"Good ending?" sdmi au. Not "sdmi magic isn't real au" (human au) related.

What if it was the original Mystery Incorporated who defeated the entity? The group decided to not tell anyone about their adventure, and Jones ended up being the only one who knew.

- no reset.

- demigod animal descendents stay in this one.

- everyone under influence of the demon got cleared of it's effects.

- Fred still ends up getting adopted by Jones, as Brad and Judy want to focus on their career.

- Jones is still the mayor.

- Destroido corp. and Sternum & Sternum join forces and form an alliance of sorts.

- that gold from the treasure got distributed evenly amongst the Mystery inc group.

- Ricky's current side project is harnessing, storing and transforming the "magic of friendship" energy into some usable (read "profitable") form.

- Cassidy and Ricky get braids. Cassidy has thin braids on her entire head and Ricky got hair braided into one complicated braid going from the top of his head (I can't draw braids).

- Pericles doesn't have the scar, but no other design changes got made. Him and Ricky run Destroido out of the catacombs. (one is a bird and the other one doesn't like public attention).

- Ricky is more publicly visible than in the original, but still the only thing that the public knows about him is approximately just that he exists (and his appearance, possibly). Ed is still the public face of the company.

Reset happened, the sign reads "Sunniest place on earth". But what if things were just made worse? - Welcome to Crystal Cove, the "rich people summer home place".

The deamon was never there, but the pattern stayed. The people stayed.

Destroido corp. - Genetics research, gene splicing, cloning and more. Sister company - Quest Laboratories - weaponry and robotics.

Sterling Security - Traps, but primarily security equipment , cameras, alarms. Even robotics. Works together with Destroido, not for. This is where Ricky's surveillance comes from.

Ricky "Mr. Enigma" Owens - Head and owner of Destroido. Also head of the IT. Initially tried music, failed and went for business.

Ed Machine - "Can it be done remotely? -> No? -> Throw Ed at it." C.E.O. and face of the company.

Cassidy Williams - DJ Angel Dynamite. The wife of the owner of Destroido. Public knows that they have history together, not just how much. The group split apart after graduation and each went for different career option. Music it was for Angel.

Judy Reeves - Co-owner of Sternum & Sternum. (Physics, a mechanic) They don't live in Crystal Cove and headquarters are elsewhere. Still they have a building here and a summer house.

Brad Chiles - Co-owner of Sternum & Sternum. (Geometry, mathematics)

Professor Pericles - Unofficial, faceless head figure. Writer? Professor Professor Pericles - gets a title. (Unfinished and unpolished writing with this one) Mentor of sorts to Scooby-Doo. Works under a pseudonym.

Fred Jones (senior) - Ex-mayor. (Current mayor is the redhead Nettles.) Him and sheriff were dating at one point, but broke up. Godfather? to Freddy. Freddy lives with him when parents are away.

Marcie Fleach - There is no theme-park. Father's a theater actor. Marcie studies programming, specializing in robotics.

Fred Chiles-Reeves - In this world Fred Jones is, despite or because of his weird interest, the popular kid. Learning that Daphne is his fiancé here must have been a shock.

Daphne Blake - Youngest and the latest of Blake's daughters. Older sisters are considered failure. (They're average.) Aspiring fashion designer Daphne.

Velma Dinkley - Parents own a regular info shop (they're still fascinated by supernatural) and she's girlfriends with Marcie.

Shaggy Rogers - A chef, has multiple awards from competitions. Eye for detail comes from parents (artists). A theater kid.

Scooby-Doo - In Crystal Cove gets treated like a human. Has his own bed, sits at the table, allowed entry to places. Also would face all consequences like a human. "You know that the "Oh, but I'm just a dog" thing doesn't work on us." (his existence could possibly be a result of Destroido's experiments?)

♡ Again, og mystery inc has those two. Brad is the one to design a trap. Judy is the one to build it. I can imagine him (Brad) carrying around rulers and other geometry stuff. Also, Judy is the one to fix the car when it breaks.

♡ Probably already said this one, but Ricky can pick locks.

hopefully, I will finish this one. in case I don't, here's the wip of my au og mystery inc redesigns.

I hate canon Cassidy's dress, so she gets a (gymnast suit? isn't finished yet). She should be more crazy w the fashion imo. For my au, each member has a specialization. Cass is most alike in this w Dapne. I mean, neither of these two have anything special about them to contribute to the team. But both are the heart, and both are the muscle. (this is why Cass sees herself in Dapne, among other things) Where Daph has her fashion and make-up knowledge, Cass has her music. She's (the audio guy).

