How to make the best use out of the used callaway golf clubs?
Some experts are strange in their methodical purchases of golf clubs from internet galleries after taking into account a number of characteristics such as hybrid iron composition, geometry, and sweet spot of the club face. Despite certain signs of wear and tear, used callaway golf clubs are discovered to be the finest choices. What is the reason behind that? Let's elaborate on that idea more right now.
Dynamic sweet spot
Don't buy a golf club if the owner claims it has the largest sweet spot ever for making the biggest strokes. There are various myths about golf club sweet spots. If you were more aware of this ball-sweet spot and the sweet spots of the clubs you use, you would be able to reap the rewards much more effectively. Once you get the club aimed in this pinhead-sized zone, you will be able to make the biggest strokes with ease.
The maker does not, however, deliberately create the sweet spot too small or too large. Depending on several internal and external factors, its position could potentially be dynamic. Therefore, before using any old or even brand-new clubs, be sure you grasp these fundamentals. That would enable you to purchase the appropriate clubs like the used mizuno golf clubs. You may take full advantage by using the appropriately used callaway golf clubs to perform better.
Understanding the Golf club sweet spot
You'd be amused if you realized there's nothing like it in the manufacturer's design. Yes, it is the center of gravity of the club that corresponds with the center of gravity of the ball for a flawless hit known as a sweet spot hit. According to physics, excellent balance offers you an advantage to hit the ball with precise timing. This is analogous to a straight drive in cricket.
When the batter hits the ball in line with the bat swing, the hitter's Center of Gravity is aligned, making it simpler for the batsman to strike smoothly. In the shot, this is referred to as pure timing. It is just the same way; the baseball sweet spot hit is also timed well by the player.
The little place that serves as the centre of gravity can therefore fluctuate, making it a dynamic spot rather than the static spot that you would expect it to be in the middle of the club face. However, there is occasionally a chance to hit in line with the centers of gravity of the ball and the club when you strike on the middle cross mark of the club faces.
Superb timing in shots
Therefore, picking the appropriate club will help you hit sweet spots more frequently by enabling better timing. For the same reasons as above, choosing the proper size, weight, and design of the clubs from the online gallery may be advantageous for you. Pros choices would be the affordable used mizuno golf clubs for training hardcore. The latest models of second hand mizuino golf clubs are not bad either.
Energy transfer
When you strike the ball on the sweet spot, mechanical energy is efficiently and collectively transmitted from the bat to the ball for the aforementioned cause. It is completely a matter of luck, but with enough practice and the greatest equipment possible, you may increase the likelihood that it will occur. Action, air drift, and tee placement, among many other factors, are also important. So, for beginners and pros alike, the best option would be the used callaway golf clubs considering the costs, design and durability factors too.

Trump Lights It Up on 'Gutfeld' in Funny and Endearing Appearance
Former President Donald Trump seems to have boundless energy that can't be squelched, despite all the attacks against him and even in the face of two assassination attempts.
He was in New York, on Long Island, for a rally and he took the time out to visit with a little boy with a brain disorder and give him a birthday present. He also, prior to the rally, went on Greg Gutfeld's show. It's hard to imagine, after all that has been happening, how he keeps it all together, but he looked in great shape, very relaxed and he had a lot of fun on the show.
WATCH: Most Heartwarming Update Ever As Trump Hand Delivers Present to Little Liam
It's something that Kamala Harris could never do because it requires you to be spontaneous and yourself. Meanwhile, Trump is naturally open and funny. The audience loved it as Gutfeld introduced him, "Let's crank it up to 11 for President 45 and 47!"
Gutfeld brought up his golf game. The second assassination attempt earlier in the week had been at his Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida. “Well, I haven’t been thinking about it too much lately,” Trump responded. “I always said golf is a very dangerous game,” he joked.
Gutfeld asked if he knew the suspect was there would he have tried to take him out with his 3 wood. Trump said he thought so. He then praised the Secret Service agent who spotted the barrel of the suspect's gun and fired at him.
"We’ve been going through a lot of it,” he said of two attempts against him. “We’re getting very good at it. But I don’t want to say that too loudly.” He praised the woman who realized something was wrong and got the license plate of the suspect, saying she was very "smart" and a "heroine."
'Women Are Smarter Than Men': Trump Tells Story of Witness Who Tracked Would-Be Assassin at MI Town Hall
Gutfeld pointed out how both Joe Biden and Kamala Harris had called him to wish him well and that conflicted with their claims he was some kind of existential threat.
When asked about how he processed the attempts, Trump joked he didn't have a choice. He spoke about how it was a "dangerous job." He said so far he'd been "very lucky" or "something is greater than all of us," as he looked up to heaven. "Something is up there, someone is up there, watching over us," Trump thought. "I think he's voting for you," Tyrus joked.
Trump said the Butler attempt made him think more about God because if he hadn't turned at just the right moment in response to talking about an immigration chart, he might not be here today. "Your ratings might be a little lower, perhaps," he joked with Gutfeld.
Trump described the pinging of the bullet as it clipped his ear, then he explained how he showed the wound to Gutfled at the RNC. "Who am I going to show it to?" Trump quipped. "So if I'm going to show it, let's do it with Gutfled!" Tyrus asked how did you get him to see your ear, since Trump is over six feet and Gutfeld is short. "I sat in a low chair," Trump replied.
Gutfeld brought up how the media tries to blame Trump for the attacks on him, without seeing their own role [in constantly demonizing Trump]. Trump spoke about how unfair the media has been including during the debate. He joked that ABC's David Muir's hair "was better five years ago." Then he pointed out how bad the "fact-checks" from the moderators were including on things he was right on like crime versus not checking Kamala Harris on lies she tells over "bloodbath" and "fine people" hoaxes.
Trump joked about how Joe Biden did so badly in the first debate they had to swap him out and wondering if Harris did badly were they going to swap her out too, "Let's have another one!" He said the only thing maybe he regretted was not going back at the moderators.
