help I've been brainrotting about soulmates all day

The funniest one is the one where your first words to them are on their wrist, because I always think about that one prompt where it was a star wars spoiler on someone's wrist

anyway I went and replayed the lessons to find out Mammon's first words to MC. And then this is where it gets iffy, because it depends on if they need to meet face to face to count

Because his first words are literally "Yoooo." on a phone call 😭 and MC can reply "Hi"/"Yooo." Otherwise, meeting face to face, it's "HEY! Just who do you think you are, human? You've got a lotta nerve summoning the Great Mammon." And MC's first words are either "All right, deal"/ "Uh-uh, I won't go along with this!"/ "..."

AND THEN ALSO, is it only humans that get soulmates? Imagine Mammon is the only one with writing on his wrist, or maybe Lilith too. And if she had writing, it clicks for everyone after she dies what it meant to have writing on your wrist. The rest of his brothers are constantly listening out for whatever words Mammon has on his wrist.

And if it's the "Hi" or "All right, deal", that's so tough because the first one is common, and the second one should be common as well when it comes to making deals/bargains/gambles. Also, MC walking around with whichever option is hilarious. "Who the hell is calling themselves the Great Mammon and why are they my soulmate?"

And like, with MC supposedly going to the past with Nightbringer, do their words change once in the past? Does a second set of words appear, or have they each always had two sets of words?

"You don't know me?"/" You seriously forgot who I am...?!" -MC first words in NB

Present MC/Mammon who, if they've always had two sets of words, constantly wonder what will happen between them. Because you could pair it with the writing being in your soulmate's handwriting, so each set would obviously be the same. So they know they're each other's soulmate, but why two sets of words? MC trying to lighten the mood and say "It just means we're together in every universe".

And then NB events happen and it clicks why there's two sets. And NB Mammon, along with all of his brothers possibly, probably freezing in their tracks hearing MC speak directly to Mammon. So soon after the fall and the war too.

BUT THEY ALL BELIEVE MC IS A DEMON IN THE BEGINNING SO THEY'RE LIKE "???". Maybe MC has their wrist covered as part of their disguise in this AU. That would be painful, having to lie/play dumb about soulmates and act confused meanwhile your heart is breaking on the inside lol

OOF the implications! Of course the timeline shenanigans make everything more complicated.

Make it even crazier and more confusing if Mammon has the past words and MC has the future words.

Because for MC, the OG lines from Mammon are the first words they hear from him, right? So that's either the phone call or what he says when he shows up face to face.

And the Mammon has the NB words from MC because technically that's his past, so they would be the first words he hears from MC.

Imagine hearing your soulmate's first words from you, but then realizing that your first words don't fit with what they have on their wrist.

Then NB happens but Mammon doesn't remember or even realize that MC heard the words on their wrist from him.

The suffering!

I actually quite like soulmate au type situations, but the first words one is complicated lol. Though what other sorts of things could indicate a soulmate? Like a red string or maybe just tattoo/symbols manifesting on you that match your soulmate's. I think I've seen ones where it's like you only see black and white until you meet them.

But I like the concept of always finding your soulmate in any timeline, especially since we have an easy set up for that in Obey Me! Like it doesn't matter how well you know each other or what time it is or what realm you're in, you always end up finding that person, you know?

Anyway, this has the potential for much angst, I think! Due to the part where MC might have to hide their words since it's only a human thing. That would be so hard. And you know they couldn't tell Mammon 'cause I don't think he could keep that secret lol.

What do you think is Hugo's gender identity? Cus I want to hear what you think Hugo's gender is and the story behind it.

(I've answered a similar ask some weeks ago so I am sorry for the repeat, I hope it's okay)

With me, when it comes to label headcanons for characters, it always depends! I like to change it depending on the story I want (because sometimes it ties to the plot) and I enjoy every version of them.

◇ But I do have a main headcanon, so let's focus on that one :

I headcanon Hugo as a bigender transmasc. And I believe she is comfortable appearing feminine now BECAUSE he got to transition to a comfortable point for him. Transition he started pretty early on, even before figuring out his own gender. (Taking into account I think most pride labels doesn't really exist in-universe, like the words don't exist yet, queer people are a thing but they don't label themself the way we do now)

◇ As for the story behind it, I'll detail it a bit more than I did last time :

(I forgot if it was a "canon" thing or just widly accepted fanon) We know Hugo is an orphan, and I believe the orphanage he was in wasn't the best environnement ever and perhaps not well taken care of. So as soon as they could they would send the kids to work wherever they could and obviously the more money they made the better. My Hugo was afab and she quickly noticed being seen as a boy gave you more advantage in that regard more often than not. So she didn't want to be seen as a girl anymore and started transitioning the best he could at the time. It had nothing with how she felt about herself, it was purely about what seemed more advantageous.