Ricky has least changes done to him. But he gets the glasses from Cassidy. I mean, we never see her w glasses in the future anyways. He's the computer guy. Hackerman. I'm also putting him to be the one w puzzles and riddles, random trivia, and such. And again, he can pick locks.

Judy is the team mechanic. She builds the traps and fixes the Enigma Engine.

Brad is the plan guy. And the one who designs the traps. He's specialized in geometry. I plan to use it somehow, eventually.

24/04/23 - I fucked around with krita brush settings, accidentally ended up irreversibly changing default brushes, created four new brushes which all look very similar to each other and I might be the only person that sees the difference between them. And I made this sketch with one of the new brushes. yay

Also, that chair needs to be larger. Just cartoonishly large chair w the short birb man on it.

idk if I'll have the motivation to finish this tomorrow, we'll see.

"Out of sight, out of mind" they say. If anyone took a look at your workplace, they would even believe it. The overwhelming amount of glowing monitors is sure to keep your mind occupied. You need to keep an eye on everything after all. But with Karl back, this wasn't so easy anymore.

The family photo showed up on your desk today. He was snooping around in your office. Of course. “Look at what I found! Brings back so many memories, doesn't it Ricky?” he says.

No. No it doesn't! “We should make another. A new family photo. To immortalise this wonderful reunion. All of us.” You know what he's saying, Ed is not invited. Not like he would join you anyway. And neither is Her.

It was just you, your parents and Karl. You don't like that photo, you have a better one anyway. One with your "friends". No parents. No Karl! You have no choice here. That wasn't a proposal, that was an order.

You may be boss of your company, but he calls the shots around here. He's in charge of your personal side project. Your treasure hunting business. He appointed himself. Karl may not look like it, but he sends shivers down your spine. Literally. He's more of a father to you then your father has ever been. You do not want to disobey. You aren't allowed to.

You don't like having photos taken of yourself. The one on all official stuff was pain, and it's ugly anyways. You don't even own any mirrors. And the monitors are always on for a reason. But you go and brush your hair, as he commands. But you go and wear your formal clothes, as he commands. It's an important occasion. You must look your best. You must look presentable. It's a family photograph after all.

sdmi au headcanon/idea dump post. in no particular order:

- Mr. Rick "Enigma" Owens

- Ricky is the "throw money at it" when things don't go his way kinda guy. It's not a question of "if it's for sale" rather "how much and what currency". Not willing to accept money? How about a lifetime supply of your favorite thing. Not willing to move from your home? No problem. We'll move the entire house, garden included.

- He does feel bad about things his company and by extension himself has done, but the moment he steps foot into any of Destroido's buildings/property his business brain kicks in. That poisoned plot of land he was upset about few minutes earlier? He can just get it removed entirely.

- [The "Scooby-Doo has a fever dream" episode, the "superhero with a cyborg dog" episode and the "Ricky knows how to perform God level of plastic surgery" episode are removed entirely from the au. The "Obliteratrix" episode - Ricky either hired a costume designer and gave them full creative freedom or the kid chose the costume herself. He didn't hire a normal assassin because he didn't want the kids to actually end-up dead. The "Danny Darrow" episode gets massive changes done to it.] [I have found out that by removing supernatural and magic, the cartoon gets significantly cut. Well, I'll replace it with some character driven filler I guess.]

- Ricky doesn't strive for control. He cares about the numbers going up, about the company's reach going further. When you can't even pick up a rock without it having Destroido's brand carved into it. The kind of reach how Tchibo has it's own clothing brand and whatever Nestlé has going on, but more and bigger. Pericles on the other hand wants direct control. He wants to make decisions and run the world. His word is the law, he owns everyone. Law doesn't have much power over him anymore, it's more of a guideline. Where Ricky is invincible by being basically untraceable, Pericles is invincible by spreading fear and misinformation.

- Ricky is officially written down as the company's hacker. You have to dig deeper to find out that he owns the thing.

- Ricky painted the van himself, he earned a "you tried" golden star from Cassidy.

[The robotic dog is still a dog. Scooby received it as an anonymous gift maybe. He would walk around the town with it for a few days. As he's the owner, he's responsible for any damages it may cause. People have seen him with it. He took it to school as well. It escaped his house at night maybe. Then it turned violent and attacked the tourist bus. “What are you in for? Your pet robot attacked a bus full of people?”]
