chose out it can be annoying :/

note that she is completely nakey aside from her piercings while i pick what im gonna use for her skin! no clothing but u can keep on their hair. this is so we have a clear view of everything (and i mean EVERYTHING) for blender.

after you make sure u save the sim/household to ur gallery, you can close out of cas and save ur game! i forgot to do this bc im a fucking idiot but its okay bc you will not. its not REALLY necessary to do this as long as you know exactly what packages you need to locate for texture exporting

i have a million fucking characters so i made a deja senti skinblending folder to keep it all organized :-)

this is what it looks like inside. gives u a pretty good overview of what ur gonna be doing tbh. the 't' folder is all the textures we're about to export

thankfully i do have a version of dahlia saved in my gallery so even tho i didnt go it before i closed my game i can still show u what to do in tray importer lol. i have multiple sims in one household, so i narrowed it down by going up top and selecting dahlia / human / and her everyday outfit.

since im gonna give her this blush, i right click and hit open w package viewer so itll find it and open s4s for me

anime wow sound. im gonna change the color manually in photoshop so it doesnt matter to me what swatch i export. hit that green export button under the list of diffuse/shadow/etc (u dont need to worry about all those options, just diffuse) and save it to ur folder!

once ur done gathering ur textures ur good to close out of tray importer and s4s(we'll come back to s4s later tho)

thats step two! the quickest step lawl

this is where i start being a little extra. u dont have to rip ur sim and use blender if u dont want to, but i think it can rly help bc the default sim in s4s doesn't have ur sims facial features and can make ur skins look wonky/wont give an accurate representation of how itll look in game. this cuts out having to go in game/out of game over and over to check

so in simripper once u load up ur sim, the important part is to make sure u have it set to export the dae with separate meshes. once thats done u can import it into blender and there's plenty of other tutorials out there how to use simripper n all that.

so once u get the dae loaded into blender im gonna send u on a little side quest over to this ask i answered where i explain how i separate eyes from the head mesh. next thing ur gonna open is photoshop! or whatever u have thats similar

say hi to flat dahlia. u should have ur own guy but flat open now too :-) along with everything else ur gonna combine. in my case its blush and a titty mask. im gonna start w the blush so i zoomed into her face in blender. i went into the blush file and copied, then back into my base skin file and pasted into place with crtl+shift+v

please do not be like me. make sure u rename ur layers as you copy and paste them into the main skin file. do this because it DOES matter what order ur layers are in. u dont want to put ur highlight under ur nose mask cause the nose mask will just cover the highlight etc etc. i already lost what layer the new blush i added is. what is wrong w me

so when u have ur first detail pasted on and in place, ur gonna save the base skin file as a psd. then go into blender, and in the little textures window ur gonna replace the diffuse file ur dae came loaded with with ur new psd file

u should see the change u made but mine was super subtle so im gonna show it to u when i put on the cleavage overlay

when it comes to stuff like this, ur obviously gonna want to pick the closest to ur skintone swatch as u can. i did not do this, because again, im an idiot

mine is way too pale LAWL whoops. we can fix this tho

i add a hue/saturation adjustment and make it a clipping mask using that square w the arrow so the adjustment will ONLY affect the mask

from there i just make little adjustments until the color match up is as perfect as i can make it. for example for this, ik that it needs to be a little warmer and a little more saturated, so im gonna bump the hue and saturation sliders to the right and it was pretty much perfect

tiddies with no mask > with mask no adjustments > with mask and adjustments

and ur gonna go ahead and repeat that process with every single thing u wanna add to ur skin.

so as for tattoos! this is another thing ur gonna wanna rename the layers for because depending on how heavily ur sims can be tatted it can get A LOT

here's psyche's neat little tattoo folder. its separated into where the tattoo is and then

i find all my tattoo inspo on pinterest using flash sheets/keywords in the search. my ocs usually have sub-boards that i hoard inspo in for them specifically. dahlia doesnt have one bc ive never seen her as the most tattooed person, but i think she'd have some at least

this process is pretty much the same as putting on skin details! its all about adjusting to what u like. for example, i like when my sims tattoos are a little faded and a bit blurred at the edges cause it looks a little more real

