DRDT vs. The Scrum Debate
Tumblr media
Greetings party people (<- DRDT fan community). By complete accident, I wound up writing some analysis addressing DRDT's Chapter 1 Scrum Debate and what it might mean for the future of Chapter 2. Although it can no longer be used in the exact context for which I originally wrote it, there were still some interesting things to note, so I thought I'd share.
So, here's the question I'll pose: whenever DRDT's Chapter 2 Scrum Debate eventually appears, can we deduce who the killer is by which side of the Scrum Debate they're on? (DRDT spoilers, obviously, as well as V3 spoilers.)
Let's start out with the facts of DRDT so far. I'll recap the Scrum Debate using this formatting: the person listed first is the one who speaks first, on the team opposite the protagonist. The person listed after the arrow (->) is the person who countered them from the protagonist's team. The team whose opinion is proven correct by the end of the Trial will have their names in green, while the incorrect team will be listed in red. The killer is bolded. The protagonist is underlined. The protagonist's side always wins, so I'm not additionally marking that in any special way. I'll list anyone who doesn't talk at the bottom, and cross their name out (name) if they're dead.
DRDT Chapter 1 Scrum Debate
Question: Is Teruko the culprit? (yes/no) J -> Nico David -> Whit Veronika -> Rose Levi -> Ace Hu -> Eden Arei -> Arturo Min -> Teruko No lines: Xander, Charles
In this case, Xander didn't speak in the Scrum Debate (because he's dead) and neither did Charles (because he was having a mental breakdown). As it stands so far in DRDT, the "pattern" is that the killer, Min, spoke and was on the team opposite from Teruko. She was countered by Teruko herself, even!
Therefore, you could say that "the killer will be someone who argues on the opposite side of the protagonist, and possibly even whoever is countered by Teruko. If your killer pick winds up on Teruko's team, it's bad news for you."
However, it's hard to find a pattern in only one example. Now, we'll see if those assumptions hold true when compared to the OG of Scrum Debates, the canonical Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony.
V3 Chapter 1 Scrum Debate
Question: Is Shuichi the culprit? (yes/no) Kiyo -> Gonta Miu -> Kaito Maki -> Kirumi Ryoma -> Kiibo Kokichi -> Kaede No lines: Rantaro, Angie, Tenko, Tsumugi, Himiko, Shuichi (^ Unlike what's been shown in DRDT so far, in V3, characters' death portraits are assigned to a side of the Scrum Debate. That is what these colors note for Rantaro right now, and other dead students below.)
V3 Chapter 2 Scrum Debate
Question: When was the body put in the piranha tank? (in the morning/at night) Tsumugi -> Angie Kiyo -> Himiko Miu -> Kaito Kokichi -> Shuichi Gonta -> Maki Kirumi -> Tenko No lines: Rantaro, Kaede, Ryoma, Kiibo
V3 Chapter 3 Scrum Debate
Question: [Should we] Vote for Korekiyo [now, or discuss it further]? (vote now/discuss further)* Himiko -> Kiibo Miu -> Shuichi Kaito -> Kiyo Gonta -> Kokichi Maki -> Kiyo Tsumugi -> Shuichi No lines: Rantaro, Kaede, Ryoma, Kirumi, Angie, Tenko (*Although the team that said vote for Kiyo now would have technically been correct, given that he did kill Tenko and Angie, it's generally good practice to discuss every piece of evidence in a Class Trial in case something strange comes up last minute. Thus, I will call the team that said they should discuss further correct. If you disagree with this verdict, just flip the colors in your mind.)
V3 Chapter 4 Scrum Debate
Question: Could Gonta have committed the crime? (no/yes) Kaito -> Shuichi Tsumugi -> Kokichi Maki -> Kiibo Kaito -> Shuichi Kaito -> Kokichi Himiko -> Kiibo Gonta -> Shuichi No lines: Rantaro, Kaede, Ryoma, Kirumi, Angie, Tenko, Kiyo, Miu
V3 Chapter 5 Scrum Debate
Question: Which one is dead? (Kokichi/Kaito) Kiibo -> Shuichi Himiko -> Maki Tsumugi -> Maki Kiibo -> Shuichi Himiko -> Maki Tsumugi -> Shuichi No lines: Rantaro, Kaede, Ryoma, Kirumi, Angie, Tenko, Kiyo, Miu, Gonta, Kokichi, Kaito
Oof, my man Ryoma cannot catch a break. And Miu is only correct once she's dead; that's pretty funny.
Now, let's answer some questions! As established by v3...
Does the blackened have to be on the opposite team from the protagonist? No, Kiyo argued on Shuichi's side in Ch3!
Does the blackened have to be countered by the protagonist in their Class Trial? No, Kirumi, Kiyo, and Kaito were never countered by Shuichi!
Is the blackened always on the incorrect side of the Scrum Debate? No, Kaede, Kiyo*, and Kaito answered correctly!
Does the blackened have to speak in the Class Trial? No, Kaito didn't say anything, as himself or as Kokichi!
(Granted, Kaito not speaking was a very special circumstances that will in all likelihood never apply to DRDT, much less in this Class Trial. And, of course, Kaede wasn't countered by the protagonist either, but given that she was the protagonist at the time, that would have been basically impossible.)
With these answers, I think we can confirm that, in general, you cannot determine who the killer of a given Trial is based on where they're placed in the Scrum Debate. As established by V3, they can talk on the side of the protagonist, talk against the protagonist, or not talk at all, and they can still be the killer. It makes sense that it would be this way, or else you could start calling the killer as early as the first episode of the Trial, depending on the Scrum Debate's placement.
However, that's not to say that you can never infer things from the evidence you're given. In a well written Class Trial (which DRDT has, in my opinion), a killer is always looking to support their end goals in subtle ways. In V3, all of the killers acted in the way that made the most sense to them based on the question asked: Kaede wanted to protect Shuichi and everyone else, Kirumi wanted others to think the truth of the murder was impossible, Kiyo wanted to extend the Trial to evade a guilty verdict, Gonta genuinely believed he was innocent, and Kaito didn't tip the scales by commenting on one side or another. Of course, that begs the question: what will DRDT's Scrum Debate be about?
Personally, I think it will be about whether Arei met with the killer at 7:30 PM or 7:30 AM, and will happen almost immediately once episodes resume. Thus, in that specific scenario, I find it likely that DRDT Chapter 2's killer will once again be on the team opposite Teruko. Presumably, the killer would want to argue that the time was 7:30 PM, because they likely left AM or PM off of the note intentionally because they had an alibi at night. If we assume that Teruko would side with Charles in saying that the time was 7:30 AM, playing into her feeling that something about David being the blackened is wrong, then that would put her on the (likely correct) AM team, opposite the killer.
An interesting side note about this theory for the Scrum Debate's subject is that it's really similar to V3's Chapter 2 Scrum Debate question. V3 Ch2 asked whether Ryoma's body was placed in the Gym in the morning or at night, and DRDT's may ask if Arei's body was put in the Playground in the morning or at night. Similarly, "is Shuichi the culprit" and "is Teruko the culprit" are almost identical questions, down to the person suspected being the innocent eventual protagonist who was only put into this precarious position by their trigger-happy bestie.
If this pattern holds up, we might expect DRDT's subsequent Scrum Debates to ask us whether we should make an impulsive or cautious decision, something about someone's personality as it pertains to the crime, and which of two people is dead/the culprit. Does that information get anyone theorizing? I certainly think it's interesting idea.
Well, whatever happens, I'm sure we'll have lots to talk about once Episode 12 does eventually dropped. Thanks for checking this out, and hopefully I can post more properly planned DRDT content soon.

Old Kisatori/InventedProductShipping Headcanons - #4
When was the first temptation to kiss? When did they actually kiss?
The first time Hanzo wanted to kiss Kojiro? Well, I already mentioned this before, but during their first meeting, in person and as business, he saw how doting Kojiro was to his son, who he brought with him and was still a baby. It was very cute and he had the thought to kiss him right then and there…which pretty much unlocked his gay awakening, oops. Obviously, he didn't act on it at the time as that would not only be unprofessional but also cause this was the first time he was realizing that he was gay and needed time to process that, and he's not a cheater. As much as it turned out how incompatible they were with their sexualities, Hanzo was still married to his wife at the time, and he wasn't going to go behind her back just to kiss this one random guy he just met. That would just be adding salt into the wound if he ever got around to mustering up the courage to divorce her. (Which he eventually does.)
