I've always had a love for the weird and stuff that people would start to question if it was socially acceptable to like it. For a few examples, demonology and angel hierarchy, The Anderson Factory (SCP-001) and James Anderson himself, Ralph (I think?) from that Life Eater game, and Nimdok from I Have No Mouth, And I Must Scream. I'm tired of people criticizing others for what they like. "Oh YoU LiKe A n@Zi ChArAcTeR! BaD!" One, he's fictional. Two, he literally regretted everything he did and changed for the better in the game. Three, most people like AM, the damn AI who murdered all of humanity and tortures the remaining five survivors by doing things that are much, much more terrible than what a human can do. Besides, the other few I like are horrible people, yes, but all I have is a slight fascination. A fascination that is the "That's horrible. I wonder what could make a person think like this?" way. I ain't changing nothing about what characters I like because it's not "socially acceptable." Society screws all of us over.

VIEWING OF DEPARTMENT OF THE IMPOSSIBLE FILE APPROVED
.
Created by Dr. Stefansdottir back in [data expunged by order of the O5 Council] to use her powers to contain anomalies that the Foundation could not contain by any other currently possible means. However, some of you may be wondering if that is the case then why doesn't she just contain everything? Dr. Stefansdottir's power is nearly infinite in growth, but that growth takes time so she can't currently do everything right now. As such the priority of the DI is to focus ONLY on the Impossible. Is it an anomaly that's difficult to contain and keeps killing Foundation staff and MTF units? Not our problem! An anomaly that can be contained but keeps breaking out? You're out of luck! But if it's a consciousness that slowly disintegrating all of existence, the unavoidable corruption of the sun, or even the Gods themselves, then you can count on the Department of the Impossible. Because that's all we concern ourselves with, the Impossible; nothing more, nothing less.
Previous Requests:
SCP-001: The Black Moon - APPROVED - Killed it... not that hard really.
SCP-001: When Day Breaks - APPROVED - Can't kill it for obvious reasons but put a metaphysical bubble around it. Still active but can't corrupt people's bodies and souls anymore. Looking at it, you can't even tell the difference, really. But looking at it still hurts your eyes, so you know... don't do that.
SCP-001: The Factory - REJECTED - Technically it can be destroyed so not really impossible. We’re the Department of the Impossible remember? If it's not impossible we don’t deal with it. Even Gods can be killed sometimes.
SCP-001: [the] [HUMAN!] [element?] - APPROVED - Killed RED Immediately. Bashed it into pieces then erased its existence. Probably could have just erased it but this was more satisfying. Was worried about ORANGE at first, but then SCP-ANO started eating them so... Whatever, I guess.
SCP-001: The Scarlet King - APPROVED - Can’t really kill him so we just got rid of the anomalous effect where he gets stronger and closer to our reality the more people know about him and how dangerous he is. He's still plenty strong and gets stronger through chaos but I'm sure we'll be able to kill him once he finds a way to get here... Okay I know people don't like it when I say WHEN and not IF but come on! We all know he's going to enter our reality sooner or later; I doubt there's anyone that doesn't know about the prophecy of all the Groups of Interest in the world joining together to stop the Scarlet King. Stop being such babies okay! The prophecy even stated he was going to lose! ... I think.
SCP-001: The Gate Guardian - REJECTED - Why do you wanna get rid of him? Leave him alone! He hasn’t done anything wrong. Just because I’m atheist doesn’t mean I hate the guy. He’s actually a sweetheart once you get to know him. Not that he normally talks to anyone besides other gods, but you know what I mean.
SCP-682: Hard-to-Destroy Reptile - REJECTED - Read the damn Code Name. It's HARD TO DESTROY, not Impossible, HARD! Sorry, but if it's not impossible to achieve then it's not our problem.
SCP-2521: IT/STOLE/US/A-/ - APPROVED - Placed it into a box it can never get out of. So, feel free to talk about it all you want.
SCP-3632: Nibirdu - APPROVED - Turned it into a marble, sometimes we like to flick it around for fun. But yeah, it doesn't cause that Scraw thing anymore so don't worry about that.
SCP-5000: Why? - APPROVED - [data expunged by order of the O5 Council] ... So yeah... I mean it's kinda gross but honestly it could be worse. Personally, don’t see why It convinced the entire SCP Foundation from a different reality to kill everyone. But then again, our O5 decided to create Project God's Hand and Satan's Pitchfork so I guess we're not really that much better, are we?
