SDJ au concept. I saw camp counselor aus before where Jack becomes a slasher, but what if YOU were the slasher? Two ways it can go, either y/n is a classic slasher that happens to target the camp Jack works at OR;
You're a camp counselor and all your coworkers this year are a bunch of irresponsible young adults who aren't taking their jobs seriously. I mean, you have to look after kids in a remote forest location with easy access to a lake, they could get into anything and hurt themselves or wander off and get lost or worse if they aren't properly supervised! So- after catching the other counselors shirking their duties to hook up or sneak a beer one too many times- and to the detriment of one of the children no less- you decide you're going to teach them the lesson of a lifetime. Teamed up with one of your friends you stage a slasher murder, just like in the campfire stories. You make a cool mask and wear some clothes that obscure your figure and with some shoddy sfx thag looked just real enough in the dark you make it look like you killed your friend and fellow counselor. You'd planned to meet back up and reveal the ruse in the morning but... your friend never came to the meeting spot. You eventually get to see the "body" and... those aren't the fake slashes and corn syrup blood you'd made.
Someone had gone in behind you to make your murder real
Unbeknownst to you, you weren't the only one fed up with the state of things. Only, Jack wanted a much more... realistic slasher case to scare the others straight. Of course, now that they're freaked out they're minding the kids less and less, which just means Jack's gotta hammer in the lesson even harder until they shape up and get the point! Meanwhile, you've got to cover your tracks and hide your own involvement while also investigating this new slasher that's using you as a scapegoat to hopefully avenge your friend and keep the campers safe all while picking up the counselors' slack with the only other person who seems to actually be doing his job.
It's a bit wild that he's thinking about dating at a time like this, but hey- when there's a chance you'll die tomorrow may as well have a whirlwind romance while you're at it, right?
Jack meanwhile thinks that one of these unhelpful lot of new counselors might just be worth sparing, and maybe- if they agree- he'd like to keep them for himself.
Some fun tidbits to point out, Jack doesn't know you're the original masked "slasher". He only becomes obsessed with you after he starts killing and the two of you start bonding while working together to keep the camp running. And you're also still going out in your slasher attire to hopefully either lure out the double or make it so if you're caught, nobody sees that it's you sneaking around and gets suspicious since your face is hidden. It's better they run from the "killer" than catch you and start thinking you're up to something when you're actually trying to be the good guy here and investigate/stop the real killer on the loose.
I'm thinking he's a spirit of a counselor that died in the 80's, his self appointed role is to continue protecting and looking after the children- so when the new wave of counselors come in and treat the job like a summer get away he quickly inserts himself into their ranks and takes matters into his own hands. They're hardly paying attention and it's not like any of them checked the employee roster, who'd notice an extra set of hands helping out? You don't remember meeting him when you were first taken around the grounds and introduced to everyone, but you figured he might just have been quiet. The kids seem to know and love him, and you swear you've seen him out of the corner of your eye around the camp a couple times, so it's probably fine. The camp was a big place, it isn't surprising you hadn't gotten to meet everyone in one go, and since he seems to really be working he was probably too busy covering the others to mingle with the other counselors and introduce himself.
EDIT: I think I actually like it more if he's just a normal guy instead of a ghost in this au. He's just Like This™️

About the 80s Camp AU...
What's Jack gonna do when summer is over and the camp is closed for the season? I mean, they won't be co-workers anymore, but I assume that he already has plans to wiggle his way into Y/N's everyday life, right?
Oh I've been jonesing to write more 80s camp AU but have had a serious block with it. So thanks for the request anon 🎉.
Tumblr media
As you've guessed he's already got plans to remain in their life as much as possible.
Assuming they live in different towns/cities he'll be making frequent trips to see them before eventually moving there "for a change of pace.".
That thought in mind he'll suggest the two move in together regardless if they entered a relationship over the summer.
"We've basically lived together for a couple months already and get along great.".
Having entered a relationship just gives him extra ammo.
"Why wouldn't we live together? I wanna see you as much as possible and be there for you my sunshine.".
Remember his favorite drawing of the two of them? It's getting hung on the wall or placed on a prominent shelf.
Insists on walking them to and from work, his schedule will revolve around theirs.
If they try saying he doesn't have to he'll just chuckle and say "It's not a problem. I just wanna make sure you stay safe.".
If he notices any of their coeorkers being a little to chummy for his liking he'll try encouraging them to find a different place of employment.
Can't jump straight into old habits and dusrupt their work, that wouldn't be polite.
If they insist on staying he'll try to dissuade said coworkers first by making it obvious they're taken.
Being more affectionate and touchy when he comes to see them or is dropping them off.
Definitely doing a big hug when he picks them up at the end of the day "Missed you sunshine! Ready to head home?".
Even if they aren't together yet it's not suspicious to them cause, well, it's jack and he's just a naturally affectionate fella.
In the event none of that works he'll have to arrange a little accident. Failed braks, stepped into traffic or simply going missing.
Home life is much the same as when they were rooming together back at camp but with added perks.
Being able to monopolize their time on days off being one of his favorites.
Loves to cook as a way of showing how much he loves them and how well he can take care of them.
Another bonus is more options for fun dates, doesn't matter if they're dating Jack exclusively calls them dates.
May come to like their time off better then when at camp.
Don't get him wrong he loves working there and absolutely adores the kids but it's basically a 24/7 job.