As for their first kiss…well, it doesn't happen until a couple of years. Almost two decades, even, as Hanzo never had the courage to kiss him until Yamato and Mikako got their invitation to Hope's Peak. When he shared the news to Kojiro, he also revealed that Teruya had gotten his invitation as well, which meant that they'll be attending the same year and class! They were both overjoyed to have their kids go to a prestigious school like Hope's Peak (elitism aside), so after years of simply exchanging emails and collaborating together once, they decided to meet up in person to celebrate together as adults - a.k.a. there's gonna be alcohol. Hanzo was still harboring feelings for Kojiro but didn't want to make the meeting romantic or anything. He didn't even know if Kojiro was interested in men, so he kept it to himself and they met up at a bar. They spent some time catching up, talking about their kids, their business and what they've been up to personally. After a few drinks, Kojiro was starting to get a bit personal in his touch, leaning against Hanzo and saying that he hadn't a friend like him in a long while. Hanzo's heart was pounding, almost painfully so, as he also admits that Kojiro was very important to him. He laughs, saying that he appreciated the closeness. But, maybe because of the alcohol or maybe because he was just so happy that he just wanted to say it, Hanzo reiterates how important Kojiro is, bringing him a little closer. Kojiro was a bit confused, chuckling almost nervously as he doesn't really believe that but Hanzo means what he says. That he finds Kojiro important, admirable, handsome…lovable. It was only then that Kojiro finally realized what Hanzo was trying to say as he leans in to kiss him…
Only for Kojiro to get out of his seat.
"I can't."
"I…" Hanzo stares at him, feeling like he had suddenly been slapped back into reality. He felt the horrible fear of incompatibility rearing it's ugly head, one that he had forgotten in the moment as the alcohol clouded his judgment. He knew Kojiro had nothing against the homosexuals, as the Otori Mart was a safe space for people like him, but that didn't mean he was interested in men. But, he had to know. "Why…?"
Kojiro didn't answer, not at first.
When he turned back to look at him, it was with wide, grieving eyes, his hand clutching his sweater where his heart would be. And his fingers brushed over where a wedding ring would be, speaking in a quiet voice that cracked.
"…I can't." Kojiro looked down. "…I'm sorry."
And then, Hanzo remembers.
He remembers an image of a young woman, smiling brightly at the camera as she's forever memorialized on the Security page of the Otori Mart website.
Tamami Otori, Lovable Wife and Boss, Forever Missed
And he understood.
He understood that the man he liked still held a candle for his deceased wife.
And he felt his heart break in two.
"…Okay." And that was all he could say. The silence between them felt as though they were going to be buried alive.
"…Thank you for the drinks, Hanzo." Kojiro said, picking up his suit jacket. "I'm sure our kids will get along great as classmates."
"Wait." He couldn't leave it like this. And apparently, neither could Kojiro as he stopped and turned around, his guard completely up. Hanzo swallows. "…Are we…still friends?"
Kojiro didn't answer right away.
"I…" The merchant runs his fingers through his hair. "…I'd like that. Just…give me some time. Okay?"
"…Okay." Hanzo didn't stop him after that. And Kojiro didn't stick around to say anything else, leaving the inventor behind to drink the night away.
Maybe he should've kept his mouth shut…
Aaaaaaaaand that's where they left things off in canon, as Hanzo dies a few months after the 79th class was brought into Hope's Peak, leaving Kojiro alone with even more grief and regrets as a part of him wished he did take him up on that kiss.
BUT WE'RE NOT LEAVING THINGS LIKE THAT, WE LOVE NON-DESPAIR AUS IN THIS HOUSE.
Hanzo and Kojiro still exchanged emails, but clearly, things have been mostly professional between them with how curt and to the point Kojiro has been. This hurts Hanzo but he knew that confessing to Kojiro out of nowhere like that was going to have consequences on their relationship. For better or for worse. But he gives him time, like he asked him to, and kept pace with Kojiro. Eventually, Kojiro starts bringing up stories from his past and during his time running the Otori Mart. This confuses Hanzo at first but he listens to him (well, read), and replies with his own stories, from his time at Hope's Peak to the inventions that worked well and didn't work well. It felt like they were connecting again…and then Kojiro asks him to meet up somewhere. The address was something Hanzo recognized was a graveyard but he chooses to go there anyway to see what Kojiro wants. The months had gotten colder, and upon meeting up with Kojiro, it was a bit awkward but not…uncomfortable. It just felt like two friends that haven't met in a long time. Kojiro asks him to walk with him, and Hanzo agrees.
They walk through the graveyard, silent for awhile, until Kojiro starts talking. It was about his wife, Tamami, and how much light she had brought into his world. Kojiro…admits that he wasn't in a good place when they had first met. Neither of them were, really. Hell, he had done a lot of bad things, things that Hanzo would doubt find disgusting with his strong sense of justice. But unlike him, Tamami never gave up on herself or life itself. She always tried to do the right thing, even when her options weren't clearly on good or evil. She brought as much joy as she could to those around her and their banter between each other…it made him interested in her. It made him want to know more. It made him…feel hope again. So when she died to bring Teruya into this world, he felt as though a lot of his world went with him. But he knew if he gave up here, Teruya would be left without a mother and a father. And Kojiro swore to be the best father he could be and tried his best to pick up the pieces. And eventually, he did learn to be happy again…but not entirely. At that point, the two of them stopped in front of a grave, the Otori family grave. Kojiro's breathing was uneasy, clearly holding back tears. Hanzo just picked up some nearby incense and hands one over to him. Upon lighting them for the grave, Kojiro finally falls to his knees.
"I'm…not sure if I'll ever be ready to let her go." Kojiro swallows, covering his face as the tears start to slip by. Hanzo sits besides him, silent. "She was…She was my hope. But I…I knew. I always knew, if she ever saw me like this…she'd slap me on the back and tell me that it's okay to cry but to stop living in the past. She'd want me to be happy, more than anything else in this world…even if it's without her." He sniffles, wiping his eyes. "I knew…but it's hard for me to…understand."
Hanzo hesitates. He didn't want to intrude. Even if there was a hope blossoming in his chest, he didn't want to cross the line if he were to read this wrong. But he slowly, carefully pulls Kojiro into a hug. The merchant leans into it, almost clinging to him as if he was terrified that he'll disappear on the spot.
"I love her. I still love her. My heart will always belong to her." Kojiro looks into his eyes, red and wary…but somehow, committed. "But…I…I want to make room for you, too, Hanzo. If…you're okay with that."
"Kojiro…" Hanzo squeezes Kojiro's shoulder. It wasn't even a question to him. "Of course I'm okay with that. I never met your wife, but it's only natural that you'd still love her, even after death. I would never ask you to abandon that love. But…if you're okay with being with me, too…then I think we can make this work. For not only us, but the kids, too."
Kojiro was silent.
And then, he laughs.
It was a sad, broken laugh. But it was almost light and airy, like he couldn't believe the words he was saying.
Hanzo thought that was the end of it.
But, through his own tears, Kojiro turned and kissed him on the lips.
Hanzo felt his brain short-circuit, his face going red but not from the cold. But it was over before he knew it, and Kojiro was burying his face into his shoulder.
"Can we stay here? Just a little while longer…" Kojiro asked, quiet and small.
"…of course we can." Hanzo said, gentle and, perhaps, a little giddy.
After that, they both agreed to take things slow, testing out the waters before deciding on anything official.

i actually really enjoyed sdra2 (i liked it a lot better than v3, but the bar was basically on the floor for v3 so there was that) but i always thought it was super strange that the game demonstrates on multiple occasions that this dude has at least basic knowledge of the medical world and also did that (honestly kinda neat, i like it) design choice to have his tie in his pocket so it resembles the shape of a stethoscope and then just. never? does anything?? with that?? like alright man keep your doctor secrets

EPISODE 13 CHP 2 DRDT SPOILERS.
so. WHAT THE FUCK. Levi has basically no empathy confirmed. He wants to be liked but he doesn't understand what caring about others is like. Ace tells levi to die. Lmao. Also he's so suspicious +He mentions the only person who he ever trusted. WHO NOW??? Eden and Arei doomed yuri. We get Arei and David flashback. Arei's cg looks like sora from sdra2s final cg btw thats just a random thought i had. Arei you can't do this to me. She really said "I'm a piece of shit but so is David so let's fix eachother" AUHSVGDHBJFKL Okay. EDEN. WHAT THE FUCK. EDEN. NOBODY SAW THIS COMING. I WAS SO CONVINCED IT WAS TERUKO BUT IG NOT??? Eden took Xander's eye out. So. Eden's probably a traitor, though it's probably not voluntary - we see her crying as she holds the bloody fork. I'm sorry, but with this, I think Eden culprit and Levi accomplice theory is over. I just don't think it works. Also how in the fuck does Arei know about that. my girl eden getting character development real david lying cause he thinks hes tough shit teruko DEFENDING LEVI??? YALL???? SHES PROJECTING HOW SHE FELT IN CHP 1 ONTO LEVI AND DEFENDING HIM I HATE HER /pos DAVID SNEEZING SPRITE LMAO. okay so all secrets are revealed. Teruko is either lying or mistaken about her secret, cause the look David gives her after it CANNOT be innocent. this does tell us something though - the family one applies to teruko, if shes not lying on purpose. but...what??? Who does family refer to? It cant be her parents, she never knew them. And she barely remembers her brother. Maybe it's the others at the orphanage, or her friends? Also, she feels survivors guilt apparently and wished she died with whoever family is. Somebody give my girl Teruko a break. EVERYONE SMOKES TERUKO FOR NOT KNOWING WTF THE SPINNY THING IS. Fandom cheers as Teruko finally stops getting interrupted and explains the murder method. WHIT AS A DOG HAD ME CACKLING I DID NOT SEE THAT COMING. We see that Teruko's drawing isn't much better than her handwriting (which we get more samples of btw!!!!!!!) Nico's gonna have to explain the murder... maybe the theory that Nico was framed by / helped someone is true, but idk. Teruko's interrogating the shit out of them. So. Culprit? I think realistically, the best options for the culprit are Ace, Rose, and Whit. Maybe Hu, Veronika or Nico if you squint REALLY hard but I doubt it. I think Ace is SUPER suspicious, half because vibes and half because david calling his ass out here
Tumblr media
Rose definetly has potential to be the culprit, but idk. im tired leave me alone. WHIT. EVERY SINGLE FUCKING THING YOUVE SAID THIS TRIAL IS SO SUSPICIOUS. YOUVE BEEN THROWING BLAME ONTO LEVI CONSTANTLY. U KNOW ABOUT HANGING SPECIFICS FOR SOME REASON. UR SO SUSPICIOUS UR NOT SUSPICOUS ok thats it unrelated to this post, i made a doc of my live reactions to stuff and here are some things i wrote that i thought were funny

SPOILERS FOR BOTH THE MOST RECENT EPISODE OF DRDT AND CHAPTER TWO OF SDRA2
Is anyone else seriously reminded of Emma and Kokoro with this case? For starters, it’s the same chapter, but both relationships were also heavily emphasized leading up to the murder. When Emma started being suspected, she broke down crying about how it was impossible for her to be the killer because of how much she cared for Kokoro, only for that to have just been an act. Maybe the same is true here for Eden?
