Our L’Manberg: What Was I Thinking Pt 1

Do we have that out of the way? Awesome. Let’s do this.

If ya don’t know me, the name is Inferno. Trashyinferno. Yes, there’s a story to the name, no, I’m not here to talk about it. I’m here to talk about this ^, a song I wrote way back in July of this year. It’s the first thing I’ve ever published, but I get a lot of questions about it - so this is me answering some of them. This is going to be in parts because wow do I have a lot to say.

The song begins with Wilbur, as most things in the L’Manberg era did.

“You may think we’re down, You may think we’re out of the fight You may think the armor’s not enough. You may think we’re not in the right.“

Simple words from the leader of a not so simple nation in a not so simple server. Here’s the thing, this is probably the most generic opening I could have come up with. “Oh no, we’re the underdogs. People don’t think we can win, but let’s show them!” All we’re missing is Shang singing about the dark side of the moon for this to be the opening of a Disney song, but that’s okay I think. It’s allowed to be a little campy, I think.

“But even as the flare goes up and people pick a side: His or ours? Are you willing to die? The proof is in the spirit, In the heart and the soul Are you ready? Ready to go.”

Okay, now we’re getting into some meat here. Fun fact about the L’Manberg v. Pogtopia war - it’s not the first war for L’Manberg. (You probably already knew that, but... meh. Felt like saying it again :D). So why did I write this the way I did? Wilbur, to me, is a character all about picking sides. He’s been betrayed so deeply (Eret) and watched his friends lose so much (Tommy, Tubbo) that he’s become definite. There’s black and white sides here. Outwardly, anyway. When Wilbur says side, I don’t really think he means it when he says “ours” in the song. I don’t think he believes it. I think he is really saying, “His or mine. Will you die for me?” But that’s not particularly inspiring at the moment so he goes with the ours.

But, dear reader, that’s my interpretation. That’s the way I imagined Wilbur when I wrote these lyrics for him. But, every song has its own interpretation, and I’m not going to say no to someone else’s.

Another question people ask me is why this song is so mellow? Well not necessarily mellow, but for a war song, you’d think it would hit harder, be more energetic. But see that’s the thing, I mentioned it before, but Wilbur, Tommy, Tubbo, Fundy - they’ve all been through war before. They’ve seen the horrors of it, they’ve seen what people can and will do in war and they’re tired. Wilbur is tired, and broken, and weathered down by conflict after conflict and while this is the final battle can you blame him? So no, someone who’s seen war isn’t going to be excited for it. No battle ready rock songs that make your blood pump. This is a steady rhythm of doing what we know must be done. Nothing more. This is rallying the battle weary troops for one last push.

Our L’Manberg is a song that’s very not like what I’ve ever written. It’s not rock. It’s not fast. It’s steady. The soul of it, the rhythm, is rock solid against the frenetic energy of war. I think that’s what makes it special.

earlier you mentioned "having a blast" looking at jc stans at twt and i really envy your ability to treat the situation with humour. these few days i've seen more bad takes then i can stomach, and so much of them from the people whose content i used to enjoy and who i had no idea were grape stans... i'm already getting tired of muting and unfollowing honestly. i swear, one of these days i'll either have an aneurysm or quit twt for good ;(

I guess it helps to have a discord where I can discuss these things with friends instead of letting it fester. I only go onto Twitter for art. But I do follow some people who are great so my TL stays relatively clean.

The page for skz here is basically dead. I'm in the US and I was trying to buy a couple more korean albums, because SubK is doing the US version, but I'm not having a lot of luck. hello!!! 🥺🙏 honestly i don't think there is one specific place that lets ppl know which shops have sold out.. there might be on twt but ive never looked tbh jsjsksks i know that the skz update blog used to update which shops have been sold out etc etc :( but unfortunately like you mentioned they're not super active anymore ;; right now most korean shops still seem to have stock for the regular ver of the album!! from what ive seen?? but i cant be certain abt every single one!!