Meaning their time together can be interrupted at any moment without either one of them being able to do a thing about it.
Still he wouldn't dream of not working there.
Both because he's always loved the place and it's where he finally met his other half.

"Never Swim Alone": An 80s B-Movie Horror
(A Sunny Day Jack Summer Camp/80s Slasher Flick AU)
Part 2: “Watch Your Step”
As always, shout outs to @yan-sideblog for this amazing AU✨
❌TW for: descriptions of gore, also Y/N does get sick like twice, but that part isn’t too graphic
❤️⛺️🌲🔪💀
A quarter past six and the sky was just barely shifting from inky black to a rich navy blue. Within a slightly shabby yet very cozy cabin a young lifeguard was (for the most part) wide awake and ready to face another day at camp.
Lacing up their running shoes, they glanced at a dark silhouette laying in one of the twin sized beds across the small room and smiled to themselves.
Jack would be proud of them—surprised even—that they had beaten him to Wake-up Call. But then again it was Wednesday, and on Wednesday mornings they usually went on a run.
They were careful not to disturb their cabin-mate as they got their things together, Jack was a rather light sleeper they’ve noticed, however the old floor boards groaned as they made their way to the door. Holding the doorknob in hand, they froze in place and peeked over their shoulder.
Sure enough, the light snoring from the cabin’s other occupant abruptly stopped, followed by the springs of the worn out mattress creaking as Jack sat up, “Hm?” The camp counselor’s voice was rough from sleep. “Y/N? Ya heading out so soon?”
Even in the dim lighting the lifeguard could faintly make out Jack’s bright blue bedhead and sleepy expression; while it was admittedly adorable it was also a bit out of character. Usually the gentle giant woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed…
‘Rough night, bad dreams?’ A voice in the back of Y/N’s mind wondered.
After all, a lot of creepy stuff has been happening around the camp as of late. People leaving suddenly, others getting injured-or worse-killed in freak accidents, and then the occasional tool or bunch of rope missing from storage…
The lifeguard was optimistic that it was all just coincidence, but even then they wouldn’t fault anyone for feeling a tad on edge about everything.
“Yeah, but I’ll be back for breakfast. Don’t wait up, sleeping beauty~” They couldn’t help the playful remark, sure it could be read as flirtatious, but in a bind they could always play it off as the banter they shared with their newest—and somehow closest—friend.
A faint chuckle was heard before the man cleared his throat to speak more clearly. “Alright, sunshine, but be careful out there.”
They nodded in his direction with a warm smile, and finally stepped out into the cool, dewy morning.
After some light stretching on the small porch, they trotted down the front steps and began a jog towards one of the forest trails that they haven’t yet explored.
It was a bit out of the way from the more popular ones, but maybe the views would be worth it. Their cabin-mate was right when he first told them just how beautiful it was around the campgrounds. Before camp had officially started they had even gone on a few hikes together. He knew all kinds of fun facts about the local flora, it was rather endearing.
Jack was a good friend, one of the best Y/N’s had if they were being honest.
Granted, the guy could be awfully protective at times: warning them about certain coworkers that were better to be avoided, along with reminding them the importance of things like eating well, staying hydrated, and getting to bed at a reasonable hour. But surely it all came from a good place; even if Y/N’s very own mother wasn’t this…doting…attentive?
He was just looking out for the newbie, right?
While this certainly wasn’t the first job they’ve had; being a lifeguard for a summer camp’s lake shore was a little more involved—and more stressful—than a community pool.
But Jack had taken them under his wing within the first ten minutes of knowing each other, and helped them navigate the hurdles of hyperactive children, incident reports, and catty and/or nosy coworkers.
What would Y/N do without him? Even they could admit that they were a bit of a space case, so having a (gorgeous, strong, caring) buddy in their corner to keep them on track was surely a blessing.
Who knows? Without Jack around maybe it could be them getting hurt in an accident.
The path down the trail was well worn by countless steps before theirs. Tall grass creeped up around the edges of the dirt trail, swaying slightly as the lifeguard ran past. The fresh air washing over their face felt good as they pulled in deep breaths as countless trees blurred past.
Sunrise slowly crept ever closer, painting the sky a lovely series of hues as songbirds chirped and greeted the new day. A few turns around the bends of the winding path and it was as if Y/N was in the very heart of the woods.
They kept up the pace until their legs began to burn, and once it was no longer bearable, Y/N slowly bounded to a stop, panting to catch their breath.
With a deep sigh, they paused to appreciate the nature around them. Surrounded by lush greenery—a far cry from their college located in a concrete jungle—such a welcomed change of pace.
Despite all the bad luck the camp was facing, Y/N couldn’t think of a place where they’ve felt more at peace.
With a content hum, they decided to walk the rest of the path, it would give them a chance to really drink in the serenity before another busy day herding kids.
A steep incline was ahead, leading them down to a small creek. For a moment Y/N stopped to watch the babbling water and rocks that began to glitter in the glow of the sunrise, a faint smile at their lips. After carefully using the stepping stones that someone had once helpfully placed, they were back on the path towards the final stretch.
The trail was more overgrown at this part, maybe others usually have turned back at this point—this was one of the longer trails after all—but the lifeguard knew that all of the camp’s paths lead back to the grounds, so why not complete the circuit?
The hill on the other side was a bit steep to climb, yet they managed only with a small stumble to their knees. Once the ground leveled out again, Y/N leaned against a tree to dust off their knees and inspect a minor scrape. When the breeze changed its direction suddenly they smelled something…foul.
