I learned about Grim "Message" from a Bandcamp follow. Back in the 1980s Japanese noise savant Jun Konagaya created a Grim following the demise of his band White Hospital. Most of Grim's work sounds like what you might expect from a Japanese noise artist. And then there is this gem EP, "Message". Clearly an outlier, it sounds more like a psych folk/acid folk/pop songs.

The result is an album of light, wispy music that reminds one of Syd Barrett, Ed Askew or MGMT. The Bandcamp page also mentions Daniel Johnston, Sebadoh and Tenniscoats.

Italian label Urishima is responsible for this reissue that includes a remix of each song; these remixes have much more of the noise you might have been expecting.