when it comes to images i find on pinterest, ill save the image and first try to make it as clean as i can

for example, this lil guy

a curve mask made the whites brighter and the blacks darker as u can see. then ill go into filter > reduce noise to soften the harsh edges

then i flatten it, copy and paste to the skin file, n place it wherever i want it to go :-)

okay so now ur gonna want to make sure u .psd file is saved (it should be bc we've been checking our progress w blender) and then merge the visible layers (NOT flatten, merge visible. we need the transparency around the skin to be in tact)

ur focus is over here. make sure the option filled is the top one, and then hit the cas button

this menu will open, ur gonna go up to part type and find the option skin details, forehead. pick the first forehead wrinkle option that appears and hit 'next.' itll prompt you to save ur new file n give it a name, i usually just make it my sim's name cause i have a folder in my mods folder for specifically my cc

remember wayyyy back when we were exporting the skin details? ur gonna go back to that same section and hit 'import' instead of export. select ur skin's .png file, and poof !

this part is EXTREMELY important. go up to the warehouse tab

in the 'data' section ur gonna see a box at the top labeled 'filter.' thats where i typed in 'compos' just so it would show me JUST the compositionmethod section since theres a lot of shit in there lawl. yours is initially gonna say '3,' but we're gonna change it to '0' mind you, this is because MY skins are all alpha. maxis match overlays do not show up on my skins because my comp method is set to 0, meaning it has top priority essentially.

after you do that, you can hit save and place that .package file you created into your mods folder!!! and GUESS WHAT BESTIE UR DONE!!!!! U DID IT :DDDD

wait do you know how in that one "ml writers watch the season five finale" video they said something about the Wish having a trick? that it is not what it seems to be? and you know how we think we've figured it out, that emelie was never resurrected but Nathalie was?

but. do you know how emelie was actually never dead in the first place, that she was in a magical coma from creating adrien, and that gabriel never wanted to resurrect her, but wake her up? how the cost for that Wish wouldn't be someone else dying, but someone else falling ill instead?

and do you know how emelie agreste is no longer in a coma. the Wish clearly showed her floating up in the air next to gabriel, dead, both of them dead. both of them dying at the cost of the Wish, would mean not one person is resurrected, but two. in the season finale, we only saw one, nathalie, who is now alive because of the Wish.

and because every action has an equal and opposite reaction, someone else needs to come back alive. someone else. someone equal to nathalie. nathalie used the miraculous of the peacock to create sentimonsters. she abused the sentimonsters that she created, and then she got very sick and died.

who else do we know, someone who is supposedly dead, but in light of this new information, might not be? someone who ticks all of those boxes?

no one can be better than his son. he resurrected félix's father to hurt félix. maybe he doesnt have the peacock or the amok, but colt could still do things. like, make félix imperfect for example. channel his inner jealousy and have félix fall down the ranks, until he is below adrien, someplace where he can't possibly compare.

all gabriel claims he wants is a perfect world for his son. félix, according to him, ruins that.

this next season, we all know, is going to be intense. marinette has new information about the senti lore, and because of that, so does alya. félix has his miraculous back. adrien has his amok back. the peacock miraculous is in the right hands, argos got seen in a new light, marinette has forgiven him, and now he's part of the team.

Think about it. This is a kids show. It's really difficult to portrait abuse in children media, because not every case of abuse is the same.

But do you know what kids do know?

Emotions

And a sentimonsters is a creation based on an emotion. A simple concept, right?

Ok, then how parents usually explain how a kid is conceived?

Mommy and Daddy loved each other and you were born

Gabriel and Emilie also loved each other. Adrien was planned to be conceived out of their love. Love is enough, right? Adrien should have been happy, right?

Except he isn't. Because Gabriel's love turned into power hungriness and then into abuse.

Kagami was born to be the perfect descendant, and it was turned into abuse

Felix was born into a semi-loving house, but his father was abusive as well.

All of them, sentis, were conceived with a purpose, with "love" in mind. What a lot of children in abusive households tend to be born in. But that "love" is never what it is. It's about control, it's about having the power over someone who you are supposed to protect.

That's what sentimonsters are supposed to represent in the show.

It's horrible, but it's something kids can understand and adults should realize as well.