Like I said in my last post, I don’t want it to be her… that would suck not only because it may mean her “sweet” personality was all just an act, but it would likely be the final nail in the coffin for Teruko ever trusting people again. How would she even come back from that 😭

Hello hope your having a good day idk if your still active on this given that no one is 💀 but can you write a Sdra2 x reader scenario were the girls suspect their S/O of cheating only to realize that that was their cousin the whole time
Thank you for request! It means a lot to get this kind of stuff. I only write for 6 characters at a time btw. You can rerequest if you wanted Setsuka or Kokoro. Anywho, this was a fun request and like last time it was almost no spoilers. Actually that’s a lie, I can’t write without spoilers whatsoever. And yeah I’m still active. I need to rewatch a play through of DRA though.
That was or maybe not be the reason I’m trying to hold off on DRA request because I’ll definitely fuck them up.
WARNING: Kanade, IMPLIED SPOILERS, SUSPECTED CHEATING, idk y’all
~ Mod Haruhiko ✈️
Emma Magorobi
🎬 Emma would probably be tagged many many times in some popular paparazzi page. And that post was a picture of a person who looked just like you holding hands with some other person.
🎬 She’d probably feel heartbroken and would definitely be extremely upset about it. But then she’d see that the person who looked like you didn’t look all that like you. Sure, you looked similar but not exactly the same.
🎬 But unfortunately her anxieties got the best of her and just assumed it was a weird lighting. And Emma probably wouldn’t confront you in person instead opting for doing it via text.
🎬 When Emma finds out the truth, she’ll expect you to also have some proof to back it up.  But when she finally is convinced of it not being you, she’d apologize immediately.
Yoruko Kabuya
🍷Yoruko would see a girl who looked shockingly like you from across the bar. And you were with someone else. Yoruko didn’t think much of it at first, just a little mad you didn’t say hello. Or that was until you had kissed this person.
🍷 She tried to get over there to go yell at you and about how you had betrayed her trust. But unfortunately Minako had kept her behind the counter serving people as it was an extremely busy day.
🍷 Then the real you had come in and taken a seat on a bar stoll. And Yoruko immediately got confused because how could you be on two different places at once.
🍷 As she was serving you, she’d ask about what was going on and once you have explained. Yoruko be so thankful for Minako putting her behind the counter. That would’ve been an embarrassing first meeting with your family members.
Sora
❔ You were the only person who recognized Sora and you were the only person she recognized. Although not remembering much about what you did, she remembered that she loved you.
❔ For a motive, Mikado or well Monocrow handed out pictures. And in those pictures it was of a person who looked suspiciously like you and another person kissing, and many more the you look-alike and them going on a date.
❔ Sora is put off with this motive at first, questioning in her mind if it was actually you or not, but instead of confronting you on it, she slept on it.
❔ In the morning she went to go ask you about it, and she had come to the conclusion that you were the one in the picture and she was mad and questioned you over it.
❔ Sora was very embarrassed to find out that she got worked up over her S/O’s cousin making out with their boyfriend. She did apologize
Kanade Otonokoji
🎵 Another one to hear about this via social media. One thing she hated about your public relationship was that you lacked privacy when you went out in public. Kanade kind of knew once she saw the picture.
🎵 Kanade understood almost immediately that the person in that photo wasn’t you. But she wanted to play up her innocent girl persona with you. So she faked crying and showed up at your place.
🎵 She would intentionally try and make you feel bad for her. Kanade would start up an argument showing pictures that were on social media. But that argument did dissolve quickly.
🎵 Once formally told by you, Kanade would try and guilt trip you for not introducing her to your family beforehand. And she would only then cuddle you as a make up for the argument.
Iroha Nijiue
🎨 Iroha would see a picture taken by one of her older siblings of you and another person. They had multiple pictures of dates and kisses as if her sibling had been stalking you. Which that made her upset.
🎨 She was straight up in denial as she assumed that they were doing this to get her much more focused on her masterpieces. Until Iroha was told by either Emma or Hajime that they had seen you going around with another person.
🎨 Iroha would feel so hurt by this, and would just lock herself in her room and cry for hours. She would draw her ocs getting trauma to cope with the feelings of hurt.
🎨 She would also probably make someone else go and confront you about it, record the situation and send it to her. And which in this case she made Emma do it. After knowing that it was just your cousin she would pretend like none of that ever happened whatsoever.
Hibiki Otonokoji
🎶 Hibiki would hear about this through Kanade, who would also show proof of a video of you and the other person kissing. Intentionally Hibiki would lash out at Kanade for ever assuming that would’ve been you before breaking down crying for her sister to comfort her.
🎶 She wouldn’t confront you for a while, she would just ghost and ignore you. Avoiding places that you could’ve seen one another in public. Hibiki just felt so betrayed, so many people had left her. Why you too?
🎶 Eventually you two would see each other somehow again, and Hibiki would start crying demanding for an explanation. It created a whole scene but you loved Hibiki so why did it matter?
🎶 Once you told Hibiki that it wasn’t you in those pictures and that it was your cousin, going as far as to FaceTime them to prove it. Hibiki’s blind trust in Kanade’s words would begin to dwindle.

Also i loved reading your gender and sexuality headcanons for the sdra2 cast, do you have any for the dra ones? (+ if you wanna elaborate on the trasnfem setsuka one i'd enjoy listening, i hadn't seen anyone have that kind of hc for her before so i'm curious on the thoughts behind it)
Hello! Thank you for the question! I’m sorry this took so long, my draft for it disappeared and I haven’t had time to remake it.
Admittedly, I’m not as passionate in DRA as I am for SDRA2. I have minimal notes this time, but hopefully this can suffice! Like last time, the content below the cut contains spoilers!
DRA: SEXUALITY + GENDER HEADCANONS
Kiyoka Maki - Cisgender Heterosexual
Ayame Hatano - Cisgender Lesbian
Kanata Inori - Cisgender Heterosexual (But the Inomori shippers are convincing me otherwise.)
Teruya Ōtori - Cisgender Pansexual (Same as SDRA2!)
Kinji Uehara - Cisgender Heterosexual (Locked in the closet and is NEVER coming out.)
Akane Taira - Cisgender Bisexual
Mitsuhiro Higa - Cisgender Heterosexual
Kizuna Tomori - Cisgender Questioning (She met a girl that made her reflect on every dating decision she’s ever made.)
Rei Mekaru - Cisgender Asexual (Maybe demiromantic as well?)
Haruhiko Kobashikawa - Cisgender Heterosexual (Was probably bi-curious at some point, though.)
Satsuki Iranami - Cisgender Pansexual
Yamato Kisaragi - Cisgender Heterosexual (I never got to the point he was introduced in the game, so I don’t know his character too well.)
Mikako Kurokawa - Cisgender Lesbian
Kakeru Yamaguchi - Cisgender Bisexual (Bi panic as a person.)
Yuki Maeda - Cisgender Heterosexual (Different from his SDRA2 counterpart!)
Utsuro - Cisgender Aroace (I know it’s a common headcanon for villains, but I genuinely cannot imagine him having romantic/sexual feelings towards anyone.)
Tsurugi Kinjo - Cisgender Something (I’ll be honest, I don’t know where to place him. I have a lot of different ideas and my mind can’t decide on one. ᕦ(ò_óˇ)ᕤ )
————————————
Also, explaining my headcanon!