Looking up from their legs bewildered, they glanced around. It was past daybreak now and despite the thick cover of trees, they still had decent visibility of their surroundings.
Nothing obviously looked off from what they could tell, but that smell, it was enough to twist their stomach in a knot.
Death. Rot.
Wait. There!
A patch of grass not even a yard off the trail looked like it had been trampled by something fairly large. The knot of dread twisted tighter in their gut still; a deep seeded instinct telling them that something was terribly wrong.
It’s probably just a deer…
They thought.
Poachers have been an issue…
Jack has told them so.
Yet some unknown force compelled them to approach. Their sneakers crushed fallen twigs and dead leaves as they took a few cautious steps from the trail.
Oh.
Oh my god!
Blood, so much blood.
Dried brown and turning rancid in the morning light.
A body of what they could only assume was a young man, laying on his stomach with his arms twisted under his torso. But his head—
My god, his head!!
Where on earth did that bear trap come from?! Did they even have bears in the area?!
Y/N couldn’t make out a face, there was nearly none to be had.
The skull of the victim smashed like a pumpkin within the jagged jaws of metal; gore mixed with brain matter all coagulated in a horrific mess.
Frozen in pure shock, Y/N’s vision blurred slightly when they noticed butterflies fluttering around lazily along with countless flies writhing upon the sickening sight before them.
Nausea hit them like a freight train, stumbling back to the path, they gagged and dry heaved as tears began to rush down their face.
Once their stomach failed to empty itself, they sucked in a deep breath and screamed, mind blank as they stumbled and fled.
Towards safety.
Towards people.
They didn’t recognize the sound coming from themselves; so raw, ragged, and primal.
One moment they were staring at their sneakers, the next was spent with brambles scratching across their bare limbs. Tripping over rocks, sticks, and their own legs as they blindly tore towards Camp Coldwater.
Bursting out from the underbrush, Y/N was sure they looked crazed. They must have missed the morning bugle over the loudspeaker, since a few campers turned towards their direction. Some of the preteens began to walk towards them, the expressions on their young faces falling into confused alarm and their steps growing hesitant as they saw their usually easygoing lifeguard so distressed.
A little one looked afraid, turning tail to find another grown up.
From the direction of the mess hall, a familiar head of dyed blue hair popped over the horizon, sprinting towards Y/N in an almost palpable panic.
Had they really screamed that loudly?
The lifeguard found themselves stumbling towards their friend Jack, their legs feeling shaky from the adrenaline flooding their veins. The pair nearly crashed into each other into a clumsy embrace, Y/N’s knees practically giving out beneath them as the counselor’s strong hands held them upright.
“Y/N?! Y/N, please look at me sunshine, are you hurt?! What happened, what’s wrong?!” His questions came in rapid fire, big brown eyes wide as he scanned their body for injuries, yet their panicked mind could hardly keep up with the words.
Their mouth felt as if it were full of cotton as they stammered between gulps of air, hyperventilating. “Th…the woods!! S-somebody’s-“
“—Kids! What’s going on?!”
Trotting up to the pair was none other than the head of camp, Simon, his bushy gray brows furrowed in deep worry as one of the younger campers clung to the hem of his shirt.
Seeing the kindly middle aged man, a symbol of normalcy, only further reminded the lifeguard just how horribly wrong their morning had become.
Failing to bite back a sob, Y/N could only shake their head. “S-Simon, call the police…Jesus Christ, I..I can’t-“ The grizzly image in the forest flashed across their mind’s eye, prompting another wave of nausea as they squirmed from Jack’s grip.
The two men grimaced as Y/N gagged on their own tears.
Oh, this was bad.
This was so, so bad!
Half past ten in the morning, and the camp was crawling with cops.
The other counselors were busy keeping the kids occupied and far away from hiking trail number four. Jack had advised them all to try to dodge the campers’ questions as much as they could. However with this being incident number four, the kids just about knew the drill at this point.
Jack grumbled under his breath, pacing nervous laps by the front desk in the administration cabin. Just down the hallway in Simon’s office, the young man could hear the muffled voices of the camp’s lead and Sheriff Dewey, accompanied by the occasional input from his dear sunshine.
God, what a mess. Jack really hoped he would have had more time.
A little longer for the elements to pick apart that thorn in his side before someone found what remained. He chose that trail because hardly anyone would hike it, but luck wasn’t on his side today it seemed.
To make matters worse—so, so much worse —luck wasn’t on his sunshine’s side either. Poor thing was still beside themselves, and even still the pigs dragged them back down that path to help them locate the body!
Bitterly, Jack rolled his eyes.
Protect and serve, my ass!
But don’t tell the kids he thought that.
Would Y/N leave the camp?
God, please no.
Steph left when she found Trevor crushed under the firewood pile.
Maybe this was the last straw for Y/N.
Part of Jack couldn’t blame them if that were the case, but another part would be hysterical if they did end up going home.
The young man bit the inside of his cheek as anxiety wound around his heart like a wire cage.
Soon, he hoped, Dewey would be through with taking Y/N’s statement and then Jack could do what he could to comfort them. Also maybe, hopefully, he could subtly convince them to stay.
Here.
With him.
Together.
Was that selfish? Maybe.
