Oh my teachers!
I have always been a good student – be it at school or college or work or life in general. There have been so many learnings at each of these stages by various people – my parents, my siblings, my teachers, my friends, my co-workers, my acquaintances, my family…everyone, each one of them have had a role to play in my learnings…each one of them has been my teacher, in one way or the other. While at school or college, it is about the academic learnings, the actual, the real learnings are from your own experiences – I have learnt compassion, problem solving, planning, communicating, proactiveness, staying grounded, humility, patience, gratitude, and above all, empathy towards people – all of these, while we have it in us, but they are enhanced or developed from the experiences and interactions you have had with so many people across different walks of life. What life teaches you through these exposures and ups and downs, no one else can! While I don’t have many of my family members and few friends here on LinkedIn, trying to tag some of the people from whom I have learnt a thing or two over the years. People who have been my teachers in life….
Thomas, AnilKumar, Baru, Kishor, Prajakta, Dharmesh, Raj, Sourav, Navin, Seema, Rajrupa, Gagan, Soniya, Sunil, Mihir, Naeem, Sonia, Narayan, Manju, Hemant, Ashish, Rajith, Rahul, Shivani, Husain, Husain, Hussain, Adil Patrawala....
Thank you! Happy Teacher’s Day everyone!

The governor of Pakistan's central bank told that Pakistan has sunk in foreign debt
The governor of Pakistan's central bank told how much foreign debt is on the country.
There are many speculations about the economic condition of Pakistan. Sometimes there are statements about default and sometimes there is a possibility of bankruptcy.
In December 2021, Syed Shabbar Zaidi, former chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue, Pakistan's financial affairs investigation agency, said that if we look at the recent current account and fiscal deficit, then these are issues related to Pakistan's bankruptcy.
He had said, "The government's claim that everything is fine and things are going well. All these things are false."
However, later Zaidi also clarified about it. At the same time, the Finance Minister of Pakistan had warned that if the subsidy on oil is not reduced, then Pakistan will become a defaulter and its condition will be like Sri Lanka.
Considering the current situation and political instability in Sri Lanka, concerns were also raised for Pakistan.
Due to rising oil prices in the global market, there is tremendous pressure on Pakistan's foreign exchange reserves, which is pushing it to the brink of crisis.
Pakistan's foreign exchange reserves have fallen to $ 9.3 billion, which is not enough for even five weeks of imports.
The Pakistani rupee has weakened and reached a record low. Against a dollar, the Pakistan rupee has reached around 210.
The new government of Pakistan's Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif now needs to cut expenses rapidly as it is spending 40 percent of its revenue only to pay interest.
But, in view of the global projections, fake news and panic among the people, now the acting governor and deputy governor of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) have talked in detail about the situation in Pakistan in a program.
Acting Governor Murtaza Sayed, Deputy Governor Inayat Hussain and Deputy Governor Seema Kamil were present in this podcast of SBP on YouTube, who explained the situation of debt, foreign reserves and falling rupee on the country with a positive outlook.
Acting Governor Dr Murtaza Sayed said that the next 12 months will be very difficult for the global economy. As we get out of Kovid, we are seeing global commodity prices rising. The Federal Reserve is tightening up and there are geopolitical tensions too. Because of this, all the countries of the world are troubled and inflation is increasing. The country which has more debt, there is a bad situation. But, Pakistan is not as weak as people understand. There are three basic reasons for this.
The acting governor said, "Our policies are such that we can slow down our economy a bit. We have come out well from Kovid. Yes, this year's budget will be a little tight but we are working on it. Most important It is that in the next 12 months, countries that have IMF programs will survive and those that do not will be under a lot of pressure. Ghana, Zambia, Tunisia and Angola do not have IMF programs. You Pakistan's external debt, country's policies And looking at the cover of IMF, we are not as weak as people think."
Pakistan has a staff level agreement with the IMF but the board level remains. For this, Pakistan will also have to fulfill certain conditions.
Regarding the difficulty involved, Murtaza Sayed said, "The staff level agreement with the IMF is not a small thing. It is a big achievement. It means that the IMF staff feel that what we had to do for this program He's done. After that if you fulfill your commitments, it's easy enough for you to go on board. After that we will get the money. The world will see that Pakistan is on track."
Deputy Governor Inayat Hussain said, "Pakistan's foreign reserves are close to $ 9.3 billion. These are not the levels we would be very happy with. We would like to improve this and it reaches the level of imports in three months. But, this is also not the level of reserve at which we should be too worried. Fake things are also going on about this on social media.
The difference between the imports and exports of a country is called foreign reserve. If a country does not have this reserve, then it will not be able to import.
The deputy governor said, "We have enough reserves which can take us forward for the next few months. The money will start flowing after the IMF program is approved. There are also some multilateral agencies, money will also come from there. Our assessment is that we will easily meet Pakistan's financial needs for the next year. After this the budget will also increase.
