3. What is your favorite region?

It’s a tie between Looks to the Moon and Waterfront Facility! LTTM probably edges out over WF tho. The music in both areas absolutely FUCKS, and I just…I know it’s a joke but I do love being in Moon. It’s very calming, the areas are gorgeous, I love saying hi to her little inspectors and neurons and everything that makes up “Moon”! My favorite rooms in the region are probably DM_O02, and then her Neural Terminus. DM_O02 because of just how fucking...MASSIVE it is. It's so dark, takes up like, 6 screen transitions, its fucking breathtaking. Her neural terminus is also my fav bc Reflection of the Moon is the best song ever SOBS.

8. What are your opinions on Looks to the Moon (character)?

HOUGH.

lmfao that's the general sum of my opinions. We all know that tumblr user sapphicdib is down horrifically, atrociously, HORRENDOUSLY bad for Moon, so I'll save the rant on how much I wanna fuck her cuz I think its pretty obvious but aside from that, she breaks my heart! Like Sig says, she's caring to a fault, and that's her greatest strength and biggest weakness. She clearly takes her position as local group senior very seriously, as she is hesitant to use her seniority privileges and apologizes that they will be unpleasant for all on the network. She also has a lot of trust in her local group, going to them for help when she starts being starved for water rather than choosing to deal with it "on her own". She seems like overall a good leader, though probably a bit stubborn, considering she refuses to use forced methods with Pebbles until its too late, since she stubbornly refuses to believe Pebbles is a bad person/trying to hurt her. She trusts her group members. I wish we got more insight into what she was like during her prime, see her acting as a local group senior and not in panic-mode, but I suppose that's up to interpretation.

I know that some people think she forgives Pebbles too easily, or is too kind, but we have no real context on how long it is between campaigns to know how long she's been stewing over what happened. As an iterator, I think Moon accepts what happens...pretty quickly. The logical side is that she's already been collapsed, so why keep being angry about it? She knows Pebbles is gravely ill, the rot in of itself is enough of a punishment, he doesn't need Moon's resentment on top of it.

As an older sister myself, I think she's portrayed well. The ending of Rivulet reminds me of when my brother and I got into a huge fight one day and then the next day we just went and got Wendy's and pretended it didn't happen. Her message to Pebbles reads to me as that: You and I both hurt each other. Do you want to play some dominos? Can we just be siblings again?

i sense how on the contrary, when moon is in Zeph’s local group the members will all go ‘omg youre actually letting us do this’ or be surprised of her leniency with almost anything(or if she gets upset she wont be yelling her ass off and will try to remain calm), because of how Zeph would usually be so strict with em and they didnt expect better

see- first you gotta understand that the chancla doesn't really Hurt the iterators. while they definitely can feel through their puppets, those things are made to be sturdy (throw a normal or singularity bomb into Pebs' chamber,he's fine, i know he just doesn't have health but worldbuilding is worldbuilding so i guess a fully functional iterator is fine with blackhole into the head). it maybe stings for a sec but it's not worse than gettin pinched (also where did you get that she yells at em, she's only exclaimed so far i think. if you check how she handled Innocence, that's how she generally goes about it- no yellin for the sake of puttin 'em in place, she's just venting out her frustrations into the air)

the Point of the chancla is to get the target's unwavering attention so she can talk some sense into them WITHOUT using the senior privilege which is far more invading since it cuts straight through their systems and forces the juniors to stop everything to pay attention. these things are giant supercomputers! they are going to have a different perspective on what counts as "too much"/"too bad" than us humans! it isn't used to limit what they are doing unless the thing they are gon do is explicitly threatening to their safety, the limiting is what the Senior Privilege does!

in that lil comic with Pebs, Suns, Nish, Inn and her, she doesn't actually even hit Nish in the last panel, the chancla is only supposed to suddenly appear from behind next to his face n he gets startled + drama queen points. i've admitted in the tags of it that i gave up on the last page so i don't blame anyone for not gettin that since i haven't put enough effort into communicating it

with what she's doin back in her own group, she Needs to be this strict if she wants her plan of keeping everyone reliably long-term safe to work

and her groupmates would undeniably miss her. they love her! they don't want some lenient stranger without constant spice to her instead of their ramshackle beloved Azzie!!!!

Hello everyone, and welcome!