It's not about what Adrien and the others are, but how the adults, their caretakers, are using their love in such a terrifying way.

Ok so cute baby-drien with mom, its a cute scene. But its worrying Like for the effect it might have on real kids with distant parents. Cause... a lot of kids feel one of their parents isnt present enough in their life. Usually cause they're something like a truckdriver or other job that involves being away from home for long periods of time. The fact that Adrien's "but we dont see dad, does that mean he doesnt love us" is textually correct insofar that Gabriel doesnt love him... (he loves Emilie, Adrien is just a glorified pet kept around cause Emilie wanted a kid). Im kind of worried this scene might make some real-world children conclude an actually loving parent, working hard to keep the family fed is the equivalent to Gabe. --- Oh new designs of Mari's grandparents, they look good. Its nice that Mari actually asks for permission (and gets it) for this episode's hijinks. She's there to support her boyfriend through a difficult time. --- Look, I absolutely dont believe that Lord Graham-Cracker is gonna be at all suprised to find his grandkid flirting with a maid.

Ok so we're going from "Highness' to "duke". I dont know if thats realism (in that a lot of inbred-types have multiple titles, born to some married into others) or if thats inconsistency. But i do believe that if its realism, that realism would probably be missed by most of the target audience.

Wait, Adriens Dad-Gramma uses Jagged Stone as an expletive. That is hilarious. OK FUCK YOU PLAGG. Adrien needs his father now more then ever you do NOT go off to the fucking kitchens for the cheesballs. like i get we're trying to make an episode happen, but this is our first time realy seeing Plagg in the Post-Gabe! world and for him to immediately leave adrien when he needs the support the most? HasttagNotMyPlagg. --- I agree with Gabemom (look if you introduce 4 people at once with half-a-line each, im gonna struggle with names. I managed to get Emil&Milie cause of the obvious Emilie-naming and Johny because it stuck out but i forgot your name immediatly,) So the rings represent their dual citisenship? Is that what Emil just said cause that feels like it must be a mistranslation on the captioning.

Emil is a cunt "suffer in silence as you're known for doing so well". I hate the fact that i already know the twin rings are gonna contain the akuma. both because adriens fucking soul is in there and because the cheeseballs feel like they'd work just as well. 1-it'd be a parallel to the Dearest Family! cake. 2-As Johny's attempt to reach across the aisle that Millie embraces and Emil rejects, it represents the family dynamics in this episode better then the rings do. and if for some reason that isn't "one object" enough, the fucking custody contract could be the item instead. there are 3 props in this scene and they chose the one that is both the heavy-handed-est and that will make the episode explicitly end with the show further devaluing adriens life by once more killing him in a way that'll inevitably emphasize how little his life is worth to the narrative (cause he can always be resurected). Now there is something they could do with this that'd be interesting. but i doubt they're willing to move the plot along in episode 4. That'd be: Have LB breaks the ring to get the akuma out, Adrien dies a senti-death on-screen and have Adrien realise that he's getting "Mr. Stark I dont feel so good"-ed as he dies. Then have an end-of-episode scene of him asking Plagg about how he started turning to dust only for Plagg to struggle with a partial non-answer. End with a lingering shot of Adrien clearly curious and dissatisfied with Plagg's Platitude. Like this could theoretically be the episode that starts Adrien pulling the Senti-thread. But given that this episode started with the Emilie flashback and knowing how bookending works... they're not ending the episode with that scene. They're ending it either with adrien's last time seeing Mom alive, or Gabriel returning home and actually proving kid-drien correct about not loving him.