Trump spoke about what he'd done to secure the border and the slogan, "Make America Great Again" and how Biden attacked MAGA people. Who could attack wanting to make America great? he asked.
— Trump War Room (@TrumpWarRoom) September 19, 2024
But that's Biden and now Harris. He spoke about the problem of Venezuelan gangs in Aurora, and joked they were becoming real estate developers but "their little card is a bullet."
Trump spoke about Kamala trying to flip-flop on her positions to appear more moderate, suddenly she's flipping on her policies as to things like fracking and guns.
That clip ends as he's talking about the brothers of Barack Obama and Tim Walz supporting him. That's when Tyrus brought down the house.
"To be fair, a lot of brothers will be supporting you," Tyrus said.
Trump also told a story about the only time he spoke to Tim Walz. He said that Walz was nervous about protesters who were carrying American flags [peacefully] around the governor's mansion in Minnesota. Funny, he's more disturbed about that than he seemed about BLM and Antifa folks who burned parts of Minneapolis. But Trump helped him anyway.
Then there was this hilarious story about how Trump gave RFK Jr's family a ride to Florida — even though he was suing Trump.
Hilarious: RFK Jr. Recalls How Trump Flew His Family on Private Jet— Even As He Was Suing Former President
Trump also explained the historic nature of the Teamsters refusing to support Kamala Harris when they've supported the Democratic candidate without fail for decades. He pointed out how he got 60 percent — 59.6 percent specifically — to Kamala's 34 percent in their electronic poll of the members.
President Trump reacts to the Teamsters not endorsing Comrade Kamala: "They took a poll and we got 60% in the poll... that was sort of a big event. Nobody ever expected a thing like that to happen." pic.twitter.com/HLO0GbgxIr— Trump War Room (@TrumpWarRoom) September 19, 2024
Teamsters Members Overwhelmingly Voted to Endorse Trump, But Leadership Wimped Out
Prepare for Meltdowns: CBS Report, Post-Debate Poll Show Good News for Trump in Michigan
What makes that even more eye-opening is that may be a big window into how some of those same folks might be voting in the Rust Belt. If the Democrats lose the rank and file of the Teamsters, that's telling you a lot.
But then Tyrus had a great gift for Trump, giving him a championship belt and thanking him, calling him the "People's champion." I think he was pretty touched by it.

When in Hawaii
Tom Holland x Fem!Reader
Request: No one asked for this but Tom’s Instagram Hawaii pics are just too tempting.
•Warnings: Fluff, bad writing (definitely not my best), swearing?.
•Summary: When in Hawaii, You got to do something new. Sport? Not always your forte but you didn’t realize you are so awful at golf until you meet a handsome, trust fund golfer.
•Word count- 2.7k (how did I manage to write so much scrap)
When in Hawaii you got to try something new. In this beautiful place like this, you need to just get away from reality; take the world in for once in your life. Your family had planned this holiday for weeks now, and finally, all of you are here. Just like the pictures you see on Instagram feeds, the island is as beautiful as it is captured on our phone screens. While dragging all our luggage to the hotel, other families and groups of friends pass you by; but a certain group catches your eye. You don't remember them on the same plane but you do remember seeing a fancy jet at the airport surely that wasn't theirs right? You shrug it off, you didn't even know them anyways; so who are you to judge. You caught the eyes of the prettiest of hazel, the sun’s light shining down on the colour bringing out a little shine to it. Your lips twitch into a smile, as you see the rest of the handsome man that has now caught your attention. His eyebrow quirks up before returning the smile towards you and turning around to his family, catching up with them. You do the same, having to lightly jog to return to the group. A smile remained on your face throughout the rest of the day; which wasn't long as straight after dinner, you pass out on the hotel bed; exhausted by jet-lag and the journey here.
It is like waking up in paradise; the sunshine, the view, the atmosphere. Though you never liked waking up, you got up seeing a text from your younger siblings about the family already at breakfast. You sigh, you seriously thought you were early for once but anyways you begrudgingly cleaned yourself up before exiting your room and heading down for breakfast.
“So we were wondering if we could go?” You hear your younger brother Liam ask, as you get closer to your family.
“Go where?” You ask whilst pulling out a chair joining them, grabbing a plate instantly and getting what you wanted to eat.
“Golfing!” Your youngest sibling Malia, exclaims.
“You have permission to go but Y/n has to go with you two.” Your mother stated causing the pair of teenagers to groan.
“Out of everything you guys choose golf?” You ask after swallowing your mouthful, curious about why they chose what seems to be a boring sport in your opinion.
“You don't even play sport, maybe you should start. Golfs easy enough for you...I think” Liam sasses, causing you to shoot him a glare; your dad sternly calling out his name.
“Maybe I shouldn't go, which means you can't either.” you clap back, poking your tongue out at your brother as he huffs; crossing his arms angrily.
“Please Y/n… I really wanna go play and you gotta step out of your comfort zone. Try something new!” Malia convinces, grasping at your arm and putting on the best puppy eyes she can.
You sigh, you couldn't resist her damn eyes. The younger pair let out a big cheer, high-fiving each other knowing they had won.
“Alright, you two little shits-”
“Language.” Your mum scolded, as you give a little sorry for an apology.
“As I was saying, my two dear siblings; you better be ready before twelve or else I'm leaving your asses.”
“Y/n!” You dad now piping up as you once again apologize but stood up from your chair, ready to head back into your room to have some alone time before having to go out.
“Oh! Before you go, just remember we’re all having lunch at the small restaurant near the golfing range at two-thirty” Your dad informs, you nod putting the information in the back of your head before heading up to your room.
~
After getting ready for golf, you head out of your room at exactly twelve and you turn the corner to see both Liam and Malia standing at the elevator all dressed and ready to go. You roll your eyes at their antics, all of you hopping into the; heading out to the golf course.