(I have a TLDR at the bottom if you want to skip.)
Originally, I headcanoned Setsuka as bisexual. To me, she just wanted good vibes and a great connection with someone - she couldn’t care less about gender. (Also because I was a huge Setsukei shipper back in 2018.)
But after seeing her older design for Chapter 6, I got HEAVY lesbian aunt vibes from her. Then it started changing my brain chemistry for her entirely. (Cool butch older sister, no further comments.)
As for the trans headcanon, I rarely see any trans butch headcanons and wanted to represent that in one of the characters!
It took a lot of time figuring out the headcanon could work, and I have some general details about it:
I don’t see it as something she’ll talk about casually - only with people she’s close to and knows it won’t change their opinion of her. She’s not ashamed of her identity - just cautious of negative responses.
I also imagine she figured out her identity at a young age, and since then, has had a lot of time to learn little tricks on how to feminise her features, figure, etc. 100% will give you advice if you ask (doesn’t matter if you’re a trans guy either, she’s got a wide range of knowledge.)
TLDR; The trans butch sister who’s there when you need her. ^v^

And we have reached the end of SDRA2, and it really isn't a good look when the best case is the 1st one. Makes you wonder where everything went wrong.
A2-1 does have a lot of good points and does a really good job setting up seeds for the rest of the game, its just a shame that LINUJ fumbled big time with a lot of it.
The game starts off strong by not only revealing the Mastermind right off the bat but then he's serious by seemingly killing off two of the survivors from the last game, of course both Rei and Teruya get better but it really shows LINUJ is coming in guns blazing literally and he isn't afraid to do things the canon series will never do in a million years.
I can understand why you think Mikado is weak since he does lay low in the first half but I blame that more on how LINUJ view storytelling as he probably wanted more Mikado action in the second half of the story and not the first half. There should have been some signs, yes, but that doesn't really go with his philosophy of story telling. But in the first chapter you are left terrified as the Mastermind is right there with you, and you cannot do anything about it since due to his godly magical powers, nobody can stand up to him. Heck Syobai almost dies fighting him, and given Syobai was already established to be someone to not fuck with since he stabs Sora, this really elevates his threat level.
It also allows to you explore the mechanics and I have to point out I love how Daily Life is because its not just FTEs, as you can explore or rest depending on how much energy you have. It means for once you have to do resource management in a Danganronpa game which is something that's never been done before and I do give LINUJ credit whenever something original comes up.
Chapter 1 also has the fanservice scene where you peep on on the opposite sex bathing. Only since its Sora, you are looking at the men, and its so hilarious due to not only how Sora, Yoruko and Iroha all have different reactions but how it establishes Setsuka as a complete troll. Sadly, this is the only optional scene in SDRA2 which sucks as these were my favourite parts of the canon series as it rewards you for trying to collect every item possible. Its equally funny on my playthrough since I got this scene before I did my first FTE with Nikei which just showcases his hypocrisy when it comes to being a pervert.
Now onto the victim of this case Yuri Kagarin. Now I understand the guy was basically begging to die first chapter but given how its revealed later on he's the actual creator of Monocrow, I would have loved him to stick around a little longer to see how he reacts to class trials and maybe more ways to showcase his intelligence. The SDRA2 dub also has some of his words in Russian, but I know the Russian Danganronpa community doesn't like this because as one pointed out to me, its clearly was done in Google Translate and doesn't fit the context whatsover. Still I give props for trying to be original. But still I wasn't too hung up (not literally) when he died because he was the character I was the least invested in going into it.
But can I just say how BRUTAL Yuri's death is, especially for a Chapter 1 death? Sayaka was stabbed in the bathroom. While Imposter was skewered, he was laying face down so you don't see the wounds. Rantaro was bashed over the head and Kiyoka was also hit over the head and hung up. Yuri though? He had a hook in his leg, was flung up causing massive bleeding when he hits the ledges and then when his body hits the bell and falls down, he just looks like a mess, like Jesus Christ. I know this is very tame compared to what later SDRA2 deaths are but fuck me LINUJ is completely savage when it comes to how people die.
Oh and something else? Apperantely Syobai and Yuri were supposed to be swapped in terms of both personality and death. Yeah Syobai was supposed to be these sleezy pervert who dies in Chapter 1, whilist Yuri would be more cold and distant and survive to the end. Heck we even have a early screenshot where Syobai calls Sora cute and says he wants to go for Sora even harder because she's being difficult. No I am not joking. Honestly glad we didn't get this as Syobai being a arsehole is one thing but he being a sleezebag? Yeah nope so much nope.
The Deadly Life was good since you had quite a wide area to explore also I like the Investigation Music. It also is when we start to get hints all is not well with Kanade as suddenly as soon as a body drops Kanade decides to become competant and helpful which is a massive red flag something is up with her. I give credit when its due and say Kanade's true nature was decently foreshadowed as we had nurmerous hints that all was not well with her, but still I don't think we were expecting what we got.
The Class Trial is also quite well done since while Koroko knows who the culprit is unlike a certain guitarist, she decides to take a backseat and let others come to the same conclusion and only step in if things are going off track. Its the same aura that Kyoko has, where she's already figured out who done it, but doesn't tell you the answer as she wants you to come to the same conclusion as her via your own logic. And the fact we get fake Truth Bullets is such a nice touch as its proof that LINUJ knows you are a seasoned vetarian at Danganronpa and treats you like one, by throwing all these curveballs to keep you guessing. Its why a lot of Pokemon ROM hacks tend to be way harder then the offical games as the ones making the hack expect you to know everything and so they throw you into the deep end.
It also makes you really have to think about people's behaviours as what nails Hajime as the culprit is the fact he's behaving against his character, as he is a health nut but for some reason likes drinking which even Yuki found sus. The fact he is also the one who asked Setsuka to invite Yuri despite everyone else writing him off, is another thing that bags him and given the eventual Void reveal, this trains you into having to really second guess everyone's behaviour and actions, which is a valuable skill when it comes to sniffing out Voids.
I'll be honest, I had a feeling Hajime was gonna be the first culprit because we had two buff guys and one was gonna die in Chapter 4 and the other would be a easy early death. Especially when you realise the way the escape was done is taking into account someone who is very physically active, thus Hajime's own health nut nature is what does him in though. What doesn't help is when doing the AA my fucking computer decides that EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I. ATTACK. THE. BUBBLES. A sticky key error alert which doesn't PAUSE the game comes up, which made this AA minigame way harder then it needed to be. And it didn't get better with Emma's either, so yeah when we get to future chapters all the boss fights will be 100% harder due to the fact Mikado decided to hack into my computer to prevent me from winning.
And then there was the Void reveal which...okay I will be completely honest. I think Void are both the best and worst things to happen to this game. On one hand, the fact there is a entire evil faction that's masquarding as a fellow classmate means there is no sense of trust in the group and really turns this into a game of Mafia/Werewolf as you try to sniff out who the evil members are. It also means as you said due to how long it takes for each Chapter to come out, it means people hyper analysis every character to decide who the other 3 Voids were. Some like Nikei were hyper obvious and others like Iroha nobody saw coming. It really adds a unique atmosphere to this game that none would top. Heck the fact a popular AU is what if there was a Void-like organsation in other games really sells how good of a concept this was for a Fangan.
An concept that LINUJ completely and utterly wasted.
Because this is where his philsophy of evil people are always evil really runs at odds with his writing since it seems with a few expections, he cannot for the life of him write purely evil characters. Its not that difficult to have Void members do Kick the Dog moments, laugh at the others and show how much they do not care for anyone but themselves, but he keeps not doing this and then trying to insist they are evil. Nikei being a scumbag in Chapter 4 and Iroha being a waste of space are great examples of how much this is at odds as each other because it seems the writing and LINUJ's worldview is at active war with each other and not in a good. It also ruins the main message of Danganronpa that anyone, no matter how good they are, can kill if pushed into a corner. But all the culprits are either members of a terrorist organisation or a deranged serial killer then that doesn't prove a point. As only the evil people killed and everyone else would never kill. Also the fact not a single Void wound up as a victim which was a completely wasted chance as it would have been so interesting to see Mikado LOSE it if one of his fellow Voids was killed by someone else. There was also the fact the Void members didn't interact with a lot of their victims that much and really make the betrayal sting.
Imagine if Setsuka and Shinji were Voids. Those two were the main hearts and souls of the group keeping everyone together and to find out all of that was a lie? It would be so soul crushing, but no Hajime made minor points, Emma just interacted with Koroko and nobody else, Iroha was just there and Nikei fucked off until Chapter 4. Not a single one made a effort to interact with the group that much which makes the reveals hurt all the more when they would be revealed.
Void Theatre I also have a mixed bag on as while it did explore Hajime's character which is good because since he's the only Chapter 1 culprit to not be a meme, he was lacking in appeal there. But I do question why the Voids are in limbo, is it some sick joke by Mikado? I'm gonna say so since its the kind of thing he would do and really push any AM-like traits I get from him. Normally with the Theatres I just roll my eyes and move on but since Void Theatre is not that, I had a bit more to say.
