Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3
Tumblr media
There had been a new intake of prisoners.
As was expected of you, you took your seat with the rest of the Galra commanders. The sea of cheering people was overwhelming. Myzax was in the ring again.
The arena was not entertaining to you. There was no fight here, this was a public execution. The gladiators were Salixan wolves playing with their prey before going in for the kill. Disgusting.
Prisoners deemed fit enough to fight were bought here. Luckily, most of the new intake had arrived injured and were declared unfit to fight. You thanked the universe for even the smallest of mercies.
Behind the gates, there were a dozen different creatures of varying species. An Earthling stood at the front of the line, quivering and dressed in an oversized prisoner’s tunic. He was short, scrawny and - by the fear in his eyes - didn’t have the strength to fight.
Perhaps, you thought, by some miracle, this boy would somehow manage to scrape by with only a severe injury. Perhaps you could leave, tell your fellow commanders that the prisoners are too weak for a proper fight and it bores you. That way, you might not have to watch.
A sentry walked down to the gate, rifle pointed squarely at the Earthling boy. In a flash, another Earthling appeared, pulling the rifle from the sentry’s grip and pushing the droid into the wall. It sparked and slumped over, showing the Earthling’s strength.
You watched intently as the audience roared.
The man was tall, broad-shouldered and muscular enough to put up a fight. His back was turned to you, but his body language showed no hint of fear. With the bayonet he held, the man turned to his fellow prisoners and took a slash at the weak one.
Over the cheering and yelling of the area’s audience, you couldn’t hear a word of what he yelled, but another sentry arrived and forcefully took the Earthling by his arm. You averted your eyes momentarily as the gates opened.
There was clearly some relation between the Earthlings, and in a bid to save the boy who couldn’t fight, this man had put himself first in line to face Myzax. It was smart, you had to admit, but watching someone sacrifice themself somehow made it worse than just watching them die.
Myzax roared and the spectators cheered as the Earthling was handed a Galran sword. And the fight began at once.
The large gladiator let the energy orb on the end of his bat charge for a moment before hurling the orb at the Earthling. Barely dodging, the man tripped himself over to get away. Unrelenting, Myzax threw the orb again. In a desperate attempt to dodge, the man rolled over and jumped at the Galra, landing a shallow cut on his arm before retreating from the orb once more.
And the game of Salixan wolf and rodent began.
For a while, the Earthling only dodged, ducking behind the pillars of the arena, seemingly formulating something. The energy orb was thrown again, this time the man used his sword's flat edge as a shield. He was knocked back significantly, but didn’t fall. Once again, Myzax threw the orb. The man knelt down, raising his sword to cover himself as the impact pushed him into the dusty floor.
Myzax raised his bat, the orb flying back to recharge. As the mechanical wiring hummed deep under the loud yelling of the Galran audience, the Earthling lunged to take a swing at the gladiator. A large gash cut across the gladiator’s shoulder, slicing through his neck.
The Galra wobbled on his feet, purple-red blood spilling down his chest. Weakly, Myzax lifted the orb on its plinth and hurled it at where the Earthling had drawn back to.
Panicked upon seeing the energy orb once more, the man rolled away from the incoming projectile. One hit on the ground. The gladiator swung his arm around as much as his injury would allow, the orb flying back over to the Earthling. Narrowly dodged again, he was taking advantage of Myzax’s weakened state. Twice now, and the orb drew back for the final attack. The man raised his sword again.
A third hit. The metal sword shattered, and the orb flew back to Myzax. Before the hum of the recharge could even start, the Earthling jumped and plunged the blunted half of the snapped sword through the gladiator’s chest. With a loud roar, Myzax fell to his knees. The undefeated, killed by an Earthling - of all species.
The spectators cheered more, louder still, and the man standing in the centre of the arena let out a scream of victory. He played to the crowd well.
Without thinking for a moment more, you slammed your fist into the arm of your chair and rose.
“Who’s is he?” your voice sounded over everyone, quiet falling throughout the room.
You stood in silence for a moment, looking across the Galra commanders.
“The Earthling would be mine,” a commander a few rows down announced as he stood.
“I want him. Name your price,” you stated, voice loud and confident. If you could get a hold of this Earthling, you might just be able to do a little good in this universe.
“4000 GAC,” the commander you didn’t know requested.
“Done.” you said, definitively.
“I offer 5000!” A voice called a few chairs to your right. Commander Sendak.
“This is no auction,” you chastised.
“I will not stand down!” he called, turning towards to owner of the Earthling.
“Sendak! You and I both know that I can outbid you.” you reminded him, keeping yout voice level and confident. As a decorated warrior from a long line of commanders, you had the power of currency on your side.
Sandak huffed and stopped for a moment before turning to look up at the Emperor.
