葉士豪 / Sense 30 創辦人 不一樣的人，不一樣的單車

有些熱枕是一輩子。葉士豪年輕時已經喜歡修理舊東西，父親給他的一台很舊很爛的 Kawasaki，讓小葉發現自己對古董車是不可自拔的喜愛。有人問他，喜歡老摩托車，為什麼不買現成的，他卻說:「自己做出來的，感覺還是不一樣」。

也許我們都會回到最初的喜愛。畢業後十年，小葉、Issa 和 Joe 各自在創意工業發展，最終相遇合作，在 30 歲的時候一起成立了 Sense 30。復古浪漫的紳士風格，令 Sense 30 在市場推陳出新、強調功能的車之中自成一格。然而，不是每個人都被 Sense 30 的美學感動。但面對一些人的輕蔑，他們更活出了自己。小葉笑說曾經有些人問他們是不是 cosplayer，但後來竟也覺得還蠻酷的，可以嘗試一下。人活到 30 歲，也許不再在乎眼光，追求自己喜歡的單車，不需要每個人都懂，一百種人，自然有一百部單車。

為甚麼會想到把這種風格帶到台灣？

這個風格我以前大學就在玩了，所以也不是真的是「帶進來」。玩車就是玩車，但我們會把自行車變成一種新的風格。比如說，世界各地都收集老爺車這個風氣。如果要把老爺車風格變成我們自行車的風格，就會連結到服裝風格等等。（然後，可能甚至是騎腳踏車去野餐，辦自行車的攝影展覽。）這和自行車本身作為運動工具是不一樣的，這是我自己做的轉換。

為甚麼會想到把這種風格加入到腳踏車設計？

這可能和我的���作有關係，我是做設計的，我的工作夥伴Issa也是做創意工作，所以我們常常會找一些元素，看他們可以變成甚麼。如果只是把東西做的更精緻，其實不會太好。要比較有趣的話，我們要製作一個新的型態。所以我們做很多試驗，做的時候也不知道最後會變成甚麼。就像我們的服裝，基本上我們想做很紳士風格的東西，所以便參考了英國和老歐洲的風格，看當時的人是怎樣騎腳踏車。很多人也許覺得這樣騎車很奇怪，覺得我們是 cosplayer 還是甚麼的。但慢慢地，大家發覺其實還蠻酷的，可以嘗試一下。

你在甚麼時候愛上這種風格？

高中時已經很喜歡，以前玩摩托車大家都只是是騎 scooter。但我覺得大家都一樣，看起來很無聊。剛好我爸給我一台很舊很爛的摩托車，我就想把車子整理一下，應該超酷的。剛開始時技術比較粗糙，花了大概3個月把摩托車弄好。我從小就喜歡把舊的東西回復到原本的樣子。有人說：「你喜歡老摩托車，買現成的就好了」。但感覺還是不一樣。自己做出來的，研究每一個細節過程，了解歷史背景，就慢慢會建立感情。比如我們剛開始推出 commuter 系列，我們想用 60 年代慣用的配色，像 Vespa 那種米白、粉藍的顏色。這種色調有一個故事性。不同年代有不同的顏色，所以某些色調自然地便會給人一種很復古的感覺，所以這不是我隨便選一個現在很流行的顏色。

有人覺得自行車只是一個代步工具，或者是用來運動就好，只需要顧及自行車的功能。你怎麼看？

其實我比較不喜歡運動。騎腳踏車，有人喜歡做運動，追求速度重量，認為自行車是一個講究力量的東西。我們覺得騎腳踏車是一樣浪漫的東西，我們想要把腳踏車當成一個作品，做出特別的東西。我覺得對很多人來說，感性的一面反而是最直接的。看到一個漂亮的東西，你會喜歡，然後才開始了解物件的功能。運動類的人可能會比較專門，會去研究腳踏車的輪子和牌子之類。我覺得這些東西對一般人來說是太遠了，反而沒有那麼直接。我們追求視覺直接感覺到的，例如，腳踏車的造型、騎車時的衣服、在甚麼地方騎車。這些都是比較直接的。

【Nowhere】鏡頭前率真 ; 鏡頭後調皮，空靈新銳的真實感受 True Wang 王真琳

王真琳10月30日生，台北人，曾參與miss ko、李聖傑的MV拍攝；王傳宗執導，張榕容主演《三個遜爸一個媽》。目前就讀於政治大學傳播研究所碩一，同時為廣告演員、平面影像Model、舞台劇演員、MV演員、電影演員等多重身份��

我們會說厲害的歌手，總能把別人的歌唱成自己的歌。真琳踏入平面Model不到一年，不管是乾淨簡練的歐陸時裝，或是幾何拼貼的俏皮混搭，到了她身上便有自成一格的溫度，影像故事油然而生。

