Listen, this has been stressing me out because I'm just getting back into Fallout and it's been really nice and it's probably going to be not so nice soon. I know I don't have the biggest platform so this is specifically for followers so y'all know where I'm at and if you should stick around, unfollow, or hit that block button. Stay with me here. Take a deep breath, check your emotions until the end and listen to what I have to say as a human person who wants the best for my communities. Which include you. Unless you're making racist content.
So. Don't harass people. Okay good.
Don't support racists. On board?
What if I told you that calling out racism wasn't harassment? It's not even harassment when people aren't nice about it.
Telling someone who makes racist art and fiction and does nothing to clean up their act to get the fuck out of fandom is not harassment. It's called de-platforming and it is vital to the safety of marginalized people in online communities. Keeping others in the loop is also not harassment. Block lists are community service.
Fallout source material already has enough anti-indigeneity. The most egregious example is the New Vegas Honest Hearts DLC. I will never shut up when I see it or other material used as a sandbox for racist power fantasy. It's not welcome. If that means being mean and loud and making people uncomfortable, good! Get uncomfortable.
I was on a break from Tumblr and fandom the last time this y/j/j drama came around but I've done my research, independently of anyone involved bending my ear. I've read the callout posts before making up my mind, I've dug in the tags, seen the art, seen some of the heinous anons that were sent to people doing the calling out about racism SPECIFICALLY. Many of whom where not white. I encourage you to do your own. Remove the / from y/j/j. Read the tags, anons, callout posts. It’s a hot fucking mess.
The y/j/j situation is not just about racism but it seems to be the one issue that their defenders avoid? Why? Because it's indefensible. There is no nuance or room for interpretation. No "I'm an abuse survivor so it's okay." I have my opinions on rape in fiction I can talk about some other time. I can share my professional knowledge about what censorship looks like in fandom and social media spaces. I will pull the librarian card (haha), also called a diploma. Literally have degree in it. I might at some point, unrelated to y/j/j.
Racism is the one issue I will address directly among the many, so mutuals know where I stand, and why, and if they want to follow me or not. I don't condone harassment or doxxing?? I believe the situation was handled with varying degrees if appropriateness. I also don't want racists to have a platform.
I'm not getting into anti/anti-anti debate because the critical thinking required is so beyond the nuance of Tumblr discourse and the number of people I trust to earnestly engage on the subject from either camp is extremely small.
Do with this what you will. I can't stop you, but please don't reblog. This is for my followers so we can sort out who wants me around and who I want around.
EDIT: You know what, fuck it, reblog this bc I think what I said about Honest Hearts and power fantasy is important. I also want to say it’s been said by Indigenous people in the Fallout fandom and even by fallout creators before me, just to be clear.

Someone once looked up how much Luke's star boots from that gq interview were and they were $350 so that boy saying he would look homeless is. a lie. More accurately, i weigh 99 pounds and my friend HATES me. but the two of us have food issues so we like to talk about taht lmao. the thing with the chainsmokers i think had to do with them as like ppl bc one of them cheated on his girlfriend? and theyre overplayed on the radio?
I mean the concert was fun we just could not see bc of the smoke or hear bc it was just too loud but they were having a good time and we were vibing. I tend to go to concerts were i know at least the headliner so i kinda walk into the openers a little clueless but usually i have a good time. i think i saw new politics? when i saw FOB/paramore adn didnt know them but they were fun. so you're more prepared for concerts than i am
Like im pretty sure my friend and i read clint/coulson at the time bc it was there and a few years ago after we were both far out of the avengers fan stage we went "okay wtf was that why did we all just ship that??" your steve thing is right though thats a big brain idea. all of those bands do have strong "making out while drunk vibes" what is it about 5sos, 1d, and atl that just yells kissing for funsies
you calling luke a twink (you're right) just reminded me that he used that specific little smiley face emoji thats that "you're a bottom" one on his post of sierra on insta and my first thought was "we get it luke you're a bottom we all know"
celebrities having standard taste in clothing when they’re young/starting out and then slowly becoming more and more sartorially expensive is literally one of my least favorite fucking things in the entire world don’t get me started because i will tear celebrities a new one. harry styles i am looking you IN the face holy fuck
oh hm i hadnt heard that about chainsmokers thats uh....bad vibes indeed. re: being overplayed tho that’s just like, everyone’s overplayed, yknow? i dont care about that. i honestly didnt start doing that for concerts until recently (i mean ive only been to three lol akgjlfkgj) but i just feel like if i was the opener i’d want people in the crowd to know my music even if it wasn’t my show so like. yeah
honestly clint/coulson is like a weeeeird fuckin pairing misogyny at its finest thank you i am very intelligent obviously KLGMDFKLGJ no just kidding but for real steve’s in his 20s and i won’t hear otherwise.
probably the fact that they all act SUPER gay tbh. luke hemmings? is a twink. no question about it. he’s also a bottom he’s the personification of the bottom emoji ainslee (our resident Bottom Emoji Expert) will confirm this