Jack didn’t want to think about it that way. All he wanted was to look out for Y/N, to be their friend—maybe more—, and to make sure they didn’t fall into the wrong crowd.
They were such a wonderful person, so compassionate and genuine! They saw the goodness in everyone, so quick to trust and slow to form a grudge. Jack admired that about Y/N deeply, but he also knew that such a bright light would attract…clingers. Moochers. Bad friends.
Bad People.
Bad people like Bobby, who was now being carried off grounds in a body bag.
Leering pervert.
Now you have no eyes.
Bless his sunshine’s heart, they never seemed to notice the way Bobby’s beady gaze dragged over their lovely form whenever they’d tag along with Jack to run errands in town.
Jack tried to play nice at first, a few dirty looks shot in the slime ball’s direction in hopes to discourage him-
I see you, creep. Knock it off.
-Yet it was all to no avail, and every trip to that station since had only added to Jack’s disdain.
So he had to get creative. It wasn’t hard to forge a note in Y/N’s handwriting—in moments of weakness or boredom he did have a look through their journal every so often—and in bright blue ink he created a lure to leave behind on the front counter of the local gas station:
Meet me on trail  #4. After midnight. ;) -Y/N
Jack couldn’t help but linger—taking his sweet time at the gas pump as he refilled the camp’s jeep—just to see the creep’s reaction.
Bobby was delighted.
The young man could still feel the disgust that washed over him yesterday afternoon.
As if Bobby has a chance with Y/N! Maybe if hell froze over. They are miles–light years even–outta his league. Sunshine could easily do better! He had thought bitterly as he glared at the price display last sunset.
It only added to his resolve: the Bobby Problem would have to be nipped in the bud.
And that’s exactly what Jack did.
Hours before he even left for the station that night, he placed an abandoned trap he had found at the beginning of summer in the underbrush along Trail Four.
Although…he didn’t really remember the fine details of confronting Bobby later in the woods…Even if the memories haunted his dreams.
One moment he was hiding behind a tree on the far end of the path, and the next he was in Bobby’s face. He couldn’t remember what he was saying, all that he could recall was the alarmed expression of the other young man.
But did Jack push him?
The tall man’s head began to ache as he wracked his mind for the missing memory.
If he did, would he even know for sure?
Maybe Bobby tripped, maybe he had help tripping, either way the jaws of the trap snapped shut all the same.
The memories became more clear after that point, Jack was standing still in the darkness, the hum of insects the only thing breaking the heavy silence that followed the sound of metal crushing bone and the pitiful sounds of a dying animal.
Robotically he had searched the gas station attendant’s pockets, taking only the small scrap of paper that could incriminate anyone.
The blue haired man left in the opposite direction Bobby had come from.
Before he went back into his cabin last night, Jack hid himself behind one that remained empty this season. Making quick work of burning the note in the fire pit.
He was careful; Jack knew that for a fact.
Plus the sheriff was getting older, and his department was a bunch of clowns…The young man wasn’t worried about getting caught.
He was just worried that in his haste to get rid of a problem, he had created a whole new one to contend with.
I did this for you, sunshine. I did it all for you. So please, please don’t leave me.
The door to Simon’s office creaked open, the sound abruptly pulling Jack from his thoughts. Expectantly he looked to Y/N, but it only made his heart sink in his chest.
Their eyes were ringed red from crying, expression downcast, almost haunted. Jack looked to the camp lead with concern; Simon’s face was equal parts stressed and empathetic as he gently patted the lifeguard’s shoulder.
“Thank you, Y/N. You’ve been a big help,” The admin’s light colored eyes then glanced over to the tall counselor. “I think they need some peace and quiet for a while…Could you help them back to your cabin, Jack?”
“Of course!” In three big steps he was there to sling an arm around Y/N’s shoulders, both to lead them and remind them of his support. They responded to the gesture with a weak smile, weariness rolling off them in waves. Jack returned the smile with a gentle one, carefully squeezing their arm before guiding them out of Admin and towards their own cabin.
Behind them the two older men began to quietly discuss the ‘accidents’ that keep happening.
Jack chose to ignore them.
Once safely tucked away from the prying eyes of their peers and campers, Y/N slumped heavily onto Jack’s bed. The springs squealed in protest from the action. The blue haired man stood just inside of the doorway, once again gnawing the inside of his cheek as he took in the state of his sunshine.
They were littered with cuts. Scrapes of all sizes running up their arms and legs, in the chaos that followed their…discovery, there was no time for the infirmary.
Well, that won’t do.
Y/N didn’t even look up as Jack wandered over and kneeled to reach under his bunk, retrieving a first aid kit and placing it on the mattress beside them.
“We should clean those up. Infections aren’t fun for anybody,” His tone was lighthearted as he carefully glanced up at their face from his position on the floor in front of them.
After a long pause, Y/N nodded slightly with their expression blank.
“Yanno,” Jack started again, successfully keeping his unease out of his voice. “I can take care of them for you. It’s no problem, I know you’re tired…You’ve had a long day, and it’s not even noon!” He chuckled, yet it sounded hollow, even to him.
Y/N only nodded again and slowly offered a battered arm out to their companion.
Sighing slowly through his nose, Jack fought a frown as he opened the first aid kit and set to work.
The quiet that followed was at least peaceful, broken only by Jack quietly murmuring an apology whenever Y/N winced from the rubbing alcohol that cleaned their wounds. A handful of Band Aids later, and they were patched up good as new.
