Photo: @alefilizzola People from traditional communities along the Amazon River, also called "ribeirinhos" use the boat as the main way of transportation. The festivities of the the Círio de Nazaré gather around 4 million people over all the events, processions and celebrations. Most of these people are from the local and traditional communities around Belem or from the Northern area of Brazil in general. Due to the limited road infrastructure, the rivers are the highway of the Amazon and the most common way of transportation is the boat. The Círio de Nazaré is the biggest Christian party in the world gathering more than 1.5 million people just for the main procession and around 4 million people considering the whole event. It happens every year in the city of Belém do Pará, located near to the mouth of the Amazon River, located in the Brazilian Amazon. However it is still yet to be discovered by the rest of the world and even by the  most of the Brazilians. Photo: @alefilizzola The Círio Fluvial is an important procession happening as part of the festivities of the Círio de Nazaré. This river procession is an impressive view composed of hundreds of boats from all different sizes and shapes. It comes bringing the image of Nossa Senhora de Nazaré to sleep overnight at the Igreja da Matriz in the old historical borough of the city. The main procession will departure from there following the sunrise of the second Sunday of October. The Círio de Nazaré is the biggest Christian party in the world gathering more than 1.5 million people just for the main procession and around 4 million people considering the whole event. The Círio de Nazaré is biggest Christian popular party and the third biggest religious party in the whole world. It takes place every year in the Brazilian Amazon and it is an impressive expression of the faith, art and culture of the northern Brazilian people. Even though, unbelievably, it is still to be known abroad and even by the most of the Brazilians.