Also Setsuka this is why we don't do parties ever, parties is how people die in Danganronpa and its why I screamed no so loud when Marin suggested the goddamn sleepover in The After Chapter 2 since I knew shit was gonna happen in it.
Overall A2-1 is a very solid and good opener which really sets the stage for the rest of the game, and its a damn shame the rest of the game didn't take what was given to it due to the potential. And that's why you aren't in the top 10.
Next time well...its pretty obvious what Number 10 is and while its very similar there are also notable differences like the other game being way better then SDRA2 would ever be.
//I will admit that through doing this analysis series, I've come to realize that I probably didn't give Mikado enough credit that he deserves. But I still think there should have been more of a balance between the goofy stuff and the sinister stuff for the first few chapters prior to Chapter 4.
//It just wasn't handled too well in my opinion.
//Also, you might like the resource management stuff, but I can assure you that I don't. I will agree that SDRA2's isn't so bad, but it's still not something that I enjoy in my video games.
//And yes, I do agree that this fanservice scene is pretty fucking funny. As time has gone on, I think the peeping scenes have grown more tasteless overtime, and if I had to rank the one's in the main series, I think my favourite would be the Man's Nut scene in DR2.
//And the reason, contrary to what you might think, isn't because I like Mahiru and I think she's sexy (even though I do), I like it because Hajime's actions and dialogue were just so fucking funny, and the implication that he was influenced by some mind-possessing nut that makes you horny softens the degeneracy aspect of it for me. I can't make that excuse for Makoto, Yuki, or Shuichi.
//But yeah, this is the only other one of those scenes where we actually get, firstly, a group of peepers, which only DR1 and DRA1 did, as well as the only one where we get to see the full scope of their reactions. But it's mainly because it's a bonus scene that I didn't cover it.
//Anyway, I'm not here to talk about bath scenes. I'm here to talk about the trials.
//Yuri's brutal death makes sense upon reflection because unlike the other Case 1 killers, Makunouchi and the members of VOID are straight up VILLAINS. Not innocent people who were forced into murder by circumstances they couldn't control. They had a long time to think about how they were going to execute these plans and pull them off, and the goal from the beginning was to commit murder. Even with Makunouchi being one of the more redeemable members of VOID, that doesn't change this fact.
//But what I will say is that while I'm glad the Syobai we got is the best one we could have had, I don't think I would have been too opposed to having Yuri stick around for more than one chapter, even though I really don't like him. Like I said already, he had a very Nagito-like philosophy, and similar values where he was willing to sacrifice himself, and what LINUJ pulled off in this chapter with him was very interesting.
//And yes, Kanade's true nature was foreshadowed, but specifically in this trial. For this trial, when she started pressing Yoruko, I thought it was interesting as a change in nature, and how Hibiki is the more authoritive, but Kanade is the more intelligent, and they both switch that authority in certain situations.
//I liked that idea. But then when Trial 2 happened, it just got ANNOYING. So I wish LINUJ had stuck with this nature for this trial. Especially because Kanade's reaction to Yoruko turning out to be innocent basically being "Bummer..." was actually kind of funny.
//That sticky keys stuff must have been REAL annoying by the time you got to Trial 3, huh? lol.
//But yeah, I think my biggest issue with this case is that Hajime is not a very difficult killer to sus out. There's quite a lot pointing to him, and I've seen two YouTubers play this trial; Weeby Newz and SHSL Blaze; and both of them figured out pretty quickly that it had to be him. But unlike Leon, Teruteru, or Mitch, the clues, nor his nature, made him super obvious.
//And yeah, you basically paraphrased my feelings on VOID, and indirectly explained why Makunouchi is my favourite OF them.
//On one hand, the introduction of an evil faction pretending to be a classmate creates a sense of distrust among the group, turning the game into a constant battle to figure out who the evil members are. This also leads to intense character analysis, as players speculate on the identities of the other Voids. Some characters, like Nikei, are obviously suspicious, while others, like Iroha, are surprising, and this concept adds a unique atmosphere to the game, and the idea of a Void-like organization has even inspired fan theories for other games.
//However, the concept is poorly executed, particularly due to LINUJ’s philosophy that evil characters are always evil, which clashes with the writing. LINUJ struggles to create genuinely evil characters, often failing to show them committing evil acts that prove their villainy.
//Ironically, the only killer who goes that far for a purely plain and outright despicably evil reason is Kanade (and Mikado, but he's kind of his own entity), and she is the only killer in this game who ISN'T a member of VOID.
//And yeah, the fact that none of the VOIDs become victims threw away the opportunity to create emotional tension. It would have been impactful if a Void had been killed by another character, especially if someone like Mikado lost a fellow Void.
//Furthermore, many VOID members barely interacted with their victims, reducing the emotional weight of their eventual betrayal, with the only exception being Emma with Kokoro. If characters like Setsuka and Shinji had been Voids, the shock and heartbreak of the revelation would have been much more impactful,
//Probably a large reason why everyone expected Setsuka WOULD be a VOID.
//And yeah, I'm not gonna pretend that I'm interested in VOID Theater, but these days, Fangans tend to outright ignore the Monokuma Theater or its equivelents entirely. And for good reason; basically no one likes them, and it pads the game with needless dialogue.
//This is an exception though, because the Theater is hosted by the VOID's, and it's where we actually learn the most about their characters and what drives them to do the nasty things that they have done. It's why I still like Hajime and Emma despite the fact they portray themselves as despicable monsters, because they're very clearly not.
//To top this off, the reaction you had to the sleepover sequence in TheAfter is the exact same as my reaction to the party in Chapter 2 of Penguinronpa. I won't spoil it, obviously, but a party happens there, and yes, somebody dies with it.
//Also, in the Fangan I'm currently playing; Jikoronpa: Laments of Isolation, something similar happens:
[SPOILERS FOR JIKORONPA IF YOU WANT TO PLAY IT]
In Jikoronpa, there is a scene in Chapter 1 where they gather everybody together for a music festival to boost everybody's spirits, and this happens relatively near the end of the first chapter, thanks to a suggestion by an Idol girl named Chiyuki.
//One of the characters, a Bodyguard named Fuyuka, berates the everloving fuck out of this idea, and doesn't do so in a nice way, because she thinks putting everyone in the same place means it'll be easy to commit a murder. Very much the OPPOSITE of Imposter in DR2. But she gets outvoted, and the party goes ahead anyway.
//During the party, there is a blackout, and when the lights come back on, everybody is perfectly fine, and no one is dead, but Fuyuka still takes the moment to tell everyone "I told you so," and rebukes Chiyuki so harshly, that she kind of falls into Despair.
//I liked the subversion with that game, and while Jikoronpa has had its ups and downs, this was interesting.
[SPOILERS OVER]
//But yeah, A2-1 is a good case, and the fact that the general feeling of the other cases don't reach this high is an unfortunate shame.

Can you please do:
Sdra2 boys with a male s/o who is ultimate trader and trading his life to save them from a deadly situation
This request reminded me of this song, ngl
youtube
Spoilers in all parts!!
Hajime Makunouchi:
He didn't have much to say about your ultimate, just that there was nothing you could trade to skip out on a training session with him and Shinji.
He was oblivious to his crush on you, and Yuki or Sora probably pointed it out for him. He denied it at first, he just cared about your health after all!
...Maybe he cared about you a bit more than the others-
Hajime wanted to confess to you, and under normal circumstances, he would have. He would have trained with you alone and admitted to having feelings for you.
Unfortunately, this was not a normal circumstance or school trip. He was a member of void, and was supposed to be the first killer. He couldn't have a relationship right now of all times.
That's what he told himself, but Hajime couldn't let himself reject you when you confessed to him. He felt bad, knowing what he was going to have to do, but he also wanted to enjoy every minute he had with you.
Even when he had to 'get drunk' at the party, it was still one of his favorite moments with you. He acted tipsy and sick, but you refused to leave his side.
When he was voted guilty for killing Yuri, you still wouldn't abandon him.
Making the deal with Mikado was definitely one of the hardest negotiations you've ever went through, and even then, Mikado made it clear that Hajime was forbidden from talking about void.
Hajime thought for sure that would be enough to stop you. He wouldn't be able to help anyone anyway! What use was keeping him alive!? Especially in exchange for your own life!
"It's because I love you, Hajime. Even if you can't say anything, I want you to live."
No... you didn't understand! The whole point of this killing game was so he keep his divine luck and stay alive! He was going to die either way!
He wanted to tell you, but he couldn't waste your sacrifice. It was too late.
Hajime could only sink to the floor as you underwent his execution. He couldn't believe it.
Mikado really was planning to kill him, and you, knowing he killed Yuri, still sacrificed yourself to save him... why!?
Besides Shinji, Hajime was isolated after that. He doesn't mind, he knows he deserves it. He refuses to let himself wallow in guilt, instead training hard and pushing himself past his limits.
He's not sure what to do now, but he doesn't want the game to continue. Even if his options are limited, he'll still find a way to save your friends.