We are the denizens of the wonderous world we all know and love. And we have all gathered here to speak with you! Got anything you desire to say, ask, or send our way? Do it anytime you wish, and we shall respond - through our voices! - We are voice acting enthusiasts, some of whom, you may have already heard in some Rain World fan projects. You can send anything at a character - images, art, questions, ideas, videos, whatever you wish! And the character shall react - just like in any other askblog. But the difference is not just that we use voiceovers to answer (instead of art), but that the process is fully collaborative. As the VAs of the characters all have full creative control over what they say, instead of following the standard practice of one person writing/deciding everything.

Important things to note (please read before submitting):

When you send us something, make it abundantly clear which character you're addressing. You're allowed to address multiple, or even the entire cast.

NSFW submissions are not allowed. Mildly suggestive ones are fine, but they will not get a response, if the character you're addressing has a minor as its VA, or an adult that would be uncomfortable with it.

This project is fully non-canon. VAs are allowed to use headcanons and personal interpretations when answering. It's also not really meant to be serious, so feel free to send us silly stuff :3

You should only submit things for characters that actually have VAs, as you wouldn't be able to get a response otherwise.

The person primarily running this project and blog is me, @fadebolt. If you wish to voice act a character yourself, shoot me a DM, either here, or in Discord (my name is also 'fadebolt' there, and I'm in the main RW server, so finding me should be easy). There's absolutely no limit with the characters you could ask to VA. Slugcats, iterators, ancients, echoes, scavengers, any other species... they're all available! We also aren't limiting ourselves to just the base game. Characters from Downpour, characters from mods, OCs, and non-canon characters in general are also available (though if you're planning to VA a character owned by someone else, then make sure to consult them first).

One important thing I must note is that recently, the VA for the Scavenger Chieftain, Regular Scavenger, Yellow Lizard and Black Lizard, has randomly disappeared off the internet without a trace, so their roles are now available for taking - at least until they return (if that ever happens). Do note that the Scavenger Chieftain was already taken by someone else, but the other 3 roles are still available! Just... don't ask for characters who are already taken. Asking to be a backup is fine (in fact, backup VAs would be more than welcome), but we're not stripping anyone of their role, just because someone else asked for it as well. This post will be regularly updated, with the list of all the taken characters, and their VAs. Characters who are not on the list do not have VAs, and are fully open.

Idk if you're a Rainworld fan, but your handle is almost perfectly a name of an Iterator, which are super computer biomechanical megastructures. This, plus your art, which lives rent-free in my head, makes my head picture some absolutely nightmarish beasts for RW inspired by your work.

I am in fact a massive rainworld fan, though my handle came from long before I played it (the coincidence is pretty cool though, Iterators give me incredible gender envy)! The overall worldbuilding of rainworld is a massive inspiration to me these days and I'm genuinely obsessed with the concept of the iterators and the ancients. As a funfact, before I even played rainworld I actually referenced its GDC talk on procedural animation for a game development project in school a few years back! This ask also reminded me that I have a... frankly absurd amount of unfinished fanart wips for it that I need to finish one day (some of which are for posters because I wanted to make one to hang up in my dorm haha).

Also bonus! I do have an old iterator oc concept from around when I first started playing, and oh boy would I love to update it with some biomechanical horrors.

not to poke my head in where it doesn't belong but. i have very little context for the current RW drama- but yall really need to stop acting like everyone who likes the same thing as you is your best friend. and that ALL different opinions are something to be actively shunned and shamed. ive seen like 3 posts that all boil down to "fandom bad it ruins the game for me im gonna leave" and people getting the weirdest anon hate, and its so confusing to me. Block the people who are weird (in your opinion,) and try not to make everyone in the fandom your bestie.

Note: never join a fandom discord expecting to make a bunch of live long friends. they almost always end up this way. if you are in a room with people who literally just have the same POPULAR game in common, there's gonna be people you dislike. and people who do bad shit.

PAC Pick a Song - What About You Currently Shines Brightest?

Sup y'all, I'm back in time for the start of Leo season with another pick a card reading! The full moon is coming right up and I will likely do a reading for that as well very shortly, but I already had this done the other day and wanted to get it finally posted after much delay!

