in which tonight’s target is almost too nostalgic, it almost feels like the task is no longer clandestine. except it is, and for selfish reasons he harbours certain hopes that this will work out. adrift are the thoughts that line the seams of his youth, hollowed by certain someone’s departure even when he insisted on proffering the shelter that the other did not have back then. seeing the reports from the private investigator hired, it also seems that nowadays, this specific someone also hasn’t altered his fate either, but seoyoon digresses. he believes that this is an opportunity for the both of them to coalesce again, with him providing jungshik with what he deserves. or so he believes, if this truly goes through. for that, he’s waited for the night to slither, the late hours more befitting for the mission to be carried out.
he’s the mastermind behind the schemes, after all. however, this time it’s almost paradoxical. he has a feeling that he doesn’t need one to face jungshik. an old friend... if he could even call them such— tonight’s incisor is to sink deep enough into the flesh of this reverie: one that he’s been entertaining since years and years ago, of the boy that crashed in his house, on his couch. this does not seem like an alternative for him, naught if not a promise towards himself. thus, finding jungshik again within the inception’s radar leaves him a rather pleasant surprise, and this moment, as he scans the café jungshik often frequents, he locates the broad shoulders slouched on the long table facing the street. the full-length glass window offers them a sense of solace, and as he sinks into the seat next to jungshik’s, he doesn’t look at the now all grown-up boy. instead, he looks straight towards the cars passing them by, the pace almost sluggish to his liking. “tonight is... kind of slow, isn’t it? he asks, still not facing jungshik. he wonders if jungshik still remembers him after over a decade.