Basically: I disagree with the choice of the rings as the akumatised item. Now its time to place a bet: Does the episode actually acknowledge that adriens soul is in there. 1-Do we actually get to see him die on screen. Will the episode acknowledge that breaking the rings in the episode killed adrien or are they going to just leave that entirely off-screen so the Senti-Denialists can continue to live in their Bargaining Stage. 2-Will Ladybug actually struggle emotionally (as in will it make her hesitate) to break her soulmates soul in two to save the day. While i think its possible that Mari will have a textual line about the soul-rings and senti-stuff. I dont think that the show is going to bother with actually dealing with the implications. --- Ok so the "woof woof who can growl the loudest" line doesnt work unless you give this woman a puppy or something. Ringmaster. its a good bit of wordplay, cause she owns the rings, and because she's gonna make them fight in an arena. Oh gab-mom was named gabrielle. Ok the mnemonic there is... obvious. Giant circle-staircase serving as this episodes equivalent to Weredad's grapevines. Ok so Ringmaster-millie is saying the episodes point out loud here. That Adrien SHOULD get to make his own decisions. But we all know that this episode is going to shoot itself in the foot by having Adrien stuck as a literal prize to be won and having him do nothing to cause his own freedom because he's just a prize for Mari to win. He's not going to get to choose to free himself, despite that being the explicit fucking text of the episode. Mixed Messaging. If the episode is about adriens right to self determination, then this episode should have adrien escape the prison himself. --- So maribug just tied Ringmaster and the Weredads up with her scarf, stole the ring and kicked them down a hole that is at an unspecified height implied to be of a "terminal velocity"-nature. Ladybug, our hero, goes out of her way to non-lethally incapacitate the Grandkuma's and then follows it ub by just casually executed them. We even get to hear them do a little "falling scream". They actually had her struggle to kill adrien. As much as im relieved that they did, im dissapointed it was ever a question i felt i needed to ask. Still to see if they acknowledge Adrien just died though. I dont like the "admit you love frenchfries" line. It comes out of nowhere. (1-french fries are belgian, 2-there is no setup. it feels like there should be, or used to be, a set-up line about him prefering British Fish and Chips that would've ended with "well chips and fries are the same thing") --- And straight to the post credit "your father truly never loved you" scene i was afraid this episode was gonna end with when we started with Emilie. No acknowledgement that Adrien just had to see watch himself die. OK im going on a tangent cause this shot lingers on Nathalie's over-blued eyes a bit. Has all the "my moms eyes were blue" things in previous seasons not been a senti-based inconsistency, but a "deep down inside, adrien knows that Nathalie is his mom in all the ways that counts" thing? Cause this shot feels like its meant to say that. --- In summary: this episode had 3 goals 1-Remind us that Adrien's life is expendable and he doesnt even know it (check) 2-Remind us Nathalie is his real mom. (success) 3-Adriens right to self determination (mentioned and alluded to, but explicitly defied. He doesnt escape the Trophy, and he doesnt decide that Nathalie is his mom Marinette decides that Nathalie is his mom) Normally i'd say "two out of three aint bad", but given that number three is about the abuse-victims basic right to autonomy. NO this IS bad.

WIP Hand Me The Shovel

Nino is worried about Adrien. He's been working on some mysterious project for some time now for every waking moment of the day for months now. The few times that Nino sees him, Adrien always looks, paler, skinnier, and with darker circles under his eyes, and each time, Adrien rushes him away. Then, one day, Adrien called, and invites Nino on a camping trip. And Nino, of course, says yes. Together, they journey far out to the country side until they reach a small, but luxurious cabin with a waterfront view. As they unpack their belongings and prepare a nice dinner, Adrien remains quiet, always responding to Nino’s questions, but never actually SAYING anything. It's beyond maddening for Nino. Until, finally, a breakthrough. During dinner, Adrien nervously brings up the idea of going for a hike to test out a new gadget he'd bought. It isn't like Adrien to buy things on a whim, and it really isn't like him to be so nervous. Deep down, Nino knows that this isn't a normal hike. Yet he loves Adrien. So he says yes. The next day, Nino’s suspicions are confirmed when Adrien pulls out a device that Nino’s never seen before and starts scanning every bisible inch of dirt they can find, backtracking frequently. Half-joking, Nino asks Adrien if its a metal detector or something, and Adrien gives a rueful smile back before saying its something like that. He doesn't elaborate, and he clams up even tighter for the rest of the search. That is until, he lets out a gasp.

