What jewelry do kyhuines and maanuls have?

and what jewelry do humans have? many various ones that are influenced by the environment, history in terms of current fashion, current movements, beliefs and etc... same goes for them! but aside from the boring answer:

pre-alp traverse traditional jewlery by maanuls might share a common theme of being centered around the sea despite the various cultures, because maanuls lifestyle and everything they need revolve around the sea. People live near it, people live in structures at shores or in the sea, people may be part of sea-fearing ethnic groups who spend their lives out there on boats. some seafearing communities are more stationary than others but the life on a boat remains. Pre-alp traverse and first contact with kyhuines, maanuls lives depended on the oceans only. and it reflects in their art forms and folklore a lot. which include jewelry, from literal depictions of an animal from the shore to just more vague imagery, or usage of shells, the ocean can be found through many pieces of jewelry across the globe.

earings are very common among maanuls, the triangle skin hoods over their ears can be pierced. Although that defeats their purpose of blocking water once flattened against their temples, not that it was efficient at its job to begin with either way, so it's not a big loss of functionality in the end. Much like human lobes they have to be careful with the weight of their earrings. Because they can always risk having it slowly rip because of gravity. I guess for them it might take longer. Since gravity is lower its not pulling on it as hard as it is on earth. And the pierced ear hole sits on top of a cartilage ridge.

piercings? yes, maanuls are half made out of skin, and piercings are plausible on many parts of the body. Such as the face, but piercings on the face are restricted to certain areas, and all of them are temporary. They're surface piercings and they'll come out rather fast because facial muscles are constricted a lot in maanuls for facial expressions to communicate. just like how a bridge piercing in humans don't last long because we move our eyebrows constantly.

The "nose" isn't an area they can pierce, the skin there is rather tight against the structure, its hard to pull any for a surface type. Piercing through it is quite horrible and will in almost every case end up in a bloody injury. Sometimes leading to an infection too. Its literally a cartilage hell with so many blood vessels hanging around. also, this is a sensory organ they use for facial interaction with one another, so they rather have it "untouched". And the nose is never pierced successfully. Then the person with it will be seen as a masochistic. A "nose" piercing for them wouldn't look like a hoop passing through it, but more so probably a curved bar inside the structure, with each side of the nose protruding with a little piece of jewelry.

traditional kyhuine jewelry dating before the alp traverse and first contact with maanuls, does not have an overarching theme like maanuls does. Their lives do not revolve around one big thing, as kyhuines as a whole can live in incredibly diverse biomes from each other, think of the biome variety found in SWANA. if you know you know then. However, things such a jewelry based on bugs (domesticated species or not) can be a common recurring thing because of how bugs are a big part of their diet + they have many domesticated species. Some domesticated themselves because kyhuines let them in their homes for various reasons.

pierced ears in kyhuines? its impossible to find. why? because kyhuines do not have external ears. what they have on their head is just some sort of "plumicorn", identical to what prairie chickens have. just growing at a different angle. The plumicorns in kyhuines are raised up for the neutral expression all the time. If you plucked a kyhuine their heads would be smooth, and you'd find the ear holes near the eyes. If you find old art on my blog with kyhuines having earrings that's just me being indicative of what I wanted. But yeah, in conclusion, no earrings for kyhuines can be found.

piercings in kyhuines are rare because they're covered in feathers everywhere apart from the pelvis, gular sack, around eyes and snout end, and keel. and only the facial skin can be piercable, mainly piercing under the eyes by pulling the extra saggy skin if there's enough. they last longer than they do with maanuls, because kyhuine facial muscles are stiffer. they emote emotions via opening their mouths, tahofah fans, sounds, inflating gular sack, and piloting/ flattening their plumicorns. not a lot of contracting facial muscle is involved in it. I'd say they're much more common in plateau/mountain flank groups, where the dulls have wattles under their eyes. Its just extra skin that can receive piercings or minimal dot tattoos. one of the few ethnicities to be able to do tattooing because of this extra skin bit

i do not think they could pierce their gular sack safely, perhaps if the jewelry in the pierced hole is flexible? after all pierced holes will close back. But i don't know about this one yet.

necklaces usually are lose enough that they hang under the gular sac area, just to be safe and not break it if they inflate it for whatever reason. although necklaces that are several decorative hard pieces on a stretchable threat where it can widen in case the person inflates their sac is also a thing. but the first option is the most popular and spread out. Plus, several ethnic groups will consider it indecent to have a gular sack exposed, leading to covering it with tight necklaces, or much more commonly just tissue. as its more convenient and can be a part of a larger piece of cloth.

