(Please note, I’m not actually doing this in reality. That would be bad — very bad. It’s a game called Call Of Duty.)

How did I get here? I hadn’t owned a games console since the late 90s, but an old friend decided to bring me on board by sending me an X-box One through the post for free. I couldn’t exactly say ‘stuff your X-box, I’m a man of the world now.’ Besides, it gave me time to interact and catch up with old mates from my 64-bit days, while providing a slightly cooler dad impression to my son. Apex was first on the menu. It certainly grabbed my attention with all that skydiving and epic soundtrack malarkey; a far cry from Fortnite’s cartoon nonsense. Playing Fortnite with my son felt like I was losing brain cells to Timmy Mallett’s hammer. Apex, on the other hand, felt like Fortnite for the Gentleman (and ladies, if you will). (No pumpkin heads or banana skin outfits here.)

So, yeah, I was digging it until I received heavy criticism from a mate for my sheer lack in downing the enemy. I guess I wasn’t taking it seriously enough. Sure, I tried my best and got the occasional kill from time to time, but this clearly wasn’t up to standard. I should have seen it coming. He would get super angry when he died. Phrases, such as ‘this game ruins my f***ing happiness’ would hit the airwaves. (If this sounds like you, it might be worth looking towards other gaming ventures.)

It’s not that I didn’t try to improve, it’s that the time between respawns was way too long for me. I’d get sniped from afar, only to wait for the best part of half an hour on my team possibly bringing me back. Not the type to enjoy purely spectating, I said my goodbyes to Wattson and Bloodhound — gaining some GigaBytes back in return.

Boy, did I need them for what was to come…

My first look at this first-person shooter as a newbie did make me feel a bit overwhelmed — the options upon options. Could my brain commit to this amount of data? No, not yet. I started out with the single-player campaign mode, ignoring all of the multiplayer shenanigans. For now, I would be content with listening to the CPU and not being judged for launching a rocket into the local high street store.

As I gained some confidence over that weekend, I invited my son to start a multiplayer with me. I was ready. Or so I thought. I got my ass whooped on several occasions with absolutely no kills to speak of. Yet, I kept with it and slowly started to improve, gathering my XP and climbing the ranks. The reason? I think the varying degrees of punchy level timings and respawns kept me engaged. On top of that, the different types of level from Capture the Flag to Kill Confirmed and Hardpoint — along with weapon and character customisation, kept me engrossed.

Sure, there are quite a few hackers who jump on from time to time; shooting you through walls and generally wrecking your chances of killstreak bliss. However, I’ve not experienced this too much, or I’m blissfully unaware.

This certainly isn’t a rant against Apex. I’d maybe still be playing if it wasn’t for my mate’s outrage at my inability to shoot people in the face:(

But I do think that Apex could apply some of the more punchy, dynamic traits which COD does so well. (The Apex Christmas Train level last year was fun, yet temporary and not quite quick enough between respawns.)

As for Fortnite, I’ve spent a small fortune on my son’s battle passes and ridiculous outfits to his… and only his… utter delight. Apparently, he’s going to be a millionaire gamer and show the world that prancing around in a shark suit is the only way to go.

والجدير بالذكر إنه منذ فترة لاحظ العديد من اللاعبون إنفجار قطع ال Mechs حيث تقوم بالإنفجار من تلقاء نفسها عندما يقوم اللاعب باستدعائها وتنفجر ذاتيًا،

ولكن إتضح في النهاية إن قطع ال Mechs هي عبارة عن فيروس يدعى Scoundrel وهو من يتسبب بكل تلك المشاكل

بعد أن قامت الشركة بهذا التوضيح إطمئن اللاعبين بهذا الخبر حيث كانت تعتبر من أفشل الإضافات التي قامت شركة Epic  بتقديمها في خلال الموسم الماضي،

ويتحدث البعض أن المقصود من هذا الفيروس أن يقوم اللاعبين بإنقاذ الآليين م��ه

وسيتم إصدار الموسم الجديد من لعبة فورتنايت يوم 13 أكتوبر على جميع المنصات

تعتبر لعبة Fortnite من الألعاب الاستراتيجية المشهورة التي يسعي اللاعبون من خلالها تكوين فرق

ويتعاون الفريق من أجل الدفاع والهجوم والتى تعتبر تقاطع بين لعبة ماينكرافت ولعبة left 4 dead

حيث يتعاون 4 لاعبين من أجل إنهاء المهام المختلف��وتظهر تلك المهام على الخريطة ويتم إنشاء تلك المهمام عشوائيًا،

وظيفة تلك المهام هي جمع الموارد من أجل بناء التحصينات و الدفاعات من أجل محاربة العاصفة وحماية الناجين
