frechheit by @additiva — I actually love fic titles in other languages and this word literally means cheekiness which Charles is the cheekiest mf alive in this fic. one of my fav fics and I highly suggest it bc AH slightly older max? they're both hissy bitches and I love them.

God knew they’d be too strong as friends and made them rivals instead. but this fic? this fic tells the story of them growing up as friends beautifully and how they fall in love.

You'll Just Have to Remind Me by the_e_sea (t, carcar, memory loss) this fic is still in progress, but so far, I'm loving it. carlos has antiretrograde amnesia which means he wakes up every day thinking it is the same as the day before, and he keeps going to the convenience store every night where oscar works to buy dryer sheets. oscar begins to realize that there's something a little strange about the same guy buying dryer sheets every single night and engaging him in the exact same conversation each time. when i first started it i was a little confused as to how it could be carcar if carlos never remembers what has happened during his day but the dynamic is carried out so well and it feels really natural and lifelike. definitely recommend it, i'm excited to see more of this one.

blood chem by @sediciii (e, lestappen, vampire, roommates) i'm a sucker for vampire fics (pun intended). this one is probably my favorite i have ever read. it's a lestappen oneshot. max is a vampire, and charles is his all-too-willing-to-help roommate. max looks forward to charles coming back to the room so that he can feed, and charles looks forward to letting max feed for... other reasons. it's very sexy and a little soft, and i love the dynamic between the two of them

purpose in you by @charlescoded (e, lestappen, arranged marriage, dune au) it's a lestappen dune au oneshot. if you know about dune, charles is a member of the benegesserit and max takes on like a feyd-rautha-type role, and they have an arranged marriage. it got posted right when i was watching the second dune movie for the first time, so it was perfect timing to hook me in. i wish there were more fics in dune au because i feel like that universe has a lot to offer. i cannot express enough how much i am absolutely obsessed with this piece. it is written at a level of writing quality i can only aspire to ever write in my lifetime. the whole piece is entirely enthralling. it is the second part of the series, but this is the one i always reread. the first part is breeding grounds

Ruckus by @tylersayscool (e, lestappen, dystopian battle royale) let me start by saying that everything I've read from this author is so good, i highly recommend checking her out if you haven't already. this one is my favorite, here's the description because i don't think i can do it justice. "The students are taken to a deserted island, fitted with explosive collars, and given random weapons. They are instructed to kill each other until only one survivor remains. If no one is killed within a set time period, the collars will detonate, killing everyone." this fic has such a chokehold on me that i literally was quoting sections in my journal and dissecting them in like essay length entries LOL. the writing is so high quality and the plot is so interesting and unique.

Open my mouth, on my knees (for you) by @lovelylotusf1 (e, carcar) a little less than a year ago i was scrolling through the second round of F1 Kinkmeme submissions looking for oneshots to read and i found this one. funfact: my one fic "you're too sweet for me" was originally supposed to be a lestappen fic and then i read this piece and i was like 'damn i wanna write carcar' and i switched it to that instead. this is a carcar oneshot. here's the description: "Oscar has to deal with the consequences of a drunken confession he sent to Carlos. He gets more than he bargained for." i keep coming back to it because it has such a special place in my heart.

Ollie appears in the doorway, looking slightly disheveled but very much awake. Charles' eyes immediately widen, taking in the sight of Ollie wearing just a jersey. Charles' number 16 jersey, the oversized fabric hanging loosely from his skinny frame, barely reaching his mid-thigh. "Naughty," Charles teases, stepping closer and lightly pinching the fabric. "You knew I would come, so you wear this? Did you stay up for me?" Ollie nods, a blush touching the tips of his ears in the dim light. Charles feels it like a burn, trailing his hand down from Ollie's shoulder to his elbow. Ollie's hand grasps Charles' before it can fall completely, "Maybe..." he trails off, looking to the side. Charles wants to squeeze him in his hands, put him in the car, and push him off the track.

