As supernatural creatures began to assert their dominance through blood-soaked raids and merciless killings, humanity was forced to confront the chilling reality that the myths and legends they had long feared were, in fact, real. A secret, silent war ensued over the centuries, and what seemed to be a hopeless battle for humans turned into an equal one as more technology and science progressed. Aided by new knowledge and means to dispose of their threat, humans continued exterminating and studying supernatural entities until the scales were tipped in their favor. The New Order spread its bases in every country, chasing the enemies into the deepest, darkest hiding places or their most inconspicuous human disguises, living amongst them and denying their true nature. In the heart of South Korea, the higher authorities of Mahan could no longer stand the bloodbath. Decades ago, the city opened its gates to all people, supernatural or not, under the Peace Decree. It became a place where no killings, hunts, schemes, or hostility among its people were permitted. With the offer of a safe haven to the cornered creatures and exhausted hunters, that forced them to come to a bitter peace agreement while on the city’s grounds. Their real nature, on both ends, could, however, never be revealed. While the city offered them protection inside, following an enemy outside Mahan’s gates to exterminate them, hunter or creature, was no longer within the city’s power to stop. Therefore, the current Mahan’s citizens are only oblivious humans on the surface. It is to everyone’s disadvantage to expose their true identities, as such carelessness can have dire consequences.
