Neil just waking up, eyes wide open.
Neil super worried about Britta and Miles. Wondering if he doomed them.
Poor baby Britta. 馃ズ
Neil desperately spouting words in order to connect to Britta and get her to tell him what he needs.
Britta and Johnny 鉂わ笍 he's always such a supportive dad to her. Wanting her to be angry, feel the power that comes with that instead of fear.
Johnny worried about Miles 馃槒
Wynn flying to Miles' side. Goddamn
Neil just pushing and pushing.
Miles is just straight up LYING!!! 馃槀
I mean I guess it's omitting the truth, but still!
Neil admitting that it might have been a mistake to bring them there and that he's sorry. And saying that he's proud!
And then immediately going into information collecting mode, because of course he has the right to know all of this about them.
You can just tell that Miles is trying to be normal, but he is just a little too normal.
Britta scolding Neil for stealing stuff from her.
"his feelings are hurt but dervedly so" bless him.
Lmaoo Miles' "secret" haven keeps being raided. That's funny.
Britta worrying about Wynn's and Johnny's humanity.
Neil so poorly trying to linger to get alone with Johnny. Lol
Wynn going to Neil to gossip about Miles 馃槀 and then Johnny joining in.
Johnny is so annoyed. I really like it. 馃き
Miles seems so tired and just kind of apathetic.
Lex: he's not being deceptive, he's literally just walking away.
Miles' emotions are just so even. Makes me sad.
Neil instead of being happy he's not seeing the infernalism feeling selfdoubt.
Johnny complimenting Neil!
Neil not wanting a piggyback ride 馃様 you know shit's real when he doesn't want to.
NOOOOOOOO please tell me Lucinde is not calling to her!!!! I beg you!!!
How does everyone know Miles' haven??? Miles is right! He didn't tell anyone.
Don't remind me about Wynn!! On the one hand I'm glad she doesn't have 3 point bloodbond with Miles, but having one with fucking Lucinde is even worse!!!
Neil with a shotgun reminds me of a little kid in their dad's shoes.
Omg the red star. A third the size of the moon??? That is so big!!!
Miles looking through eyes that al not his?? What's happening? Through whose eyes?? What he's looking through Roman Pendragon's eyes what???
Lucita!!!! You're back, my love!!! Midnight blue, baby!!
Fuck you Lex I was convinced you were gonna say Nara when you said Nyx. 馃槶
A gift for Johnny. 馃憖馃憖 They're all getting new stuff. You know shits gonna be bad.
What??? What does this mean???? Nyx what the hell??? You couldn't say a little bit more??? WOW Immune to dementation, and Dominate????
Oooohhhh magical fire axe? And a gauntlet blade? Wow. Wait why did Aisha gift this to Johnny? Are they that close???
There's more???? Ohhh scalemail? Johnny's gonna look like such a fucking badass!!
"Miles I hate to say it" "then don't say it" 馃槀
I'm so sad Wynn is gone though, we hardly had her and Johnny in the episode before the previous one, then none in the previous one and now she's gone again.
Awww Neil explaining how important it is that aisha gave it to Johnny and Johnny sobering up.
But also Johnny going to fake drop it, and Neil just jumping back so scared. 馃槀
Neil having a photo ook for Wynn 馃槶馃槶 that is so sweet but so sad!
Gold circlet for the Prince? Fuck Yes!
Hunters moon. 7 additional willpower? Noice!
They're doing gift giving??? Stop that is too final night. 馃槶馃槶

One Shot
Aged Up Characters
Donnie x FemOc (Hell's Heros AU)
Rated PG 13 (even though there's two F-bombs lol)
Warning: Light angst, lotta fluff.
Post Fall
Notes: This scene was heavily inspired by the scene from Queen Charlotte where she meets George. I also think the song Say Something by A Great Big Wotld and Christina Aguilera fits perfectly with it, hence the title. Id say start the song at the words "Excuse me"
"Hell Tales"
:: Say Something ::
"You look absolutely lovely, Drake." Luciana sat on the chase lounge in the room Drake occupied when she was in Hell, it was mostly decorated in black aside from the massive Alaskan King bed that was covered in white and blue linens. The blue was new.
It had required a great deal of dusting though since they hadn't been in Hell for two mortal realm years which was about sixty six years in Hell time. They had cleaned every nook and cranny and item they could and it looked like someone lived in it again with Drake's clothing tossed over the footboard and Leo's sweatpants accompanying them.
Lux had opted to stay in a guest room while they were here.
She refused to enter the room she had occupied before. He wasn't there. They would never share that room again. She couldn't even look at the doors without feeling a lead weight in the pit of her stomach.
"You really think so? I do love surprising him with his color." Draconia looked over her shoulder at Lux.
