It’s okay, I was nervous too! I think it depends a lot on your doctor and situation. Like how many you’re getting out, what they’re doing right now and what kind of anesthetic you’ll be under, etc. 

Like for me, I had all four removed. My top right was already out and well fit, but the other three were still sub-dermal and my two bottom ones were impacted, which just means that they were sideways. I think if they’re growing in correctly and already out of your gums you’re eligible for extraction with only a local anesthetic. If they’re still inside like mine they’ll probably put you under with an iv and remove them surgically. 

I went in, got a quick xray, they hooked me up to like 4 different things while I just sat there working up a stress rash. Luckily my doctor was super chill! He explained I wouldn’t feel anything but the iv prick and they’d bring me out as soon as they were finished. After the iv was in I passed out almost immediately, woke up a little later, dreamless, feeling nothing and barely groggy at all. I was just a little off balance getting to the car, came home and went right back to sleep, I was lucky to be in my mom’s care. Afterwards was pretty sore. I’ve been eating soup and mashed potatoes and pudding, held some ice to my face while marathoning Castle. I have like 4 different kinds of meds to deal with, one of which had me a little nauseous until I ate some more food but I haven’t been able to get back to sleep since. Keeping the gauze in my mouth to stop the bleeding is annoying but I think it’s almost done. I’m still only in day one though so anything can happen.

So far I think my nerves were just the worst for me, but they say everyone is different. I hope your experience goes well and that you have someone nice taking care of you. Good luck!
