(Before starting this rant I wanna point out that I am by no means the smartest person in the room when it comes to transmisogyny, nor am I stating that this is the universal experience. I wish to simply vent about a frustrating trend I've noticed.)

I think one of the most frustrating things for me about being a trans gal or being transfeminine is that you are not allowed to get angry, ever. Or honestly showing anything other than being meek And that's certainly painted by transmisogyny. It doesn't matter if it's even full on anger, even if it's just the slightest hint of frustration, you just don't get to. And I've come to obviously see that in conservative people as well as those who are out and proud fascists. But it's a little bit frustrating in that even in more progressive spaces you are expected to be meek, to be quiet. I mean even being a little too joyous, a little too loud, a little too weird can cause immense pushback. And especially even just the lightest gentlest "you making fun of my presentation isn't cool" "you making fun of my gender is hurting me" or "you staunchly defending stereotypes that harm people like myself is a bit upsetting" is taken as like this massive explosive blow-up. It's not always that large but you see hints of it sometimes in people you trust. And like, as a gal who has been abused far too many times, it was grow a spine or die. But even in that I myself try to be kind, try to bring these things up with gentleness because it can be an earnest mistake, but the reaction I've gotten in turn flips to this outright hostility every single time. But even beyond my poor choice in friends (And I'll be the first to admit I'm not like this perfect angel either, I hope I'm a decent person but honestly I don't know that I am.) you see that expectation everywhere. With strangers, with doctors, with jobs, with nearly every institution you are expected to let others decide what you want for you. Again you are expected to be small. And sometimes you have to be small in order to get the things you need to live. Sometimes you have to be if you can't escape an abusive environment. Sometimes there is no escaping it, sometimes there is no other choice. It's saddening. I dunno, I don't have a grand solution or closing statement. It's just frustrating how enveloping it can be. I mean that transmisogyny as a whole is almost always there, even when it's in small amounts of bias. It's isolating. And at least for me, being a trans gal has brought a lot of joy and life I would not have otherwise even been here for, but it's also made my world feel just so much smaller.

I often worry about why the gods spend time interacting with me and other people.

I feel I am lesser than them, and like… why would a god hang out with a human?

But I think honestly..it’s just such a pointless question to worry about. I could wonder all day every day and use my worries to invalidate my own practice. but it wouldn’t change anything.

Because they are there nonetheless, because they have answered questions and prayers. And because I can feel their love and sometimes their displeasure too.

Whether I feel worthy of these interactions really is irrelevant at the end of the day. Because they are happening and I should just be happy for that.

I like to think that the extended family just hang around McDuck Manor. Sometimes, Drake chills in the living room, Selene does yoga in the hallways, Fenton and Manny casually build a Lego house on the steps of the stairs, Djinn has lunch with them etc. The actual residents all consider it completely normal.

But, as per usual when it comes to the Mcduck family, there's an equal chance that "hanging around" leads to chaos taking place.

Gyro could just as easily be trying to stop another evil invention from destroying everyone as he could be making coffee. Sure, Panchito and Jose might be grilling barbeque but they also might be engaging in a singing battle with a rival band who turn out to be nixies. It's possible that Fethry's there to borrow some books from Scrooge but it's also possible that he's come to warn the family about an old villain who's recently reappeared.

Something that always bothered me in PJO is that if Selene and Helios (the moon and sun) are faded, how come there isn’t more faded gods? Or did Rick just want to erase them so that Artemis and Apollo could be full on goddess of the moon and god of the sun? Idk I feel like because of it there’s a lot of people now that thinks that the only/principal deities for the sun and moon are Apollo and Artemis.

Decided to do both ending 2 (my canon) and ending 3 to show how different yet similar the routes are!

++ some rambles/explanations under the cut:

ASCENDANT ENDING

THE PRENUP

this is sending me bc i have this long ass timeline that leads to them signing a prenup:

- astarion ascends, then breaks up with selene bc she didn’t want to become his spawn

- selene comes with karlach and wyll to avernus, but she doesn’t last long (she’s a lover not a fighter 💀) karlach convinces her to go back to faerun. she tells her that she has been on autopilot ever since, and she has not had the time to process the breakup. the constant fighting in the hells was not helping

- hesitantly she goes back to waterdeep, where she learns that she is being summoned back to evereska. she journeys there and gets celebrated as the savior of baldur’s gate. she starts creating songs abt her adventures. somehow, she still felt as an outsider in her family despite getting acknowledgment. she goes back to waterdeep where she feels more at home

- she slowly builds her reputation. the reunion party also happens during this time.