Its part relief and part resignation, but Nino doesnt quiet understand why. Then, Adrien tells Nino the terrible truth. "This is my grave," he tells Nino. "Adrien Agreste's grave". If Nino were a younger man, he might've dismissed Adrien as being crazy or a liar, but living in Paris under the reign of teeror that was Hawkmoth does things zo a person. So instead Nino asks Adrien if he's a ghost. "No", Adrien chokes out, shaking his head. "A sentimonster" "Okay", Nino says, nodding slowly. He can handle this. He knows senti-monsters, more than he knows ghosts. "How long-?" "Since I was 8," Adrien admitted, "or he was 8? I dunno. It's so complicated. I mean, where does he start and I begin?" Nino nods, pretending to understand. Then, faking a calm he doesn't feel, he asks, "What happened?" Adrien shakes his head. "He was swimming in the lake, and...and he drowned. Mom and Dad, they didn't want any questions. So....so they put him here, and they just went home and pretended it never happened." Adrien starts crying. "They made up some fake story about Adrien being sick, and then Mom started doing experiments with the Peacock. There were so many, she'd made herself sick doing it, but...she made me." 'Maybe? Or maybe it someone else! I...I don't even know if I was the one she replaced him. Maybe she made us over and over and over again, just brand new dolls in a line to give the illusion of growing up! (a1) from what ive taken inside my cogging brain in the event, seele is like... a variant of HoD? rebirth basically, technically she's still HoD yes? but... vita just said "nah death doesnt suit your cute ass" ... am i getting that right lmao

(a2) that, from my own understandings, a herrscher can be created at anytime with the right energy levels in any situation, right? (speculation based off on senti, prometheus, schrodinger, vita, and misteln)

(b1) ... with that in mind, the transformation of HoR is kinda baffling when we see seele suddenly gushed out from the pretty waters, is trauma the main play here during the making of a herrscher? emotional vulnerability? a wailing, cute red seele accepting something?

(b2) i havent gotten that far into the main plot of the story, but i assume friendship, trauma and accepting shit are one of many things involving a birth of a herrscher, a psychological, mental strength against the will perhaps?

besides all that, lets take a moment to appreciate vita's DESIGN BECAUSE DAMN. DAMN. MAKING ME INSPIRED FR and it was really damn nice to see bronya and mei interact with red seele in this way, wholesome moment nngh, misteln's outfit too, she's so fucking amazing (reminds me of kafka cough cough)

Considering I'm 75% sure you sent this pairing in just to have me tear it to shreds, I feel comfortable being nasty about it.

Feligami as a ship emphasizes and underlines the artificiality of these characters both in universe and out of universe. It's the token ship where a couple is brought together by the writers specifically because they fill out the same niche. The ethnicity couple, the nerd couple, the artificial slave species couple.

Look, Miraculous has a really, really, REALLY bad track record with making its Sentimonsters seem like actual people worthy of sympathy and human rights. The creation and controlling of these creatures is totally okay most of the time, no one considers how horrifying it is that their lives are so fleeting, fragile and easily controlled by others and they're called Sentimonsters. The only character who cared about Sentibug dying was Adrien, apparently another Sentimonster so, with Félix's season 5 characterization of him caring about Kagami and Adrien because they're Sentis, we have a 3/3 track record of only another Sentimonster choosing to care about someone they know for a fact is a Sentimonster from the get-go.

Félix only started caring about Kagami because she was part of the same slave species he is. Kagami's previous love interest was also a part of this slave species and Kagami was explicitly attracted to him because they were "so alike". With Kagami exclusively falling for guys who are part of the same species as her, who also easily fall for her right back, the show is implying Sentimonsters can subconsciously recognize each other, and this instict presents itself as them being drawn to each other.

Outside of all this Sentimonster nonsense, the pairing also emphasizes how artificial these characters are from a narrative perspective. Kagami is headstrong, and wants to pave her own way. Her previous love interest and first friend were both people who were kind to a fault. Now she falls for an asshole who's also a perfect clone of her previous boyfriend, a breakup she had such a difficult time getting over that she couldn't even see him for a time. It's obvious Kagami likes Félix only because the writers want her to like him. She also shields the writers' pet Félix from the consequences of his own actions, something I've pointed out the writers loooooove to do with Félix. All of this makes it obvious that she's not a real person but a made up character who will do and feel what the writers want regardless of her previous characterization, which just takes a more savvy viewer completely out of the story.