The counselor considered offering to kiss their bandages, but now really wasn’t the time for half-jokes.
Carefully he rose from the floor and sat down beside them, gently placing his hand over their own. “You don’t have to say anything if you’re not ready to, Y/N. I’m just…sorry,” He cleared his throat, a lump felt like it was trying to creep its way in, darn it. “I’m so sorry you had to see that. If you need to go home, everyone…everyone would get it. It’s okay. I’d...miss you of course…a lot, but I totally understand if-"
The lifeguard suddenly shook their head with a small frown. “-I’m not leaving,”
“What?” Jack’s voice was soft, but he didn’t dare let too much of his hope show just yet.
“I don’t want to leave. It wouldn’t do any good; wouldn't fix anything really. What would my parents say? They’d probably call me a quitter.”
“…Even after you found a-"
“-There’s a reason why I came here instead of getting a job back home for the summer.” Their voice cracked at the end of their sentence, shoulders going tense for a moment before slowly relaxing again.
The tall man's brows furrowed slightly, he sighed once more and scooted closer to the lifeguard.
“Oh sunshine…”
Jack knew Y/N had a…complicated relationship with their folks, but they never really went into much detail other than saying how high their exceptions for their child were.
But it’s times like this that Jack wondered what the full story was.
His sunshine always seemed so jolly and carefree with him, but of course everyone had their own secrets, and unfortunately Jack couldn’t read their mind. No matter badly he wished he could.
Unsure of what to do, Jack simply asked them gently: “Is there anything I can do to help?”
The lifeguard brows furrowed in thought, and after a moment Jack watched as they blinked away tears that were threatening to form. Their voice sounded fragile while they turned to face him directly.
“Could…I have a hug maybe, if that’s okay?”
Oh…oh goodness.
How could one person be so adorable? Jack has asked himself such a question nearly everyday since he’s met Y/N.
He bit back an adoring coo—the last thing he wanted was for Y/N to think he was teasing them—and opened his arms to offer an embrace. The shorter person leaned forward with a sad sigh, wrapping their own arms around him snugly. Jack rested his cheek on top of their head with a small hum.
Having his sunshine so close was easily one of his favorite feelings.
Jack found himself slowly rubbing circles into their back as Y/N tried, and failed, to hold back a few more tears and a quiet sob.
“It…it was so bad, Jack,”
“At least it’s gone now, right?” He tried to reassure them with mixed results.
“Yeah…but it’s gonna be so hard to forget. It’s like it’s burned into my mind! God, why did I go down that trail?!” Voice cracking from emotion, they buried their face into his neck.
If the circumstances were different, Jack would be overjoyed from them snuggling up to him. However hearing them cry like this was making his heart hurt too much for any butterflies to trouble his stomach.
“Shh, I know, sunshine…I know. Everything's gonna be okay, I promise.”
Something akin to guilt was eating at him, frowning he held Y/N just a little tighter.
Jack should be more careful…if not for his own sake, then theirs. After all, his sunshine was the very last person that he wanted to see hurt.

80s camp AU Jack would 100% use the fact the kids like to gossip about him & Y/N to his advantage. Examples include
One kid who asked Y/N what they liked best about Jack and, instead of deflecting, he adds fuel to the fire saying "I'm pretty interested in the answer myself sunshine.".
Also yeah he refers to them as that alot and the kids ABSOLUTELY make a whole thing of it.
Keeps a drawing a younger girl made of the two of them framed in their shared room.
May have definitely instigated several of the rumors.
Any of them ask if they're dating? He'll just say the two are "special friends" or something like that. And he 100% knows how they'll interpret that.
If Y/N questions him about any of it he'll just say "It's all harmless fun for them. We all gossiped at that age.".

(if you are uncomfortable with writing spicy content no worries :^3 ) Buuut-how would 80s camp AU!Jack react to Y/N talking in their sleep? Say they’re having a rather lewd dream about a certain roomie of theirs? 👀
Now Jack is a firm believer of getting to sleep at a reasonable hour so under normal circumstances he wouldn't be up past midnight.
Unfortunately he had to sneak off after his sunshine fell asleep to handle a minor. . . inconvenience.
Once he gets back to his room he's not really surprised to see they're tossing around a little 'probably having a good dream' he thinks.
'Maybe it wouldn't hurt to stay awake a little longer.' he did like to watch them sleep.
It starts with them letting out an embarrassed whine & burying their face in their pillow.
He also notes their ears seem flushed which piques his interest from where he lies in his own bed.
"Ngh not here. ." their voice came out more breathy this time and, when their head lols over he puts the pieces together.
Flushed face, embarrassed expression, breathy whines and the way their legs seem to clench together under the thin blanket.
'Oh they're having THAT kind of dream.'
To say he was thoroughly invested was an understatement. After all this is the first time they've had a dream like this.
'I also need to make sure it's not about somebody else here.'
So he continues to watch as their breathing gets heavier and their face morphs into the most delightfully lewd expressions.
As for Jack he definitely found this to be a turn on.
One of their hands fists in the pillow as their head arches back, the other grasping at mattress beneath them.
The next words come out as a quiet moan and he swears his brain short circuts "fuck. . jack".
And just like he's hard as a rock.
'Now that's a very pleasant surprise' he muses.
He opts to wait until they've settled down to go off somewhere to tend to his now aching dick.
'After all i wouldn't want to risk waking them up.'