The three of you arrive, renting out some clubs and golf balls before heading out to the holes. You’ll admit that when you see others playing golf, it never piqued your interest; actually, you think you've never actually played before after recalling some past memories. Your two younger siblings are smiling ear to ear as we get to hole number one, Malia setting up her shot first. You look around noticing a group of boys on the next hole, you decide staring is rude so you look around the scenery; getting into your own bubble.
“Y/n! Your turn.” Malia shouts, snapping you out of it and gripping the golf club that Liam hands to you.
“If you don't remember, Golf is where you hit the ball into that hole over there. Easy.” Liam instructs but obviously being sarcastic as always.
“Yeah, I got it. Should be easy right?” You say mostly to yourself, you don't even know why you were stressing; it is literally just golf.
“It’s easy, you got this Y/n!” Malia encourages with a bright smile.
You line up your shot, making sure that you'll hit the ball at the right angle to get it somewhat near the hole. Taking a deep breath you swung the club back before swinging it back forward hitting the ball. What you didn't realize was maybe you got your angles wrong, as the ball flew through the air landing right on the head of one of the boys ahead of you. You gasp loudly as Liam and Malia burst into laughter, you instantly start moving to the boy you hit; him now on the ground clutching his head as you see another person probably calling for staff. As you arrive at the group you realize it's the same family from the airport. Your mind could only focus on the fact that you have just hit the most the most attractive man you've ever seen, and you're not even exaggerating.
“I am so sorry!” You apologize, making all their heads turn towards you, but you only look at the injured man as he stood up right in front of you.
“Don't come near me ever again! My dad can sue you for this, not like we need any more money from people like you.” He basically hisses out, fire in his eyes; and if looks could kill, you’d definitely be six feet under in a second.
“People like me? You mean people who aren't spoiled brats?” You fire back, the words just coming out without a thought; not caring about the consequences.
“You want to say that again? Y-”
“Woah, woah, woah. Alright, let's not get violent now. How about we get you to the first aid bay inside Tom.” One of the other men steps in the middle before reaching out to help the injured ‘Tom?’.
“Don't touch me! I can walk myself, it's not like she hit me in the leg.” Tom pushes the blue-eyed boy away but the other two boys swooped in helping him walk.
“But she did hit you in the head, so you could have a concussion dumb-ass.” The curly, red-haired one spoke up as they aid him to walk towards the building.
Your phone pings with a notification from your siblings, saying that they'll continue through all the holes and meet up with you after. You quickly respond to them, hoping they won't misbehave, and you knew you would meet up with them soon. You look up again to see their figures getting smaller in the distance, without realizing the one who stepped in is still next to you.
“I’m sorry ‘bout him. He’s -” He begins to speak but you cut him off.
“Spoiled?”
“Yeah, but I bet he doesn't mean whatever dumb shit comes out of his mouth.” He defends after laughing at your response.
“Yeah, I bet” You sarcastically say, rolling your eyes.
“Seriously, C’mon we’ll go see him in the bay” Blue eyes says before starting to walk in the direction of the building.
“Are you kidding? Like he… I would want to see him again!” You say, a tad loudly for the man to hear; causing him to stop and turn around to face you.
“Well, I think you and him deserve some apologizes,” He says before turning around again, continuing on his journey.
You close your eyes, asking yourself; were you really going to face him again? You called this guy hot in your mind before hitting him with a golf ball and then going off at each other. You sigh, opening your eyes; seeing the man was quite far now before running to catch up to him.
“Glad you could join…”
“Y/n”
“Harrison, that div’s best friend.”
~
As you got to the first aid room, you see the two other boys who helped out heading out of the room.
“We gotta check up on dad, catch up later Haz.” One of them says before the two walk away, obviously to their father.
You are starting to second guess things, he obviously wouldn't want to see you after what you did; so why were you here? Harrison then goes to open the door but before he could push it open, your hand shot out to stop him.
“A-are you sure I should be here?” You ask feeling doubt and like you shouldn't actually go in.
“Seriously Y/n? We’re both going in. Don’t worry about him.” Harrison reassures before opening the door fully this time.
You were behind Harrison, Tom not being able to see you yet as Harrison greets the injured man. Tom is sat on the bed in the bay, the aid had gone off somewhere; so it was just him in the room.
“Oh thank lord you're here Haz. Did you tell that girl to get lost? Seriously as pretty as she was, she hit me in the head.” You hear the trust fund kids voice, wanting to run away and crawl into a hole but at the same time confront him.
He called you pretty but at the same time can't let go of his dick of a personality for one second.
“Not exactly…” Harrison draws out before stepping to the side, showing your figure behind him.
Tom sends a glare to Haz before turning to you, looking you up and down in judgment. You want to cower away from his sight but you needed to stand your ground, you couldn't let this rich, trust fund and handsome man beat you.
“Sorry?” you apologize but it came out more like a question, earning a nudge from Harrison who shot you a glare as well as Tom.
“Seriously? That's all?” Tom questions.
“Well, what do you want me to say? I’ve already apologized so what do you expect?” You ask, words just flowing out from your mind.
“Alright, I’m sorry. For being a div, how ‘bout we talk? You can sit if you'd like” Tom surprisingly nicely suggests.
You give him a weird glance but wouldn't refuse his suggestion, so you went to sit next to him on the bed; space between you two is still substantial.
It started off with awkward small talk before it just clicked. The two of you actually had common interests, sharing jokes that brought tears to your eyes. The two of you were in your own world and didn't realize Haz had walked out the room minutes ago. Harrison walking out the room proud to be the best wing-man for his best mate and wanting a thank you’ from him later
“You know you're actually pretty funny for someone who hit me on the head.” Tom jokes.
“C’mon that was a low blow. Does it still hurt?” You ask, unconsciously moving closer to inspect the bump on his head.
“A bit, it's not bad though,” Tom says as your fingers reach out to slowly graze the injury you had caused.