Inayat Hussain also talked about Pakistan's gold reserve. He said that Pakistan has a gold reserve whose value is close to $ 3.8 billion. This is in addition to foreign reserves. There is no such situation that one has to take a loan against gold to increase the foreign reserves.
The Deputy Governor also gave reasons for the decrease in the Pakistani rupee.
He said that the value of Pakistan's rupee has come down by 18 percent since December. But, the decrease of 12 percent is due to the increase in the value of the US dollar. The first of our own reasons behind the fall of the rupee is that in Pakistan the demand is more than the supply of the dollar. Pakistan's imports were very high in recent months. Our expectation is that imports will come down and the rupee will strengthen. At the same time, the market sentiment also has an effect on the rupee.
The "Mera Pakistan Mera Ghar" scheme is run in Pakistan for people to buy their house at affordable rates, which has been stopped for the time being.
But, on what will happen next for this scheme, Deputy Governor Seema Kamil said, "This is a scheme in which the common man who cannot take the house will be able to take his house." His installment should be such that he can pay. For this the government used to give subsidy. Now this subsidy is becoming difficult for the economy. Therefore, Pakistan decided that it should be stopped for some time and it should be reconstituted. This scheme will come back and people with low income will definitely benefit from it.
First let's talk about the current debt on Pakistan. This is the most important. At present, 70 percent of the GDP is left on Pakistan. The kind of countries with which we are being linked like Ghana, Egypt, Zambia. Ghana accounts for 80 percent of GDP, Egypt 90 percent, Zambia 100 percent and Sri Lanka 120 percent. The debt level on Pakistan is very low.
It also includes how much debt is from outside. In the case of Pakistan, 40 percent of the GDP is external debt. Tunisia has over 90 percent, Angola has over 120 percent and Zambia has more than 150 percent. We have more domestic debt which is easy to handle because it is in our own currency.
The second is short-term debt in external debt. This is only seven percent of us, the rest of the countries like Turkey have 30 percent.
The last thing that is seen on what terms you have taken an external loan. In our case only 20 per cent is on commercial terms the rest is based on exemptions which are taken from IMF and World Bank. Taken from friendly countries. It is easier for us to pay it.

Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali's latest film "Gangubai Kathiawadi", starring Alia Bhatt in the lead, has breached the Rs 100 crore mark at the box office.
Based on a chapter from writer S Hussain Zaidi's book Mafia Queens of Mumbai', the biographical drama features Bhatt in the title role of one of the most powerful, loved and respected madams from Mumbai's Kamathipura neighbourhood during the 1960s.
Released on February 25, the film opened to positive response from the audience and critics.
The filmmaker's banner Bhansali Productions shared the box office collections of the film on their Twitter handle.
"She reigns over our hearts & the box office! Book tickets now #GangubaiKathiawadi, in cinemas now," the tweet read.
Bhatt also celebrated the milestone on her Instagram handle by posting a photo from a restaurant.

Friendships that have stayed on...
"Hey MoLo, where are you, need some help..." No, this is not about me trying to show that I am helpful, this is about the reciprocation of efforts in a relationship that has always stayed ON over the last several years! At each stage, I have had a friend OR I was available for a friend to be there for them when the need was there! Right from Adil and Husain during the growing up days to Husain and Hussain during the early stages of my career. From Rama at #Capgemini to Sanket at #Ugam (in my first stint), from Seema, Rajrupa ..., and Soniya at #Netscribes to Tabassum, Nandita, Manju, Sonia, Unnikrishnan, Gaurav, Mahesh, Hitesh at #Dentsu over the last 12 years – each one of these relationships have been a 2-way effort to be available for each other during good days, bad days, normal days… Ah, these individuals make life so much worthwhile – if not for them, what is life, at each stage! Like all the other “days” that we celebrate, friendship is not about this one day, it is about growing together, each day!
Happy Friendship Day, everyone!