SCP-6000: The Serpent, the Moose, and the Wanderer's Library - APPROVED - Put it in Site-GARDEN, I like to use it as a personal library. Also, as an [data expunged by order of O5 Council] which I know sounds weird but it's actually pretty comfortable.
SCP-6500: Inevitable - APPROVED - Didn't destroy it, but instead [data expunged by order of O5 Council], if nothing else it can be used as a [data expunged by order of O5 Council]. I don't know just spit balling.
SCP-AER: Why Everyone at the Foundation Hates Tomatoes - APPROVED - Fine I'll get rid of it but I'm recording it the entire time. That shit was funny!
SCP-AFA: The Gojira Plague - APPROVED - Heh, of course I'll contain it for you guys but that means I get to do any experiment I want. Hope you guys don't mind having my sloppy seconds... okay given the context that's sounds wrong, so forget I just said that.
SCP: AFC: Ms. Frizzle and her School Bus - APROVED REJECTED - *licking a lolipop* ... Yeah you guys should give up on trying to contain her.
SCP-AGG: The Black Fruit of the Black Flower - APPROVED - Ugh fuck! Ugh... I'm okay, I'm okay, just that bitch really doesn't want us fucking with her plans. She nearly fucking killed all of us just because we stop her form planting a few flowers. Hope the boss is alright, I mean she normally is but, I've never seen her bleed like that before. Oh, but side note, we uh... We couldn't really get ALL of them, so yeah there's a possibility now and in the future, there are still plenty of traitors in the Foundation. Just keep that in mind, yall.
SCP-AGK: The Witch Nanny - REJECTED - Yeah that's not happening. First, why do you want to get rid of a witch that's actively teaching bad children to be better people? Second, I probably shouldn't say this but [data expunged by order of the O5 Council], so yeah, it kinda goes without saying but, HELL NO!
SCP-AIR: Urotsuki, Guardian within the Unknown - APPROVED - ... It's done, but mark my words. You ever ask us to do something like that again I WILL RIP YOU APART ATOM BY ATOM AND ENSURE YOUR SOUL KNOWS NOTHING BUT PAIN FOR ALL ETERNITY.
SCP-AKX: The Realm of Holidays - APPROVED - Alright! Alright! Just know a lot of people are going to get pissed off so don't come crying to us if this ends up biting you bastards in the ass.
SCP-ANO: THE IRIS - REJECTED - Not killing it until the O5 gives the okay. Guess they're still mad we got rid of so many SCP-001's. Wanna prove they can still do stuff without us... Bunch of babies. Though I have to say it is cruel they got everyone thinking its unbeatable monster. Well, whatever, if push comes to shove, I can just take matters into my own hands. Heh, what can they do about that anyways?
SCP-AGO: The Distortion - APPROVED - [Data Expunged by order of the O5 Council.]
SCP-AZX: Zalgo - APPROVED - Oh! Little Baby Zalgo finally decided to join the big leagues. It kinda sucks to have to break the little baby's heart but oh well. I'll be sure to keep a sample just in case I wanna do an experiment. Oh and don't worry I'll get rid of that thing where [data expunged by order of the O5 Council] when you say his name. Eugh, actually I probably would have done that anyways.

And with today's episode, featuring Bradley Moore and @phinnsy, we have concluded the first "season" of The Database. Special thanks to our patrons for helping us get to this point!
We've had the idea for this episode rattling around our head since early 2020, and it's kind of surreal to finally get it out there. We'll now be taking some time off to plan, before we return in March with SCP-100 and more stories from the SCP Foundation.
Thanks for listening!

173 Influential SCPs
I went to SCPper, found the most upvoted articles by users who've made at least one SCP, and sorted by time. These aren't necessarily the 173 best articles on the site, but I think they're likely to be the most influential. Longtime fans have probably read most or all of these but maybe this could be a starting point for newcomers.
I think sorting by time is important because the Foundation's been around almost 17 years. Writers come and go, trends come and go, new writers are influenced by what came before, and later articles are often longer and more complex than earlier ones. Just sorting by most upvoted bounces you around time; on the main wiki you read mostly series 1 articles then get dunked into SCP-5000. I hope this is a more natural progression, and that by the end people have more context for what's going on.