“Permission to exercise my Galra rights, my Emperor?” he asked, bowing slightly.
You lowered your head in respect and looked back up to see Zarkon nod.
“I challenge you to a Sar duel for ownership of the Earthling fighter!” Sendak called, as soon as he received Zarkon’s permission.
“Come now, we are in an arena, and the people want a fight,” he taunted as he saw the torn expression on your face.
“I accept.” you said, determined. You may not want to fight, but you couldn’t risk leaving the Earthling with anyone else.
“What are your terms?” the unknown commander asked.
“If I win, I get the Earthling and Commander Sendak shall be sent off to the Javeeno Star System with no crew, for reconnaissance and surveillance.” you called, the crowd surrounding you applauded your decision, “And you?”
“If I win, I take the prisoner. And you, Commander (l/n), will be stripped of rank and sent to Noxxal to die a dishonourable death!” Sendak shouted.
The room went quiet with murmurs. Noxxal… you would die from starvation, if the cold didn’t get to you first. A dishonourable death, to not be killed in battle.
“And the loser pays 5000 GAC for the victor?” you clarified, looking to the Earthling’s finder.
“Agreed.”
“Agreed.”
“The terms are set. Let us begin,” you announced. Both Sendak and you descended to the arena floor.
“Hold the Earthling!” Sendak commanded, and two sentries stood at either side of the man, leading him back out through the arena gate.
Sendak took gauntlets, his weapon of choice. They were great meatal things that pulsed with Galran energy. This was the only advantage he had over you.
You chose to take a battleaxe. Versatile and deadly, you knew them well.
“Vrepit sa.”
“Vrepit sa…”
You immediately took first swing at Sendak, purposefully overshooting and missing him. The swing went past his ear, and took him off guard, leading him to turn in an attempt to throw a punch at your gut. In his moment of pivot, you took the haft of your axe directly to his face.
He stumbled backwards, nose dripping with blood. You swung again, leaving him no time for recovery, a jab at his chest that he narrowly avoided. And again, quickly, but he had recovered in time and grabbed your axe’s blade with his gauntlets.
He threw your axe to his side, and you barely kept your grip. This was how the fight continued. You would hit a blow, he would recover, and Sendak would send you backwards.
A slash to his knee, a hit to your stomach, a jab that very nearly took his ear off, a punch square to your nose - revenge for that first hit you got on him. Finally, after 10 minutes of equally balanced fighting, you decided to play dirty. This Earthling was worth the life of the idiot known as Sendak.
You backed up slowly, reaching a pillar, then swung and lodged your axe at an angle in the stone. You threw yourself at Sendak, going for the gauntlets. You sent a jab at his neck, causing him to lose his breath enough for you to kick with all your might at his left gauntlet. With a crackle of power, the purple glow dissipated and the glove stopped responding.
Sendak growled at you and shook the gauntlet off his hand, immediately lunging at you. You dodged, but not enough, as he grabbed you by the arm, spun you, and hooked his arm around your neck. Gauntlet to your throat, he held you there, spluttering for a breath that wouldn’t come. Your body burned with adrenaline and you stomped at his feet under you, kicking back at his shins.
Sendak walked backwards slowly to avoid your kicks until his back was pressed up against a pillar. Perfect.
With the last of your oxygenated strength, you reached out for the axe that was lodged in the stone. In one quick pull, the axe swung at Sendak’s arm and your face. At the last moment, you shifted your head to the side, lodging the axe entirely through Sendak’s arm.
His grip fell limp, and you took a great inhale of air.
The crowd roared in cheer, and Sendak made a barely audible noise - like a whimper - that only you could hear.
“Consider that payment for challenging me.” You spoke lowly in his ear, before turning to leave.
Where was that Earthling?

I found this Reddit thread, the other day, and got a good chuckle out of this particular response:
Tumblr media
And, while Shiro having this sort of raw, incontestable, and unmatched power makes him a True Underappreciated Icon, it also stands as the loudest, most glaring testament to the Voltron: Legendary Defender showrunners not knowing what they were doing.
Basic Writing 101 would suggest that, if you intend to kill an important character off, you don't not only open your series on them, but continue to spotlight them as completely intrinsic to, and inextricable from your still ongoing narrative.
Obi-Wan Kenobi's death impacts Luke Skywalker, but doesn't cause the entire story of the original Star Wars trilogy to fall apart.
When Gandalf appears to die in The Fellowship of the Ring, his absence is felt, and impossible to ignore, but the journey of the other main characters continues, nevertheless, and his revival in The Two Towers only aids the narrative's progression, rather than derailing it.