When Hugo got recruited by Donella for the first time, it had been a long while since he last used a name at all so, upon deciding to take him under her wing, Don is the one who named him Hugo. She also helped him through his transition because over the years simply cutting his hair and binding wasn't enough anymore, which bothered him a lot and he was annoying about it. Thanks to Don, Hugo got to go quite far in his transition pretty quick and he's rather proud of it. Once he reached the point he's at rn he stopped because it wasn't worth doing more, plus he figured passing as a girl could be useful too and at the moment it wasn't hard to go from one gender presentation to the other. And she figured she actually didn't mind being a girl either, plus playing roles is super entertaining to him so not being limited by gender gave him even more possibilities.

Actually I don't think she sees herself as multigender, she probably thinks of it as another tool under her sleeves. He knows not everyone is at ease being anyone, so it gives him an advantage. He's everything at once, and he's very happy being his own thing. If asked he'd probably label himself as whatever feels best at the moment (or whatever's the funniest).

Maybe it does give her a crisis once she settles in Corona because she doesn't have to play a role anymore so she's confused and unsure on what is even left of her but that's another story

◇ And in case you wanted to know why I chose those labels : I simply don't see lots of characters headcanoned as bigender, or even multigender in general (genderfluid Hugo makes me SO HAPPY-), and since I am multigender myself it's something dear to me! Plus I wanted to have fun exploring different ways people view gender and go through their discovery journey, so every member of the gang has a different experience regarding theirs, and yet they all share that trans umbrella together :) in short, I am just having fun lol

The good/general thoughts:

pleasantly surprised by the acting! which I know sounds mean, but listen, I saw these guys in other things and I wasn't suuuper into them, so it was a nice surprise lol

THE CHEMISTRY BETWEEN THE TWO again, pleasantly surprised by that lol they played off each other SO well

10/10 soundtrack, it definitely took inspiration from older rom-coms and I loved it <3

Sooo, as I said, I haven't read the book yet, but I've seen some posts about it, and I think after watching the film I've realized that it's biggest flaw is that it's that - a film. It's a great film, don't get me wrong! And it's pretty obvious I really liked it. But damn, I'm a firm believer that book adaptations only work as series. They don't have to be super long or anything, but there is just no way to fit everything in a book in a two hour film. And yeah, when you're adapting something you have to make some changes, but Idk, it's kind of a shame that you lose so much (and even without reading the book, I can tell there's a lot of stuff missing). In any case, I can't talk too much about it until I read the book, but yeah 🤷‍♀️ It does seem like they did a good job, though - like, it genuinely can stand on its own really well, but I guess I'll have to find out for myself

hi there! i'm glad you and your friend like my art! now i'm not awesome at giving advice but i'll try my best here.

i've been thinking about it and i think it comes down to three things: listening, being listened to and contributing.

i think one of the best things you can do is listen, you won't understand it maybe but the most important part is letting your friend speak about their interest.

however make sure your discussions aren't only about said interest, it's important that you get to talk about things other than that. i've been in situations where i get frustrated because i can't get a word in. it's easier if you just skip that whole circus and just allow the time to talk away from the interest. that might be talking about your own interest or an event from the day or something.

lastly, when i say "contributing" i mean just putting out ideas. for the time i've been on newgrounds, some of the funniest ideas i've heard have come from my friends who aren't interested in ng but have just listened to me ramble about it and got some silly idea. but this also works vice versa, i try being able to discuss on an equal level whatever they're interested in. if its the witcher, i'll draw geralt all silly like, if it's homestuck, i'll send my friend a jokey drawing for their birthday, if it's a movie they like, i'll sit and watch it with them, etc etc.

i think you wanted something tankmen specific but it's a little difficult because i am on the tankmen side of things haha nonetheless i hope this helps out.

Welcome to the party!

I hope you're ready for a fun time! I'm very happy everyone could make it and you all look great. More on the party later, I have a few words to say first.

I started this blog a year ago today after having barely any idea what the hell I was doing. All I knew is my wonderful friend Poe got me into a new anime and I'd absolutely fallen in love with it. I'd had a love of writing since I was ten, and I thought it was time to put that talent to use.

Words cannot describe how happy I am to still be active. I may not be as active as I once was, and I cannot update once a week like I used to, but I still appreciate all the support I get nonetheless.