Luciana smiled. She wouldn't lie to her best friend. She looked absolutely stunning in the floor length gown of deep royal blue. Darker blue lace accented the dress and ringed the deep slope of the open back where her black wings were, for once, not present, giving a rare view of her back that had been dusted in silver and gold glitter. Silver scalemail appliques draped lazily over her shoulders, secured in place by drooping silver chains down her back and one across her collar bone.
Draconia had unbraided her ebony hair and now it was piled atop her head in a gorgeous messy bun updo with long ringlet curling strands hanging down to frame her face.
Luciana had done her makeup for her in smokey black and a dusting of silver with more glitter accenting her cheekbones and temples. She looked more fairy than demon today.
"Leo better tear up seeing you like that or I'll have to make him." Lux said with a sly smile.
Drake snickered in the mirror but it was short lived as she caught sight of her friend who was now looking out the leaded glass windows with a haunted expression on her face.
"You sure you're okay?" Drake turned from the mirror and approached Luciana who tore her gaze from the outside world.
"Yea. I'm fine."
Drake knew that was a lie. But she also knew not to push her either.
"Okay. If you're sure." She smiled at Lux, who gave her another lazy smile back before she stood up.
"Okay, I'll head to the throne room to wait with everyone else. You really do look amazing. I'm so happy you guys can finally do this. Even if it isn't going to be complete yet." She grasped Draconia's hands in hers and squeezed lightly before passing by her to head for the double doors of the room.
She slipped through them and closed them softly behind her before turning to her left down the corridor.
The left would take her to the throne room.
The right would have taken her to the large outside doors.
She sighed as she walked down the long corridor. Memories wouldn't stay buried as she moved through the castle and she both loved and hated them for it.
There were so many fond memories. So many that should couldn't count them all.
But the emptiness she felt in her chest reminded her that she would never be pulled aside in a dark alcove again to be whispered to in sweet nothings and lovingly caressed by calloused textured hands.
She would never hear his deadpan voice telling his brother or her best friend something they should already know.
She would never see him tapping at that tech gauntlet of his as he walked briskly down a hall.
She stopped putaide the massive carved wooden doors to the throne room.
He wasn't here.
Her brrath hitched and she squeezed her eyes shut to keep from bursting into tears.
She couldn't do this.
Ahe spin around and headed back the way she had come. Quicky. Quicly she moved down corridor after corridor back to the main one the living quarters were in.
Her hands shook as she took quick strides down the hall, passing the black double doors of her old room quickly. Her green eyed gaze flicked to them for only a second before she tore it away and hurried down the hallway.
The air entering her lungs felt thin and she had to take large breaths, otherwise it felt like she wasn't getting enough oxygen.
The tiny pin prickles at the corner of her eyes made those large breaths catch in her throat.
"I can't fucking do this." She croaked out loud as she flung open the large doors to the outside.
She jogged to the edge of the courtyard and stopped.
Her father would feel her leave if she tore The Rift open.
She couldn't do that. She had to open it carefully. But how?
Luciana snarled to herself even as a few stray tears managed to fall. She wiped at them and placed her shaking hands on her hips, tapping her booted foot.
She, along with the other girls, wore releaxed leather armor over long black dresses that were slit up both legs, the edges of which fluttered as she began to pace.
"Excuse me? Do you require assistance of some kind?" A voice from behind her asked. She didn't recognize it, but it also sounded masked.
She turned around and narrowed her eyes at the figure encased in matte black armor, complete with a helmet that sported the mouth of an Oni. They didn't look familiar, though the armor appeared to resemble the new armor she had seen the other Royal Guardsman wearing around the castle. Besides the helmet that is. Even still she couldn't have some random guardsman go blathering about the princess leaving before the ceremony.
"Nothing. You can go back into the palace and wait with all the others there." She turned back to where The Rift would open, looking up again and assessing just how careful she had to be in order to not be detected.
"Well I planned on it....I'm curious though ..What exactly are you doing?" The guardsman asked. Persistent bugger, Lux gritted her teeth and answered without looking over at him.
"Nothing."
"You are clearly doing something." He countered back, much to her annoyance. Her twin copper scaled tails lashed the air to show her displeasure.
"No. I am not." She growled lowly, a warning as she glanced over her shoulder.
"You are." She couldn't see his face but she was sure there was a smug grin under that helmet.
"I am not." She snarled, spinning around this time so she could stomp up to him. He was very tall though and she hated that she had to look up at him. She did so anyway, glaring up at the split colored visor of red and blue that shielded his face from her.
"You are." Even with his disguised voice she could tell his tone was just as smug as she knew his face would be. Damn him! She huffed, backing away, her green eyes betraying her pain as she glanced at the ground.