This is due both to Obi-Wan Kenobi and Gandalf not being the central characters of these stories, and George Lucas and J.R.R. Tolkien knowing exactly what stories they intended to tell. And, not just competently tell them, but tell them in ways that have touched and continue to inspire generations of storytellers and story-enjoyers, alike.
The crew behind Voltron: Legendary Defender, however, seemed to have no idea what story they were trying to tell, to begin with, let alone how to tell it.
On its surface, this is a mecha cartoon series about four teenagers and one adult from Earth who find themselves jetted into space to, under the guidance of an alien princess and her quirky advisor, pilot giant robot lions that combine into an even bigger humanoid robot, and fight to free the universe from the tyranny of an evil alien empire. It's packaged as an ensemble show, in the vein of Teen Titans, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Power Rangers, Justice League, most X-Men cartoon series, and so on. Thus, it can be presumed that no one character on the team is more important than any of the others.
While an attempt is, indeed, made to give each of the seven members of Team Voltron their own internal and external conflicts and days in the sun (with the exception of poor Coran, who exists primarily for comic relief, and viewers are scarcely given insight into anything beyond his quirky anecdotes, eccentric mannerisms, and fear of losing Allura), Shiro is overwhelmingly given the most emotional pathos and narrative significance.
The series opens on his abduction and imprisonment.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
His escape from Zarkon's ship and recapture by the Galaxy Garrison is the impetus that launches the plot, and brings the five pilots of Voltron together.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He's specifically singled out as the de facto leader of Voltron, and given the most significant role of Paladin of its largest lion, and decisive head.
Tumblr media
He has personal ties to all three of the major villains of the first two seasons as a direct victim of their cruelty, and as the series continues, this remains a trait exclusive to Shiro, and Shiro alone.
Sendak is Shiro's personal tormentor, something implied as early as the pilot,
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and that continues to be emphasized in Sendak's subsequent appearances.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Haggar was responsible for the experiments conducted on Shiro that lead to the amputation of his right arm and its replacement with a weapon, and feels a sense of entitlement to Shiro's body.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was Zarkon's ship that Shiro was held prisoner on after losing his crew, Zarkon was the previous Black Paladin, and Zarkon's persisting connection to the Black Lion is a conflict that Shiro ultimately elects to resolve on his own, even if it means a hand-to-hand fight to the death.
Tumblr media
There are several episodes (Across The Universe, Space Mall) where the younger Paladins, Allura, and Coran are engaged in comedic shenanigans while Shiro is fighting for his life in explicitly high stakes situations.
Shiro's leadership, compassion, selflessness, and heroism are illustrated over and over again for Shiro's sake, and to it drive home for the audience just how incontrovertibly vital he is in the fight to overthrow Zarkon, and restore peace and liberty to the universe.
Tumblr media
"Why are you helping me?"
Tumblr media
"As a fighter, and a leader, you give hope."
Instead of writing Shiro as one component of a larger story, making his removal from it possible in the right hands, he was written as the heart of that story. Which rendered excising him from it an exercise in futility, as he is integral to every poignant narrative beat. I.E., his bond with Pidge/Katie being one of the major reasons she chooses to stay with the team instead of venturing out on her own to look for her father and brother.
Shiro is, in essence, Voltron: Legendary Defender's equivalent of Leonardo from the 2003 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series--The emotionally beleaguered, self-sacrificing and scarred (as of the end of the third season and entirety of the fourth, in Leonardo's case) leader, who is by far, the most skilled and experienced fighter, and spiritually advanced member of the team.
Leonardo, too, had personal connections to several of his series's most powerful and imposing recurring villains, with two of them (Karai and the Daimyo's son) hellbent on destroying him, specifically.
There are instances (The Shredder Strikes Back Part 1, and the episodes covering the Battle Nexus Tournament) where Leonardo faces higher stakes in juxtaposition to his brothers' lighter-hearted, more comedic exploits, and he underwent the most intensive character arc; battling feelings of anger, guilt, self-loathing, and PTSD before finally achieving inner piece and returning to his family as a more mature, composed, and even greater leader than he was, before.
What the staff behind Voltron: Legendary Defender effectively did is kill their show's Leonardo and replace him with Raphael (Keith). Then, aggressively backtrack on that decision by bringing in a clone of Leonardo who much, much (roughly four seasons) later turns out to have been an infiltrator created by a character with direct relation (Karai/Haggar) to the Turtles and Splinter's greatest enemy (Shredder/Zarkon) brainwashed to attempt to kill the real Leonardo's loved ones. Only for the clone to be taken out of commission during an emotionally-charged confrontation with Raphael, after which his consciousness is overwritten as the Real Leonardo's lifeforce is magically transferred into his body... Just so the newly resurrected and sorely missed Real Leonardo can mostly stand silently around, be disrespected, and do nothing of significance for the rest of the show.