Chaos intensifies on city’s roads as PM’s statement triggers more protests Infuriated by Prime Minister Imran Khan’s statement that equated the demand of Quetta protesters for his visit with blackmailing the premier”, Shia groups and the Hazara community expanded their protest sit-ins against the Machh tragedy to more locations in Karachi, blocking multiple major roads in the city that resulted in not only massive traffic jams but also clashes between protestors and commuters. Eleven miners of the Shia Hazara community were brutally killed before dawn on Sunday while they were asleep near a remote coal mine in the mountainous area of Machh in Balochistan. The Islamic State (IS) claimed the responsibility for the attack. As the bereaved families in Balochistan have not buried the bodies in protest and are demanding that the prime minister pay a visit to them, Shia groups, including the Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM), Shia Ulema Council, Jafria Alliance, Imamia Students Organisation, and Jafaria Students Organisation, and the Hazara community has been holding sit-ins on various roads of Karachi to express solidarity with the families. But after Prime Minister Imran Khan’s statement on Friday in which he said that the condition of his visit to Quetta for the bodies to be buried was tantamount to blackmailing him, the Shia groups announced their decision to expand their protests to more areas of the city. On Friday, according to police and the Shia groups, the protests against the Machh tragedy were held at more than 30 places in the city, including Powerhouse Chowrangi, Numaish, Kamran Chowrangi, Safari Park, Sharea Faisal near Falak Naz Apartment, Malir 15, Abbas Town, Nipa Chowrangi, Shah Faisal Bridge, Khuda ki Basti in Surjani Town, Maskan Chowrangi, Nazimabad Chowrangi No 1, Johar Mor, Steel Town Chowrangi, Ancholi, Board Office Nazimabad, Safoora Chowrangi, KDA Flats, Ayesha Manzil, Jelani Centre, Nagan Chowrangi, People’s Chowrangi, between Ziauddin Hospital and Landi Kotal Chowrangi, Star Gate, Korangi Crossing, Korangi 2 1/2, Singer Chowrangi and Teen Talwar. Governor House A group of Hazara community members organised a sit-in near the Governor House in the night to express their anger at the PM’s ‘insensitive statement’. The protesters, who had come from various Hazara-populated localities such as Hussain Hazara Goth and Manghopir, raised slogans against the government’s failure to arrest the terrorists who have been targeting the Hazara community over the years. They held placards and banners inscribed with slogans showing anger at Imran Khan’s statement. The participants also criticised the government and security forces for what they called their slack attitude in arresting the terrorists involved in the killings of members of the Hazara community. Main sit-in camp At the main sit-in camp set up by the MWM at Numaish Chowrangi, the party’s provincial political secretary Ali Hussain Naqvi criticised the ineffectiveness of the National Action Plan (NAP) and said the government remained unmoved by the ongoing peaceful protest sit-ins, particularly in Quetta by the heirs of the Machh victims in the freezing cold weather. He said the PM’s statement had rubbed salt into the wounds of the victims’ families. “They have been waiting for you [PM] for six days for the burial of the bodies of their loved ones and you are accusing them of blackmailing,” he exclaimed. “It is part of our faith to raise voice in support of the oppressed. A Muslim cannot carry out a terror act like the Machh mishap,” Naqvi remarked. “The war between truth and falsehood is still going on in the world today.” He said terrorists have been killing professionals, including doctors, engineers, scholars, and businessmen, belonging to the Shia community with impunity. “How long will the stage of unknown terrorism last in the country. Killers are roaming freely in the country,” he asserted. The MWM leader also praised Karachi’s residents for supporting the ongoing protests across the city. Delegations of the various political parties and civil society groups also visited the sit-in camp that was entered on the fourth day on Friday, expressed sympathies with the Hazara community and demanded the federal government must fulfil all the demands raised by heirs of the victims. Meanwhile, in other sit-ins in various parts of the city, MWM leaders including Maulana Allama Sadiq Jafari, Azhar Abbas Naqvi, Allama Dali Anwar Jafari, Yaqub Al-Husseini, Allama Mubashir Hassan, Allama Nishan Haider, Allama Gulzar Shahidi and other leaders spoke to the protesters. Civil society’s protest Showing solidarity with the protesters in Quetta and condemning Prime Minister Imran Khan’s statement, labour leaders and workers in a rally said the state had badly failed to provide protection to the Hazara community that had been under attacks for the past several years. The Home-Based Women Workers Federation (HBWWF) and National Trade Union Federation (NTUF) jointly organised a march from the Fawara Chowk to the Karachi Press Club, in which a large number of workers demanded early arrests of the killers of the miners in Machh. Labour leaders and civil society activists said that despite the presence of security officials, the brutal murder of innocent miners was worrisome. They added that the Hazara community was facing a genocide-like situation and the government had failed to give them protection. “The heirs of the killed labourers have been protesting on a road in Quetta in freezing cold but the government institutions have failed to meet their just demands,” said HBWWF leader Zahra Khan. NTUF Central President Muhammad Rafiq Khan said the brutal killings of 10 mineworkers in Machh would continue to haunt the ruling forces for a long time to come. Other speakers said workers belonging to the mining sector had already been facing a lot of problems. Industrial mishaps in mines have become a routine and the government has not taken any steps to check them, it was said. They also demanded that the working conditions of the mineworkers be improved and the heirs of the slain workers be paid compensation. They further demanded that the heads of federal and provincial security agencies be sacked for their failure to provide protection to the Hazara community. Labour rights activists Gul Rahan, Saeeda Khatoon, Saira Feroz, Habibuddin Junaidi, Qazi Khizer, Dr Riaz Shaikh, Seema Maheshwari and others attended the protest. https://timespakistan.com/chaos-intensifies-on-citys-roads-as-pms-statement-triggers-more-protests/7814/