Using upvotes from writers only is important because the more writers like an article, the more likely later SCPs are to be influenced by it, so those articles are more likely to be important for understanding the wiki as a whole.
I might do an alternate version of this list that replaces the extremely long articles with shorter SCPs.
If you have trouble understanding one of the articles (some of the later ones get LONG), look it up on r/SCPDeclassified. If you would prefer audio narration/explanations, The Exploring Series and TheVolgun are both excellent. And of course, make sure to look in the sidebar on the wiki for guides, lists and explanations.

I may be tripping, but in TRH, I seem to remember you mentioning that Reid might an instance, or just straight up SCP-001 (I could totally be making things up.) Is she some kind of off branching of 001, an instance of it, or is she some kind of reality bender? It seems like earlier in the chapters you brought in SCP-001 "The Factory", so is she connected to that? (I mean all the SCP's are connected in that proposal but y'know what I mean.) Sorry if this doesn't make sense I'm just passionate about this.
It makes perfect sense! And you're correct, Leahy thought Reid might be an "instance" of SCP-049. Which just means she's related to his anomalous properties in some way, such as his doctor's bag or the zombies he creates.
But Leahy was mistaken, she's an SCP-001. And to make more things confusing, there are many different SCP-001s, and only the O5 Council knows which are fake and which are real, if any of them ARE real or fake.
I haven't specified which SCP-001 she is yet, but it is one that already exists in the SCP universe, I didn't create it. Some people have figured it out already, but I won't spoil it yet ;) We may find out in October when I post the new chapters

Btw major tom aint made by the author so its not confirmed cannon that adam and evelyn are abuse, ffs yall just want to make them seem more evil, yes theire negligent since sarah was born they had no choice but to use tj to heal her but they were in mourning
First reaction:
Tumblr media
Now onto the actual essay, research and resources. Jump towards the bottom at the General Conclusion if you wish to skip the entire essay:
Part 1: The concept of Canon in SCP
The fundamentals to the SCP fandom is that there is NO canon in SCP. This has been stated over and over by the authors, wiki staff, content creators and even fans of the SCP wiki. Some prominent figures of high standing who agreed to this and had contributed to the wiki and the fandom on a large scale itself are Dr.Sherman from Site-42 and Author Raddhager- writer and creator of the Find Us Alive podcast.
SCP Canon is fluid. Period. There is no "One Truth Above All". Articles, tales, series and canons had time and time again, constantly contradict each other because everything is based on the authors' interpretation and canon- which, surprise, the authors are in fact the consumers itself.
Such incidents of contradiction can be seen in the multiple canons, the existence of the few dozens of SCP-001s and every other article that follows its canon (Factory and its lore, Daybreak and its lore, etc) and even who are on the O5 council.
If we're going on the logic of "Everything written in an article is canon", then let me propose a question. What if two articles using the same character/SCiP are contradictory towards each other? Does it mean that one article is "canon" and the other is "a headcanon"?
And this isn't a thought or a what-if situation because this has actually happened in multiple SCP articles. One I can bring up is literally the article for SCP-963.
In SCP-963, the amulet containing Dr.Bright is confirmed and tested to be indestructible. Yet in SCP-6170, an anomalous incident has caused the amulet to crack (and fucking up Dr.Bright in the process). This isn't the first incident where 963 is damage or Bright dies. In the tale for Yesterday in the Resurrection Canon (re: CANON), Clef "kills" Bright by sending the amulet towards the sun. The arguement of "it's a tale" doesn't work here as well because in SCP-6170, an SCP article, 963 begans showing cracks upon the death of the anomaly (6170)- which should be impossible if "SCP-963 is indestructible". Also the argument that 6170 affecting all anomalies in general so 963 being affected isn't wrong can't be brought up cause in many cases, 963 has been pretty much an item that doesn't follow reality's rules
Part 2: The Bright Family, lore and Author Bright. Trigger warning for this part for rape, incest, pedophilia, racism and ableism
The actual canon of the Bright family written by the author is really fucked up and if you wanna kiss their ass and make that canon, be my guest but keep in mind that the Bright family is canonically incestual, openly support rape, pedophiliac and ableist.
I won't go much about all that but @canorrus made a pretty good post collecting all the parts here. [a big tw of rape, incest, pedophilia, racism and ableism before you click the link.]