Below here are three cards to choose from belonging to the now-obsolete board game DropMix. It was a game connected to an app now unfortunately no longer in service, but it allowed the game to play by having chips in the cards activate a code that would send to a phone app to tally points as well as play music. You could pile the different cards together on a jockey board based on color and basically create your own remixes. You could play or make freestyle music. My basic pack has as many cards as the minor arcana + 4, so I thought these would be fun to bring out and work with for the partygoing Leo energy that's budding this late summer.

Pile 1. The Weeknd - Can't Feel My Face

Cards: Baroness (Fire, Leo); "I am in touch with my purpose and passion in life"; 7 of Swords, XIX Sun, XVIII Moon

(Okay just a quick note I just gotta let u know that I eventually plan to paint over the Sun card for my only RWS-esque deck because the smiley face creeps me out lol so I put a tiny candle over its haunting face. The Sun is supposed to be a positive card dangit!)

Anyway back to your reading! Right off the bat I feel like you're gonna be shining bright this season no matter how you personally feel about summer, get in the mood and live it up! Light that bonfire. Jump in the pile of autumn leaves. Tap into your senses in the most innocent and playful way. I feel like you shine brightly when you get excited about literally anything in your life, it could be a new brand of coffee or new pair of jeans or something but people like how you react to things. Reminds me of Youtubers who have these funny but authentic personalities as they review random products or whatever.

I feel like you can get so in love with something that you kinda, as the song suggests, "go numb" and let everything else fizzle away from your focus. But the thing to remember is that all those other things are still there even if they don't light you up. It's all about learning to find the sweet spot between really enjoying the moment and being in flow with the best of things while also attending to the gritty details. It doesn't mean you should "go numb" in the other direction by only focusing on practical things. When I see Sun and Moon in the same three card reading I am reminded of Temperance because you're trying to balance two different energies together that are ultimately meant to work together. Manifestation+work, joy+catharsis, reason+instinct, yeah? It's a lot to seesaw back and forth every day but 7 of swords tells me that you find ingenious ways to pull it off. Don't let the shyness snuff the light out, and don't let the egoic sense of duty override your needs.

If you feel like sometimes you have to sneak away to find time to enjoy what makes you shine from the inside, I'm getting guidance for the collective to simply learn how to share a little bit of what you're doing while balancing it with the part of you that wants to protect your creative ideas and work on them. Again, there's a message here about balance. You don't have to spill everything about your life to the first person who asks, but at the same time there will be people who benefit from your fiery energy. Your interests and talents deserve to take up some space, pile 1. I think this pile just shines in general even if you're not always aware of it, even if it's incredibly subtle. It's in the little things.

Pile 2. Evanescence - Bring Me to Life

This pile could be going through some awakening period right now. I know, I know, it may sound cliché with "wake me up inside" as the lyrics, but it occurred to me that the Shield in your card is like this old energy that has been barricading you from material experiences. Like this is a pile who's really already been in the thick of the brambles and is wanting to come out. The Sagittarius arrow sign is in my mind like a flare set off from deep in the woods as if to say, "hey! I'm over here, come find me!" It's being let off in the sky in the hopes of rekindling some sort of lost connection to something, could be a person or to a certain goal. You currently shine brightest when it comes to relating to others, and seeking out positive relationships.

It could be that you've gone through some disrupting experiences that have encouraged you to wall off to self heal. This may have taken a long period of time to work through. I feel that you're moving into a part of the thicket where more light is pouring in from the outside, that you're near the end of a long isolating tunnel. You're entering a phase of your life where you're ready to have connections that feel more solid and real, rather than fairweather friendships. You're looking for sustainability, for people to have some sense of loyalty with. People with whom you can truly enjoy the abundance of life. The main issue is that grief and isolation can becomes habits that we may need to temper with in order to allow the new. Forgive yourself when you still feel the need to retreat even as you begin to stand out more. Depending on how long it's been, it can be quite an adjustment.

Maybe abundance is coming a little slow here, as the green color here is blocky. But it's rich like emerald, so once it's found, things will transform in your life radically. It's saying that even if you identify as an introvert, there is still "treasure" to be found in building new relationships. It could be totally virtual. But you shine from making the most out of the opportunities that your current or as of yet undiscovered relationships have to offer. You have a lot to offer others as well. I do get a strong teaching role from this pile. Maybe you've thought about going into teaching. I think your students would see you as sensitive and resourceful.