He also wouldn't dream of doing anything to them in their sleep without their consent.
So he waits while they continue to twist, sigh & let out near incoherent murmurs before finally settling down after a short while.
'I can't wait to see those reactions from them while they're awake.'.
Once he's sure they're all settled down he decides to head off to tend to his excitement.
Though not before walking over to place a soft kiss on their forehead "I love you so much my sunshine.:
The next day it's guaranteed he'll be more touchy & prone to teasing than usual.
Especially since, if their flushed cheeks & inability to look directly at him is anything to go by, it seems like they remember their dream from last night.

Another idea for the 80s Summer Camp AU:
In between cycles of campers a bunch of the staff head out to one of the local bars over in town to blow off steam (with some either murmuring among themselves about the weird “bad luck” around camp, or others being a tad more grim: Taking bets on who’s next or theorizing that maybe they weren’t accidents after all *cue horror movie music*) Meanwhile Y/N wanted to hang with their lifeguard buddies at the bar, but of course Jack insisted on tagging along, half-joking about being their babysitter for the evening. Later that night and more than a few drinks later, Y/N is getting emotional as Jack is practically carrying them back to camp all: “You’re my best friend, you know that, Jack? I don’t have very many people that I can count on, so I’m glad I got to meet you.” Just showering that big blue haired dork with praise and even blurting out “I love you, man!” A few times…But naturally they wake up the next morning super hungover with zero memory of being super sappy to their best roomie; however Jack seems like he’s on cloud nine so they think to themselves ‘Well, hopefully I didn’t embarrass myself too badly then 😬’
Gotta love the d tried & true trope of "person not remembering bein a sappy mess". Gonna work up some quick HCs for this.
Tumblr media
It's not unusual for Jack to tag along with people when they head to the bar to act as a babysitter of sorts.
Not that he doesn't enjoy hanging out with everyone, he absolutely does, but he's known to not be much of a drinker despite his high tolerance.
And most everyone sees him as a reliable fun guy to have around.
So of course his Sunshine going out only gives him that much more reason to tag along.
Gil doesn't mind him tagging along as much as he usually would since having an extra set of eyes on everyone would be helpful, especially considering 1 or 2 of them might need to be carried back.
Jack can't help but love how Y/N gets more cuddly and affectionate as the night wears on.
Atttempting to scoop him into big hugs and proclaim he's one of their favorite people ever and a hell of a roomie.
Very much believe in "a drunk person's words are a sober person's thoughts", at least as far as this situation is concerned.
When it's time to call it quits he's already scooping them up to carry them back.
They'd been clinging to him for support for the last half hour so he knew they wouldn't be able to walk.
On the way back their talk mostly consists of nonsensical ramblings that he's content to smile & nod to.
That is until they hit him with "I'm really glad i met ya Jack. I don't have much luck with people but you're easily the nicest most reliable guy I've ever met. So handsome to~.".
He'd be lying if he said his cheeks didn't flush as he let out a laugh.
"Aww thank you so much sunshine I'm glad i met you to, you're really important to me.".
Rest of the walk back is spent with him singing their praises and coaxing more sweet nothings from their inebriated mind.
By the time they get back to their room Y/N is out cold and Jack feels like he's on cloud nine.
He's still riding that high the next morning when he brings them a glass of water, pills and some eggs from breakfast to help with their hangover.
Not wanting to embarass them he'll keep the particulars of what they said/did to himself.
Though he's not above lightly teasing them about being an affectionate drunk.

Here’s an idea if you don’t mind :^3 : but the camp consolers and older campers having a horror movie night, and so of course here’s Jack doing the ol’ yawn while wrapping an arm around Y/N’s shoulders, along with whispering that if they get scared he’s right there. Y/N laughs it off; bc what else do you do when you think your hot friend is flirting with you as an inside joke? After the movie and lights out though; they’re a lil freaked out by the movie and ask Jack if they could share a bunk..
Y/N is a little surprised by just how hyped Jack is for the upcoming horror movie night considering he seems like more of a comedy guy. Then again he doesn't seem the type to really dislike any particular genre so it's not that odd. Plus the older kids are excited for the double feature so that probably contributes to it.
What was more surprising was he wouldn't tell them what movies were playing, since the counselors are the ones who chose them. "Sorry sunshine you'll just have to be surprised." he'll say with a playful wink. None of the others will tell them either which Jack is happy about.
He'd hate for an unexpected accident to put a damper on the occasion after all.
So they don't realize until the night of that the movies in question are the type of scary movies that freak them out the most. All Jack offers in response is an innocent shrug of his shoulders as the two take seats more twords the back of the viewing area.
Part way through the first movie they just barely hear him yawn before wrapping an arm around their shoulders. When he reassures them he's there for them they laugh off the obviously cheesy move as their friends attempt to settle their nerves.
Jack knows it's cheesy, just like he knows these movies would get at theur nerves. He's the one who suggested the two in the furst place.
By the time the second one finishes & the campers are sent back to their respective bunk houses Y/N is thoroughly freaked out. Which is probably why they weren't as embarrassed over asking Jack to skeep in his bed as they ought to be.
Sure they're friends but it's not lost on them how attractive he is or that he likes to flirt with them alot. But as previously stated they're pretty freaked out so that trumps any other nerves.
Thankfully he has mercy on them and keeps his teasing limited to a simple "Of course sunshine I'm here for whatever you need. Keeping fictional movie monsters at bay included." which earns him a pout accompanied by a playful elbow to the ribs.