Anyways if you are standing on the hill where canon can only be confirmed by author bright that means you are in full support of the canon that the bright family is incestual, rape-positive, pedophiliac and ableist. These aren't my rules love, they're yours <3
Also I don't know how to tell you, having YOUR LIVING SON who can heal people heal your DEAD DAUGHTER is fucked up. TJ's anomaly comes in the form of absorbing their injuries and making it his. Are you telling me that the risk of TJ absorbing Sarah's DEATH to revive Sarah is a form of love? Are you telling me that Adam Bright, in his grief of losing his daughter, making the decision to sacrifice ONE LIVING CHILD to bring back a CHILD WHO NEVER LIVED, is not fucked up?
I don't know how to put it in words to tell you that sacrificing a living child to bring back a dead child is not fuck up and grief and mourning doesn't excuse literally hurting a child <3
You wanna know what choice they had towards Sarah's death? NOT USE THEIR OTHER SON TO RAISE THE DEAD.
Part 3: The topic of abuse with Adam and Evelyn Bright. As such, big TW on Abuse
According to Google, abuse refers to "cruel and violent treatment of a person or animal." There's roughly 11 types of abuse towards children which are:
Bullying and cyberbullying
Child sexual explotation
Child trafficking
Criminal exploitation and gangs
Domestic Abuse
Emotional Abuse
Female genital mutilation
Grooming
Neglect
Non-recent abuse
Online Abuse
Physical Abuse
Sexual Abuse
As you can see form the list that I've gotten here, then you can clearly see that Neglect is a form of abuse. Therefore, putting two and two together would make Adam and Evelyn canonically abusive if they had committed neglect towards their 4 children prior to Sarah's birth.
This isn't a thing the fandom came up with, smartass. This is an actual fact that they are abusive
Abuse comes in many different ways and just because Adam and Evelyn don't hit their kids, they still fucked them up severely. Abuse is abuse. There is no "neglect isn't that bad".
If it weren't "that bad", it wouldn't be on the fucking list, genius.
My thoughts:
First of all, so what if we want to make Adam and Evelyn more evil? There is nothing wrong with that in a fandom that has no canon (refer to Part 1). Everything is up to interpretation and if you're being a pissbaby about a majority of the fandom agreeing that Evelyn and Adam Bright are shitty parents, then maybe don't interact with them.
Don't like? Don't interact. If you don't like my canons and interpretations of the Bright family, then kindly please remove your presence from my blog before I do it for you. The block button is right there. Stop shitting on my canons, interpretations and headcanons.
Also like, if you're like "Nothing is canon unless the author of that character makes it canon" then SCP is not the right fandom for you because again, please refer to Part 1 of this entire essay to get it through your thick skull that EVERYTHING and NOTHING is canon and it's up to readers' and writers' interpretation.
SCP and the wiki uses the creative commons license. That means everyone is free to use, distribute, remixed and BUILD ON what is posted in the site and surprise surpsrise, the Bright family were. Don't get your knickers in a twist because what people had build on isn't what you wanted or expected, love.
Oh, one more thing, just because they're mourning doesn't give them an excuse of using their son to bring back their dead daughter. Yes, grief absolutely changes and causes people to act irrationally but at the end of the day, you are still using a paying a living, breathing child to bring back a stillborn, dead daughter. I apologise for the cold and rough wording but I want to be absolutely clear and straightforward with this situation.
General conclusion/tl;dr
Firstly, SCP Canon has never been canon and it belongs to the people and how people interpret it. Canon is cherry picked and nothing is certain.
In addition, canon Bright family is fucked up thanks to the author and if you deem only what Author Bright write as canon, you need to self reflect on some of your personal values and critical thinking.
Plus, Neglect is still abuse. Therefore, Adam and Evelyn are abusive.
Lastly, SCP runs on a creative commons license so everyone's interpretation is valid. Respect other peoples' interpretation and canons and if you don't like it, move on.