Charles pretends not to hear, but he smiles, thankful that he's facing away from Arthur. He feels Arthur climb on top of him—his brother has packed on some considerable muscle as of late, all lean and firm where he's pressed against him—and he doesn't miss the way Arthur ruts against his thigh, panting hot and wet against the shell of Charles' ear. "You promised," Arthur whispers, and a whine is wrenched from his throat—soft and choked. Charles itches to touch him. He did promise, and he's been waiting just as long as Arthur has. "I'm eighteen now, Charles, please," Arthur goes on, letting a half-whine, half-sob fall from his mouth. Even in the darkness, he swears he sees a hint of a smile on his big brother's face—he's fucking teasing him. On purpose. "Haven't I been good?"

Ring girl Charles would definitely sacrifice the odd job in favour of getting to have Max sucking and biting and leaving marks all up his thighs and over his chest. Max probably doesn't have sex in the lead up to a big fight so once the fight ends he is all over Charles working off his pent up sexual frustrations. Charles is only too happy to help.

Charles hates the rain. Ever since he was little he has hated rain. When he was little, rain meant he couldn’t play outside anymore. He can almost hear his maman’s voice, “Charlot, come inside you will catch a cold!” He remembers how he would begrudgingly pick up his toys (usually his favorite red RC car), and would drag Arthur inside behind him. He wishes he could go back to the time where rain was only an obstacle keeping him from childish mischief. Life had been a lot simpler back then. The thing about rain is it takes. It’s unforgiving, uncontrollable, it doesn’t stop just because you want it to. Much like time. In 2014, the rain takes one of Charles’ favorite people away from him, and ends his lifelong love of a sport he thought would one day be his career. In 2017, it’s a rainy day when his father is taken from him, and Charles remembers that when he leaves the hospital it’s pouring. Tears are indistinguishable from the droplets falling from the sky, and Charles screams. The sound swallowed by the relentless pouring of the rain, he screams at the sky, cursing it as he falls to his knees. Cursing the universe for all it has taken from him. And like it always does, the universe doesn’t answer. Charles sits on his knees and lets the rain pelt him for what feels like hours before like it always does, it just stops. And the sky begins to clear, the sun begins to shine again, people start to walk around again, smiling and laughing, like Charles’ life hasn’t just ended. Life goes on. People move on. But Charles doesn’t.

Taking into account omegas are so rare, it must be so weird for Charles to look at himself on the mirror and see all the bites, since no one else on his life, his social circle, has them. He must feel diferent, and lonely, specially considering what those bites represent at this point of his life

Just a small thought I had this morning, wygig is in mu head rent free 24/7

I mean. it's pretty intense.

granted this is not necessarily what a beta is seeing, but it's what Charles would see, and it's what any other alpha or omega would see.

the bites don't just make him feel isolated, they would make him angry too - because of what they represent, as you said. of course, his omega thinks of them slightly differently ...

Did you have any inspiration for your fic when you were thinking about what the story would be about? Did any other works, writers etc inspire you?

Hi Anon!

Oh yes absolutely. The whole work is really inspired by my love for the anime DBZ. Most of the characterizations are based on the characters in that series. Prince Vegeta was my first love and is who Max is based on.

I outlined the whole story loosely before I started writing it in February and I'm adding details to my outline as I go based on vibes and reader feedback for the aspects they like. An example for this is I've completely moved up my time table for Charles' tail reemergence since it has practically been demanded sooner 😅

As for other writers/works. I read a lot of fics in the DBZ space and it was my first fandom I started reading in. There are many amazing authors there, and I've drawn a lot of ideas for my work from those fics I've read. My passion transitioned to F1 and its many incredible character possibilities with complex narratives that go along with motorsport. @ladysomething and @lovesickgolbach encouraged me to try writing after I beta read a few pieces for them and everything kind of snowballed from there! I'm a huge fan of their works as well as @fabbyf1, @alexandria-alexis, @sediciii and @3ncr1pted .