Your reading is so clear to me, you shine brightest when you are fully present in the moment and loving what you're doing and who you're being. I don't think this pile likes to waste any time lol. I think you've had some hard experiences that have taught you how to value the time and resources you have, especially when you give this energy way generously. And I get the sense that you're learning how to manage both the philanthropy side of things with the personal fulfillment side. You're learning that one does not necessarily require the sacrifice of another. Compromise, maybe, but not at a net loss. You can give without overextending the hand, you can seek out bliss in life without taking it away from others.

This is not a common trait to shine in, pile 3. It's a mature place to shine, but not always easy to develop. It's required a lot from you right from the beginning. There were probably some things you had to let go to make it all work before. But it doesn't always have to be that way. Your ability to rise above the situation, brush the dust off your coat and move forward is what makes you shine. Although I'll say this: even if it looks like all is going well, you're still allowed to feel whatever grief is stored up inside you. It's part of moving past it in order to make the most out of the present.

Some of these experiences may have had something to do with your sense of confidence, your body image, how your present yourself to others, self-expression, and I'm also getting pretty privilege as a topic. Self worth over buying the right kind of things too… I think you're letting your hair down finally. You're letting some outdated ideas about your image go, you shine when you declare yourself to be beautiful and sexy "just because". Why does there need to be a reason? Some people might tell you that you, in particular, aren't "allowed" to feel good in your own skin and clothes. Some may get threatened by your confidence. But it's because that's where you shine and it's up to them to adjust their vision. Tell em to make an optometrist appointment if they can't handle seeing your presentation.

1) First and foremost, you HAVE to be a follower of my blog and you have to have seen my readings before.

Why? Because I need you to be familiar with how I do my readings—which include of bullet points, hella commentary and extra notes from the Teddy + spirit team pov (which can be funny, helpful, or both), some slang, cursing, and letting my spirit team ramble. A lot of the info is blunt and very no bullshit. (Bear w/ me; I got the Queen of Swords on my spirit team lmfao 😂) My readings could get a bit long, thorough, and maybe overly detailed, varying from the info I receive. My body serves as a host for my Spirit guides, and connecting with Spirits :)

Make sure you read through my Quick Starters Post (it’s pretty short n simple). Keep in mind that tarot readings are a tool for clarity, and not an all seeing eye. Everything is susceptible to change. Time is fluid, and nothing is fixed. The readings are based on your energy now.

so uhh, my eyebleeding colours and rain world banner and pfp may be gone soon so that I can fully hyperfixate on new stuff

I love rain world, never leaving the fandom (and still very much drawing all my fellas)

but I really have needed to experience other stuff. With rain world, I came here, got way more love and attention than I knew what to do with. met new friends, got new experiences, got new memories good and bad.

Honestly through the years my fixation on rain world felt more strained, it brings comfort yes but i also needed new stuff. and aus weren't helping, and roleplays never really work for me. and some friends became ex friends. and new trauma was made. and while I still love the scugs, and they are a part of me. I feel like this new fandom I am falling into has more love and fun experiences I can learn and grow with.

i need to stretch my skills and improve, i need growth and rest. I need to fall in love with something new. like I did with rain world.

These are my earliest rw art I have saved (25 july 2022? apparently, but i did change computers at a point and that might have changed the date) and my most recent full artwork (26 april 2024)

I have improved a lot, but now I feel stagnant, i feel like i need new challenges outside of school work.

i was stuck in a real time loop of draw or people stop seeing me, talk to all my friends about their problems or they will all leave me, hide how I feel because people might abuse my feelings. But I know none of that is true.

And as I have said before, this is a blog for all my dumb stuff and hyperfixations. I love people, and I love this community. and I hope my art still makes people happy

might even start doing more oc stuff. i leave college after this year and i might need a portfolio. I hope some of you stay but I understand if me changing might be a bit much and you unfollow.

But really I am still the same guy, you can still send me rain world asks, and talk about rw ocs, and I will still add rw to my queue, and I am not unfollowing any of my mutuals. Who knows maybe this is a phase and I will come right back to this

And I know I can make a side blog but really this feels like a thing for my main blog, if you want I could adapt a side blog to have all my rain world art and I can keep posting rain world more there. if people want that.