Anyone with any knowledge of the Ninja Turtles franchise, this particular iteration of it, decent storytelling, or even a lick of common sense would tell you that this move is ill-advised, at best, and a terrible idea destined to crash and burn, at worst. But, these showrunners were, evidently, oblivious to their own poor decision-making and ineptitude, and chose to rip out the stitch that held their messily woven tapestry together, causing it to irreparably unravel right in front of their and their audience's eyes.
And, blaming Shiro for that blind incompetence is exactly like blaming that deliberately torn stitch.

Some fun AU ideas for Adashi
- Adam is half Galra/human but remained unaware
-Adam is half Altean/human
-Adam half Altean/Galra
-Adam was sent to earth to be a spy however he was extremely young and does not recall his mission at all
-Adam was captured; Shiro gets recaptured and thrown into the Gladiator ring again, they have to fight. Adam doesn't remember Shiro
-Shiro and all Paladins get to Earth the day the Galra invade. Shiro ends up saving Adam before Adam can unalive and Shiro is p i s s e d they went after Earth, especially Adam
-Adam and Lance get captured at different times/places resulting in Keith and Shiro to go after them, only they have to make a choice who lives: Adam or Lance (bonus for Adashi/Klance parallels)
-Matt teasing his friends Adam and Shiro constantly being a little terror to them
-more Adam, Shiro, and Matt being the og Garrison trio
-Krolia meeting a young Adam while she's with Keith's dad and Keith's dad being a mentor/role model to Shiro
-Matt, Shiro, and Adam discover Voltron earlier and are the paladins
-Adam meets Zarkon, Lotor, and/or Sendak and goes ferral on them for hurting shiro, Keith, and the other paladins
-They never broke up when Shiro went to space making
-Adam went on Kerberos replacing Matt, Sam, or Shiro
-Adam gets captured but is released as if a hostage, he was brainwashed/had a chip put in him
-Shiro vs. Kuron and Kuron brings Adam up to emotionally hurt Shiro (lowkey pisses Keith off bc no disrespects his brothers like that)
-Shiro and Adam reunite but are stiff thinking the other has moved on. They're only around each other when necessary unaware that they're also spending longer times together again - /and of course I still want him, but I can't when he's clearly moved on/ (cue Matt and Keith pulling a parent trap)
-rebel leader Adam whether it be on earth or a different planet
-Adam helps make Shiro a new hand
-trouble makers Adam, Matt, and Shiro (i.e. Matt and Shiro causing chaos while Adam tries to get them to chill)
- teenage Adam wanting to impress Shiro so he does something stupid that could actually result in explosion from the Garrison
-Shiro and Adam having relationships with the other Paladins before Kerberos (Pidge especially)
-Adam making Shiro blush easily
(Shiro: you know what you're doing
Adam: what are you talking about. [Actually knows what he's doing])
-Shiro and Adam loving to observe each other from afar from when they're cadets all the way to when Shiro leaves for Kerberos
-Adam is secretly an heir to a great fortune, but he had cut ties with his family and didn't get it til his grandparents passed away (Adam is not the only living relative just a sole inheriter)
-Adam sees Kuron and Shiro fighting and is the meme of "hey what's x + x kuron: correct answer Adam: shoots him Paladins: that was the right answer Adam: yes, but Takashi always does this (cut to Shiro and Keith doing the same fucking movement)
- Adam giving Shiro a silent treatment for dying in space
-Adam thanks Haggar for curing Shiro before unaliving her
-nervous cadet crushes bc they're 50/50 if the other will say yes if asked on a date. Someone makes a remark on the other making Adam or Shiro punch someone. The fight is broken by the time the one who wasn't present gets there (or maybe they're pulling their crush off) and don't get the full story until the one who wasn't fighting is helping patch up the one who was
-they're roommates as cadets
-Adam or Shiro is roommates with Matt while the other has a single room (cue Matt doing his best in getting the two idiots together)
-young Keith unaware that Adam and Shiro are dating so he tries to get them together (he enlists Matt's help)

Hope you're having a good day/night
I was wondering if I could request Allura x Big Brother Reader x Kolivan
Allura having an older brother who risk his life to make sure she was safe and ended up being a prisoner of Zarkon (just a lil background idea)
He eventually meets back up with his sister but ends up falling in love with Kolivan
How will Allura feel about reuniting with her Big brother and him falling in love with a galra?
How does Kolivan feel/think when he starts having feelings for the prince of Altea?
