We marched, we spoke out on social media and we persevered.

Today, in a giant step for economic justice, the Supreme Court, in a unanimous vote, declared that the pork barrel system as unconstitutional.

You and 15,660 other signers online of the #MillionPeopleMarch petition on Change.org, and the 85,700 signers of the MPM petition sheets, played a key role in raising the level of public awareness on the pork barrel system.

The SC did not just strike down the Priority Development Assistance Fund or legislative pork; it also declared as unconstitutional fiscal powers exercised on special funds by the Chief Executive beyond "respective special purposes."

The High Court ruling validates the three main calls of the MPM petition:

1) Scrap all pork

2) Prosecute all parties that have abused pork, regardless of administration or political affiliation; and

3) Account for all spent pork

The SC decision directs "all prosecutorial organs of the government to, within bounds of reasonable dispatch, investigate and accordingly prosecute all government officials and/or private individuals for criminal offenses" linked to abuse of PDAF.

It also stressed that "access to official documents already available and of public record which are not related to these funds must, however, not be prohibited but merely subjected to the custodian’s reasonable regulations or any valid statutory prohibition on the same."

Our fight against pork has, at times, seemed extremely difficult, as we faced the most powerful men and women in our land. But because we believed in the cause and worked together to pursue our goal, today we are given proof that yes, we can change things for the better.

Hindi pa tapos ang laban but I hope the victory strengthens our sense of empowerment and encourages all of us to cast an eye on the big and small problems we face as citizens, ask ourselves what other changes do we want and then act on this.

May mga nagsasabi na kung may naisip kang solusyon sa problema ng bansa, gawin mo na. Madami naman ang nakakaisip ng mga solusyon para sa mga suliranin natin, ang problema sa ganitong argumento, nahihikayat nito na magkanya-kanya tayo ng pagkilos, nalilihis tayo sa ideya na kaya may gobyerno ay para doon pag-usapan ang mga suliranin at solusyon para sama-sama, may koordinasyon ang pagkilos at nagagamit ng wasto ang pondo ng bayan. Tingnan nyo si Efren Penaflorida, hanggang ngayon kelangan pa rin magtulak ng kariton klasrum matapos makilala at makatanggap ng mga papuri, dahil kahit may nakita syang solusyon at ginawa na nga niya, kulang pa rin dahil hindi yung ugat ng problema ang natugunan ng solusyon niya, ang kakulangan ng pondo para sa mga eskwelahan, sweldo at benepisyo ng mga guro. Habang nagtutulak sya ng kariton klasrum, nagpapasarap sa kurapsyon ang mga opisyal ng pamahalaan. Kaya, marapat lang na batikusin, punahin at maghain ng alternatibong patakaran sa gobyerno.

August 23, 2013: "Panahon na po upang i-abolish ang PDAF" October 30, 2013: "Ang mungkahi ng ilan, tanggalin na lang. Tanong po: Makatuwiran po ba ito?"

Yung totoo lang? Basta, DAP is UNCONSTITUTIONAL, DAP, PDAF and all kinds of PORK should be SCRAPPED.