But i feel like my art as a whole will get better from this. and maybe I can be that fun art guy rather than just the poly ship rain world guy who has a lot of weird issues.

TLDR: My blog is changing. I still will do rain world stuff but my focus will be everywhere else. This is for my mental health and so I can improve my art. But i am still a big rain world fan and that won't stop any time soon

You may or may not know I've been working on this Rain World AU revolving around my take on the "iterator off the string" concept for quite some time now. The whole time I've been trying to make sure my understanding of and headcanon additions to the world and characters are as solid as possible before I start exposing too much or actually develop the plot. I would greatly appreciate someone in this fandom whom I could discuss these ideas with to further strengthen them!

This is rw-makeastory, an askblog where all you slugcats, scavengers, lizards, vultures, iterators, lantern mice, or other critters can help create a story. We are currently in the 2024-2025 storyline, which will end on January 1st, 2026. The blog pfp is a placeholder! We need submissions for a profile picture!

So how does it work?

It's actually pretty simple. You read the story so far (found under the cut at the end of the introduction) and send in an ask. You can submit any length ranging from as little as a sentence to as much as 2 paragraphs. Please do not submit whole books though.

Make sure that before you submit, you read these rules:

• Only send in one ask at a time, but once your ask is answered, feel free to submit another!

• No NSFW, some of the mods are minors!!

• It's fine to be chaotic, but don't change everything like crazy. Example of what would be allowed: Saint decides to randomly do a handstand while running from the lizard. Example of what wouldn't be allowed: The whole world then exploded and came back completely new

• Don't make your submission end in an ending to the whole story!! Unless we have specified that we are looking for an ending to the current story, any submission that ends with the whole story being put to a stop will be deleted and ignored.

• No slurs or excessive swearing. One or two swears are alright depending on the length of your submission, but for the love of scugs, don't swear like a sailor.

STORY (SO FAR) BENEATH THE CUT

The Saint wandered through the chilly storm. The freezing wind stung their cheeks like a million bees. In the distance, they saw a lantern. A beautiful, glowing lantern. Finally, some solace in the wind... They thought while holding on to their chest. (@glowingvoid)

The Saint walked over and picked the lantern up carefully in their soft green paws. They stood back up and continued to trudge through the snow, sniffing here and there for food. They would occasionally brush the freezing snow from their green fur with one paw. The blizzard eventually reached a point where the snowflakes would quickly became a fierce snowstorm. The Saint needed to find a shelter, and fast. (Anonymous)

The saint found a shelter, but there was a wounded strawberry lizard in there aswell. It seemed asleep, but could be woken up at any moment, the deciding factor was if it was safe or dangerous if it wakes up... (Anonymous)

Saint laid their head down, but was unable to sleep. They rolled over to inspect the strawberry lizard. It was losing blood at an alarming rate. The Saint was alarmed at the sight of stab wounds. It could be a scavenger... Or something else. (@glowingvoid)

The strawberry lizard let out whines of pain in its sleep, it's wounds were very fresh, it woke up but was too weak and in pain to try fight or harm the Saint. (Anonymous)

Saint felt like they should do something to help the poor creature, but what? It wasn't like they knew medicine of any kind. They couldn't put it out of it's misery, either. But they could provide it with comfort and warmth. Setting their lantern between the two species, they smiled softly and reached out, trying to pet the creature and reassure it that it was safe here. The strawberry lizard hissed at saint’s gesture, Saint hesitated for a moment, before ultimately deciding to go through with the action. The lizard didn’t lash out as saint rested a paw on its head, likely due being too injured to muster the strength to snap at them.after a moment of contact, the creature seemed to calm to saint’s touch perhaps realizing they weren't here to harm it. Saint and the lizard both looked at each other with a pitiful stare. Eventually, the Saint decided to curl up next to the lizard. It wasn't much, but at least it was something. (@glowingvoid)

The steely doors clamped shut. All that was left was to go to sleep and wake up again to see the same frosting world. The shelter was big enough to not be shoulder to shoulder with the lizard, but small enough that there was minimal stretching room. The saint did not feel friendly enough to move closer to the strawberry lizard, but also of fear of being bitten. The Saint left out a hefty sigh. He curled up with his back against the wall and hugged his lantern tight. (Anonymous)