I am, thank you 😊
I tried my best and I hope this was kind of what you were hoping for. I was supposed to have this finished in March, so I apologize for the long delay 😅
_________________________________________
Shortly before Altea got destroyed (Y/n) risked his life to save his younger sister's life, unfortunately it led to him getting captured by Zarkon which led to him being put in a stasis pod so that he couldn't escape. No one knew what happened to the prince of Altea and that mystery went on for the next ten-thousand years; his disappearance became a legend that many would pass down to their children, and after the Blades joined the fight against Zarkon with the new paladins Kolivan told Allura about the legend of her lost older brother. All Allura remembered was (Y/n) pushing her out of the way before Sendak could kill her, after that she didn't know what happened to him. She and Coran believed that (Y/n) perished on Altea and a funeral service was held for him at some point, little did she know that her brother was still alive. For the next few months everyone still believed (Y/n) had been killed until one day when an anonymous message was sent to the castle of lions; no one knew who sent the message, although they took Voltron to the rendezvous point and found a mysterious stasis pod with someone very unexpected in it.
The paladins all agreed to take the pod back to the castle with them so they could save whomever was trapped inside, and when they eventually opened the pod they all gasped. They all expected to see Shiro, but instead they saw an unfamiliar altean man; Allura and Coran recognized the man because he was none other than (Y/n), Allura's missing older brother. It should have been impossible, (Y/n) was said to be dead, and yet he was laying right there in the stasis pod that laid in the center of the infirmary. (Y/n) didn't know what happened until his vision adjusted and he breathed in some fresh air for the first time in ten thousand years, the next thing he registered was someone hugging him tightly after he sat up. Allura could hardly believe that her brother was alive and well, she couldn't prevent herself from crying when she hugged him tightly. Hunk briefly excused himself so he could whip up a snack for (Y/n) who would undoubtedly be hungry, it was the least he could do for the long lost prince.
“Allura, you're squeezing me!” (Y/n) wheezed hoarsely; he was happy to see his sister again after so long, although he wasn't expecting her to have gotten so strong.
“I can't help it, I've missed you. I was so scared when you disappeared and when Kolivan told me about your legend I truly thought you were dead.” Allura replied happily, her voice wavering as she spoke and loosened her grip on her only sibling.
“Legend? What legend? And who are these people?” (Y/n) questioned curiously despite his throat feeling dry, wondering who all the other people in the room were other than his sister and Coran.
Coran gave (Y/n) a hydration pack and cleared his throat before filling him in about what happened after his disappearance so many years prior. (Y/n) could hardly believe that Zarkon was capable of such horrible things and that Altea had been destroyed; he panicked a little when Allura told him how much time passed since his disappearance, but then she told him their father stuck her and Coran in two of the healing pods until the new paladins found them. Hearing about how the new paladins were making things right in the universe gave (Y/n) hope that everything would be okay, and after he ate and drank he got to meet four out of the five paladins. It wasn't long before he got to meet Keith, but unbeknownst to everyone else Kolivan had made an unexpected visit because he had some new information regarding a top secret galra base he needed to give to Pidge. Kolivan was very surprised to see a young altean man in the infirmary, although what surprised him even more was that the young man was none other than prince (Y/n).
“Keith, you didn't tell us that Kolivan would be stopping by.” Allura said with a surprised tone when Keith and Kolivan walked into the infirmary.
“I have some new information on a secret empire base that I wanted to give to the green paladin. Who is this?” Kolivan answered before he turned his attention towards (Y/n); he couldn't deny that the young altean man was attractive and as soon as their eyes met he felt a warm throbbing sensation in his chest.
“This is my older brother, (Y/n). He's been kept a prisoner by Zarkon all these deca-phoebs until someone sent us coordinates and we found his stasis pod.” Allura replied, giving the leader of the Blades a brief explanation as to how (Y/n) had been recovered.
Kolivan could hardly believe that (Y/n) was alive and that the legend of him he grew up with was false, and yet there he was, sitting up in the stasis pod he'd been kept in since the fall of Altea. (Y/n) felt tingly as soon as he made direct eye contact with Kolivan; he was still processing how much the universe changed and he assumed he was just low on oxygen or something, he didn't realize that he'd just met someone very important in his life. He blushed and stuttered a little when he greeted Kolivan, feeling embarrassed for his sudden inability to speak clearly as he attempted to start a conversation with the older man. Waking up only to be reunited with his younger sister, meeting the new paladins and learning that she had become a paladin was a lot for (Y/n) to take in, then he met one of the most attractive men he'd ever seen; adjusting to life would either be difficult or easy, although at the moment he wasn't sure which it would be. Lance was the only person in the room who noticed a romantic spark between Kolivan and (Y/n), but he decided not to tease them about it until the future, depending if they ever got together or not.
