This illustration (left) of a Monachus Piscis is from Pierre Belon's 1553 edition of De Aquatilibus, a book of animals that live in and near the water. This "sea monk," based on Norwegian eyewitness accounts, was later thought to be a giant squid.

Sea Monk

In 1546, the Sea Monk/Sea Bishop was found off of the coast of New Zealand. Their name stems from the fact that they look like a monk, and in some cases, was thought to be a merman. The creature is mentioned in a lot of art and literary works. Recent studies have suggested that it is instead an angel shark.

The Sea Monk, or sometimes Sea Bishop, was the name given to a sea animal found off the eastern coast of the Danish island of Zealand in 1546. It has also been sighted by two fishermen and some nearby swimmers in Pula, Croatia in the year 2011 and is one of the more popular sightings of the cryptid in the Adriatic sea. It was described as a "fish" that looked superficially like a monk. It was mentioned and pictured in the fourth volume of Conrad Gesner's famous Historia Animalium. Gesner also referenced a similar monster found in the Firth of Forth, according to Boethius, and a sighting off the coast of Poland in 1531. The sea monk was subsequently popularized in Guillaume du Bartas's epic poem La Sepmaine; ou, Creation du monde, where the poet speaks of correspondences between land and sea. Lol you I don’t care about that. People talk more about lgbt ships more all the time to humor the fans. Kerr/y & the crew also likes & talks about seamonk/eys& pretty sure that isn’t happening.

notice how the crew never talk about the canon hetero ships during commentaries or panels for any show? You want to know why because they know they’re not well liked if they interfere with popular lgbt ships. & during the commentary they say they throw in ship stuff so shippers don’t get upset.

Okay this is the last time I’m gonna humour you with a serious response but honestly this is just hilarious so I’m gonna have fun with all this bullshit to unpack.

You do realise that most B/umbleby shippers, myself included, also really like A/rkos and R/enora a.k.a. the canon straight ships, right? And that Nora’s VA talks about how much she likes R/enora and how she wants them to get married and settle down with kids and stuff? But sure, no one at RT ever discusses the canon ships that the LGBT+ fans often like because they’re worried about upsetting the LGBT+fans.

Also note that literally all LGBT+ fans would rather no one involved in a show hyped an LGBT+ ship that wasn’t going to happen than hype it and then not go through with it because no one wants to be lied to and baited with false promises. But sure, they would make an LGBT+ ship seem certain to happen in and out of the show and then flip to something else instead because that makes total business sense.

S/eamonkeys is flat out the absolute worst and most laughable example you could try to use here because maybe you don’t have enough braincells to comprehend it but let’s see. S/eamonkeys has never had a Valentine’s Day card with other canon RT ships. S/eamonkeys has never had one of the VAs say that people like it because “it was written that way”. S/eamonkeys has never had one of the VAs say that “it feels like they’re realising they have feelings for each other” and that they asked the writers if what they wanted was happening to make sure they weren’t baiting people.

All S/eamonkeys has is people at RT saying they like it as a ship and never hinting it might be canon, the same as B/lacksun, except B/lacksun doesn’t even have as many fans at RT as S/eamonkeys and even Sun’s own VA wants Sun to get with Neptune (“after B/lacksun fails” to quote his own words) lmfao.

Anyway your delusions are rapidly turning from amusingly pathetic and desperate to making me lose all faith in humanity because of how unbelievably stupid they are so goodbye for about the tenth time, my incompetent and braindead stalker.