You hadn't realized how close your faces were until your eyes flicker down to see that there was barely centimeters between the two of you. You feel Toms' hand fall to your hip as your hands slid down to cup his face. The two of you leaning a tad closer, lips brushing against each other. Just as you were about to close the gap, your phone notifications blare through the room causing the two of you to jump apart. You quickly grab out your phone, to see Liam spamming you with messages.
‘Where are you?’
‘We gotta meet for lunch remember?’
‘Or are you too busy getting a restraining order from that dude you hit?’
Your eyes widen as you forgot about the family lunch you had at two-thirty, looking at the time it so happened to be two-twenty.
“Shit!” You say out loud to yourself as you shoot to stand up from your spot.
“What's wrong?” Tom asks, looking at your frantic state.
“I forgot I had something and I really need to go if I don't want to be late.” You inform him, almost taking off.
“How about I give you my number? We could meet up sometime again?” Tom asks almost calmly but on the inside, he was freaking the fuck out; hoping to see you again.
“Yeah, sure” You respond; giving him your phone, obviously you wouldn't turn him down.
After Tom gives your phone back you quickly thank him and without thinking lean in for a kiss on his cheek, before basically darting out of the room with an ‘I’ll text you later!’.
Tom's lips tug into a smile, thinking about how this situation has turned before plopping his head on the weirdly comfortable pillow of the bed.
~
After rushing out of the room, you run to the reception desk; wanting to ask to place an announcement for your siblings but you see them standing at the side leaning against the desk. You let out a breath of relief, walking over to them and ushering them out; not wanting to be late for the family lunch, know mum would kill you.
“So how’d it go with the guy you hit?” Liam teases, obviously not knowing that you had made up.
“Actually good, thank you very much.” You respond as the three of you sped walk to the nearby restaurant.
“Ooo Y/n has a crush on the guy she hit in the head.” Malia joins in with the teasing, a skip in her step now.
“Y/n must've given him a concussion if he has any interest in her.” Liam snarks like he always does, earning a hit on the back of the head by you.
“Shut up and walk faster.”
~
The three of you make it in just in time, you spot your parents already sat at a table and you join them. Just as you were browsing the menu, you hear a loud chatter of people. Glancing up you see the Hollands and Haz, your eyes instantly finding Tom. With the feeling of someone watching him, Tom turns to see Y/n looking straight at him. With a wink of his eye, making a blush crawl up your cheeks the two of you turn away. The waiter comes, making you stutter out an order; making your family look at you weirdly. Your phone lights up with a message from a contact under “Div you hit in the head’
‘Fancy seeing you here love.’ The message read, you smile at it before looking up to see Tom sat at a table near yours; eyes already on you.
“So how was golfing?” Your dad asks, making the younger pair basically jump in their seats.
“It was so fun! I loved it” Malia exclaims in excitement, recalling the events of today in her mind.
“Yeah! It was fun seeing Y/n hit her crush in the head.” Liam exposes as you kick him under the table for the comment.
You didn't say anything back, but you glance up to see the prettiest of eyes and a purple bruise that you caused. Whoops. But you wouldn't change anything that happened today because...
When in Hawaii you gotta try something new and maybe you'll hit something you like.

LCD Golf Games
Somebody, somewhere has to review these things?!
OK, first a little context. While my wife was in hospital waiting for the arrival of our daughter my brain desperately looked for some sort of worry release valve in the long hours between hospital visits. I did what any normal man would in this situation. I set about trying to put together the best damn collection of handheld LCD golf games the world has ever seen! They were mysterious! (nobody was interested enough to discuss them). They were plentiful! (as unwanted gifts often are). They were super cheap! (the sellers could barely give them away). Now, a couple of years later I have a happy and healthy daughter but also, crucially, a box full of assorted unplayed handheld golf games.
…and I’m going to tell you lucky people all about them!
Outside of the Nintendo’s Game and Watch series, LCD handheld games are often disregarded in the world of retro gaming. In a lot of cases this is fully justified; they lack the appealing mini-arcade aesthetic and bright colours of the larger tabletop VFD games, and there’s so much low quality landfill to be found, especially in some of the later licensed efforts from companies like Acclaim and Tiger. Let’s be honest - we only ever played them for want of something better.
Despite this I still find something fascinating about the attempt to create engaging gameplay using such limited technology. LCD games can only display their images in a series of fixed positions, so that’s a pretty severe limitation. This goes doubly for something like showing an 18 hole golf course with a variety of hazards like bunkers and lakes. Yet here are a handful of games that attempt to do just that - recreating your favourite ruined walk with what amounts to a slightly beefed up watch display.
Pro Golf
Bandai / 1985
The first, and earliest of my collection is this effort from Bandai, a well respected and prolific handheld game maker back in the 80’s. Many of these golf games were aimed squarely at the bored executive market, and were therefore often found in plastic-leather slip cases. This one has a nice little ring bound course guide attached, filling in the details that an LCD display can’t. This is definitely the simplest of these games; your only input is to select your club and time the swing. There are no complications like shot positioning, wind direction or the camber of the green to contend with. The courses do have a selection of water hazards and bunkers to avoid. This simplicity really works in the game’s advantage, because there’s a pretty clear relation between what you think should happen and what gets shown on the screen.
All these games seem very similar when it comes to taking a shot, with a single action button. You press the button, you see your little LCD golfer take his swing, you press again (or maybe release) at the end of the up swing to select power, then again when the downswing reaches the ball for accuracy. Between this and club selection there’s enough going on to make this 100 times more engaging than what the majority of arcade style handhelds could offer at the time. It’s also worth noting that all these golf games have a two player mode where each player alternates their shot, adding to the longevity. In a twisted sort of way golf is the perfect subject for the humble handheld!
Despite this I would like to see you have tried to make me choose this over my Astro Wars tabletop back in 1985.