__________
Despite being held prisoner by Zarkon since the fall of Altea (Y/n) managed to adjust to being a part of life again; he had a difficult time getting used to all of the new technology, thankfully he got along with the paladins relatively well. Allura loved having her older brother back and sometimes she could get a little clingy with him, not that he minded since he loved his younger sister and he felt bad that he hadn't been there for her after the new paladins found her and Coran. Working alongside the Blade of Marmora was interesting as well, and after (Y/n) went out on a few missions with Kolivan they began to fall in love with each other. (Y/n) didn't have a problem with falling in love with the Marmoran leader; Kolivan might have appeared stoic, although behind all of the walls he'd built up over the years Kolivan had a kind soul. He spent as much time with the older galran man as he could and Kolivan seemed eager to be around him as well.
Kolivan was intrigued by (Y/n) and at first their relationship was purely platonic, although as more time passed and they spent more time together they developed a strong bond that slowly turned into love. When he realized that he had feelings for the altean prince he nearly panicked because he wasn't used to having feelings for anyone, nevertheless Kolivan gave in and accepted that he wanted to have (Y/n) as his lover. While they were away on one mission in particular Kolivan formally asked (Y/n) if he could court him and to his relief (Y/n) said yes, then he gave him a bottle of rare cologne as a first courtship gift. The young altean man was over the moon with happiness when Kolivan reciprocated his feelings, although at some point he would need to tell Allura that he and Kolivan were a couple. A month or so passed since he began courting him, and one afternoon (Y/n) and Kolivan decided to tell Allura; they would do it in the library where no one would disturb them, but Allura could tell that something was going on between the two of them.
“Is there something important you both needed to tell me?” Allura asked Kolivan and (Y/n) with concern when she sat at the small table with her brother and the leader of the Blades; by that point she'd learned to trust the Blades, although she was still a little wary around them.
“You could say that.” Kolivan answered gruffly, which was his way of dealing with the anxiousness he felt since he and (Y/n) were about to tell her that they were in a romantic relationship.
“Oh?” Allura queried, tilting her head slightly to the right in confusion.
Kolivan looked at (Y/n) and (Y/n) looked at him, both of them feeling nervous to tell Allura that they were together. Even though Altea no longer existed (Y/n) was still considered a prince, and as such he had certain obligations he had to hold up. Allura looked at her brother and Kolivan, wondering what they were keeping from her. Finally, (Y/n) decided to break the news to her.
“Allura, recently there's someone who's caught my attention and-” (Y/n) began to tell Allura before she cut him off, although he wasn't upset with her because she seemed excited for him.
“You're in love? That's wonderful! I'm so happy for you, (Y/n). Tell me, who is this person you've fallen in love with?” Allura interrupted her older brother when he began to tell her that he was in love with someone; she wasn't really interested in pursuing a romantic relationship yet, but she was excited for her (Y/n).
“W-well, that's the thing… I haven't fallen in love with anyone of royal descent, and we're already in a relationship. Allura, I love you and I hope you truly love me; I'm in a relationship with Kolivan.” (Y/n) answered after he took a deep breath, hoping that his younger sister wouldn't freak out.
“You- and Kolivan? (Y/n), are- are you sure that you love him? And that he actually loves you?” Allura questioned with disbelief, her eyes widening; she only wanted her brother to be happy, and she wasn't sure if he and Kolivan were a good match given their differences.
Before (Y/n) could say anything else Kolivan stepped in and defended his relationship with (Y/n); he understood that altean royalty had a lot of standards when it came to selecting a significant other and he wasn't royalty, but he and (Y/n) loved each other very much and he wanted Allura to know that he would take good care of (Y/n). Allura was surprised, and even though she was still skeptical she decided to let it go and allow them to continue being together because after what Kolivan told her she was in awe. She'd never met anyone so dedicated to being in a relationship before; it was very touching, and she didn't want to ruin the love (Y/n) and Kolivan felt for each other. (Y/n) was surprised that Allura accepted his relationship with Kolivan, albeit hesitantly; not because they were both men, but because Kolivan wasn't royalty. Until the universe was safe Kolivan and (Y/n) agreed to keep their relationship a secret from everyone else, then someday when the universe was safe they would be able to go public with it and eventually have a wedding ceremony.

kidge headcanon 22:
I feel like at Shiro's wedding, Pidge got invited to dance with a few guys, including Lance, Shiro, Hunk, and Matt. But they aren't the important part of this. So many guys came up to her and asked her to dance. Keith, who was sat at the same table as her, felt anger simmering within him whenever a guy would approach her. Pidge turned down the random guys, which eased Keith's irritation a little.
Of course, Keith didn't mind when it was one of their friends asking her to dance, and he would simply feel a touch of jealousy. He wouldn't dare ask her himself. Well, he considered himself a bad dancer, or at least that's what he thought.