in mierthri kyhuines, jewelry is considered as clothing for them. average conception of clothes as in like sewed tissue together is a no for them. as it might weigh them down and restrict movement during gliding. if they wear clothes its super minimal and most of them just do not wear anything for convenience, and when they do its 1 piece where they just have to slide their head in, the sides are cut so they dont restrict any arm movement. And even then, these clothes are mainly used for events only and not as a day-to-day thing. although exceptions can be seen in kaar'kchir immigrant mierthri communities. Not because they're forced to, but because of cultural exchange and cultures evolving and merging together.

the jewlery in mierthri kyhuines is either at their necks as a necklace or ankles as a ring or band. ribbons are used too, even if they're cloth are still a decorative items that for mierthri kyhuines count as a full piece of clothing. ribbons are attached to the ankle of the end of their tail. when they fly around gliding, the ribbon, or necklace, ankle jewlery are mainly used for quick identification in the community. for example, spotting a paramedic.

after the traverse of the Alps and first contact between the two cousin species, many cultures merge through immigration and create new ones, many communities become of mixed species, and people bring their cultures where they go. which will include the jewelry! and it will evolve, its adapted into new etnic groups or modified to be more in the taste of the people living here, new fashion movements get created and so on with variants like this.

Stormwind 100% Like they probably cant flavor anything they make... Gilneas would be up there too but they are also wolf monsters so you KNOW the meats are just excellent and they were hanging out w the Night elves for a while so they probably learned how to spice things up.

Kul Tiras is also close but bc they are seafearers they probably trade a lot for all kinds of ingredients so its probably fine.

This is the first page of a new diary! How exciting is that?

I've decided to start you because I am going on a magical trip! Yes, my dear diary, I'm going to a place I've only ever dreamed about going: Paris!

Yes Yes, it is cliche by now, but, I've always dreamed of walking their streets and sitting by their gorgeous coffee shops! I can't wait to embark tomorrow morning!

Dear diary,

I've finally embarked on a magnificent vessel called "The Seafearer", not particularly creative but very beautiful! It has this vintage aura that I absolutely adore! It will drop me off in London in 8 days, so we should arrive in the 29th.

My dear diary you have no ideia of how much I dreamed of this day! My mother isn't the happiest when it comes to my travels, and is certainly not fine with me going to Europe alone, but that never stopped me before.

Today I've had my dinner in my room, as I was felling terribly sick. The crew seems very comfortable in the ship and absolutely okay with giving everyone the best treatment!

Dear diary,

I wasn't made for the sea. Today it wasn't in great condition and even a mighty vessel like this one can't stay stable forever! I've been terribly sick since the day I embarked, but today has been one of the worst! One of the crew mates, a lovely woman called Alex came bring me my food, she seemed concerned of my position and promised me to bring some medicine that she has from when she was starting out. I really hope to see her again

Dear diary,

Today has been a strange day. Late at night Alex came by to give me her medicine and we chatted a little, she is from New York and got this job less than two months ago! She was very sweet and brought me tea.

I've been in my cabin for most of the day today and I've been hearing a lot of movement about. Alex's medicine worked wonders and I've decided to go to the dining hall, Alex was quick to accept my invitation to dine with me. I really do hope this goes well.

Dear diary,

We've officially reached the mid point in our journey! But that is not what I'm happiest about! Last night was one of wonders, Alex was really beautiful during dinner and stayed long into the night with me in my cabin. I've tried painting a portrait of her, but the movement of the ship was very distracting.

Some of the crew have been asking around about an old lady that was using a cabin a floor below mine, she appears to not be answering her door. I don't have the full story, but I do belive it is nothing.

Alex has agreed to take me to see the captain, she seemed very nervous about it though.

Dear diary,

Today I've talked with the captain. I've been aghast for the past few hours because he is Alex's father! Yes! He seemed to have some distrust about me, but was very lively! He has sailed around the world and told countless stories about his travels. He told me he loved Australia and wanted to stay there after he retired, which was why he was training Alex to take his place. We agreed to have dinner in his cabin tonight.

The old lady is still not answering her door, the crew hasn't breaked in yet, but it seems they need to do so.

Dear diary,

My dinner with the captain was cut short with the terrible news that Miss Lovejoy has been murdered in her cabin. She was traveling with her husband, who stayed in another cabin.

I've decided to keep my nose out of this story, but I'm afraid that dear Alex has not. She has been informing me of the events and agreed to stay with me tonight to calm my nerves.

The captain has told everyone that we will have a delay to dock in London, it appears that we must await an American police ship to continue.