Summing up, there’s enough variety for this to have been a decent time waste on a long train journey (assuming you didn’t hate golf) and the graphics are nice and clear. The sound is just beeps and a crappy tune, but you can switch if off to avoid a riot in the quiet coach. A thumbs up!
World Challenge Golf 2
Bandai / 1991
Here’s another effort from Bandai, and this one is quite a bit more involved. It’s stored in another leatherette slip case …but this time there’s a set of laminated cards provided, with the hole numbers written on each side. One end of each card has a background for the course, with the par and length to the pin, as well as a small map. The other end has the layout of the green, with some arrows showing which way it runs. Before playing each hole you slide these cards into a slot so they show behind the LCD screen, providing scenery ‘graphics’. This is exactly the kind of thing I find very cool about old tech - an ingenious solution to get around the inherent limitations of the LCD handheld. Ignore the fact that the classic Gameboy had already been released by this point and Nintendo’s Golf kicks all of these dedicated handhelds right into the gutter… using laminated cards as the background is awesome, and should be applauded.
Anyway, back to the game, you can now select shot direction, though in a very limited way. You can also see where you ball lies on the small course map, though the 3D view of the course and the swinging golfer are smaller and less detailed than the earlier game. Once you get to the green, you can see the ball position in a top-down view against the background card, and need to adjust for the camber.
Despite my admiration for the sheer ingenuity shown by this game, I have mixed feelings about it. It feels like the designers have bitten off more than they can chew. It is playable, but in trying to provide all the features of a fully fledged computer golf game it only highlights the fact that you’re not playing something better. It’s also significantly less easy to pick up and play than before.
Despite my misgivings, I like this one a lot as a collectible curiosity and it does come the closest to feeling like you’re actually in control of where the ball is going on the course. The sound is still beeps and a crappy tune which can be turned off.
Championship Golf 2
Radio Shack / Tandy / Late 1980’s?
I’ve seen various different re-branded versions of Radio Shack’s Championship Golf, but this one is a larger two screen effort, with individual buttons for club selection. No slip case this time, but it does have a built in screen protector with the course maps in a pouch on the underside. It’s less pocketable than the Bandai games but on the upside it takes AAA batteries, and it feels robust and well built. This one has 2 different 18 hole courses - apparently these are Japan and the USA. You can’t see storks dipping in ornamental koi ponds in Japan or try to nail Trump with a wayward drive in the USA, but the course layouts do change. The left screen shows a top-view of the course, while the right shows the traditional behind-the-golfer view.
You can’t select the shot direction, though your shot can wander into the rough if you mistime your button press on the down stroke. Though the golfer view is slightly lacking in detail, you’re shown exactly where your ball is on the overhead map screen, and this really adds to the playability. There is a wind indicator, but it’s only ever toward you, behind you or calm.
This is a really nice effort, with most of the simplicity of the earlier Bandai game, but with sensible additions to add some extra depth.
The sound is still beeps and a crappy tune which can be turned off.
Tournament Golf
Radica / 1999
This Radica unit has a nice big screen, with lots of detail on the golfer and the course, though I don’t like the plasticy case much - I miss the fake leather and solidity of the earlier games! The swing button is shaped like a golf ball, and is fairly satisfying to press. There are 4 different courses to play though, which is very generous.
The representation of the golfer’s swing is the best yet here, with a large and very clear meter prominent in the bottom right of the screen. This shows power, indicates fade and draw (your shot veering left and right) and gives a power indicator for putting. This game features a really detailed wind effect, with direction and strength. The wind even changes as you wait to take your shot for extra realism. Choosing power and correcting left and right for the effect of the wind should a lot to this game, but the limitations of that LCD display spoil the effect for me. Because there’s no overhead course view it’s quite hard to reconcile what you can see on the screen with what’s happening in the game, and that really matters when you’ve got so many game variables to deal with. It’s also a pig to time a shot when you’re close to the pin without pinging out the other side.
One excellent feature of this game is the sleep mode. There’s no off button, but if you leave it alone for a minute the screen turns off, and you can pick up your game at a later time. This is perfect for gaming on the go.
I’m perhaps being unduly harsh, but this is probably my least favorite so far. Despite the clear graphics and greater complexity it lacks the charm of some of the earlier efforts.
On the up side, this one at least has a digitised swoosh when you hit the ball. You’ll still want to turn it off though…
Talking Golf Master
Systema /1997
On to the final of our selection of games, this effort is from Systema, a well known maker of really average LCD games. This one has a plastic flip cover, with course maps and club distances on the inside. It doesn’t exactly feel premium, sharing that cheap plasticy feel with the Radica game. Worse, the action buttons are recessed little behind the cover, making it slightly awkward and uncomfortable to press them. I figure LCD game designers had given up trying to impress anyone by the mid 90’s.
The game itself is largely OK, with a very basic direction control and simple wind conditions, but the graphics are about as basic as the two screen Radio Shack game, without the benefits that the overhead course screen brought. The sound seems to be a real selling point for Systema, but it’s irritating beyond belief, with constant super loud bleeps punctuating your play. There are some sound samples; a brief compressed second of bird song or occasional encouragement from your caddy. You’re sure to love the attention you get on the bus as he waxes lyrical about how good your hole was.
You can turn it off, and you’ll want to. I’d give this one a miss.
The 19th Hole
At last we’ve come to the end of our review! Back to the clubhouse for a steak pie... I feel like a complete golf casualty now. The games can lie safely in their boxes for another few years. My daughter is sure to love LCD golf time with daddy, no?

Ex-“All I Ever Wanted” Prompt
Rough draft for a scrapped Prompt about Remy and Juandissimo golfing with H.P. and Sanderson, following the return of Remy’s magical memories. This was the “All I Ever Wanted” Prompt until a few weeks ago, when I spontaneously decided to write that piece about Poof and Goldie instead.