Nikei Yomiuri:
"A trader!? What does that entail!? What was the best trade you've made??"
Like the other students, he wasted no time interviewing you about your talent. He was one of the last people to realize his own crush on you, and even after that, this man was in complete denial.
When you comforted him after the events of the third trial, he couldn't deny his feelings any longer. Even if this was the wrong time for a crush, his heart nearly beat out of his chest when he learned you felt the same way.
Your happiness was short lived, as he did everything to push you away in the tower. Nikei didn't want to do this to you, but he had to stop Mikado.
All of that led him to where he was now: Shaking in anger as his right hand was torn off his body, just about to be executed from a stupid rule Mikado made up.
The last thing he was expecting was for you to make a deal of your own. Nikei didn’t want to die by any means, but he couldn’t sit idly while you gave up your life to save him.
Especially when he didn’t even have anything left.
Nikei couldn't let you do this. He already lost everything. His leadership, his pride, his fucking hand...
He can't lose you too. He can't have something else taken from him by this bastard wizard.
He cries and yells to you at the same time.
“STOP IT! IT WON’T FUCKING WORK!! I’M DEAD ANYWAY!”
Mikado ignored Nikei, promising to fix up his wound and keep Nikei alive as long as he didn’t disclose anything about void.
Nikei continued to shake and scream, beginning to sob as you made the final handshake, sealing the deal once and for all. He just wanted to cling to you and never let go.
But once again, he was powerless as you were pulled away from him, watching your final, painful moments.
It was all too much. The shock from his injury and after watching the gruesome display… he felt numb. He didn’t want to live. If anything, he wanted to kill everyone in this place and then himself.
But that’s what got you killed in the first place.
Nikei is isolated from the group, and spends most of his time in his dorm room, thinking of what he should do now. He didn’t care about divine luck anymore, or even his stump where his prized hand used to be, he just wanted you.
Shinji Kasai:
Given his extroverted personality with guys and shyness towards girls, you couldn't help but be surprised when Shinji stuttered out his confession
It took you by surprise, but you couldn't be happier! The two of you took care of Yuki and each other throughout the killing game, comforting each other after every class trial.
Shinji trusted you completely, refuting any claim that you could possibly in void. And he wouldn't hesitate to tell you, that even if you were, he wouldn't love you any less.
The moment Nikei introduced the idea of Shinji being an informant, you completely shut it down. From that point forward, you knew Nikei had to be up to something.
You told Shinji what he had said, and convinced Yuki that Nikei was full of shit. Knowing what Nikei had said about him, Shinji was much more hesitant to meet with Nikei.
The moment you hear about it, you tell Nikei that you'll meet with him instead. He doesn't buy it at first, but you admit that you know he's going to get someone killed, and as long as you were alive, it wouldn't be Shinji.
You didn't know the full story, the truth that Nikei needs Yuki to be the blackend, but your current knowledge is enough for Nikei to change his plan, on the condition that you take the gun while Shinji is asleep.
It was a stupid idea, but the only way to get out of the tower is by someone's death. Whatever Nikei was going to do, Shinji would be safe.
You didn't notice Yuki until after Nikei tased himself, and by that point, everything happened so fast.
As you laid on the ground with a shard of glass on your neck, you still tried to comfort Yuki, who was slowly backing away in shock.
Shinji noticed both yours and Yuki's absence, immediately getting worried. He searched the entire tower, but he couldn't get there in time. You had only a few more minutes of life left in you, and there was nothing he could do.
Shinji cried out and yelled at Yuki for what he did, who could only drop to his knees.
As you felt your vision darken, Shinji looked at your condition. The two of you made eye contact, and you knew what he was about to do.
His shaking hand reached for the piece of glass, but you shook your head. You smiled at him one last time, the look in your eyes telling him everything you wanted to say, and used the last of your strength to plunge the glass deeper into your own throat.
Throughout the trial, Shinji comforts Yuki, but his upbeat energy isn't the same. He doesn't blame Yuki for what happened, assuring him that no matter what, he'll always be his big bro
But that doesn't make what happened hurt any less. He wants to forgive void, but what could have made them do something like this? Why go through the trouble just to kill Yuki?
When Nikei reveals the deal you made, and how Shinji was going to be the original victim, his guilt only increases. He does everything he can to hold himself together for Yuki and the others, but the moment Nikei is executed, he bawls his eyes out.
He refuses to leave Yuki alone, and makes a memorial for you on the next island.
He exercises more, trying to escape the guilt. You gave up your life for his, so he's indebted to make the most of it. He's failed to save everyone so far, but he won't let it happen again.
No matter what, Shinji will never forget the time you two shared, and above all, he'll never forget you.
Yuki Maeda:
Yuki admired your talent, but didn't really treat you any differently for it. He was extremely obvious with his crush on you, and you both got together pretty quick
As his friends were dying and killing each other, he couldn't be more grateful to have you by his side. You stuck through him as he freaked out about void, and even wondering if you were one of them.
There was nothing he wanted more than to escape this terrible place with you and his big bro
But of course, with his rotten luck, that couldn't happen. His big bro had died all because of him, and to make matters worse, he was becoming someone he didn't even know
As Nikei pointed the gun at him, claiming that everything that happened was because of him, Yuki didn't fight it, instead accepting his fate.
But you wouldn't accept that for him. Not after everything he went through.
Nikei wasn't able to think straight, being consumed by rage, so he didn't even think about your deal. He just knew that you were getting in his way, and he was about to kill everyone anyway.
With Nikei's rage unconsciously letting off his final act of divine luck, the gun managed to fire a single shot before it blew up on him
Yuki was by your side in a second, not even listening as Nikei screamed in pain at Mikado. He didn't care about Nikei being executed, all he cared about was you.
He wept, holding your dying body. You could only smile up at him, knowing he was safe now. He held your body close, not caring about the blood staining his uniform. You gently ran your fingers through his hair, just like you always did when comforting him.
“Y/n, please! D-Don’t go…! I can’t lose you, too…”
His body shook with every sob. You exchanged your last "I love you"s, and gave his hand a final squeeze
No one said anything. Yuki didn't even move.
Utsuro awoke to find himself holding the corpse of a complete stranger, but somehow...
It still hurt.
Yuri Kagarin:
Obviously, Yuri hated your guts when he first met you
If you ever did traded something with a woman, he would say that you were ripping them off
It would take A LOT for the two of you to get together, and due to how quickly his life is put on the line by Hajime, he probably still despised you
As the hook is stabbed into his calf, Yuri happily awaits his death, thinking it was a woman who trapped him
It wasn't until you intervened and managed to prove it was Hajime (since he would claim you were lying) that he really began to fight back
By fight back, Yuri simply ripped the hook out, cause there was no way he was dying from a male, and wrapped his jacket around the wound. A part of him did appreciate that you stopped his death from being wasted, but he still ignores your attempts to help him
However, he does warn you when he notices Hajime enter the tower with a syringe of muscle relaxant.
You tried to talk some sense into Hajime, but Yuri violently cursing him out in Russian didn't help. You knew that Hajime wouldn't let both of you live, so you did what you do best, and struck up a deal.
Yuri constantly spurned the talents of males, but he was impressed by your ability of persuasion. You told Hajime that the muscle relaxant was enough for only one person, and Yuri's blood loss could cause him to forget about this, but if Hajime used it on Yuri, you would tell everyone what happened
Yuri didn't understand why you were doing this. Males were vile creatures that only cared about themselves, so why were you doing this for him? After he had been so horrible to you?
When Hajime takes the deal, Yuri can't help but feel... afraid? Why? You were the one who was going to die. Could he be...afraid for you, a male?
As your corpse was discovered at the bottom of the tower, Yuri's eyes felt oddly wet, and his vision seemed to slightly blur.
He stops talking about dying for a woman after that. Despite being a male, you were... a decent person, and he shouldn't let your sacrifice go to waste.
Having someone die for him hurt, and he would never let anyone feel that way.
Wait, no. He would never let a woman feel that way.
Even if you were a good person, that doesn't mean he was wrong about men.
...right?
Teruya Otori:
You and Teruya connected right away with your talents, and it wasn't long before your relationship became something more
After he failed to protect Kokoro, he swore to himself that he would never let you become a victim
Even if he had to die
He refused to leave your side, and even when he locked up everyone in the tower, you refused to leave his
Both of you took turns resting in each other's dorms, as Teruya would cling to you in his sleep, just needing to hear your heartbeat and know that you were okay
After getting his reset code, he was conflicted about leaving you behind in the virtual world, but you assured him it was the only way to get help from the outside
When his attempt fails, and he's locked away, he can't stop himself from feeling like he let you down
Upon learning that he is a firewall, the one thing keeping the Kisaragi Foundation from entering, he prepares himself to eat the rice. Only seconds before the rice touched his lips, the noticed that you had thrown the door open, Mikado right behind you.
He screamed at you to leave, and as soon as he noticed Mikado's presence, he tried to eat a fistful of rice as fast as he could, but was easily stopped by Iroha.
