For the WIP game: either one of the Sharpe fics or the Boromir fic! (or both? we can have both?) <3
Okay @thiswaycomessomethingwicked, be prepared for a long-winded answer. Here's what I've got as far as undeveloped ideas:
Sharpe:
1. There is a woman officer in the British Army. How? I'm not sure, I haven't exactly figured that out, but she's a woman, she's bisexual, and she's a badass. The story consists of her going on a mission with Sharpe and the conflict between the two as Sharpe battles with his desire to protect her and his knowledge that she's his equal and doesn't require his coddling. Of course, they end up in love because both of them are idiots.
2. A woman has disguised herself as a man in the British Army. She gets placed in the 95th Rifles as one of the Chosen Men. The main storyline revolves around her participation in the battles, her consistent efforts to remain hidden, and Sharpe's terror once he finds out that she's a woman. It's a very Mulan-esque story.
3 (?). I have a story about four polyamorous lesbian assassins. I think it's set in the Napoleonic war and I initially set it in the Sharpe universe, but I'm not certain if I want to develop it outside of that realm so that I can make it original. Hence the question mark. Regardless, I love those girls very much and it's a really interesting idea--I might set it in the Sharpe universe for convenience' sake.
Okay, now for Boromir. I've had this story idea for close to a year now. The basic idea is wondering how things would have changed in FotR if Boromir had someone with him who loved him and cared deeply for him.
The story begins approximately three years before the Council of Elrond. A Half-Elf woman named Killen (or something like that, I may change the name) is a seasoned Traveler who wanders about MIddle-Earth pursuing knowledge and cultural enrichment. Just south of the Sea of Rh没n, she encounters a wandering Orc pack that subdues her and takes her to Mordor. Since she is a Traveler and is close friends with some of the more prominent figures in Middle-Earth (i.e. Elrond, Gandalf, the Guardian of the Earth, Zalzaena ((an OC)), and leaders in the North), they decide to interrogate her for information about these leaders and their lands. After years, she manages to escape and is found near Osgiliath by Boromir, half-dead. She returns to Minas Tirith with him and a friendship begins to blossom, despite the chaos of the War raging around them. Through a series of unfortunate events, she has to leave Minas Tirith and reunites with Boromir at the Council of Elrond. Of course, she joins the Fellowship and travels with them, seeing as she knows Mordor better than anyone who is not allied with Sauron. During their journey, she helps Boromir with his growing madness, having watched the same sort of sickness drive his father deeper into a bitter rage during her time in Gondor. Does Boromir still die? I'm not certain, but of course, there's still a lot to be developed.
Thanks so much for asking, friend! I hope this has quite thoroughly answered your question, if not in too much detail. If you have any more inquiries, please let me know! I have a huge issue with writing because of my ADHD, but I would love to start them if someone is interested in reading them.
Much love,
Your Simp
