In 2012, the well-known BBC adaptation of the trilogy boosted the sales further.  

The whole plot revolves around a twenty-two-year-old, Jenny Lee, who in 1957 leaves her home to fulfill her goal of becoming a midwife in the London’s East End. She then received training to become a midwife and was hired as a nurse at the London Hospital in the 1950s to help the poor.  She then became ward sister at Marie Curie Hospital in Hampstead. She later married to artist Philip Worth and had two daughters.

After her retirement, she begins with her musical interest and received a certificate of competence to practice piano and singing at the London College of Music. She gave many performances as a soloist and all after that she started with her writing passion and gave with her first memoirs, ‘Call the Midwife’ and her other sequel also been shaped into books. The television chain based on her books series started broadcasting on BBC One in the year 2012.