██ Devours : 簡單談一下，妳第一次接觸拍攝工作的過程嗎？

Wang : 大學期間有幫實踐服裝設計系走服裝週，合拍作品集，到去年我把頭髮剪短，幫高中朋友詹旻諭拍古著形象BananaCats後，那一系列照片讓我在網拍圈的形象建立出空靈清新的氣質，也因為合作團隊From Pluto Studio和攝影師Puzzleman 在拍攝期間指導我的pose跟表情，對我之後拍照時肢體語言跟自信有很大的幫助。

██  D : 外表不提，不同的攝影師也不說，妳的作品總散發一種獨有氣質，是妳成長的環境或是家庭對妳有特殊啟發嗎？

W : 對於定義我自己「獨有的氣質」，我特別去問常拍我的攝影師， 我很愛的攝影師黃俊團說：「王真琳的氣在於感染力，不管在執行攝影師的動作或是自發性的表演，都有很強的感染力。就像是你笑的時候我就會笑，你哭的時候我就會哭，所以觀者應該也會有一樣的感受。」。 我目前作品呈現的氛圍多元，有搞怪、氣質、大自然系、知性的、輕鬆的，但一張作品後面的工作團隊包括髮妝師、造型師、攝影師、攝影助理、廠商、廣告商，都需要大家合作才能得到很棒的作品，所以那些氣質都是「打造」出來的，我個人獨特的氣質就給黃俊團定義「感染力」吧。我覺得我會有「感染力」是因為我拍照時，常常也是把它當作在「表演」，而不是純粹對鏡頭微笑或皺眉，我笑時一定會想著喜歡的人，難過時多半是想到分手。我對我的「笑容」很有自信，我媽媽對我的影響很大，她是很樂觀開朗的人，她和姊姊總是給我正面能量，我才能在照片上傳達很多愛的力量:D

██  D : 說到「表演」這部分，第一次與妳合作拍攝時便深深感受到。只要給妳一個詞彙，妳便能開起染坊，妳相當投入在一個妳自創的劇情裡面，對於拍攝工作是相當加分。拍攝過程中我們確實不需要沒有歡樂的笑和空洞無神的酷。

██  D : Satana、Tan Tan Studio、Sense30、北歐櫥窗、Starimi、milida，許多知名線上的品牌與你合作，能分享一些工作時的特別經驗？

W : 你提到的這些廠商都對我非常好，每個工作經驗我都很喜歡。工作時，攝影師給我自由發揮的空間越多，往往作品呈現出的效果也會非常好，工作結束後大家也會繼續保持聯絡，每次的工作經驗我都很珍惜。特別的經驗應該是拍sense30時，我很怕我把腳踏車摔壞，但還是要維持平衡擺出酷酷的表情，最後也只能站在腳踏車旁拍照，所以以後接工作時，要注意自己的能耐～

██  D : 身為模特兒、演員，工作時最怕遇到什麼狀況？

W : 最怕遇到尺度的問題，如果事前有溝通好，我會有心理準備，但如果是到拍攝現場，廠商希望只貼胸貼或是只穿底褲，我內心會有點抗拒或是感覺不受尊重。跟男模之間，肢體上的接觸雙方也需要事前溝通，否則作品出來男模的女友會生氣（汗）。

██  D : 請說出妳出門一定會帶的三樣物品。

W : 手機、錢包、鑰匙。 化妝品的話、口紅、防曬。

██  D : 模特兒工作滿檔又必須念研究所，放假時最想做什麼？

W : 旅行 陪家人 躺在床上看電影看書 游泳。

██  D : 請用最簡單的方式形容自己？

W : 不拘小節。

  ██ D : 最喜歡吃的食物？

W : 我愛每個人在自家廚房做的「家常菜」，最愛媽媽煮的菜了～也很喜歡去朋友家���擾，吃阿姨或叔叔們充滿愛心的私房菜。甜點偏愛日式茶點，抹茶紅豆湯圓。

██ D : 2014年即將結束，什麼是妳今年最想完成的事情？

W : 工作方面，當模特兒已經一年了，想把之前的作品整理好。 動態方面，希望聲音表演和表情上可以進步。 學業方面，希望可以all pass～

██ D : 2015年，妳期待跟什麼品牌合作？

W : 美髮品牌吧，因為我很注重髮質，希望可以把頭髮拍得美美的。

██ D : 演員、模特兒不能當一輩子，有想過發展自有品牌或是從事其他工作？

W : 其實我是很希望我能做一輩子的演員跟模特兒（笑）。 自有品牌現階段我��未想過，因為研究所讀的和廣告方面相關，應該會往廣告業發展喔～

Taiwan. In many respects bicycle capital of the world, but it’s huge (or Giant…) factories and high-volume that leap to mind, not specialist bike boutiques and handcrafted goods of the kind we obsess over.

