Hi! I just read your latest fic (love it btw) but i'm just wondering about the letters bit and when they use Jake to my Sadie? What is it a reference to? I've never heard it before im just curious :)

jake and sadie is a reference to one of my favourite stephen king books 11/22/63!!! there's a lot of king scattered in the fic (he's all consuming in my life rn) - i'm pretty sure i reference the shining in there (carrie is coming in ch. 2 and i think the stand as well?) because i've decided to force unto squib albus my love of horror lol.

but yes - jake and sadie are the main romance in 11/22/63, which is one of the best books in existence. they're just a wonderfully written couple and their last scene is soul-crushing and if you know anything of the plot of 11/22/63 you'll kind of know that jake and sadie are drawn to each other in all universes even if they really shouldn't be and i just took that dynamic and ran with it for a throwaway squib/wizard reference :)

(10/10 recommend everyone reads this book!!!!! even if you dont like king i am convinced everyone can love 11/22/63)

#scorpius is jake and albus is sadie #because even though jake is kinda the outer one being the time traveller and what not #sadie is the one that is truly displaced.... because she gets dragged into this saving kennedy thing and is confronted with the reality #of something that shouldn't feasibly exist #and albus is forced to face magic if he wants to be with scorpius #in the same way sadie is forced to face the time travelling and all the modern lingo if she is to be with jake #basically i am inserting myself into this fic because i love stephen king #i fully intend on having albus critique the shining (movie) to scorpius at some point even if it contributes NOTHING to the plot
