Summer weather makes me think of my succulents and cacti. For me, when the weather starts to warm I love to clean and prep my succulents so they can grow beautifully again. Happy #succulentsaturday! 🌿😍😇👍🏼The caccoon plant post got tremendous love from you guys last week and also some questions on care, so I decided to make another post on it to discuss them 😊 . They love light, the fuzzy cover of the leaves are used to deflect strong sunlight, so being indoor I have to put this plant under my grow light sections most of the year, otherwise it will start to stretch and have leave drops. Watering wise I treat it the same as all my succulents, I water them every 7-10 days in summer and 10-12 days in winter months. Some older leaves drying and dropping is normal, but if it happens more often then you might want to consider watering a bit more or repotting. This is actually my second one, I had a Dwarf form of S. haworthii from ebay before and it lived for 1.5 years before stem rot problems killed it unfortunately. Senecio haworthii (cocoon plant) - I just wanted to see how it grows. Looks like an inflating plush balloon. I forgot how many days this took but you can count the cycles of light and dark (12 hours each). - FAQ: how do I take care of this plant? Honestly, a plant under a grow light (or the right natural light) practically takes care of itself. After light conditions are adequate, since this is a succulent, the watering strategy is to water only after prolonged soil dryness - I even wait until the leaves are just a bit less firm before watering.
