What is your favorite Zelda game?? Fresh off the Hylian drawing board - @nic_the_pixie and I are breaking pots and slashing the tall grass once again with a brand new pinup inspired by her Link cosplay. I am a life-long fan of Zelda going wayyyy back to the og game, Zelda 2, Link to the Past, and on up to Breath of the Wild. So this one was particularly exciting to work on. Plus, c’mon.. Miss Bettie Page’s birthday was on 4/22! Happy Birthday to her. And I wanted to share the very first pinup I ever did - based on her - nearly 5 years ago this June. Although I had been drawing and working with markers for my whole life before this, I really struggled to put this one to paper. It’s one thing to draw super heroes or cartoon characters. Drawing one of the most famous pinup girls of all time is nothing short of intimidating — especially when the predominant feeling of your own lack of understanding of the art form is immediately evident. But this humble drawing set me on a journey of artistic discovery toward striking balance between beauty, sex appeal, and breaking it all down in a way of caricature without being grotesque. That’s just a lot of words that really just mean I love that I discovered my love for drawing pinups and I’m glad some of you dig it too. I’ve got Bettie here to thank for that.