Since then I've made so many friends, met so many people, got into new things and done things I never thought I would. I could talk for hours about all the friends I have because I love them all, but I'll try to keep these short so we can get to the more fun part...

The night opens in a giant, golden, open ballroom, perfectly set white tables taking up a decent amount of room. Other tables line the walls, all covered in food (all with various coverings on it so it doesn't get too cold). Come in, take a seat wherever you like. Dinner starts soon.

The room is quiet, save the chatter of people finding seats. Three people stand in the center of the room with various kinds of musical nstruments—L, in the center, (@rudolphsboyfriend my beloved) Blue to their side and Semi Eita on their other. All three are smiling, however L is the most, seeing everyone make their entrances.

Once everyone is seated, he explains: one of his biggest passions is music and he has two incredibly talented friends that agreed to play with him for the first part of the night, then dinner, then the rest of the party as everyone pleases.

They make a speech about how appreciative they are for everyone (see above for that) and the three of them play their set. Music kicks on, they announce dinner is open, and the rest of the night is yours for the choosing.

Someone Who Loves You - Part One (Sunoo Day Special)

Summary: You leave sweet, handwritten notes on Sunoo's doorstep every evening before he returns home for a week leading up to his birthday celebration on the 24th of June. Though you are his best friend, you keep yourself anonymous when sending the notes and quite literally become his secret admirer. Keep reading to find out the contents of each note you wrote.

Dear Sunoo, 

An A+ introduction: I hope you got this note and it didn't fly away! By the time I dropped this off to you, I probably placed some pebbles over it though - so scratch that. Anyway, I know your 19th birthday is coming up and wanted to do something special for you. If I'm being honest, there are more than seven reasons why I love you, but the number of days until your celebration doesn't allow me to send that many notes. I'll send you a note everyday up until then. Maybe if I get the courage, I'll actually talk to you about the other reasons I have. And I'm no writer, but my feelings somehow can put the words down on paper.

First, I love your smile. Your smile is one of the first things that drew me in the first time I saw you. It's literally one of the prettiest smiles I have ever seen too. Your eyes crinkle - oh and they also shine. It's crazy. I don't know if you can tell, but your smile lights up the whole room and puts a smile on my face everytime. Even when I'm sad, I can't help but smile if you're smiling or I'm having thoughts of you.

Well I love your sassiness. Did you expect this? Maybe? ㅎㅎ I realize that sometimes you will challenge your friends by clapping back at them and it's the funniest thing ever. You're so honest with your reactions and expressions too so that what you're feeling at any moment is written on your face. You might find it weird that I love this, but this is exactly what makes you Kim Sunoo.

I think we both have questions and maybe they will get answered soon, but not yet. What is this...day three? Sorry, I have a whole list of things that I love about you but I forgot to number them. I told you I'm not a writer haha. Okay I found it. I love how much you love food. You eat so well and it puts me at ease. I've seen the way your cheeks puff up when you're eating something tasty and it's adorable. If people bug you about being well fed, don't mind them. You know yourself and you should only eat what you want to eat.

Sorry I can't take back what I wrote above because as you can see I wrote it in pen and the rest of my paper is too far away. I'm feeling lazy. Hopefully I didn't scare you away on day four. That would be unfortunate. By the way, you're far more aware of your surroundings these days and I can tell you want to meet me. I'm tempted to meet you too because you seem so lost. I'll make you a deal. I'll show up to your house on your birthday and ring the doorbell twice so you know it's me. Then I'll confess and then...I'll cross my fingers behind my back and hope you accept me. Anyways back to what I love about you. I love your duality. I've called you cute up until now, right? Well that's only part of it. I see when you're focused and it's inspiring, so I try to focus too and give things a little more effort. Tmi but my heart flutters every time you get serious and work hard. Sure there is time to loosen up and be silly, but you have a balance that makes me fall for you hard.

Wow, now that your birthday is only a day away, I'm getting nervous. Aren't you nervous too? I hope this past week of notes were worth it and that you can enjoy your big day instead of being disappointed. So here's the last thing I chose to write about - I love how much you care. You want nothing but happiness for the people you love and it shows. You will do anything for them and that's so sweet. Don't take on more than you can though. Ya know what? Why not! I'll send in a ship request. get in on this milestone with ya! now I shall reasure that tho i ramble about 3 to 4 charas they don't have to be the one I get shipped with.

Ok so on to me! I'm a 5'5 guy, long brown hair with an undercut, and I'm what you'd call a hobbit (short and stocky). Pretty introverted, obvi since I'm always on anon, tho I enjoy talking to people it's hard sometimes. I love to wear nail polish too but my hands are so shaky it's hard to do.