"If you must know i am trying to ascertain the best way to pass through the Rift without anyone knowing." She told him in a clipped and chilly tone.
"Ah. May I ask why?" Oh now he was being polite? She lifted her lips in a small snarl. Why was he being so insistent on bothering her? She felt her chest tighten as the tears threatened to return. The truth bubbling up of its own accord and cascading off her tongue in a hurried exhalation.
"Because he is not there. He is not there and he never will be." It stung so bad to hear the words out loud.
"Who are we discussing?" His helmeted head tilted sideways and she glared at him, a few tears sliding down her cheeks. She didn't bother to brush them away.
"That is impertinent. None of your business." She spat out before turning back to the edge of the courtyard again, her arms hugging themselves, as if she could keep herself from falling apart if she just held tight enough.
"Hm." She heard him muse from behind her. She tensed slightly when she heard his own booted feet take a half step closer to her.
"I am afraid. I am afraid because I am lost without him. So I must leave." She hissed out through her clenched jaw. He took another step closer, though, it still didn't put him too close to her. He was still far out of reach if she decided to turn around and strangle him for all his questioning.
"Understood. Who is it you are afraid of? You are the princess, correct? Surely you wouldn't be afraid of anyone." He was asking who she was speaking of again. What was this guy playing at? He knew he was below her in ranking. So why was he being so foolish as to test her patience? And yet why was he so easy to speak to? Maybe it was because of that whole...unbiased opinion thing?
"I am afraid of not seeing someone that I know is not here. I am afraid that I will break. I am afraid that what.......why am I even telling you this. Do you wish to help me or not?" Lux turned halfway back to face him.
"You wish for me to help you escape not seeing someone you fear? Even though you believe this person isn't here?" He had his hands clasped behind his back the entire time up until this point. He now brought his arms around to cross over his broad, armored chest.
"Yes that is what I said." She rolled her eyes, her irritation mounting again.
"I have no intention of helpIng you."
Luciana paused and stared at him for several heartbeats, or what would have been heartbeats if her heart hadn't ceased beating as soon as she had entered this realm.
"I am the princess. I am in distress. You refuse to assist your princess in distress?" She asked him, her own head tilting now as she leveled a steely glare at him. How dare this guardsman be so ..so....infuriating?! She could feel her agony being replaced with anger, her eyes beginning to bleed scarlet into the green of her irisies.
"I refuse when the distressed Princess is attempting to escape seeing me. Yes." The guardsman took one more small step towards her but his words had sent a shockwave through her entire body and she took an unsteady step backwards.
"What...." No. There was no way. No possible way for it to be him. And yet......and yet..
The guardsman reached up and pressed at two small buttons on either side of his helmet where it met his throat. The helmet condensed in on itself, like something hi-tech. Like Iron Man's nanotech helmet she had seen when they had had family movie night and watched Infinity War. But this helmet revealed an all too familiar face.
Jade green textured skin, dusky purple geometric facial markings.
Yellow sclera. Dark brown eyes.
A dark purple bandana still covered the upper half of his face. He looked the same ..so much so that she had a small moment, a vision of his face two years ago with scarlet dripping from the corners of his lips, the light slowly fading from his once bright eyes that had shone with so much intelligence and curiosity. They were now calculating and a bit cold but somehow still the same.
"Hello, Luciana." His voice caused a violent shiver to run down her spine and she nearly cried out loud at the familiarity of its cadence.
"You...you died..." She managed to rasp out through her quickly drying lips.
"I did." A simple answer, a small nod of acceptance.
"You went to Heaven. I watched your soul leave your body. I watched it ascend." Her mouth felt as though she had cotton in it, her mind frantically trying to make sense of what it was she was seeing...hearing...feeling.
"It did, yes. I did, yes." He took another step towards her, frowning when she stepped back again.
"You can't be here." She shook her head. Over and over she shook her head. If she shook it enough times maybe the image would fade. Maybe she would stop hallucinating that he was here.
No. It wasn't working.
She reached up and covered her eyes with her hands, her nails biting into the skin of her forehead and scalp.
"But I am here." Don said softly as he tried to step toward her again.
"YOU CANNOT BE! YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE! YOU DON'T BELONG HERE!" She uncovered her eyes which were now streaming with tears as she backed up again, right into the bark of a large wisteria tree, the edge of the garden. A garden he often sat in within the last few weeks, reliving the moments they had shared within it.
"Luciana..." His own voice cracked slightly. This was not going at all how he had hoped. He reached out to her as he slowly approached.