28 of January

We've been stopped for 12 hours now. It appears there is a detective aboard that is working to solve the case. Alex has been detained to her quarters for the time being, however, I was given the captain's permission to stay with her.

It has been 14 hours since we stopped the boat, it is 9 in the afternoon and dinner has been served. The detective seen to be using the dining hall, so all of those who are not involved are having dinner in their quarters. Some people have gathered in one of the bigger rooms to dine together, but I've not joined them and stayed with Alex.

Now it is 11 in the afternoon and the detective barged in my room without warning an hour ago. He belived I was associated with the murder and told me to stay in the dining hall. Alex has defended me and insisted to stay with me while I am in here.

The detective is rude and has not shown any sign of chivalry. His name is John.

29 of January

Dear diary,

The captain came see me today in this treacherous dinning hall. Not including me and Alex there is 4 other people here, the detective seems certain that the murderer is in this room, which is ridiculous! From what I've been introduced they are: the husband, whose name is Patrick, the butler, whose name is Connor, there is a lady, whose name is Lucia and an unemployed, whose name is Lucius, none of them appear to be the vicious murderer that John is inclined to describe.

The captain wanted to talk about the most different matters, but he was rudely interrupted by John and Patrick every other phrase. They wanted to talk to him about the ship and its design and how "the murderer has to have escaped somewhere".

Dear diary,

Hoje foi um dia bastante cansativo. O detetive não tem me deixado em paz por nem um segundo a manhã inteira e está agora olhando sobre meu ombro enquanto escrevo! Não quero que ele leia então escrevo em língua que ele não entende. Alex teve de me deixar por hoje para ir trabalhar, mas ela deve voltar pelo menos até as 4 para tomarmos chá juntas.

John has finally left me alone, so I can finally write in a language I am more confortable with. Who got John's attention was Lucia who only now told everyone she was Lucius's Sister. I've not payed attention as it was tea time and Alex was with me, but John appears to be certain that that is a clue.

Alex is certainly frustratred with being stopped in the middle of the ocean, I asked if she wanted to lay for a bit in my bed, which she gladly took the opportunity to.

Dear diary,

Last night was most wonderful. Alex agreed with accompanying me to Paris and we had a wonderful late night. It came morning and John barged in my room again, he was so distressed with my disappearance that he didn't notice Alex under my sheets, but he urged me to come back to the dining hall. The crew appears to have pitied us because breakfast and lunch was very luxurious. Patrick seems to have took a liking to me, he sat next to me and we had a good talk for longer than an hour about the most diverse things. He was owner of a very big company and had traveled the world with his wife, which he lamented the death of for a long time.

One thing that is certainly of note of Patrick is his outfit, I've been paying close attention and he appears to love using the most diverse of suits, today he is wearing a yellow tunic.

In the afternoon Alex came for tea time, but said she couldn't come for dinner because she would be extremely busy.

Dear diary,

John has been very insistent on talking to me, but I've been ignoring him.  During breakfast I had the opportunity to talk with Lucia and Lucius. They are brother and sister from New York and they have a some family trauma but are really interesting to talk to! Lucia married a wealthy man that was almost always working, so she has been using his money to travel. This is her first time leaving the USA, she said she really wants to go to Germany, but agreed to go with me and Alex to Paris for a day. Lucius, on the other hand, has been trying to contact his sister for a long time, but she never responded, so he found out where she would travel next and booked a cabin. He doesn't really like to travel and said to me really longs for a partner he left at home, the sister appears to be super embarrassed about her brother's partner, but he seemed to not care.

At lunch I talked with Patrick again, he seemed really sad, so I gave him a pep talk and talked a lot with him. He said he loved Europe, and he was actually going to the wedding of Connor's daughter! Connor overheard us and came over to talk for a bit. Connor is from London, but had been working with Patrick for almost 20 years now, he said he fell in love with an actress and got married with her, so he left Patrick's side and had a daughter that he only left when Miss Lovejoy got sick and required constant attention.

The captain came in today during tea, he apologized to me that Alex wouldn't be able to come, but said he wanted to talk for a bit, so we had tea together. He talked a lot about Alex's childhood and how she was like her mother, he said that he was almost never home, but he always made sure that he would be there for her birthday, and said that he was profoundly proud of her, but was a little sad that she was not married yet.

During dinner Alex came, we had a very lovely time talking about my childhood and a even more lovely time when Patrick started to play the violin! He is amazing at playing the violin and the only one who was not enjoying the show was John. Alex said goodbye to me with a kiss even though I asked her not do so.