A good thing, then, that when one of the better-travelled members of our little Primal collective (one soon to embark on a short cycle ride from Scotland to Melbourne) spent some time in Taipei, he hunted out possibly one of our favourite bicycle stores in, literally, the world.

Sense30's store near Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall is pretty much the only one in the area catering to the vintage cycle aesthetic. They stock clothing, components and frames – 80% designed and sourced locally from Taiwan but shelves are also filled by the likes of Levi's and Brooks, plus Dutch luggage-types Fastrider and off-topic bits like Lomography cameras.

The brand’s three founders, Issa Chen, Sihow Yah and Joe Fang, bring skills from the design and fashion world. We were told they used to ride Vespas but decided they liked the style of bicycles better – and Sense30 was born, initially by restoring secondhand frames and later commissioning their own unique products.

The shop still retains a workshop for bicycle preparation and repair and Sense30’s principle remains to build affordable bikes so ‘everyone can get into the vintage style’. That said, while we were there, a gold-leaf Colnago was in to be built up bejewelled with period Campagnolo parts, so they’re not shy with the high-end stuff.

So it’s not just your mass-produced commuter rides that carry the ‘Made in Taiwan’ stamp – and we’re pretty pleased for it. Take a scroll through the pics for a little shop floor tour, or visit Sense30 for more info.

單車尾燈界的辣妹

趁著好天氣的週末，騎著U-bike 閑晃臺北公館附近。在Sense30 二店"叁拾選物" 裡看見了這個的腳踏車尾燈。腳踏車尾燈對我來說，如同文具迷買筆記本，明明家裡已經有了，每回遇見好看的便又想入手。這枚小燈稱得上是單車尾燈界的辣妹，設計特別出眾。實心的金屬外殼有兩金、銀兩色可選，除了方便快拆的膠圈，找不到任何多餘的設計。最厲害的是它的開關，就隱藏為那紅色的燈殼，按下燈殼能切換閃爍和恆亮兩種模式，堪稱外形與機能兼備。聽頭家Issa 說，這燈是Sense30 最狂賣的商品。

體積小加上金屬冷冽質感，不但不會破壞畫面，除了腳踏車之外，我可以想到這燈在日常生活中的應用還真不少。像是家裡長輩喜歡早起運動，清晨視線不佳時，固定在背包或拐杖上也很方便。把它加在拐杖傘的木把上，當場一傘變三用吶！

From Sean's Monday Point of View

Life in Taipei is quite comfortable, even on a Monday morning. Maybe it's because it wasn't raining, cloudy, humid, or earthquaking. So, sky was blue and sun was beaming, ended up waking at 6:50AM in the morning for no apparent reason... probably my mind was just like: f*ck it, boring dream, wake up!  So the usual routine ensued at such an ungodly hour ( in Sean's time zone). Turned on the TV which is playing CNN, switched on the AC to get the air moving a bit, and washed up in the bathroom. 

The great thing about Taipei is that it's transforming itself into a chillax metropolitan city, a far-cry from the never ending drama filled cities like Manhattan and Shanghai. Strolling out into the park infront of my complex, there were birds flying, old ladies doing tai chi, and some drunk guy sleeping on the park bench... ah! what a fine morning!  

Lately, Taipei City Government and Giant has massively expanded and extended their YouBike service, which is basically a free bike renting service (first 30 mins free!), and there are rental stations dotted all over the city. The past few weeks have seen a surge in the iconic kiosks, orange bicycles, and rows and rows of bicycles lining the streets from their stations. Anyways, I rented the Youbike from a station right around my area, and pedaled all the way to Howard Hotel ( approx. a 5+ mile ride) to meet up with an old friend and grab a bag of Lia's Granola. I have to say: it is amazing. Of course, the fact that its healthy makes it that much better! For all those who don't know me, I snack way too much... 

For those American expats who crave granola, this is your answer. 

So, with Me being Sean, I uncontrollably ate the whole bag in less than 3 hours ( yes, I am a fatass). Now I have to order more, because it's all made to order... which is why it tastes so amazing. Weekend was pretty eventful: went to the Levi's Commuter Jeans x Sense30 collaboration event! 

Sense30 is a Taiwan hand-made bicycle brand, you can see their site at: Sense30 Website

They make extraordinary beautiful bicycles (mainly fixed gear bikes / fixies), and the bikes just like the work shop (where the bicycle is literally welded together infront of you!) look like something from a 1930's European setting, with the dim lighting, old wood furniture, and staff in aprons and caps. So for any bicycle enthusiast that is living, working, or visiting Taipei... go take a look!
