IF TWO ONES MAKE TWO AND TWO TWOS MAKE FOUR WHAT'S TO DO WHEN TWO TWOS WON'T MAKE FOUR ANYMORE?
--------
"It's 11 PM, I'm just going to do a sketch for this idea" <- the words of a liar who then spent 30 minutes borderline painting a Creaturified verison of the LOGICIAN from scp
I will make fucking ANYTHING a dragon if you let me, even a formless multiuniversal semiontological bureaucratohazard
Tempted to also post this over on the wiki. God I need an art page for all my miscellaneous stuff like this <- still needs to make a damn author page god someone yell at me to do that
#scp#scp-integer#logician#dino's art#this was fun though I had fun#I love painting The Horrors its my favorite thing#i love to make things CREATURES. BEASTS EVEN#pov you are mcdoctrate and you just spoke the true name of a nameless horror

I was surprised when I found out Placeholder McDoctorate is called that because his name was stolen by THE NAMELESS KIN OF THE WOODS BEYOND THE WORLDS cause my personal headcanon had always been that he was incomplete character that an SCP-001-SWANN entity had injected into the narrative before they'd even bothered to settle on a name for him

Placeholder McDoctorate vs Luca Armaros
(Placeholder art by @dino--draws, Luca art by Sailorenoch, aka @nekofaust)
Character information and poll below!
Placeholder McDoctorate
Former Site-15 Director, got his name abstracted by a fae god called the LOGICIAN, now a pataphysicist who’s having a great time (arguably). He’s very passionate and excited and energetic and loves to ramble. Builds eigenmachines. Has a Rubik’s cube collection. One of them is fucked up. He is energetic, eccentric, and passionate. ADHD coded. There’s many different versions of him across the multiverse
Articles:
SCP-INTEGER
SCP-6416
The Archytypicals series (Start with PLACEHOLDER )
ADMONITION
Luca Armaros
Living subtext and Site-19's Literary Sciences Specialist. A 'holy' hermeneutic hunter at the gates of knowledge, Luca is one of few researchers to actually read fiction. Meri's uncle and her only well-adjusted male Guardian. Has "preening is an act of love" on a sticky note on his monitor. (Description taken from Eventyr hub)
Articles:
SCP-8166
The Hard-To-Define Reptile

hai moss im curious. what are your favorite scps. :3
mine are pretty basic (049, 999, etc) but I also like 6448 (the not deer) & 783 (the crooked man)!! i haven't been able to check out the less well known scps but i will someday
YES!! i have a lot to say about this wait let me pull something up i made a list
SCP-7000 “The Loser” (https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-7000) and anything and everything related to william wallace wettle — horrible pathetic wet cat of a man. the world hates him personally and the feeling is mutual. cannot have ONE nice day without something going wrong. by god he deserves a break and he won’t get one. canonically divorced (to the extent that canon is a Thing). there are other articles with him but 7000 is the perfect showcase of the bullshit surrounding this man
SCP-6326 “The Manbear” (https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-6326) — absolutely fucking hilarious. looks like a generic spooky scp article at first but just scroll down to the first picture and you’ll see what i mean. it’s just punch after punch and it left me IN TEARS laughing. someone calls the manbear hung at some point.
SCP-7243 “Existential Abatement” (https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-7243) — insanely good but probably relies quite a bit on you already being familiar with the characters present; you can read about them at https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/on-guard-43-hub (particularly SCP-5056, SCP-5243, and The Significant Others A & B) if you want but be warned there’s A LOT there. also has a lot of what i can only call bullshit sci-fi jargon (affectionate) and it’s great but i uh see why it might be off-putting if you’re not used to it
SCP-INTEGER (https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-5242) — there’s a guy named Dr. Placeholder McDoctrate in there. do i need to say more.
ANYTHING Undervegas (https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/undervegas-hub) — agent calendar my beloved. site-666 my beloved. it’s all great. based on the idea of vegas falling into literal actual hell. the director of the site keeps using everyone’s souls as collateral on bets with demons. if you need a starting point i recommend SCP-4661 but any article works
honestly literally anything with the O5 Council, doesn’t even have to be a specific version of them. see https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/o5-command-dossier for more info. off the top of my head one i really liked is captain kirby’s 001 proposal “O5-13” (https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/captain-kirby-s-proposal) but i am INSANE about all of them. i have my own personal OC interpretations of the council and i have been rotating them in my mind for six months straight. they started as a silly thought experiment but have turned into actual fully-fledged Characters and i am sad that they only exist in my brain :(
SCP-7600 “Six Feet Under” (https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-7600) — it’s been a while since i read this one so i don’t remember ALL the details but it’s about two O5s (4 & 8) and a magic realm. made me Feel Things
OKAY THATS ALL i could dig up more but i’m sleepy and i think this is a pretty good overview. ty for asking!!! :D

SCP that I forgot the number of
SCP initially about an endless city with an uncountable but ultimately irrelevant population, whose final iteration is actually an entity housed in a comatose researcher's (?) body – throughline is that a man made a deal to revive his son (with terrible, Taboo-typical results) with the thing which isn't (?) SCP-INTEGER but Dr. Placeholder did interact with (?)