i think subk is doing 2 version!! so they have the us ver but they also have the korean ver if i remember correctly;; idk if it's sold out or not?? but if you're in the us and you're not looking to pay crazy shipping rates 🥲💔🙏 id say that's your safest bet;;

as for best pobs omg idk it really does depend per album bb like 😭💔 sometimes some eras it's good some eras it's meh.. i guess for sure the synarra benefit always sucks LMAO 😭 um my personal favourite is usually interpark !! their pobs usually end up being my favs or they have been for the last 2 eras!! i'd say interpark, withdrama, hottracks, and makestar maybe ?? have some of the nicest pobs!! chans shopee and aladin pobs during noeasy were some of my favs !! but then the aladin pob for xmas evel was lowkey kinda meh quality to me ?? so again idrk it kinda depends on the photos they do tbh TT __ TT

last night my proxy managed to buy from aladin, soundwave, interpark, music planet, and hottracks for me !!! so those shops i do believe are still available at least 🥺🙏💖 oh also!! i know that 🥺 synarra usually ends up having the cheapest ems for me personally !! i'm in canada and i usually pay abt 30 cad for shipping from them which is not great but if you're buying through ksites, you're usually not gonna luck out for shipping;; i think also ?? music plaza is known to be pretty good?? ive never bought from them but a few of my friends and even some of my ig mutuals have bought !! from there so 🥺🙏 !! idk if this is any help but hopefully you can find somewhere to go for!!

This is a 9-1-1 question: do you think there is a genuine potential for buddie? I do think there were some.... choices in s2 and s3 regarding their relationship and some of the framing and writing for the 2 of them but from my understanding of it, it seems they haven't interacted much so far and that there is weird tension between them atm.

I used to be 'yeah I could see it' but now everytime I see Ryan Guzman's face in the tag and how some of the fans seems to really compartmentalize Ryan and Eddie I gotta admit I just want Eddie to die or be replaced and fast. Also it could just be the writers deciding that they are going to not do queerbait or setting up a larger plotline for their relationship but idk so far I feel 'meh' about the whole affair. What are your thoughts ?

so judging based on the whole ryan thing i Do think bc it’s fox and bc it’s also ryan murphy that they’re just choosing to not care abt what’s happening w him outside of just treading lightly when posting abt eddie or ryan on official 911 social media accs

however- i do think that’s there’s a Chance. i think all the bi buck/buddie stuff (boy crush, the scene w josh, the santa scene, post tsunami scene, etc) should Go somewhere ? like it seems like there’s a Lot that points to buck specifically being into men and/or future buddie potential despite the ryan shit. i was a little wary going into this season but it’s not uncommon for them to have a few episodes not spent together or having many scenes together when towards the end of last season we got that buck filled montage in the eddie begins episode and the final loss of the abby plot. and then the 911 twt acc just posted that eddie video that Specifically called out his and buck’s relationship and how they’re the two most important ppl in chris’ life and that wouldn’t b strange if they mentioned anyone else being important to eddie in the video but it was Only buck (and some sharon mentions to explain how we got here).

personally i could see it as them trying to set up a larger story given how many people Want it or them falling back on it bc of the ryan stuff and shooting for bi buck only instead ? it just feels like they have to be doing something w that unnecessary buddie added in the eddie promo and the whole “hiding my feelings” thing w buck. but yes ! i’m still buddie positive !!! there’s a Lot of this season we haven’t seen yet so i’m sitting back and just hoping it doesn’t flop

I LOVE SHOU’S MOM okay i’ll talk more about her later actually jgkfhgffav relationship: (platonic) -ritsu and shou: i don’t know much about their friendship (i’m assuming there’s a lot more in the manga, which i haven’t read) but from what i’ve seen on here and twt, they look really fun!!! 

-mob and reigen: i really . love that reigen didn’t dismiss mob when he first went to him for help. like others have mentioned, i feel like it’s typical for adults to be dismissive of kids when they say anything that sounds ridiculous or impossible. and even if reigen thought mob wasn’t serious, he still gave mob his time and listened to him! i think that’s so so important and can really help in shaping a person?? (lack of better phrasing??) like had reigen turned mob away, it’s possible that it would have been less likely for him to reach out to someone for help, and maybe he wouldn’t have learned all those helpful things, you know?? i’m just really glad reigen has helped in mob in such important moments (((’‘‘: 