Mikado had to gag him as he protested every moment you negotiated with him. He still tried to eat the rice a few times, but ultimately failed
Mikado saw Teruya's desperation to save you, and knowing that your death would break him even further, to the point where he might convince everyone to vote wrong on purpose, he agreed to take your life to save his
Teruya's eyes became black and white spirals of despair, becoming a perfect reenactment for Akane's sudden turn to despair, and being a perfect push for Yuki's personality swap
When the Kisaragi Foundation intervenes as the survivors are inches from death, Teruya could only feel disappointed that he couldn't be with you again
In the real world, he's forcibly restrained to stop him from hurting himself, and his drive for vengeance is the only reason he returns for the final trial
He not only failed to protect you, but you knowingly gave your life to save his. You died right in front of him, and he would never see you again. It was like his father all over again...
He's a shell of the person he once was, following deeper into Tsurugi's mindset and footsteps
As the dying Mikado reaches for Utsuro, Teruya stomps his head in.
Syobai Hashimoto:
From the start, Syobai was a bit annoyed at your talent, how you always managed to convince him to cooperate with the others and share information with them, with a bribe that was always too low for his liking, but your ultimate always came through in the end
You were smart, and seemed to understand him better than everyone else, whether it was a result of your talent or not
The same talent you were using to save him from Mikado, who had decided to punish Syobai for attacking him
You didn't want to have to do this, you brought up every trick you could, telling him how he said he wouldn't punish people for hurting him, but Mikado snickered
He was the mastermind, he could alter the game however he wanted, take Nikei for example
Syobai stumbled back when you made your offer, willing to give up your own life to save his
Syobai wouldn't let it happen
He'd offer to pay money, do Mikado's dirty work, however much he wanted to just leave the two of you alone
Whatever it was that void or Mikado wanted, Syobai would get it for them
Syobai has connections and money, but only one person who genuinely cares about him
One person who would give up their life for a bastard like him
With his job, he's faced situations like this before, where one wrong move can turn things ugly, so he prepares his knife
You lightly held his arm, signaling him to stop, but he refused
"Syobai...one of us has to die. And it's not going to be you."
Syobai's body shook in anger as you were devoured by flames
You didn't even scream as you became nothing more than ashes
Mikado tried to provoke him, but Syobai was still smart enough to know not to waste your sacrifice
He became more cooperative after that, telling the group that he didn't care about them, he just wanted to take down Mikado
Slowly but surely, Syobai begins to change, and while he's still far from opening up to people, he cooperates with the Kisaragi Foundation to end the game, and escapes with the remaining survivors
Because he knows it's what you would have wanted
Mikado Sannoji:
Yeah, no. There is nothing you could trade for this man.
The fact that you’re a trader only reminds Tsurugi of Teruya, and he learned his lesson about making deals with criminal scum from Syobai
Tsurugi would kill you as well, just for being an accomplice with no hesitation.
In the end, the two of you died as Partners In Crime

I’ve talked about this song with people on instagram and discord and people don’t really seem to get why I associate this song with the dynamic of Tsurugi Kinjo and Rei Mekaru in the Kisaragi Foundation after DRA. So, I’m gonna do a bit of a post here explaining why.
‼️DRA, SDRA2 & OMAKE SPOILERS‼️
(feel free to listen along while reading)
why “Another Shot of Whiskey” by the Gits reminds me of Rei Mekaru’s perspective on Tsurugi Kinjo;
“You walk in with another headache
I can tell by the lines in your face”
(Rei walks into the foundation everyday, and he’s usually working himself half to death and is constantly going over his morales.)
“You seem to think if you just remove the problem
The answers are what will come next”
(A part of Kinjo’s whole philosophy on everything. He thinks that removing all the criminals in the world is the solution and everything will be better afterwards.)
“Another shot of whiskey
And maybe I'll be ready
For what's still crowded in your head”
(Rei needs a drink before Kinjo unloads his philosophy bullshit on her before she can even begin to tolerate it.)
“Never thinking that all the good times
Are what walked in with the bad”
(All the good times she’s had at the foundation are bc of the killing game. This could also reference all the good times she’s had at the foundation are bc of Tsurugi Kinjo, but he’s also is a lot of the bad times too.)
“I don't know why we compromise ourselves
I thought it was a common understanding”
(I am not so sure abt this line besides the fact there’s a lot of self sacrifice in the foundation. This, or the fact that they are all workaholics and work way too hard.)
“With all I've tried to help with
Tell me, do I end up empty handed?”
(Rei tries to change things and help out a lot at the Foundation, but Kinjo’s ideals get in the way and nothing gets done.)
“Another couple of beers while I'm safe here at the bar
And maybe I'll get me some rest”
(Rei needs a fucking drink to finally wind down cause she’s a workaholic)
“Don't know why all the good times have to turn-up with the bad”
(Same as the first time this line came up)
“It's like a sword of hate
You brandish it so proud
I wonder if you're taught what you feel”
(Kinjo’s ideals are so hate-filled and he preaches them proudly. The second part is kind of like ‘where did he get that from’, and it hints at the fact that Kinjo was taught all this by his dad anyway.)
“Or is it the way you got it cold dead in your eye?”
(His eye in sdra2 is full of hatred, once you see him tip the hat off.)
“It would be good if you could just
Leave me well enough alone”
(Sometimes Rei needs Kinjo to give her a break bc lets be fr, he’s probably exhausting.)
“The crime of fate is what I have to follow through
If I'm going to get past you”
(Fate needs to keep her fighting against him because she’s got no motivation to anymore.)
“Another shot of whiskey
And that's about the only
Way I can listen anymore”
(She needs a drink before she has to listen to Kinjo’s BS)
“Go ahead and drown me of everything
At least I still got my place at the bar”
(Kinjo robbed Rei of leadership and a lot of other stuff, but at least she’s still running strong in her place at the foundation.)
The rest of the song is all repeating lyrics, but I hope y’all enjoyed this schizo post 💀

If I remember correctly, LINUJ had a second blog exclusive to do Q&A with the Fandom (That recently closed by the time he uploaded the first SDRA2 Side Story), so maybe the age thing was in there.
But also, like, DRA was made before the Danganronpa/HPA Saga's timeline was smoothed out (Or attempted to) by the infamous Danganronpa 3 anime, so contradictions between what LINUJ originally wanted to tell in DRA and the canon timeline would be logical.
If that's true, it's a shame that he closed it as I assume it's no longer accessible to the public. It would at least allow us to go through the blog and see if someone asked that question and if he gave an answer.
Yeah, I can see contradictions being cropped up as long as there are content coming out for the franchise. That's kinda just what happens when you make a fangan that takes place in the same timeline of the canon games. Some things either get changed or quickly become outdated as more details come out from more content. And like you said, DRA was made before the Danganronpa 3 anime ever came out as the first chapter was completed in 2013 and the whole game wasn't even complete until 2015...I think. Long before the anime ever aired officially in 2016. Or, even announced as far as I know. (And the game wasn't translated in English until years later.) Correct me if I'm wrong, of course. But yeah, LINUJ is just as much left to the whims of the creators & writers of Danganronpa as we are as a fandom.
And, honestly, I'm not surprised that the Danganronpa 3 anime made a mess of the timeline in an attempt to smooth it out. I can't say much about the timeline on that front, though, as I unintentionally dropped off after a few episodes of the Despair story side, and I meant to get back into it but never did. My interest kinda disappeared and I heard how disappointing it was, so that kinda killed any interest I might've wanted to reignite for it. I won't tell anyone off for those who did genuinely like it, but even then, that doesn't mean it doesn't deserve to be critiqued for it's flaws and just bad writing decisions. And while I never finished it, I did find out about the spoilers and had some...Thoughts...that I rambled about on a Discord server with another person. They're very off-the-cuff but they're Thoughts, nonetheless.

Hibiki/Kanade Drabble I wrote!
CW: everything that canonically comes with Kanade, and heavy SDRA2 spoilers.
--------------------------------------------
Hibiki was her pretty little doll, to play with however she choose.
But in the privacy of her own mind, Kanade missed the days when there were actual stakes. When Hibiki would struggle. Her acting has improved, but its not the same now.
This Hibiki felt as good as dead in her arms. It was like looking into a twisted funhouse mirror- seeing her own eyes staring back, with none of the fire behind them.
Maybe it was her fault.
Maybe changes nothing, It'd be a waste of years of their lives.
Maybe she should pick out a new doll.

Cruising on Hope
Writing using the canon dialogue and my writing because Sora and Yoruko <3 :D! (Soruko soruko soru-)
This is from the cutscene that happens in the image below!
Might post this on AO3, who knows o.o?
Also, I CAN WRITE STUFF THAT ISN'T ANGST, IM EXPANDING LET'S GOO (I say as I wanted to add an ending that was sad relating to the ending of sdra2)
SPOILERS FOR SDRA2!
Tumblr media
Yoruko grins as Sora stares out into the sea. "Aaah~! This feels amazing!"
Yoruko walks over to the railing and leans as the gentle wind hits her face. Sora follows behind, grabbing the railing as she looks out.