Dear diary,

Today was very uneventful, I sat alone at breakfast and during lunch John tried starting a conversation with me, I shut him down quickly. During tea John tried again and during dinner I gave him a chance.

He talked about how he was very lonely and how he wasn't married, he said he was from California, but lived in New York most of his life. He is a private detective and boasted a lot about how he solved even the most difficult of cases. He seemed weirdly inclined to get closer to me, but I was always quick to shut it down until he put his hand in my tight while talking about how he wanted to get married to a young woman, Lucius saw that and interfered to Lucia's dismay. Lucius defended me bravely but was quickly dismissed by the detective. I got very upset and left the hall to go to my room. Alex found me some time later and we talked for a bit before going to bed.

Today was dreadfull. John thought that the best way to apologize was to try and kiss me, I quickly shut him down with a slap. He tried talking with me during the whole day, which drove away most of the people in the hall, even Alex. As such, I spent the day entirely alone.

4 of February

Today is the day the police get on-board. During breakfast the captain called me to his quarters. He appeared to be very aggited and asked me repeatedly to take care of Alex, apparently she told him that she would be getting off with me. I assured him nothing bad would happen to his daughter which seemed to calm him down a little. He confided to me that the police would be boarding during dinner time, and that we all should be in the dining hall when that happened. While I was getting back to my cabin, Lucius invited me to come with him for a smoke.

He said that he knew what was happening between me and Alex and said that was admirable what we were doing, but that we shouldn't play with luck any further.

During Lunch, Lucia called me over and made me swear in my life that I wouldn't become like her brother, and asked me to try and find a husband, suggesting even that I should marry John, since he had a very bright career ahead of him and seemed interested. I promptly denied and said that I didn't know what she was talking about, she sent me away sadly.

Patrick and Connor found me thinking close to the dining hall door and invited me over to their cabin where they showed me the suits they would be wearing in the wedding. Connor was wearing a very normal one with a beautiful hand made jacket from his father, Patrick, on the other hand, was very unconventional and was wearing a black tunic! I made a remark on that point and Connor agreed with me, but Patrick laughed it off and said that Connor's daughter knew him and invited him without any remark on clothing, which Connor agreed that that was a valid excuse.

John tried to talk to me during tea, but I pushed him off and tried eating alone, however, he came back and gave me a piece of paper with a badly written poem and seated across from me in silence.

When the police appeared in the horizon Alex came to me and said that I shouldn't panic and gave me a kiss.

Dear diary,

Oh my God. The police entered the boat and round up all of the suspects and the crew in the dining hall, there they talked with John that started to make a scene about how he knew who was the killer. After some time where he considered various points from different people, saying that Patrick could've kill her because of some stupid fight that happened, he said that Connor could've killed her because he was angry at her for not staying in the same cabin as Patrick, he said that the brother and sister each had a convoluted reason for killing her and had the audacity of telling the police that I could've killed her because I was fired from some job that I never had and that Miss Lovejoy was responsible. However, after saying all of that he pointed to the captain and said "he killed her" and the captain was shaking and started saying: "Yes! I did it!" Which caused such shock in me that my legs gave up and I would have fallen if Alex hadn't caught me.

The captain explained that it was something she had seen coming for a long time, and that she was the reason that he couldn't get any job in the USA. He said that she was resentful about some money he took from her very early on in his life and made him work for her, and said that she never left him alone until he had to flee the country without his family. He admitted to always come back to his daughter birthday, but that was always how much time he would spend in the United States.

The captain was arrested and Alex took his place. Today we should start moving again.

Dear diary,

Alex has spent the day in her room, I stayed with her during lunch and dinner, but talked a little with the other suspects during breakfast and tea. They are all very happy that it is finally over, but they all seemed deeply sorry for me, since I was always talking with him. Lucia asked me if he had ever confessed to me, and I said that he didn't. I still do not know what to think about this whole situation, but I must stay strong to help Alex during this trying times.

Dear diary,

Today we are to disembark during lunch. Connor invited me as the plus one for his daughter's wedding while Patrick asked Alex to come with him. They said that after all that we've been trough, that we should try and have some fun, which is true. Patrick offered to buy us dresses for the party, but Alex asked if he could buy her some pants instead. Lucia said to me that she wouldn't be able to accompany me to Paris, she and Lucius had to talk a lot, and they wanted to go back to the United States as quickly as possible.

John tried to say his goodbyes to me, but I ignored him, so he thought it would be a great ideia to propose to me, I don't have to say that I promptly rejected him. Right now we have docked and I'm in the flat that Patrick and Connor rented until the end of the wedding. Alex is still in shock, but seems to be better, we will be going to a restaurant this night together.
