unimaginably terrified of the day when we have no living holocaust survivors to give testament to the world.
#i grew up around yiddische mancunian jews so i have met many in my lifetime. for which i'm very fortunate.#but i'll never forget the conversation i had with a survivor at Sachsenhausen when i was teenager#seeing the fingernail clawmarks in the walls of the gas chambers#it affected the people around me in a way i haven't seen before or since#when we no longer have our elders to bear witness the world will fall into a very dark place. chas v'shalom.
