Oof the teachers figuring out) I have little faith in school systems handling bullying. A lot of bullying is never stopped because there is no definitive proof. the situation between Deku and Bkg sounds like it would turn into a he said vs she said type of situation. Bkg might get a slap on the wrist but the whole deal just fizzles out. After all, bkg’s attitude is his norm for everyone, his mean nickname is now a hero name, and from your hcs there is no paper trail during middle school.1/5
“And Nezu is shown to be more concerned about the schools reputation. I would totally believe any action against Bkg after the sports festival, LoV summer camp kidnaping and the press conference apology, would probably be blocked by him. Oof All Might getting reprimanded for being bias against Bkg because even if Deku is his successor he is still a teacher and shouldn’t let his personal feelings get in the way. 2/5
Oh man, and Bkg believing that the bullying wasn’t that bad or if it was even a bit justified. Bkg is so headstrong with his believes. Yeah he’ll except responsibility for throwing the first punch but I’m sure he would fight any warning or ultimatum. His parents are in business and he probably has practice standing up to authority figures before. 3/5
he probably would be able to navigate through the situation quite well. I believe he respects authority figures and would put up with things along the lines of his internship with jeanist, but when it would come to something that would affect him negatively he would call any warning a bluff and any ultimatum an empty threat. And I never believed that his parents would side with anyone but him. His mom seems harsh on him but she probably only thinks he is a punk brat, not a bully. 4/5
And for Aiwaza, he would struggle with wanting to protect Dk and being a fair teacher. He is super devoted to his students and job. But as just the teacher he can only do so much in the situation, and got reprimanded for taking one students word over the other, especially when a student’s behavior is not definitive proof of bullying). After an internal struggle I could see him compartmenting the issue and Dk angst for getting his teacher in trouble with problems and aiwaza being cold 4/5
This turned out to be long. If only I enjoyed writing. Whatever you end up writing I hope it’s angsty and frustrating. School bureaucracy is the worst. Some fanfictions have the police being involved, and bkg’s own parents siding with Deku, etc and it seems too fantastic. I want Deku to put himself out there, gain nothing, struggle but still succeed. For me that would be a real success story. Before reading Butterfly I didn’t like angst at all, now I’m all about Deku suffering. 5/5″
If you like Izuku suffering, you’ve come to the right blog. I’m still debating whether the school finding out about the bullying will be its own fic or a subplot of something else I have planned. But yeah. Schools tackling bullying are a joke. I tend to project UA as being overall better than your average high school, but a scenario in which it isn’t wouldn’t be hard to write. I myself went to an image-centered prep school, and one of the ways they maintained their 100% college acceptance rate was to kick out anyone getting Cs on their report card junior year. Now imagine what the guidance counseling was like. I’m saying I have the material. All that being said, writing something like this is still a ways off given how many other projects I have going.