This was one of the first few Prompts I ever drafted, so letting go is pretty bittersweet. I think it’s adorable, but I just couldn’t get it to cooperate. Enjoy it for what it is.
95. All I Ever Wanted (Takes place shortly after “Remy Rides Again”)
Autumn of the Frozen Planet
Captive audience. That was why the eleven-year-old loved the rolling golf course behind the Fancy Schmancy Country Club so much. It made them pay attention to him, and to very little else. He could talk, and his words were impossible to avoid. At least, when the listener’s hands were both around the handle of the club. The experience was cathartic. Best of all, it was free. Or the second-best thing to free, anyway- it required just a small amount of his time. Those therapeutic golf sessions were regular occurrences. They were his lifeline.
He remembered missing them. After he’d lost his fairy godparent, he’d spent so many days playing the course alone. Babbling to himself in a language he spoke without hesitation but couldn’t remember learning. Checking his cell phone for stock market updates as he waited for an invisible person to take their turn. And then, when the invisible person didn’t, he always felt foolish. Only to do it again at the next hole. The next. The next.
It all flooded back to him when Juandissimo came home. [Remy reflecting on magic memories and what Juan means to him. Remy holds Juan at a distance. He’s appreciative, but not overly sentimental.]
[Remy has been sitting on the country club steps for about fifteen minutes. He has no idea who is coming, only that he feels like someone is supposed to be- it’s that time of the week, after all. He always waits. Juan is with him, being his usual infinitely patient self despite Remy’s bitterness. He tries to find ways to entertain Remy, who scoffs and rolls his eyes. Suddenly, ping!]
As the scattered, vaguely pixelated cloud of magic faded away, Remy sprang to his feet. “And another thing I hate about my parents-!”
“Dear Rembrandt, I only just got here,” the Head Pixie drawled in his patient, stilted Spanish. “Can this wait until at least the third hole?”
Remy flinched inwardly. Sure, his memories of their past golf games were still hazy, but he knew one thing. H.P. called people by the names they introduced themselves as, or the name they signed their paperwork with, or their surnames if he really didn’t like them. He’d never said ‘Rembrandt’ since the first time Juandissimo had let it slip. No one ever, ever called him by his full first name except Turner’s anti-godfather, and they’d only met at dinner club one time.
“Well! I still have a lot to say. If you don’t want to be here, you don’t have to be. But if you’re going to use the Fancy Schmancy Country Club golf course, you either have to be a member, or be invited in by someone who is. You’re not a member. And forging documents with magic is illegal. So, you have to listen to me if you want to play.”
The Head Pixie lifted one eyebrow. The amount of frustrated Spanish he understood was always up to debate, but the words ‘forging’ and ‘illegal’ he obviously recognized. “Yes, I’m aware of that fact. Very well. Play the hole and continue.”
Remy tossed his red ball into the grass and lined it up with the lower end of his club.
[Remy / H.P. discussion goes here. This discussion lasts the length of the golf game, and mostly revolves around Remy’s opinions on money and family. We glimpse that his mom is an author who is usually in her office not to be disturbed, and she smokes. Implied that she smoked during her pregnancy; couldn’t be bothered to stop for Remy’s health. Remy’s dad has never physically abused him, but Remy is unreasonably skittish around him- when their paths cross in the mansion, Remy hurriedly straightens up and brushes himself down, waiting to be acknowledged by his father, but his dad passes with barely a glance- if he even glances at him at all.]
[Remy’s attitude towards his parents at age 9 can best be described as “heartbroken” which transitions into bitter once Juan comes into his life. Only when Juan gives him affection does Remy realize how unfair it is his parents never do, and he begins resenting kids who have happy families.]
[Remy’s parents barely tolerate each other; his dad is sex-repulsed, has no sex drive whatsoever, and no sympathy for his wife’s high sex drive. Remy doesn’t know, but his mom actually had him with his dad’s twin. During Remy’s rant, Juan becomes more and more agitated as Remy describes his parents, especially his mom. Juan seems to have an unreasonable amount of resentment towards Seneca. Most of it stems from the fact that she decided to keep Remy but doesn’t care about him; Seneca had her affair with Oliver in an attempt to make Bennett jealous, and those two are twins so she tried to believe she was having Remy with her husband.]
[Juan is personally offended that Seneca takes her ability to bear children lightly, as he cannot have kids (pre-Poof). His own dad was sterile until genie magic gave him the ability to have Juan; Juan technically doesn’t have a mother since he was created out of genie magic and never knew her, and family is important to him. He doesn’t begrudge Bennett for Remy’s misery as much as Seneca, since Bennett technically played no part in Remy’s existence. Juan knows Remy’s true parents, though Remy will go his entire life without finding out. No point in telling him his biological dad is a jerk too.]
[Juan’s dream is to marry / have kids. I see Juan as this huge flirt who’s super charming, honest, sweet, and caring. He’s that sexy guy everyone thinks is into flings, but he subverts the trope by wanting commitment; he’d never kiss someone he doesn’t see himself having a future with. His dream contrasts Remy’s dream to never marry. Juan’s “mom” genie is probably Crimsona’s ancestor, meaning both sides of Gary’s family have connection to the name.
NOTE: Juan’s obsession with Wanda comes from his clingy personality, NOT because his subspecies is lifelong monogamous. He can’t move on because HE is choosing not to. Biology has nothing to do with it and should never be viewed as a possible excuse for his behavior. He’s just a clingy person.]
[As the golf game goes on, Juan and Sanderson are constantly circling each other, silently defending their respective charges. Remy isn’t aware, but Juan is fighting the influence of pheromones and Sanderson is getting his kicks out of deliberately “teasing” him. Sanderson is the alpha and Juan is gritting his teeth trying not to be lured from Remy’s side to H.P.’s.]
[Basically stuff goes on in background while Remy and H.P. talk. Remy gets increasingly frustrated as he rants about the general unfairness of his life.]
“Remy, I can’t understand you when you speak that fast.”