Félix's personality also keeps changing with his every appearance, and him falling for Kagami is just more of the same. The Félix in season three might as well have been another identical Sentimonster and the only connection he still has to his season 4 behavior is him still having the Peacock Miraculous. I actually saw a screenshot of him doing an Adrien expression sincerely because he just wubs Kagami so much, and I gagged. It's just gross when he does the doe-eyed look.

a lot of this is extrapolated but (puffs my chest out) i think i know the characters pretty darn well so im confident that im on the right track with thinking this way

this is gonna be all over the place. but when am i not. so anyway:

obviously emilie and amelie's birth order matters because one of them was the curious and whimsical heiress and the other was the well-behaved and studious not-heiress.

however adrien and félix's birth order isn't outright stated, just implied. emilie used the peacock miraculous first (obviously). she also died from complications with the peacock brooch before colt fathom did ("you remember our shooting contests....sorry i didn't go to your dad's funeral" anyone?). so adrien must be a few days/weeks/months older than félix is

now the reason that this even slightly matters to me whatsoever is that watching s3-4 of miraculous, i wouldn't have guessed that at all. félix has the complete upper hand over adrien when it comes to knowledge of their situation. he manipulates adrien and leads him to do certain things to further his plan. he confronts gabriel without letting adrien in on anything whatsoever.

but. BUT.

emilie was the curious and whimsical older twin who couldn't help but want to help her sister when she was in trouble (everyone being mad at her for her fertility issues).

pair this with the fact that FÉLIX LOVES ADRIEN. FÉLIX LOVES ADRIEN SOOOO MUCH (as we learned in the s5 episode emotion). and suddenly the entire situation makes perfect sense to me

adrien, the impulsive airheaded curious whimsical OLDER twin, who's just. genuinely nice. félix's home life is TERRIBLE so of course he would latch onto someone like that. someone who goes out of his way to be kind to félix, and have shooting contests with him, and switch places with him just to prank their families and laugh about it afterwards. adrien was probably one of the only shining beacons of light, compassion and love that félix had other than his mother -

(which, side rant, that relationship is complicated by the fact that they both have the same abuser. canon doesn't outright say anything about amelie and colt i don't think but the way that amelie relies on félix and goes along with his plans reminds me a lot of the type of enmeshment that happens in mother-child relationships where both parties are victims. no offense amelie. plus just literally every single piece of information we have about colt fathom leads me to think he just sucks, so bad, generally. leaving adrien as one of the only... for lack of a better word, "pure" positive influences that félix might have had growing up) -

and thus of COURSE félix would deem it fit to become this conniving, cunning, mysterious person just to save adrien. félix went through hell because he's a senti so he doesnt want the same thing for his twin cousin. they're both constructs of the peacock miraculous. adrien is just like him, except too good for this world with how much he's willing to reach out and help lift others up. he's probably like, untainted in félix-vision. or like... félix's view is a bit warped even if his heart is in the right place.

so i guess what i mean is that adrien is like that trope of "he's so kind it makes him an idiot" and usually in narratives that type of character is "saved" by someone morally gray who idolizes and looks up to them... félix being the one in question. emphasis on looking up. because he's younger.

and. and. okay. also. okay. KAGAMI. RIGHT? here's the thing. emilie was the "heir", she's supposed to be the one who takes up the family mantle. but she didn't WANT IT. just like ADRIEN is supposed to be with kagami to uphold the family brand, but he doesn't WANT IT. HE WANTS TO GO LIVE THE BOHEMIAN LIFE WITH A TAILOR. it's félix who's actually suited to that role of being kagami's perfect trophy husband and who actually wants to be with her. JUST LIKE. AMELIE. IS. THE ONE WHO. (SCREAMS)

anyway considering all this no wonder félix thinks its okay to shield adrien from the truth. that's his perfect airhead older twin who was probably one of the only people who ever outstretched a hand to lift félix up. and félix probably decided that it's his turn to step up and be the shining beacon of light, compassion and love for adrien... he's just misguided about it because of his background. and so. (gestures vaguely). seasons 3-5 happened