"Everywhere you look is the sea. I guess the Monocruise really did start sailing." Sora hums. "The interior feels so much like a hotel that I kind of forget this was a ship."
Yoruko nods as she turns to Sora. "I know, right? And it's going by so fast! I remembered what Monocrow said last night, so I ran straight to the window when I woke up. Then, as I was leaving my room, I noticed this door had opened up, too!"
Sora looks to Yoruko, a curious look on her face.
Yoruko slowly gazes at the sea. "And, well... I thought you might want also to see the view of the ocean."
Sora softly smiles and nods. "It really is refreshing... I feel like just for this moment, I can forget everything and relax." Sora looks away from Yoruko for a moment. "By the way, Yoruko."
Yoruko blinks as she turns back to Sora. "Huh?"
"Weren't you suspicious of everyone? Because of Void and everything."
Yoruko tilts her head before shaking her head.. "Eh?! N-No, I don't like suspecting people and stuff. Nikei and Hibiki were at it with us, so that's the only reason I got upset."
Sora nods, allowing Yoruko to continue. "I mean, I agree entirely with Setsuka and Shinji. It's just that I couldn't quite control my feeling. So, I acted harshly without thinking."
Sora looks at the water, crashing against the cruise. "...To be honest, when Nikei said I was the most suspicious out of all of us, I felt a wave of worry rush over me." Sora exhales. "I have no memories... Maybe.. Maybe I really am a Void, who's forgotten their purpose..."
Sora's frown deepens and she grips the railing a little bit.
"No! No way!" Yoruko's voice drags Sora out of her thoughts. "I-I mean... well, I can't be certain of course, but..." Yoruko walks over to Sora and places a hand over Sora's. "I refuse to believe you're a Void. Besides, even if you are... Well, it's like Shinji said. I'll become your closest friend and save you from Void." Yoruko beams. "So, you don't have to worry about anything. No matter what happens, I'll be there for you."
"Yoruko... Can I... hug you?" Yoruko blinks and completely fails to find words.
"Wh-What?!" Yoruko finally sputters out.
"My heart just skipped a beat. " Sora beams back.
Yoruko just stares at the other in complete disbelief, mouth almost wide open. "Sora-!! S-S-S-Stop iiit! G-Geez, you sometimes say the weirdest stuff, y-you know...?"
Sora laughs at the other's embarrassment. "Well, I wasn't lying, was I?" She teases.
"Sorraaa!!" Yoruko blushes. "You're not funny-!!" She walks to the other side of the balcony and crosses her arms.
Sora grins and walks over. "I'm just joking, Yoruko. I love you, too."
If someone's internal systems could crash, Sora could completely tell it just happened to Yoruko. Yoruko stares at Sora and sputters.
"I- I.. Um-!! S-Sora!!!" Practically red now, Yoruko turns away from Sora. "Y-You can't just say stuff like that just out of the blue! Don't play with my heart like that!!"
Sora raises an eyebrow at that. "Oh? I'm playing with your heart now?"
The other immediately realizes what she says and starts to sputter. "Sora-!! S-Stop it!! I didn't mean it like that when I said-!! Geez!"
Sora leans to try and see Yoruko's face. "You know, you don't have to get all defensive with me. You're a really great friend, Yoruko."
Yoruko visibly relaxes, as she exhales and nods. "I'm glad you're my friend, too. One of my closest."
Sora smiles. "You're one of my closest, too."
A brief moment of calm washes over them.
"..I wish I could be someone like you, Sora... You're so smart and brave.. I don't know how I'll get through this killing game." Yoruko takes a deep breath and stares back out to the sea.
"Well, we'll get through it.." Sora holds Yoruko's hand and shows her. "..Together."
Yoruko blinks before smiling. "Together." She nods.
"..But, Yoruko.. Um.."
"Hm..?" Yoruko hums.
"..Was that... Um, a confession?"
Yoruko looks at Sora in confusion. "......? .....what?"
Sora looks back at her, confused about how Yoruko didn't know what she said either.
Yoruko's eyes widen as she realizes what she said. "....!!! Ah, aahwoahwoahwaitwaitwait this is...!!!"
Yoruko is back to blushing. "That's-!! That's- not what I meant!! That's not what I meant when I said together, aaaa-!!"
Sora shakes her head. "It's alright. I know what you meant. But.. If you really mean it that way..."
"H-Huh..??"
"Whenever you're ready to confess, I'll be right here." Sora softly smiles and turns to leave.
Yoruko just watches as Sora is about to leave the balcony.
"Oh, and, Yoruko..? I love you."
Yoruko watches as the balcony door closes and she's left alone with the wind and water.
She turns to the sea. "...I love you, too, Sora."

DRDT Secret Theories (Part 2)
Continuation of this post. Spoilers for up to chapter two, episode four
Charles Cuevas
Charles my beloved
Charles gave Teruko the secret he had received. He saw it was not his, and decided to give it to Teruko. However, he gave her instructions not to open it unless a murder happened. From this, I assume that he did not get Teruko’s secret because there would be no point in not letting Teruko know her own secret.
Personally, I don’t think the secret he gives Teruko will be especially important. I think what’ll happen is that it won’t be important right now, but later in the story, it’ll turn out to be pretty important.
All of this taken into account, I think it’d make sense for him to have Veronika’s secret. I think Veronika could be the traitor revealed later in the story, so I think it’ll be important during some other murder. Or something.
Summary: Charles had Veronika’s secret. By extension, Teruko now has Veronika’s secret.
(Alright, now this becomes 90 percent stretching.)
Hu Jing
Where did she go?? Where did she go??
Alright, so for Hu, I don’t see her being especially important in this chapter. All her screen time was literally just. The Dressing Room.
So, considering that she’s probably not going to be important, I don’t think she has a very shocking secret. I think Whit is literally just A Guy, so probably she has his secret. She doesn’t seem quite concerned about the secret she received, (granted we did not see her initial reaction, but it seems like she isn’t too concerned).
Summary: Hu has Whit’s secret.
Levi Fontana
Bro disappeared 💀
Alright, disappearing person #2, meaning probably not important to this chapter. Meaning inconsequential secret. Our secrets left are Arei, Hu Jing, and Teruko.
He seems a little concerned in episode 1, but not terribly concerned, simply asking MonoTV if it gave him the right secret. From Hu’s secret quote, it seems she’s done something terrible in the past (or it could be a quote if she was a culprit, but I can’t really see her being a culprit), so I don’t think it’s her. I think someone else has Rose’s secret, so that leaves Arei. Personally, I think that while Arei is pretty rude, she probably hasn’t done anything… really bad. Or anything.
Summary: Levi has Arei’s secret. Pair #2
Veronika Grebenshchikova (WHAT IS THAT LAST NAME)
Since I think our last person has Teruko’s secret, that leaves Veronika as having Hu JIng’s secret. While Veronika’s reaction might seem unfit for a big secret like Hu’s, I think Veronika is used to reading and seeing shocking things. All she says is “Oh gosh,” which I like to interpret as “Oh that is screwed up”. Also I really… don’t know where else to put Hu.
Summary: Veronika has Hu’s secret.
Rose Lacroix
ROSE MY BELOVED!!
Okay, so, if you’ve been keeping track, you know I think Rose has Teruko’s secret. My reasoning for this is that Rose feels like a semi-important character, someone who’s smart but not necessarily the support or antagonist. My best example is Mikako from DRA or Syobai from SDRA2. I think the secret could definitely be important in the long run, maybe for figuring out the mastermind or something, and that Rose could survive until at least chapter 3 or 5.
I don’t really know whether she’ll confront Teruko about the secret she has or not, but based on the Chapter 2 preview, which is now deleted, I think she might not. It seems like nothing has really changed between Teruko and Rose, and something would probably change if they talked about the secret. Of course, they could’ve simply talked after the preview ended, but for now, I’ll say no.
Summary: Rose has Teruko’s secret. Pair #3
Final Thoughts + Other Theories: (bold + italic is confirmed, bold = very sure, italic is decently sure, nothing is just me stretching)
J has Charles’s secret
Arturo has J’s secret
Teruko has Rose’s (given) and Veronika’s (given to her by Charles)
Charles has no secret, used to have Veronika’s
Ace has Arturo’s secret
Nico has Eden’s secret
Eden has Nico’s secret
Arei has Levi’s secret
Levi has Arei’s secret
Whit has Ace’s secret
David has his own secret
Rose has Teruko’s secret
Hu Jing has Whit’s secret
Veronika has Hu’s secret.
Other Thoughts
The only secrets I think will be revealed in this chapter or later chapters are Ace’s and Teruko’s for sure, and maybe Arturo’s, Hu’s, Levi’s, and Veronika’s.
Secrets that are probably not terribly impactful - Nico, Eden. Arei, Whit
Secrets that are either huge or not impactful at all - Veronika, Hu Jing, Arturo, Ace
Secrets that are definitely at least decently big - Teruko, David, Levi
Okay that’s it. Let me know what you think!