“My parents hate me,” Remy muttered back, slipping into English again.
“They don’t hate you. Probably. They might. It’s showing emotions that they hate.”
“What do you know about love?” he snapped.
“Very little,” H.P. admitted breezily. “Pixies are incapable of it.”
“[Spanish]”
The Head Pixie turned his head towards Juandissimo. “I didn’t catch that last part.”
“He said he wishes to live without marriage as he cannot trust humans,” the fairy translated.
“Good.”
[Remy continues to rant through the next hole until H.P. interrupts him.]
“Are you sure about that?”
The Head Pixie rarely expressed any interest in Remy’s ranting. So that little comment actually made him turn around.
[Convo transitions to H.P. pointing out that Remy seems attached to Juan, so clearly Remy does have a caring parental figure. Juan glows with praise, until H.P. muses aloud that Juan might be faking affection in order to keep his godparenting job.]
[Juan is miffed by this comment since he literally kicked butt in Fairy Court for Remy, but he’s so flustered he can hardly speak. Sanderson quietly moves between Juan and H.P., and pheromones shut Juan down from furious to moping, though that’s glossed over since we’re in Remy’s POV. Remy probably doesn’t know Juan’s past yet b/c we’re pre-murder mystery story. Juan unhappily lets the issue drop, and Remy pushes convo forward.]
“Wait,” Remy said. “You mean… You knew? That Juandissimo broke the rules to get my memory back?”
The Head Pixie swung his club. The ball bounced off a rock, the fountain, and shattered a window. Sanderson lifted his phone and pinged the ball back to the course. “Another hole in one, sir.”
“It’s my job to know who breaks the rules,” he said finally.
“Isn’t it against the rules for your lackey to cheat the game for you?”
The two pixies exchanged sideways glances. H.P. tugged at his tie. “Not in a casual game when the score doesn’t matter.”
“I thought this was how you played,” Sanderson said, still in monotone. Remy squinted, unable to decide if the statement was actually a question and pixies couldn’t tilt their voices up that way at the end, or if Sanderson was being completely serious.
[More convo? Golf in silence?]
The ball stopped a solid two feet from the tunnel. Sanderson lifted his phone, but H.P. made a motion for him not to mess with it. He’d play it where it lay, evidently. Remy’s swipe landed nearby. As the Head Pixie trailed down to putt the ball through the tunnel, Remy looked up at the pixie who lingered behind. “Do you understand what that’s like, Sanderson? To have parents who wouldn’t notice if you went off and died somewhere in the backyard?”
Sanderson tilted his head. “No. I don’t.”
“I would notice if you did that,” Juandissimo put in, poking his head out from behind Sanderson’s wings.
“Then I am not talking about you.”
[Golf game wraps up. Juan’s nerves are wound tight by this point.]
The Head Pixie pinged away his club and ball and held out his hand for a shake. “That was a very good game, Remy. I’d wondered if your skills would slip during that time when our sessions were postponed, but I can see you’re still improving tremendously.”
“Thanks. What do you think I should do?”
“Keep your back straight, bend lower, and keep your legs spread apart.”
“I meant about the situation with my parents,” Remy said, irritated but not surprised that he had to bring the topic back up.
The Head Pixie blinked. “I have no idea. That’s not my problem.”

Aces are Wild at Rumbling Bald
Golfer Overcomes Astronomical Odds at Apple Valley for Back-to-Back Holes-in-One The stats are mind-blowing. Every year, around 450 million rounds of golf are played in the U.S. Doing the math, that’s about 25,000 to 30,000 rounds per course. According to the PGA of America, methods report 10-15 aces annually for a pace of one hole-in-one per 3,500 rounds. On average, golfers play this fantastic game for 24 years before celebrating their first hole-in-one. Less than two percent of all golfers card a “1” each year, and 50 percent of those golfers are age 59 and under. The average handicap for those buying everyone a round of drinks at the 19th hole is 14. Better to be lucky than good, as they say. So, what are the chances that an 80-year-old golfer records back-to-back holes-in-one during one round on the same golf course? Approximately one in 67 million. Yes, you are more likely to be struck by lightning twice in your life than to card two consecutive aces. But believe it or not, that’s precisely what happened at Rumbling Bald’s Apple Valley course on Sunday, July 24, 2022. Paul Huber stepped to the tee on the par-3 third hole of our award-winning Dan Maples-designed layout. He pulled his PING 9-iron from his golf bag and took dead aim from 118 yards away. A crisp “thwack” ensued, and a few seconds later, the ball disappeared into the hole. An extended celebration was quickly underway with his playing partners – Kent Dyer, Rob Phillips, and Gary Romaine. Then, what happened next, has quickly become the stuff of legend around Rumbling Bald and Lake Lure. Just a few minutes later, at the par-3 eighth hole, Huber again stepped to the tee, cracked a half-baked quip about making another ace, and proceeded to make another hole-in-one with his 5-hybrid from 148 yards out. Dyer, Phillips, and Romaine had witnessed a “black swan” event few other golfers had ever seen. The last time it happened on the PGA TOUR was at the Barclays at Plainfield Country Club in Edison, N.J., at the hands of Brian Harmon. Harmon made social media waves by famously posing for a photo holding two aces from a deck of cards. It was a particular Sunday at Rumbling Bald, a story that will stand the test of time. And as the buzz made its way around both golf courses, many celebratory drinks were consumed at Huber’s expense! Read the full article

Theory time: Was Megami Saikou abused?
Warning: This is one of my ‘darker’ theories; Though not graphic, this theory contains very sensitive material that may be upsetting to some of my followers. Upsetting my followers is not my intent. Therefore, please do not read if the topic of abuse bothers you. I will also be opening up a bit about my feelings regarding my experience to help support my theory. Thank you!