also she has two moms??? or like. lila rossi's mom and the Second (Secret) Mom??? (who uses sign language!! neat! :3) and i dont think lila rossis mom knows about her REAL(????) mom (sign language mom) but sign language mom knows abt lila rossi mom which makes me slightly concerned that lila/cerise stole the identity of the REAL lila rossi like a decade ago and has been living as a lila rossi stand-in for the past 10 years after she buried the body idfk lol (joke theory. not an actual theory. but lets just say that the fact that this "lila killed someone and stole their identity" theory is semi-believable is already enough to show how bonkers season 5 was)

but yea she just disguises herself like Constantly and turns out lila rossi was just one of her evil spy personas. she also has an evil spy basement lair with like hacking equipment or sth. and she used Remote Spy Manipulation (an earpiece and strategic wording lmfao) to manipulate chloe into becoming the mayor of paris for like a week. chloe then proceeded to sicc robot cops on everyone's asses

also also after gabriel kicked the bucket and went to heaven together with emelie or whatever the fuck nooroo's miraculous was lost (it fell into the water at the bottom of gabriel's evil basement) but its revealed at the end of the finale that surprise surprise! cerise/lila/weirdospygirl has the brooch and will presumably be the big bad for the foreseeable future. IF she survives being possessed or some shit. idk she got attacked by a white light or sth and she was like "GASP D:" and then the season ended ¯\_(:/)_/¯ 

other fun things that happened this season:

adrinette ACTUALLY CANON (NO YEA FOR REAL) ok ok so basically. at the start of s5 marinette gets a crush on chat noir and adrien crushes on marinette instead of ladybug. eventually marinette allows herself to love adrien again and adrinette slowly get together like halfway thru s5 or sth. everyone ships it. and no. they do NOT know each others secret identities :')

luka knows the identities of both chat noir and ladybug as established in... season 4...? iirc? unfortunately halfway thru s5 gabriel figured out that luka knows so luka fled the country and went on a fun father-son-crocodile bonding trip (so like. with jagged stone, penny, and fang) to become tibetan monks. under the guidance of master fu's superior who we got introduced to last season (one of the monks who were like magically frozen in stone for 150 years or whatever)

tikki and plag biblically accurate angels confirmed. they can combine into ANOTHER biblically accurate angel called gimmi. gimmi granted gabriel his wish and now the world ended, gabriel is dead, etc etc adrinette lives happily ever after or sth

oh yea also felix kagami and adrien are sentimonsters. if you remember last year on twitter when thomas astruc swore up and down that senti!adrien theory was bullshit? yea so. he lied. he played a longcon. felix and kagami are in a relationship and both know that theyre sentis but adrien is like,,,, VERY HEAVILY FUCKING IMPLIED to also be a sentimonster except he doesnt know that yet. rip adrien. i think marinette knows abt kagami and felix being sentimonsters!??!?!?!??!? it was a VERY confusing scene like felix and kagami explained it to marinette thru interpretative dance T_T

OH YEA ALSO ladybug (fused w the cat miraculous. i forgot what name she gave herself) WAIT NO. BUGNOIR OR SOMETHING. ok so bugnoir fought hawk SHIT NO shadowmoth one-on-one and discovered he was gabriel and also saw his evil lair and emilie in the fridge coffin yanno. but yea adrien doesnt know. gabriel died and paris assumes he was the hero who defeated haw-SHADOWMOTH and adrien thinks so too. marinette is i think? the only one who knows gabriel was the big bad. aside from lila/cerise bc she knows everything with her stupid evil spy skills 🙄 oh yea lila also got a hold of all of gabriels secret files, including his photocopies of the grimoire

ON THAT NOTE gabriel was suuuppeerrr manipulatively nice to adrien this season and nathalie came SOOOOO SO SO SOOO CLOSE to throttling him on like at LEAST 5 occasions bc she cares for adrien more than she does for gabriel and she was SO gaslight gatekeep girlboss this season it was great like shes a few hours away from dying herself and she STILL tried to shoot gabriel with a crossbow lmao

Also about Dom and Dawn being same person, we havent seen Dom when big fight with Klipse happened, but we saw Dawn) and Dawn has mask simmilar to Hargrave's face and they share same voice actor.

