Mona: There will come a moment when you have the chance to do the right thing.
Scaramouche: I love those moments. I like to wave to them as they pass by.
Mona: Please, I know you're better than that.

I had this idea. Your stories are incredible, and I am a big fan.
Mona is trying to cast a spell using a magical to help them after being cornered by abyss monsters.
“It doesn’t work!” Mona yelled.
“Give me that!” Scaramouche shouted.
“Be careful touching that magic artifact.”
Mona accidentally put an astrology spell on Scaramouche and her. Mona and Scaramouche end up being in the bodies of their older selves 17 years into the future.
They wake up in the same bed.
“What do you mean we’re not married; we don’t have kids,” they retorted.
The little boy who looked a lot like them, pointed at family photos. There was a picture of Scaramouche and Mona getting married. There was a picture of Scaramouche celebrating the little boy’s first birthday. There was a picture of Mona and Scaramouche holding the little boy.
I'll stop if it's too much... requests.
Glimpse into the Future | Final Part
Summary: In the heat of battle against abyssal creatures, Scaramouche and Mona activate a mysterious artifact, transporting them into an unfamiliar reality. They awaken in a cozy home, married with a six-year-old son. Bewildered, they must navigate this surreal new world, grappling with the implications of a life they don’t remember living. As they uncover details of their future selves, their skepticism softens, and they begin to question whether this life is a mistake—or a glimpse of something they might want.

[Part 1] | [Part 2]

The battlefield was chaos—twisted forms of abyssal creatures swarmed in every direction, cutting off their escape. Scaramouche and Mona stood back-to-back, battered but unyielding as the monsters closed in. Sweat dripped down Mona’s temple as she frantically flipped through her spellbook, her voice trembling with frustration.
“It doesn’t work!” she shouted, her hands glowing faintly as she tried to channel her magic through an ancient artifact—a crystalline orb etched with intricate star charts.
“Give me that!” Scaramouche barked, snatching the orb from her hands. His grip was firm but uncertain as he turned the artifact over, studying its shimmering surface.
“Be careful touching that!” Mona snapped, lunging to grab it back. “You don’t even know how magic artifacts—”
Before she could finish her sentence, a surge of light exploded from the orb. It enveloped them in a blinding brilliance, silencing the battlefield as the abyssal monsters seemed to dissolve into nothingness. Mona felt the ground vanish beneath her feet, and the sensation of falling consumed her.
When Mona’s eyes fluttered open, she was disoriented. The softness of the mattress beneath her was a stark contrast to the cold battlefield she remembered. She turned her head, only to freeze. Beside her, Scaramouche lay sprawled on his back, his breathing slow and even.
“What—” Mona bolted upright, yanking the blanket up to her chest. “Why are we in the same bed?!”
Scaramouche groaned, rubbing his eyes as he sat up. “What are you yelling about now?” His voice was groggy, and his usual sharp tone was dulled by confusion.
Mona gestured wildly at their surroundings. The room was unfamiliar but homely—a spacious bedroom bathed in morning light. The walls were adorned with framed photographs, the kind that told a story of a life lived together. “Where are we? And why are you here?”
“I don’t know!” Scaramouche snapped, glancing around. His eyes landed on the photos on the wall, and his irritation was replaced by confusion. “Wait… what is this?”
The photos depicted a life neither of them recognized. One showed Scaramouche and Mona standing in wedding attire, gazing at each other with soft smiles. Another showed them holding a newborn in a hospital room, their faces glowing with joy. Yet another showed Scaramouche helping a small boy blow out candles on a birthday cake.
A tug on Mona’s sleeve made her jump. She looked down to see a little boy standing beside the bed, his wide eyes filled with curiosity. His hair was of dark blue, and his features were an unmistakable blend of both her and Scaramouche.
“Mommy, Daddy, are you okay?” the boy asked, clutching a stuffed star plushie.
“Mommy?” Mona repeated, her voice rising an octave. “Daddy?!”
Scaramouche’s expression twisted in disbelief. “What do you mean we’re not married? We don’t have kids!”
The boy tilted his head, clearly puzzled. “But…” He pointed to the photos on the wall. “Look! That’s you and Mommy getting married. And that’s my first birthday. And…” He grabbed another framed picture from the bedside table, holding it up proudly. It showed Mona and Scaramouche sitting on a park bench, the boy nestled between them as they smiled at the camera.
Scaramouche snatched the photo, his hands trembling slightly as he stared at it. “This… this doesn’t make any sense.”
Mona swung her legs off the bed, pacing the room as she tried to steady her racing thoughts. “This has to be some kind of spell… maybe it’s an astrology projection? No, that doesn’t explain the kid!”
“Don’t look at me. You’re the one who cast the spell,” Scaramouche retorted, though his voice lacked its usual venom. He glanced down at his hands, noticing faint scars and calluses that hadn’t been there before. His reflection in the mirror across the room revealed subtle changes—he looked older, more refined, yet strangely… content. It unsettled him.
Mona hesitated, studying her own reflection. Her face bore the same marks of time: slightly more mature, with an elegance she didn’t quite recognize. Her heart raced as she touched her wrist, feeling the faint pulse of magic lingering there.
“The spell,” she murmured, her eyes widening. “It must have sent us into the future—our future.”
The boy climbed onto the bed, looking at them with a mix of concern and impatience. “You’re acting weird,” he said, crossing his arms. “Do you remember my name?”
Mona exchanged a panicked glance with Scaramouche. “Uh…” She racked her brain, her mind blank. “Of course we do… sweetheart.”
The boy pouted. “It’s Aether.”
“Aether,” Scaramouche repeated, his voice softer than Mona had ever heard it. The name rolled off his tongue with an unfamiliar warmth, and for a moment, he seemed lost in thought.
Mona crouched down to the boy’s level, forcing a smile. “Aether… how old are you?”
“I’m six,” he replied proudly, holding up six fingers.
Scaramouche pinched the bridge of his nose, muttering under his breath. “This is insane. We’re not married. We don’t have a kid. How did this even—”
Aether tugged on his sleeve. “Daddy, are we going to the park today? You promised!”
Mona arched an eyebrow at Scaramouche. “Daddy, you promised.”
Scaramouche glared at her, his cheeks tinged pink. “Don’t you start.”
As the morning unfolded, Scaramouche and Mona pieced together fragments of their supposed life in this future timeline. Aether chattered happily about their family routines, his innocent joy cutting through their disbelief.
Scaramouche found himself oddly drawn to the boy, his usual guarded demeanor softening in the child’s presence. Mona, meanwhile, couldn’t help but notice how natural Scaramouche seemed in this role—helping Aether with his shoes, carrying him on his shoulders, even tolerating sticky hands on his freshly pressed shirt.
But beneath their growing affection for Aether was an unspoken question: Could this truly be their fate? And, more importantly… did they want it to be?