Yandere simulator is no stranger to dark themes. At its core, It contains many elements of horror and it continues to become more gruesome as development continues. (Not that I am complaining. ;))
The player, who plays as Ayano Aishi, has the ability to murder almost any classmate of her choosing. You can also dismember their corpses, burn their bodies in the incinerator, or bury them in the garden. Another option is to kidnap and psychologically torture a student to the point where they will murder another for you. It is also possible that we will have the Yakuza implemented into the game; in the video about this hypothetical feature, though we will not physically see it and instead receive a cryptic hint via text message, the fates discussed involved kidnapping, organ harvesting, and human trafficking.
It was initially implied that Kokona Haruka was abused by her father when he was drunk, only to be revealed that he cries about his debt. With a game as dark as this, the possibility of a character with a background of abuse cannot be ruled out.
Could Megami really be a victim of abuse? I think that this is a fairly large possibility. As a writer and a gamer for over two decades, I have learned that no matter how strong or untouchable the character may seem to be, they ALWAYS have a weakness.
In the second video regarding the student council in yandere simulator, YandereDev mentioned the rumors that surrounded each student. When Megami was spoken about, he stated the following:
"After Megami became the student council president, a lot of students applied to become part of the student council. However, the only candidates that were accepted were female. This led to rumors that Megami hated men, or feared men, or simply distrusted men. As with all the other rumors surrounding the student council, nothing has been confirmed."
This video can be taken a couple of ways. YandereDev could simply be throwing us all off and steering us away from the student council's real motives. Or.... There could be at least a partial truth to all of these rumors.
When I was 7 years old, I was molested by my cousin three times. After this, I had a fear of teenage boys until i was a teenager myself. While my friends were dishing about cute boys while they were playing with makeup, I just simply sat there and said nothing. I found crushes repulsive at the time. Some could view this as shyness... But I really was afraid. I thought all teenagers were like him. I never received any justice for what he did... In fact, I've gotten the displeasure of taking his order twice at work.
Megami, on the other hand, reportedly has very formal relationships with her family. She endures constant pressure as a result of her inevitable future with Saikou corporation. (Please see the block quote below.) Due to the obvious publicity that she and her family must have, It would not surprise me if Megami's abuse was swept under the rug for the sake of their image. We see scandals like this all the time in the news. It is, very sadly, a common occurrence.
Megami and family also reminds me of Rose DeWitt Bukater from the film, Titanic. Rose lived a life of luxury with her mother and fiance, yet her happiness was never taken into consideration. She would try to live a little normal for a 17 year old by drinking and dancing with the third class and trying to smoke a cigarette. And guess what? Her fiance was abusive!
If this hectic life is all Megami is used to, of course she would be dying to live a normal life. Maybe this is her "dilemma." She wants to escape the abuse, or the reminder of the abuse.
Attached below is the daily routine that YandereDev imagines for Megami in the nine weeks prior to her debut in the game. I will highlight certain parts that makes me question if abuse is the case:
"I've been imagining her living on a cruise ship this entire time.
"Every day, immediately after she wakes up, she is asked a series of difficult questions by an attendant. These questions are related to the difficulties of running a business and managing a company. The purpose of these questions first thing in the morning is to measure her ability to make tough calls even when she's not prepared or at full mental capacity. Afterwards, she is told what choices her predecessors made when faces with the same decisions.
"Then, she is served a meal designed to be as healthy and nutritious as possible (without regard for how it tastes). As she eats, she is briefed on recent decisions made by Saikou's current CEO, the status of Saikou's stocks, the recent public perception of Saikou, the performance of Saikou's newest products, and the current operations of Saikou's competitors.
"When she is finished eating, she sits at her laptop and addresses the duties of a Student Council President; she responds to concerns from teachers, gives instructions to her subordinates in the student council, hears about anything "tragic" that happened the previous day at school, etc. After this, she "attends class" by accessing the webcam of the laptop that sits on her desk in class 2-2. She asks the teacher questions, answers the teacher's questions, and generally participates in class like a normal student, just without a physical presence. She even "stands and bows" at the beginning of class. Usually, the material that is being taught to her is something she learned years ago, and she is often bored and busying herself by reading more advanced material while class is going on.
"During the time of day when the students of Akademi leave class for physical education, Megami jogs around the deck of the cruise ship and performs various other exercises as recommended by a personal coach. The deck of the cruise ship is large enough to provide her with enough space to perform a variety of sports, such as basketball, mini-golf, volleyball, ping-pong, boxing, croquet, and, of course, swimming. Because there are no other students with her onboard the ship, Megami competes with various attendants, who are ordered to not hold back against her in competitions despite their difference in age. Although this is the only time Megami does anything that a normal person might consider "fun", Megami finds very little enjoyment in doing sports aboard the cruise ship, because "There are no high stakes to make things interesting." She has suggested that the loser of a match should be punished by being tossed overboard and having to climb back up onto the deck of the ship without assistance, but her father forbade it.
"To simulate the experience of "cleaning time", Megami mops the deck of the cruise ship herself during the point in time when her classmates are cleaning the school after classes end. During the time when most students would be enjoying club activities, Megami is once again performing student council duties, often for hours at a time. After the time of day when the school closes, Megami undergoes self-defense training from one of Japan's top martial artists.
"In the time remaining in the day before it ends, Megami undergoes a "CEO Simulation" where she roleplays in various scenarios as if she was the CEO of Saikou, and had to handle all of his responsibilities. These simulations are often based on the CEO's actual experiences in the previous day, but often made more difficult with additional complications so that Megami has to go through harder situations than her father actually did.
"Megami goes to bed at a very strict time in order to be well-rested for the next day, especially for the barrage of questions she'll face in the morning. At the end of the day, before bedtime, Megami must report to her father and tell him about her day. In every one of these conversations, she begs to return to Akademi, but her father rejects her proposal. Each conversation is more intense than the last - "I'll jump overboard and swim to Akademi if I have to!" but her pleas are always ignored...until Week 10, that is.