-omg also teru and mob ))): i love love LOVE them !!!!!!!!!!!1 i really love how teru changed after meeting mob!!! he went from incredibly . being super focused on his powers and i think he was a perfect example of what could have happened to mob if he didn’t remind himself that powers weren’t everything and that your personality and chara are vvv important. but yeah i just love that teru recognized what was wrong and was even shown telling an enemy that being too absorbed in your powers is not everything. i feel like that was a display of growth in how he views himself now and what he values. i also ))): really love how fond he gets when it comes to mob..... like when you see his face soften and just how he talks about mob . wuv fav moment:oh my god i think unless i watch something 8857 times i totally forget everything ;___; i know that there were a number of moments that i liked but i currently cannot remember anything,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Sad . OH jk two moments i can think of are

-god okay thinking about this one makes me zo upset,,,, i watched this part TWICE with two different friends and it was so heartbreaking i (((’’’: i think it was the 3rd??? episode of season 2 after reigen had made his website LOL when those Teens wanted to go to that House and take pics and stuff and they encountered the spirit family ))): that shit was so sad,,,, the father spirit was literally like ‘if you’re going to exorcise us please take all of us so we can be together as a family’ like stop i’m going to cry . that wasn’t my favorite part at all though GDFJGLK it was when reigen was like ok fuck and just threw salt around gkjdfhghgf and was like ok exorcism over and i really liked that part because i think he noticed how uncomfortable it was making mob, and that mob did not want to harm the spirit family. it made me really glad to see that he didn’t pressure mob into doing anything he didn’t want to just for the sake of making customers happy. and i think ??? that was a subversion?? of the typical trope where charas would usually, in that situation, have to Tough It Up and suppress their feelings and go through with it. i feel like that’s a common thing and it ignores the chara’s feelings completely but in this case it was totally diff. reigen acknowledged mob’s feelings of discomfort and ended the situation once he realized it. i’m like . really glad he did that 

-sort of similar, the last ? episode of season 1 where mob thought he was going to have to fight that person in claw (forgot their name zorry gjdfghf) but reigen told him that it’s okay to run when things get tough. i’m getting EMOTIONAL thinking about it right now hgkdjflghf like. once again i feel like it subverts the common trope of charas, esp young ones, ‘having’ to place themselves in danger and overexert themselves for the sake of Defeating Evil. but instead of having mob do that, reigen steps in and tells mob that it’s definitely totally okay to recognize his own feelings (of things being scari or too much) and run away if he feels safer doing so. people have pointed it out and i agree in that reigen is great in the sense that he’s the person who doesn’t enable or encourage dangerous behavior, but instead he’s kinda like hey wtf why are Kids being put in dangerous situations and being expected to fight??? love him 

headcanons/theories: i don’t remember if it was mentioned anywhere about what happened to teru’s wig (which i miss) but i imagine that ritsu thought it was terrible and cut it up or something ljkgfgfunpopular opinion: none ? 0: oh no what just kidding i remember something i don’t know if it’s unpopular but here it is oki so i remember after the episode where shou set mob’s house on fire (like before we got an explanation), people apparently (i didn’t see any of this firsthand, i just heard that a number of people were saying this apparently) were PISSED at shou, saying rude things about him and about how he deserves to d*e etc and part of me was just like,,,,,,,, zude,,,,, like i was a bit upset that happened of course but i don’t think it’s ??? gr8 to jump to conclusions and immediately assume that shou’s a terrible chara just from that. i feel like it’s reasonable to expect an explanation in the following episode so like,,, why not wait for that first before jumping to conclusions about shou’s chara??? i don’t know, i personally feel like when something Big or Surprising like that happens, there’s usually a reason behind it or an explanation that goes against an initial thought (in this case, the thought being that shou’s bad). it was upsetting to learn that people really thought those things about him instead of waiting to see what the next episode would entail about that,,,,,,, how’d you find it: i remember seeing a lottttt of people talking about it on here and twt when season 2 was approaching so i think i mentioned it to miss high (or the opposite) and when i said i hadn’t watched it she was like YOU GOTTA!!!! so i was like okay why not and i’m SO GLAD I DID random thoughts: okay okay i know we only saw her for like two minutes but i LOVE shou’s mom and what she did!!! i feel really bad that she experienced what she did, but i’m so happy that she made the decision for herself to leave shou’s dad after realizing that it wasn’t working for her. she left like That without hearing any of his excuses or anything like that and i think that was v neat of her, love that