Once the two had finished with their respective nightly routines Y/N foundthemselves held snugly against his chest. They weren't surprised by him telling a few jokes in an attempt to calm their nerves, they were surprised by how unnecessary they ended up being.
Laying there against his chest with one hand carding through their hair just felt right. Despite the more intimate setting it felt warm, safe & natural for them like they had always done so. When his other hand begins to lightly trace shapes in their back they wonder if it'd be ok to do this on their more restless nights, in the interest of getting sleep of course.
They also wonder, as they drift off, if the kids little rumors actually have some merit to them. People do say kids are good judges of character & i couldn't hurt to test the waters a bit, they're sure Jack wouldn't mind.
What they don't know is just how little he would mind. How every action he takes with them, no matter how genuine he is, is done to draw them closer. To cement himself as the only oerson they'll ever truly need.
They also don't know that this isn't the first time he's gotten cuddly to help them stave off potential nightmares. But he doesn't plan on telling them that part, he wouldn't wanna embarrass his sunshine to much.

But also 👀💦 Jack “just being a team player, Sunshine~💙💛” by helping Lifeguard Y/N put away the canoes after sunset one warm, summer night and then things get hot and heavy in the lake house ;))
He doesn't even ask if they need the help before hefting one up onto the storage racks. They don't even question him about it since Jack is always finding ways to help them out. Plus getting canoes on the top racks can be tricky so they gladly accept the help.
Before long they've got the last one loaded into the lake house. They're so focused fixing it into place on the rack they don't notice him closing the door.
When they turn around to thank him for the help his arms wrap around their waist with his face nuzzling into their neck. Whispered praises of how hard they work and how incredible they are leave his lips in between kisses peppered up their neck.
They manage to squeck out how this is inappropriate & that someone could see them as he backs them against a wall, effectively caging them in.
"It's alright." he assures nipping at the skin just below their ear. The kids are all in their bunks and the rest of the staff are to busy with their own duties to notice their absence. All the while his hands start roaming, one skipping under their shirt and the other rubbing at their hip.
"Besides there's nothing wrong with feeling good and that's all i want, for you to feel good." they swear it's like the devil is whispering in their ear with how tempting he sounds. When one hand dips past the waistband of their underwear and he swallows their surprised gasp with his mouth they decide he must be right.
This is Jack who's only ever been a kind, supportive and sunny presence in their life. Jack who just wants what's best for them. Jack who's currently making their head feel fuzzy and has heat rising in their core.
So they let him continue how he sees fit giving him full control. After all it's not like he has ulterior motives, right?
(NOTE: I'm a lil outta practice with writing spice so please forgive me 🤣).

SDJ 80s Camp AU Headcanons (pt.1)
In which Jack is a counselor & Y/N is the new lifeguard.
Y/N gets to the camp about 2 weeks before the campers are set to arrive to learn all the ins & outs. And who should be assigned to help them get started but the resident ray of sunlight.
Jack is more or less enamored with them since day one. They have kind caring presence so how can he not, plus he finds them absolutely gorgeous.
Y/N's first impression of him is that he's kind of like an overgrown golden retriever positively bursting with positivity and enthusiasm.
He makes sure to use the next two weeks to learn everything he can about them & get in their good graces.
Also, since staff members share rooms, he arranges for them to be roomies.
"It makes perfect sense." he says when he tells them "better to room with a friend than a total stranger right?". They can't argue with his logic so BAM they're roommate's with the nice, energetic & admittedly handsome man.
By the time camp starts it's obvious to most of the other staff members how fond of them he is, though with a few recent incidents that's not their focus.
The first was when a kitchen staff member just up & vanished along with their things which wasn't to bad, until their body is found in the early winter anyway.
The second was when one counselor tripped & fell down a rocky hillside while hiking. He survived but has a long recovery to do in the hospital.
Lucky for him Jack was nearby to help.
The fact that former had hit on Y/N before disappearing & the latter just got a lil to chummy is purely coincidence.
Of course the kids like to gossip about them. Either believing the two are already dating or definitely like like eachother.
Jack of course does the opposite of refuting these rumors "Y/N and i are special best friends but that's all I'll say.".
Y/N doesn't have it in them to put the rumors to rest, especially when one of the younger little girls gifts the two a drawing she made of them.
Said drawing gets framed by Jack & put in their shared room.
"It doesn't have to be just a rumor you know." he'll say voice full of his usual pep with added sincerity each morning.
And while they'll usually laugh it off as another corny joke of his they do admittedly think about it more often as time goes by.
He's kind to them, helpful, sweet, funny even if his jokes can be corny & most everyone loves him especially the kids.
Not to mention how supportive he is when the odd accident or disappearance happens.

Consider: 80s Summer Camp Sunny Day Jack AU! (I have a Mighty Need for Jack in a crop top and short shorts 👀) Jack is a counselor ofc, while Y/N is the newly hired lifeguard for the camp’s lake shore. Jack seems like a harmless simp at first, but then people start turning up dead like an stereotypical 80s flick; while Jack is always conveniently by his sunshine’s side to comfort them after another coworker has an “accident” lmaoo idk, thoughts? :3
Yes, yes and more yes anon. Also Jack in that outfit would be 👌.