But then, something happened. James Griffin approached their table to ask Pidge to dance. Keith's blood froze as he knew that Pidge had grown closer to the MFE pilots during her time at the Garrison. He had observed the way James had been flirting with her in the past few months, and it hurt him deeply.
At that moment, his fear became a reality: Pidge agreed to dance with James. Keith watched them walk away, his heart sinking, and he took a final sip of his drink before exiting the room. He couldn't bear to witness what was happening.
A few minutes later, he heard footsteps approaching. It was Pidge.
"Hey," she said as she came next to him.
"What are you doing here? Weren't you with James?" Keith inquired.
"It's a little hot in the room, so I wanted to get some fresh air. But what about you? What are you doing here?"
"Same as you."
"Hmm, okay..."
They remained silent for a while before Pidge spoke again.
"You don't dance?"
"I'm a terrible dancer, really..."
"It can't be THAT bad."
"It is, trust me."
Ignoring his protest, Pidge held out her hand, saying, "Let's see."
Keith hesitated for a moment before taking her hand. He couldn't miss this opportunity, especially when James had also taken it. She led him gently as a slow song began playing in the ballroom.
"See, there. Put your hands like this." She guided his hands, placing one on her hip while holding the other, pulling them even closer, causing Keith to blush.
She hadn't danced this intimately with James earlier, had she?
"Now, follow my lead."
They started dancing, and it was evident that Keith wasn't entirely comfortable with the situation. He wasn't accustomed to such closeness. He had faced the Galra Empire, fought against Zarkon, and survived the quantum abyss. Heck, he had even defeated Sendak. So why did this feel so... scary?
And, something was different now. Keith had observed Pidge dancing with a few other people tonight and noticed that she hadn't been this close to them. The realization sent a strange warmth through him.
As the song continued, Keith gradually began to relax. His initial nervousness faded as he focused on the rhythm and followed Pidge's guidance. Surprisingly, he found himself enjoying the dance despite his reservations.
The song seemed to stretch on, and Keith lost track of time. All that mattered was the feeling of holding Pidge in his arms, the soft music in the background, and the way she smiled up at him. The warmth in his chest grew, and he felt a sense of contentment he hadn't anticipated.
Eventually, the song came to an end, and they slowed to a stop. Keith reluctantly released Pidge, a sense of loss washing over him as they stepped apart.
"Thanks for the dance, Keith," Pidge said with a genuine smile.
"Yeah, thanks," Keith replied, feeling a warmth in his chest that had nothing to do with the room's temperature.
That was the first time that they had an actual romantic moment and don't worry, Keith became a good dancer for their wedding... x)

AAAHHHH, going through the shiro's name tag is soo annoying!
People be like "AH, they shipped Lance and Shiro?"
Like yes, we shipped everything. Pidge x Shiro, Allura x Shiro, Ulaz x Shiro, Sendak x Shiro. Do some of this weird me out, yep. But don't be an anti. It's harmless fun. You're showing your age.
Shance is a vanilla ship. It was a popular ship.
God, new age puritans

Ouch it's been a life since the last post here, but luckily I'm finally free from exams so I'll try to update contents more often on this blog!
Here's a sketchy Shendak cuz I missed them 💜 sendak has not his arm prosthesis just because I'm lazy so I'm gonna say this is a pre-paladin Shiro au or just a modern setting canon free (?) Idk

I finally finished this sort of comic thing(with no background cuz I am lazy af) AAANNND hope you like, I'm not really good in making more "serious" comic, but at least I tried 🙈🙈
Hope the grammar isn't so awful, English is not my first language!
Sets after season 2, Au where Shiro and Kuron exist at the same time and Shiro (idk in my head sounded ok) with Sendak being a manipulative caring bastard because why not? ✨

The evolution of my shitty, shippy Voltron stick figures. Featuring Sh//eith and Sh//endak in the top row, then Uli//ro and Kl//ance in the bottom row
The Uli//ro one was definitely the hardest, because Ulaz’s face shape is weird to get the proportions of. And I should probably redo the Sh//endak one at some point, but draw it vertically. Laying out my notebook horizontally made me get their heights not-quite-as-right as my height difference-loving heart would like (and I didn’t even get Sendak’s shoulders as broad as they should be). And Lance is holding a glass of milk straight from Kaltenecker because I didn’t feel like trying to draw a rifle or an Altean broadsword
………Doodling these ridiculous things is a good way to clear my head while I’m working, okay

Hiya! So I attempted to post this last night but it was eaten. Anywho, this is my @voltron-ss to @itendswithz! Super cool we got paired together! I did my best but I’m a tad rusty on drawing due to some carpal tunnel issues, so I’m trying to relearn a bit. I tried to do the “we’re together to make people get off out back” type of us fro, your prompt. Art needs back story sometimes, ya know? Anyway, I hope you enjoy and have a happy holidays!