And maybe, just maybe, if Dom and Dawn are twins if they're separate entites. Also, other fully his clones couldnt look other like him cause they dont have Klipse's parents dna mixed to create other looking child, but they're clones of one already made person. So if Klipse's clones before Six had only Klipse's dna, Dom doesnt count, so they would look exacly like Klipse. Even Six doesnt fully look like Klipse, it's bald Jeredy (also, when Chase first met Six, he said he saw him somewhere and had good familliar feeling about him, he probably recognised Jeredy in him). So, otherwise, maybe Dawn covers his face cause he has Klipse's face? Nor Eklipse or Core Tech would be happy to see it, I mean, he would be enemy to both or had more chance at it. But I still find a lot of coincidence towards Dom and Dawn. And Drezz...Like I said with Senti, Senti even got Fu Hua's memories, cause he got Fu Hua's body. So, what if same with Drezz? I think Drezz could be Klipse's mutation who was born in Klipse's exact same body, so even inherited his copyied memories including ones about young Jeredy and Klipse, as Drezz said.

Also, Dawn hasnt become Kimi's full time guard. He just was hired to accompany her from Hand of Destiny.

And Dom, he follows the trope that says that he isnt as simple character as they want us to think he is. Such characters later revealed to not just being crazy but actually they follow some plan and have connection with main character.

Well, many of Monsuno’s voice actors share characters. Dom, Drezz and Six share a voice actor and we already think they’re related, so Dawn and Hargrave having the same voice actor might just be a way to link them even if Dom and Dawn aren’t the same person/ separate entities and are just twin clones. I don’t know, Dr.Klipse himself shares a voice actor with Chase and Jeredy Suno, and that’s just Six’s family members.

Yet, Dawn having a mask resembling Hargrave? Well, that would mean that Hargrave had helped Dawn escape Klipse and Dawn still sees Hargrave as the more caring parental figure compared to Klipse. It’s a sad hypothesis since Dawn would’ve seen that Hargrave stayed with Klipse and had let the man attack him, but since he’s still wearing the mask, he might not hold much of a grudge against Hargrave.

Yet, for the clones before Six (sans Dom) to only look like Klipse since they only have his DNA? That may be the case since they’re clones of Klipse, but if Four/Drezz was the only mutated clone of Klipse since he was deemed a failure despite the fact he’s got the memories of Klipse, then did Drezz alter his looks to make sure he doesn’t look like Klipse anymore? Because Drezz’s look doesn’t look much like Klipse since he’s got light brown hair and Klipse is bald. It makes sense that Drezz would have done it out of fear for Klipse, but then he came back to Klipse so altering his face didn’t end much in the end because he’s back to the place that traumatized him. An altered face could only do so much until Klipse needs to understand Drezz’s medical needs and checks his DNA.

And for Dawnmaster to not do the same? That’s weird since Dawnmaster is a master thief, he could easily get some cash to do facial surgery if his face was that of Klipse and he wanted Chase and Core Tech to trust him. I get if Dawnmaster might be adverse to the idea of surgery if Klipse did experiment on him, but if Dawnmaster had the face of the man he hated, what exactly would be stopping Dawnmaster from getting surgery?

Still, having Dawnmaster as another potential enemy for Chase and Core Tech would just be slightly redundant since if you count the amount of enemies they already have, Chase and Core Tech’s enemies would outnumber their allies and I just want Chase to have at least more allies because they need it. Yes, STORM became their ally in season 3, but only after they saved their lives and even then that alliance is a bit more friendly rival than true alliance. Having Dawnmaster as an ally, with the powerhouse he is, was awesome for them to have. Still, Dawn and Dom do have a ton of similarities and coincidences.

Also, I just want Dawnmaster and Kimi to bond since it seems like he’s lonely and Kimi was alone when we first met her. Can I just have a happy found family/friendship for side characters that don’t get enough screen time?

As for Dom, he was never a simple character because he drove some of the episodes to a different theme from the starting theme, and his emotions weren’t simple and more expressive compared to others. He got a ton of build up in season 2 since he basically became part of the main Eklipse team, and could’ve brought some revenge scenes on Core Tech for their involvement in Dragonburn’s death in season 3… Except the writers didn’t do that and Dom didn’t even get a bunch of good scenes in season 3 despite being connected to Six and being the reason Six calls people mice. That’s just a waste of a good character.