I am obsessed with space! if something has a space theme I've most likely seen it but not if it's horror. Can't really get on board with horror movies, too much gore. And books! I'm considered a book hoarder cause I keep getting new ones before reading the ones I already own. I can't help it! they make me happy! also who wouldn't want a big library? even if I've only read 25%, it's my library!

If I had the choice I'd sleep 23/6, need some time to enjoy enchiladas then go right back to sleep, chronic pain really takes all the energy out me. my favorite colors are green and purple. if I could I'd own only green and purple things but alas I do not!

I'm always watching the cooking shows like: Top Chef, Tripple D, Masterchef, Tripple G. basically I like food/cooking and can cook pretty well (not chef level but I haven't given anyone food poisoning lol knock on wood). also I crave mint 24/7 so anything with mint (food, scents etc.) I wish to have.

And that's me! take your time figuring out which chara would get stuck with me! -🍄

Really, that’s unsurprising considering the convos we’d have, but he would adore you. He thinks your humor is the funniest thing he’s ever heard. He adores your personality, the fact that you’re more of an introvert but yet you’re a wonderful conversationalist. Even though he only has one hand now, he’s fantastically steady with it, and is wonderful at helping you with your nail polish.

Ezra is a really skilled pilot, and he’d take you anywhere in space that you want to go. The Green is usually where he is, but it’s not his home planet. He’d take you there, show you the solar system around it, and buy you traditional foods wherever you visit. He’s not a great cook, so he really appreciates the fact that you’re good at it! He loves books too, anything vintage really, but he buys you endless books, starting with that book Cee loved so much. He never got around to reading it, but he has you read it so he can get the general meaning.

He loves a good nap too, filled with snuggles and kisses and maybe a little somnophilia. We know you both love storms, and he’d take you out running in the rain, saying fuck it to getting wet and shouting with excitement at the thunder and lightning. He’s a kinky mf and the two of you would have a very wonderful and active sex life together.

Well, guys, long time no see.

If you haven't seen any of the writing updates on my blog, that's because, for about two months, I had been dealing with a particularly nasty case of Writer's Block. The good news is that I'm over it now! I finally finished the scene that was giving me so much trouble and was, in fact, able to complete the second draft of Chapter Five and start Chapter Six. I don't think these following three chapters will take quite as long (fingers crossed), and then once I get to the third draft of each chapter, I'll be able to do more final edits and get them ready to post. I'm so excited to get these out!

With that being said, there's a playlist that will go with Chapter 6, and while I have a shortlist of the songs that I mention by name in the chapter, I'd like to have a few more to round it out. So, if you'd like to send some suggestions for songs to play at a wedding reception to my inbox, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Without a moment's hesitation, she booked it to the restrooms at the end of the carpeted hallway, fleeing to the sanctuary behind the black-paneled door.

She breathed a sigh of relief as the door slammed shut behind her. 

Laying her clutch on the counter, she turned the handle on the black matte faucet. Cold water spewed from the spout, flooding the ivory basin. Rosaline let it run for a few seconds, listening to the gush of water as it hit the sink before she collected it in her hands. When she splashed her face, the water trickled between her fingers. It dribbled down her cheek like melting ice, dripping off her chin in fat droplets back into the basin.

Thank goodness for waterproof makeup.

Hello again.

I'm so terrible at keeping you guys updated on my progress. I swear I've been writing even though it's been a month since you last heard from me.

In the intervening time, I've had time to revise the first three sections of Chapter Six, which means I have two sections left before I can move onto Chapter Seven. Unfortunately, one of those is a monster, clocking in at over 4,000 words, so I better get cracking. I'm trying to get more writing done this month than I was getting done in the last few months so that should help a bit. I will try to be better about posting WIP Wednesdays as well.

As a reward for your patience, please have the next snippet of Chapter Five:

Rosaline ducked into the bathroom. “Unzip me?”

Benvolio swallowed audibly. “Sure.”

Rosaline lifted her hair. Benvolio hesitated before placing his cold hands on her back. His breath warmed her neck as he inched the zipper down until it rested at her waist. When his fingers ghosted over the black lace band of her underwear, she shivered. He stepped back as if he'd been burned.

“Thanks.” Rosaline spun around, clasping the dress to her chest and gripping her silk nightgown with the other hand.

In general, I don’t talk about movies online right after they’ve come out of respect for people who haven’t seen them but I have to say one of the funniest things about this last week is finding out which of the blogs I follow have seen Eternals by the sudden influx of Drukkari posts on my dash.

Their chemistry is truly unparalleled 😂