🔥 did i send SCP for this last time as well i can't remember but if so m o r
unpopular opinion [ACCEPTING]
i cant express enough how bored i am of Big Apollyon World Ending Creepypasta Looking Ass SCPs like. i like the scarlet king as much as the next guy, but theres a reason the og ones are remembered so fondly other than nostalgia. they're simple, they have one gimmick and it works!!! now every odd one is either a 001 proposal or something that can 100% kill and destroy everything, dr bright and 682 included, and that's. annoying
also sidenote but i think that if your SCP is an event that ends the world that's not a SCP, that's an event. like i love 5000's lore and i can talk about the world gone beautiful and the day breaks for DAYS but they're not good SCP!!! if they said that the specific flower that appears during the world gone beautiful was the anomaly because they studied it in another timeline like the one in 2935 or 1678 i would be okay with it, but. damn. making it a 001?? im a 001 wondertainment / factory truther, but i think that literally just the spiral path works 50000000 times better than the black moon

001 Proposals, Part I
Jonathon Ball’s Proposal - Sheaf of Paper
Kinda meh. The idea that the first SCP is just a report on all future SCPs/some kind of warning system/somehow creating the rest of the SCPs seems kind of tame, honestly? I acknowledge that not all SCPs have to be big terrifying things, and indeed the horror often comes more from the containment needed rather than the item itself, but this one just feels too on the nose.
4/10
Dr. Gears’ Proposal - The Prototype
Another kind of meh entry. This one, at least, actually does things, but again, it feels fairly tame in comparison to other, less “significant” entries. I’m only two proposals in, but I reject the idea that SCP-001 needs to be some big, scary, significant thing. Even my current favorite proposal (The Factory) is cooler as a general piece of fiction than as an idea for a super scary thing that’s the source of all other SCPs in some way. I think I prefer the idea that SCPs are numbered in order, rather than listed in any sort of “ranked” manner.
5/10
Dr. Clef’s Proposal - The Gate Guardian
I’m torn on this one. In general, I don’t like when fiction tries to incorporate various real world mythologies (in this case, the Abrahamic faiths), because it always ends up feeling weird and power scale-y. The idea that there’s a literal Angel of the LORD guarding the literal Garden of Eden is kind of silly when you also have eldritch terrors and whatever SCP-682 is supposed to be. But don’t worry – the Foundation has banned all attempts to use this version of 001 as a means of disposal of dangerous SCPs, so we don’t have to worry about the idea of “who would win: 682 or a literal angel?” Again, it’s a cool idea, but I don’t think I really like it as an SCP.
5/10
qntm’s Proposal - The Lock
My favorite 001 proposal so far (discounting The Factory, which I read years ago and still adore). I like that it doesn’t really appear to have any real world basis; googling “Apakht” just leads me back to SCP related stuff. I also really like that this one doesn’t seem to be a big, world-ending artifact, at least on the surface (it does seem to be trapping some sort of eldritch god, after all). It’s just a weird rock sphere, produced in a time and place that it should have been impossible, and that happens to also be weirdly warm and slightly radioactive. In other words, it’s exactly what I feel SCP-001 should be: just another SCP.
7/10
Bright’s Proposal - The Factory
I love this one, for a few reasons. Firstly, it fits my idea of what SCP-001 works best as: it’s the first one. Is it creepy and nefarious and probably up to something? Yes. But it’s not some big evil world ending thing. It’s just a factory, made by a madman, to do evil with. I’ll grant that this is personal bias (but then, the whole project is my personal rankings), but I like SCPs that are man made and just…evil. It’s a cool vibe for me. I also like that this one is a tale and not a standard SCP report. This is, again, personal preference, but it gives it a less sterile feel than some of the others have had so far. Also, I like how it ties into other parts of the larger lore of the SCPverse. All told, this is my favorite one so far, and has been my favorite 001 proposal for a number of years.
10/10

okay for context, there is no canonical scp-001. like. none. it doesn't exist. we know the first scp ever made by meta standards (173 iirc) but we do not know the first scp ever made in the scp universe. we don't know what scp-001 is. there is an infinite number of scp-001s. some say it's a factory that made/makes scps, some say it's god, some say it's lucifer, but we don't know. there has been debate about scp-001 since basically the sites creation. there is no scp-001. this isn't a meta "oh we could never know what scp-001 is haha ^_^" joke. there is, in the most literal way possible, no scp-001. this has been a topic of debate for going on almost a decade now. this has literally caused so much fucking discourse in the scp community it's deranged. anyway personally i think scp-001 is the gate gaurdian specifically because its funny to think the scp foundation straight up has a whole ass angel on their property that just kills people sometimes for getting close to it
oh my god wait. did i ever talk about the scp-1 proposals on here