His actions are innocent enough at first. Introducing himself enthusiastically their first day there. Offering a tour around the place despite them already receiving one from another staff member, his would be much more fun he promises. And talking about what the kids like to do. All the while asking them all sorts of questions about themselves wanting to know EVERYTHING they liked.
Sure he may come off as a little to upbeat but Y/N just chalks it up to his line of work. Plus all the kids adore him & his coworkers trust him so they think nothing of it.
All that in mind he quickly establishes himself as a trusted friend and confidant, that's when things start changing.
A minor disagreement with another staff member? He'll insist to Y/N they're not to blame & not to spare their colleague another thought. An acquaintance getting a little to chummy? Suddenly all they'll hear from Jack is how they're "not good enough" or how they "don't have your best interests at heart.". The same things happen when someone makes the mistake of flirting, with one big difference.
That's when bodies start dropping.
First there was the "hunting accident" about a mile down the road. Then there was the poor fellow who "stepped in front of a speeding truck" after lights out. The worst was the "animal attack" that happened on the other side of the lake, camp almost shut down after that one.
And each time he's there with an arm wrapped around their shoulders insisting that everything is alright. That he's there for them and isn't going anywhere.
"It's for the best." he'll whisper as they're dozing off. And he means it wholeheartedly, after all
He's all they'll ever need.
HE'LL MAKE SURE OF IT.

got any spare nsfw SDJ 80s Camp AU headcanons? 👀
Anon I've got so so many nsfw facts it's not even funny. Both about Hack & Y/N as well as other AU characters. 🤣
Jack has had a few sexual relationships prior to Y/N whereas they're a virgin.
Thanks to Gavin Y/N obtains god tier oral skills. No those two don't screw around the just read magazines & he gives them advice.
If you can think of a location on camp grounds at least one couple has gotten frisky there.
Pretty much every couple has fucked around in the pantry & if Gil says he & Gav haven't he's a fucking liar. 🤣
Craziest locations each couple had sex. 👀
Jack & Y/N? In Simon's office.
Gil & Gav? Canoe in the middle of the lake.
Kimmy & Debbie? In the camp jeep while running errends.
Mike & Gale? On top of the rock climbing wall.
Liam & Sasha? In the walk in freezer.
Speaking of Sasha man has absolutely no fucking shame.
Gil walked in on him & Liam in the pantry once and he acted so nonchalant, just a little disappointed his blowjob got interrupted.
Jack and Y/N also like sex in the woods a little ways off from one of the hiking traila.
They never get caught but people will comment on hearing noises.

Honestly i'd love to hear more about the 80s summer camp au for sunny day jack if you have anything more to share 👀
Oh anon i have LOADS more to share about 80s camp AU ☺. Here's assorted info with an emphasis on some of the lovely babes of the AU 💕. If you ever wanna hear more about it from another perspective you can also ask @fun-times-in-glitt3rh3ll since this AU is a co conspiracy 😈.
Tumblr media
Ok first things first a quick rundown of the other lifeguards.
So the other lifeguards are Gil, Gavin, Mike, Debbie & Kimmy.
Gil is mr serious pants & the head lifeguard, also a bit of a shorty.
Gavin is a chill surfer dude & kind of a stoner, also Gilly's boyfriend 😊💕.
Mike is a mischievous goof who had a crush on Y/N for a hot minute but let it go.
Debbie is a calm hippie flower child.
Kimmy is her short gf who is ready to throw hands if needed.
The lifeguards are seen as the "cool kids" from the outside but in reality they're all just a bunch of good hearted lovable dorks 🤣.
So Gavin & Y/N are basically like twins, the two just vibe with eachother straight out of the gate.
When he realizes just how sheltered they are he makes ut his mission to educate them on all sorts of fun & mischievous things.
When he first learned they'd never been high he swaps out the regular weed for "the good stuff".
He & Y/N also have a longstanding appointment every other Friday where they'll read relationship magazines & take the quizzes in em.
Complete with snacks & a good blunt of course 😏.
He also gives them saucey advice about what to do with Jack 😘.
"If ya move your tongue they way they say in this article here he'll go fuckin nuts.".
"Really? 😳".
"Yeah Gilly fuckin loves it 😎.".
Gil will roll his eyes at their antics but he loves the two goofballs & all his lifeguards.
Soeakin of Gil Jack refers to him as his best buddy.
Tall mr sunshine & rainbows & short mr.grumpy serious pants make quite a pair 🤣.
Gil will say he finds Jack's personality exhausting but he wouldn't want him any different.
He will however make it known how EXHAUSTING he finds his seemingly unending pining for Y/N.
"When are you gonna grow a pair and tell them you like them already? 😏".
"Hehehe not sure what you're talkin about buddy 😅.".
Seriously it's so obvious the two like eachother the other staff even have a betting pool of when their first date will be.
Heck some of 'em think they're already dating but just aren't telling anyone.
I've seriously got TONS more i could say so please feel free to asl for more info on this lovely AU.

I'm absolutely in love with your 80s camp counselor au for sunny day jack!! I was wondering what Jack would do for work when the summer camp isn't open? Or would he be a college student??
Ok so me & @glitt3rh3ll have talked at length about this AU you guys have no idea 🤣.
So when camp isn't in session Jack actually works as a substitute teacher, workin in a bit of canon from the TV show clown man hails from 😉. He's already graduated & is a few years older than Y/N.
Buuuut he does 100% become a house husband after the two are married with kids 😊.