People who enjoy SCP: what's your favourite SCP entry that's not one of the big, really well known ones? It doesn't have to be the scariest or most world-threatening, just a personal favourite.
Mine is SCP-1313, a mathematical equation which solves to produce an adult female grizzly bear. Some of the phrasing in the entry makes me smile every time, including:
"...grizzly bears exist within the set of all real numbers, and are not prime. The square root of a grizzly bear is prime, however, and is the only prime number that a) is not a cardinal number, b) is neither even nor odd, and c) contains an animal component. The implications that the root of a bear is an integer, and therefore that bears themselves exist on an ordinary number-line, are currently being investigated by Prof. Hutchinson."
Honourable mention also to SCP-4290.
#SCP#scp foundation#as a general rule I like the self-contained articles#not a huge fan of the recurring characters or meta-commentary#(that being said there are 100% exceptions to that and I enjoy a good amount of the Tales too)

been thinking about reality.
there’s something fascinating to me about things in stories discovering and affecting the very fabric of their reality; comic characters who literally push at the bounds of their meager existence, book characters who come to realize and break down over the fact that them and everything they know is naught but ink on paper which has been turned into thought in a mind.
there’s a lot of this on the scp wiki; articles about things that by their nature alter how they are discussed and documented. scp-integer. i am a toaster. cognitohazards and semiohazards and things that just shouldn’t exist.
when you take this up a level into our reality, you often get stories with eldritch horrors the very sight of which melts human minds. i am reminded of that one post of how true eldritch incomprehensibility is not something so ugly you can’t stand it, but an ant briefly being given sapience, a scant taste of how humans think and feel and exist, only for it to be ripped away, the ant grappling with an understanding of the world that is simply too much for their brain’s makeup to handle.
as it stands in real life, our understanding of reality is, to put it simply, mere worldbuilding. quarks and energy and dark matter and time. that we can understand this says to me that we haven’t found the true framework of our existence yet.
i wonder what will happen when we do.