- 3 years pass by. she goes back to baldur’s gate ever since the brain. not as a hero, but as a performer this time 🥳

- they see each other again ever since the party

- zariel arc begins(!) selene recruits astarion (and the gang!) to help defeat zariel. this is where they rebuild their relationship, whatever it was. they make house of hope their homebase

- before the final fight, astarion, desperate and pissed off that selene was not jumping on his advances, propositions (again 😩) to turn her. they get into this massive fight. selene tells him that the only way that they can make this work is to enter a (magical, hell-powered) contract, where he can’t compel her and in return she can’t leave or betray him. astarion, who was planning all along to turn selene into a vampire bride (where he actually can’t compel her) instead of a spawn, agrees to it since the contract was heavily in his favor. BOOM PRENUP. they both sign it. astarion turns her the very same night 💀 they’re basically married at this point

- they defeat zariel yay, slowly take over baldur’s gate while also getting a vacation home in waterdeep while also traveling the world yadda yadda. then they have a wedding despite already being married for years bc why not ✨

THE WEDDING

at this point selene is a very famous singer, and astarion close to becoming the shadow ruler of baldur’s gate. their wedding gets called the wedding of the century— think the royal wedding, imagine the masses crowding on the gates trying to see what’s going on inside 💀 they hold it during the daytime to squash all the rumors of them being vampires. their motif is white and gold, and is heavily influenced by elven culture. selene’s gown’s train is around 20 ft long. their cake is 3 minscs and 8 boos tall. the festivities lasted for DAYS. lots of hedonistic debauchery occurred ehehe

THE SONGS

so i chose songs that had wedding vibes but also toxic when you listen to the lyrics. chemtrails over the county club is about choosing to live in your own safe and comfortable bubble despite the ongoing horrors outside (cue in my snow globe symbolism for them). there’s also this line where it says “it’s never too late, baby, so don’t give up” which makes me feel that there’s still hope in the relationship becoming healthy… eventually 🤡 (i mean, they actually have forever between them). you belong to me is very fitting bc astarion can let her roam the world freely, but ultimately she can’t leave him. (this also aligns with one of the voicelines a!astarion has if tav leaves with karlach to avernus as a spawn— he tells them that he allowed them to go with karlach bc he’s not some “controlling monster”. he could summon tav back beside him if he wanted to.)

SPAWN ENDING

THE WEDDING

as for the spawn ending, at first they want to hold it with just the two of them but then word gets around, and now everyone was excited for the wedding! they didn’t expect so many people would want to congratulate and celebrate with them. imagine 7k+ people wanting to attend 💀💀💀

they hold the wedding reception in the underdark, but made their vows privately under the night sky 🥹😭 MOON AND STAR MOTIF LFG 😭😭😭

THE SONGS

just a quick one: there’s this line in your universe that says “you can thank your stars all you want but, i’ll always be the lucky one” which i think perfectly sums up how he views tav/selene. bc who in their right mind would help a vampire— a monster, let alone give them their blood? only tav/selene. (which also aligns with his voiceline saying “other people don’t have a heart like that. you’re… you. no one is like that.”) ANYWAY ENOUGH RAMBLING THANKS FOR READING 😘

Like. I feel most of my protagonist get along well (Surana and Hawke are very close friends in canon). None of them would actively start a fight with each other yk?

Their partners however. Put Morrigan, Anders, Sera and Lucanis in a room together and somebody is going to die. I cannot think of a single scenario in which that doesn't end with blood. It's so fun to me

Well, today's writing stint is going to get interesting. I've decided to try carrying on with the 'Selene argues with Schreiber about the whole being dicks to dwarves thing' and my brain has decided that my dear Sel needs to get herself directly involved in the situation.

I mean, I'm not complaining, I love throwing Selene into Situations. However, it does mean that at least a part of the Gardens of Galana miiiiight be getting a little bit vandalised and maybe a teeny bit burnt or exploded, I haven't decided which yet. Sorry @druidx 😅.

On the plus side, this means I get a chance to show off what a badass Selene can be when her buttons are pushed hard enough. While I can't let her go absolutely feral (otherwise the entire city would get exploded), I think showing off even just a smidge of what she's capable of is going to be a tonne of fun for everyone.