Prince and the Frog AU
So, I was watching Disney’s Princess and the Frog again and I was thinking about a klance au.
Lance, obviously, is Naveen, the obnoxious and womanizer (and bankrupted) Prince (from Cuba). Keith is the hardworking hot headed pilot assistant at Garrison, that hates his current job and just want to fly across the world (but needs money to finish his airplane that he’s building himself). Sendak is Dr. Facilier (wait, I will come back for this) Hunk is Louis, and HE wants to be a chef (but people just won’t stop shooting him when he approches a kitchen, wtf) Coran is (sigh) Juju with a mustache. Yes. Allura have magical powers and is +10.000 years old soooo makes sense that she “”is”” Mama Odie in this. Pidge is Ray in here (BUT NO, SHE/THEY WILL NOT DIE IN THIS AU, FIGHT ME) and instedd of Pidge in love with a star, we have Pidge miss their/her brother Matt very much and talks with the star pretending that it is Matt, whom died a long time ago. (sorry Matt, but it’s you or Pidge) Shiro “”is”” Charlotte. He is Keith’s best friend and hella rich, ‘cause his dad owns the Garrison, the most famous and prestigious pilot school in the country.
Yes, Shiro falls in love with Lance. (well hello there shance, long time no see)
So, actually, Sendak wants the influence of the Takashi family (and Shiro’s body) and rule over Garrison (and the country), but Shiro really hates him, so he disguise himself as Lance (a supposedly wealthy prince must attract SOME attention, right?)
Okay, so, Lance was going there for business with the Garrison and the school throw a fancy party to welcome him, but Sendak catch him first and transform Lance into a frog. He’s pendant is a blue lion. Keith was only in that party because Shiro asked him to be there (and Shiro put a stupid crown on him, fuck you Shiro).
Lance finds Keith with the crown on and asks for the kiss (he thought at first that Keith was a girl, because of the mullet). He promised all the resources for Keith’s plane (lies, he’s broke, bad Lance, bad Lance.)
They later find Hunk, he was cooking and they were attracted to the smell of food. Hunk decided to help when Lance said that he would hire him as a royal cook when they all turn into humans. Keith is so done with Lance that doesn’t even say anything about this bullshit. Hunk is actually afraid of Princess Allura of the Swamp so he leads the frogs to the wrong way.. ooops.
Trouble comes (Sendak needs more of Lance’s blood) and Pidge arrives to save the night! They/She leads them to the right path and they find the Princess!
Lance tries to kiss her, but Princess of the Swamp isn’t a title strong enough, sorry. (Keith wants to murder Lance for even trying and does not understand why he is mad at the first plance). Allura then tells they that “a kiss from a princess/prince” is not needed. He only needs to take the blue lion back from Sendak.... Or a true love kiss, she’s not too certain about it. The boys ignores the second option “because is too cliché to be true”.
(Sendak dies without the blue lion because of the voodoo that drained all of his soul and body with the shape-shifting)
Keith is SHOOK when he finds out that Shiro is dating Sendak-Lance and kinda jealous. Shiro finds out the true and is SO SAD, MY POOR SHIRO!! He helps Lance to steal the blue lion back.
BUUUUUT that didn’t work, and Keith was sad but Lance was DEVASTATED because he missed his family so much and he was crying and Keith couldn’t take it anymore so he kissed Lance to make him feel better, and Lance was kissing him back and-- what? They’re humans again?!
Pidge reminds they about the second option of the true love kiss, AND THE LITTLE BASTARD IS SO SMUG ABOUT IT - She/they won’t stop snickering with Hunk.
Lance is with that shit-eating grin of his saying “Oh, so you love me, huh” and Keith deadpans “You have to love me too for this have worked, you know” and Lance starts stuttering and blushing and “oh my god, I DO??? I mean, you’re awesome and smart, of course I would love you too but you’re so mean and--”
Keith makes him shut the fuck up with another powerful kiss.
Lance is welcome back in the McClain family, they finish building Keith’s plane and travel around the world together after a long stay in Lance’s castle.
Shiro supports they and is happy with their happiness. (Maybe he even go and meets the princess of the swamp, who knows?).
Hunk really ends up hired as a royal cook for Lance’s family.
Pidge visits Hunk sometimes, Allura other times, and she/they even stumble in Lance and Keith some other times.

Click here to read Chapter 16 of Monster You Made Me!
So this is just a porn chapter. Tags have been updated to reflect there’s some Shiro/Sendak/Haxus. Got some public blow jobs and double penetration going on. I promise this has plot relevance.
This was quick to put out (ha) because I love writing smut a LOT.
If you want to read from the start, click here.