rant time woohoo (you have brought this upon yourself, for the better or the worse)
even before the 1.2 billion mark, you could see the time between addenda increase exponentially. Just two years in and Hiddleston is starting to resort to using more substances, and two years is already a long time (random elehitch plug, this is how long i theorize the doppelgängers were stuck in that elevator, and look how they turned out :3). Skip to 5 years, and he's just... wandering. He's already used up the main sources of stimuli he's provided to its best, all the amenities and the other 'human' beings. It takes two more years for him to start something new: cooking. A hobby that could suffice for a lifetime. More than double the amount of time he's spent on the island, he's nearly mastered the art without needing text books or outside sources of information in general (a positive thing, since it makes him take longer). More than double again, going strong yet he's beginning to become bored.
Double that time again, he's gotten bored of the craft. He starts something new: construction.
The hobby is harder and takes up much more time than cooking; only when nearly a millennium had passed, he reaches equilibrium of that art.
2,000 years, he's desperate for ways to stay sane.
5,000 years, he starts ripping up his hard work.
11,000 years, he resorts to violence on others and himself.
He gets numb to the concept of violence nearing 20,000.
6 times that, 124,000 years and beyond, he keeps on finding ways to kill himself over and over again, as he heals slower and slower, years reaching the millions.
Past that, the addenda show the barest actions he tries, looking at the sun and trying to leave again. By this point, it's obvious that he's tried everything. He could've (and likely already) mastered other arts, like painting, writing, farming, swimming, but what's the point of that when it will, at some point in time, become obsolete in helping you maintain your sanity?
Exponentially, as the numbers increase, the closer he gets to nothingness. It's an inverse relationship. Less and less things can and will happen. There is barely anything he can even do anymore, and as time passes, 'barely' will turn into 'nothing.' Even the smallest of things wouldn't be able to do anything. Not even daydreams and fantasies created by the mind would suffice.
A whole trillion years, and he stops moving. The closest one can get to death in a world where it doesn't exist is apathy. Apathy to yourself, to others, to your environment, to everything. It's the best way to cope, but it's not a solution.
5x10^28! years. 5, twenty-eight zeros, factorial. Multiply all integers inside 50 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 with each other, that's how many years Hiddleston has been in this 'paradise.'
"All potential permutations of particles within SCP-7179 have been theoretically reached."
Everything, any situation possible within this hell, whatever you can think of, has already happened. Every, single, one, of, them. Has he tried backflipping thrice from a palm tree into the sea? It happened. Has he tried baking an apple pie in exactly 16 minutes and 38 seconds? It's happened. Has he made your moms secret family recipe, intentionally or not, five times? It happened.
10^100! years later, I repeat, an entire googol factorialized, a second of eternity has passed. Hiddleston is still there. He always will be.
A second of eternity, but it's not. An eternity is still an eternity. Infinite. 10^10100!!! aeons later, you'll still be here. Not even 1/6 of a googolplexian of a millisecond of an eternity has even passed, nor will it ever pass.
Any number, no matter how large or humanly incomprehensible, is still nothing when compared with the face of infinity.
Ok something I love about the SCP-7179 addendum is the fact that after the 1,200,000,000 years mark the spaces in between each mention of what Hiddleston increases more and more. Representing the nothingness, boredom, and lack of any new stimuli that 7179 gives after prolonged time there.
#scp#scp 3515#rant#i typed this out right after dinner#and before going to sleep#so im a bit eepy#apeirophobia#well#at least the fear is a#good motivation to keep living#and not die#and discover wth the afterlife has to offer#cw suicide#cw self harm#this skip makes me go absolutely crazy#i've never even stepped foot in it and i already have a head start on insanity#btw#this deosnt even mention the fact that#to the foundation#and the rest of the world#all that time#was just#a few days or smth#a small amount of time#when an eternity will pass in baseline reality#how much time would have passed in the afterlife?#plot hole that i need to mention: hiddleston's memory#he could forget things and re experience them#over and over#but tbf

second biggest pet peeve in scp is when articles have clearance messed up. scp-integer is SPECIFICALLY known only to like 3 people, so why do some site 87 guys who clearly dont understand it know about it in many last words. why is scp-6811 clearance level 1 unrestricted when it describes in detail how incompetent o5 command and the administrator are.

Re: blorbo night
Hereby sending you one legally-binding permit to talk about Placeholder. Whether it's a single trivia point or a whole wall of text, whatever you feel is right, whatever you want to say, I wanna hear it. Talk about your weirdo on main <- this is an order
so i had a ramble about placeholder several months ago, my points still stand to this day but there's one(1) new article of (the character, or AA) of him (thank you harryblank for the blorbo content even if it was for the author's birthday 😭😭😭) since im fascinated by his existence in february id like to take this opportunity to further explain why i would like to put him(or them as a collective) under the microscope:
also the birthday article ramble can be found in here.
1. there's a visible effort to differentiate between placeholders in the multiverse via subtle yet stark depictions of personality.
starting with Words of Power and Poison & ARCHETYPICALS placeholder (for my fingers' sake im calling him og43 placeholder), he may be vey well versed in several branches of parasciences, but not so much in social interactions. sometimes he comes off as blunt, inpatient(there's at least 3 instances of him fuming because hes frustrated at explaining) and occupied in his thoughts and interests(pataphysics cough cough and hes aware of it). sure, he does seem to know all, but the way he was written is never irritating to the readers, attributing to the flaws as a normal human being. also he cant compete with wettle but he sure has loser swag.
ADMONITION placeholder (phmd) who came in a darker WoPaP timeline, is different. he's still a smartass, but compared to the og43 counterpart, he holds more discourse power in meetings, and as a fellow phmd enjoyer has pointed out he's pretty good at manipulating people into achieving his goals, even if he's in the wrong, maybe because hes like in the director/specialist level in this canon and naturally has more power and confidence. plus he does shady things in almost all admo entries so im curious how this would play out in future articles.
Abbie... she's more hysterical, perhaps because of the anomaly, desperate to prevent an inevitable catastrophe that would affect her timeline. she also occasionally shows off, kinda reminds me of lillian in that fashion.
unfortunately ive not much to say about the HMCL supervisor cause INTEGER hasnt happened yet and he serves as a side character/ plot driver in this scp.
but i appreciate theres an effort of keeping them all somewhat different from one another.
2. the reason why hes a mipy rather than a babygirl in my opinion
his drip is awful.
yeah thats about my ramble of the month thank you max :)