"WHY?! You could have remained in Heaven! You could have been happy! Perhaps reborn! Why?! How are you here?!" She pressed her body into the bark of the tree, her nails tearing at it, golden ichor sprouting up from her fingertips where they became scratched from her desperate attempts to become one with the tree and hopefully escape this nightmare.
"Luciana..." Don tried again, noticing the blood on her hands, he surged forward to stop her but was brought up short as she suddenly was standing toe to toe with him.
"TELL ME!" He flinched at the hoarsness of her raised voice but could do nothing but give her what she wanted.
"I fell..." He told her softly, his hands twitched to touch her, to take her smaller, delicate hands in his and inspect the tiny cuts on her finger tips.
"How.....how did you fall? You had a pure soul! " She shook her head, squeezing her eyes shut.
"It wasn't the state of my soul when I arrived. It was the choice I made while i was there." He sighed, his hands falling back to his sides.
"What?!" Now his own irritation was mounting and he gritted his teeth in an attempt to hold it back.
"I killed an angel." He answered simply.
"What...." Her eyes widened and the scarlet within them faded back to that beautiful green he had thought about from the moment he landed in Hell, bruised and broken from his fall. But her unwillingness to accept that he was here before her was making his patience wane.
"I. Killed. An. Angel. How many different ways do you want me to say it, love. It won't change. I've been spending what feels like fucking eternity gaining back power, my body, so I could be with you again."
"I d-d-didn't kn-know-" Lux stuttered, shaking her head again as he continued on.
"And you fucking stand here and yell at me about how I ended up here?! I've been tortured. I've had limbs torn off. I've been burned. Stabbed. Fucking fileted. All in the name of returning to YOU. And you are trying to run from me?!" He snarled, stepping back into her personal space, towering over her as she hunched to avoid his glare and the now sharp canines that glinted out from his curled lips.
"Shut the fuck up! Stop it!" She snapped, suddenly shoving at his armored plastron but he simply grabbed her wrists and held tight to them, yanking her roughly to him.
"NO!" He growled, mere inches from her face now. He could feel her shaking breaths brush against his skin and he resisted the urge to press his forehead to hers and simply breathe her in.
"I watched you die ...you begged me to break the bond...you left me here without you..." More tears started streaming down her face now and he finally broke his own resolve and released her wrists only to cup her face in both hands and brush away her tears with his black glove covered thumbs.
"I know.... I'm sorry ...You didn't even listen though..." He gave her a small rueful smile and she let out an exasperated laugh mixed with a small sob.
"Since when do I take orders from you?" His smile widened at the snap in her voice and the way her green eyes sparkled in mirth. One of his hands left her cheek to reach down and grasp one of her hands again.
"You were why I remembered....your ward stayed with me...that sliver of the bond you left helped me to feel again...it was ...I didn't remember anything up there..." He watched her eyes widen slightly and then soften and finally, finally, light up with acceptance and a joy so profound he would have dropped to his knees if her hand hadn't reached up to trail her fingers gently over his own cheek. Effectively anchoring him upright.
"You're really here..." She whispered her eyes never leaving his as her other hand joined the first, both laying flat against his cheeks, her fingers splaying to touch more of him. He leaned into her touch, a low vibrating rumble emanating from his plastron, deepened by the armor covering it.
"I'm really here, sugar." He answered after several moments of silence. Of him just soaking up the first real gentle touch he had felt in the last sixty six years he had been in Hell.
Luciana surged upward on the tips of her booted feet, pressing her lips to his in a feverent kiss that had his own breath catching in his throat. He hadn't really been able to understand just how much he missed her. Her voice, her scent, her touch. She was the only one that could touch him these days without him feeling the immediate need to flinch or cause the offending person violence.
He hadn't realized how much he craved the softness of her body pressed to the harder planes of his own, molded to him like living puzzle pieces.
His mate. His wife. His own.
Wetness on his skin caused him to open his eyes just the tiniest bit and pull back only to move back in again and press his forehead to hers as his hands wiped at the tears that were freely sliding down her opaline skin.
"Shh. Shh. It's okay. I'm here now." He whispered to her.
"My love. My life." Every whisper ended with a kiss to her face.
"My Luna. Moon of my life." A kiss to her forehead, to her cheek to her nose.
She continued to sob though. She couldn't help it. Two years of feeling an empty ache in her chest where her soul literally cried out in its own agony. Two years of thinking she would never see him again.
She felt broken. She felt like the world was caving in on her as she slumped into his waiting arms and he lifted her up to carry her into the hidden seclusion of her garden. He sat down with her in the massive grove of peonies that never stopped blooming, and he held her while she let all of her broken pieces spill out so he could begin to help her put them back together again.
"You left us...Donnie...I...we have missed you so much.." he rubbed his cheek against her head, avoiding her curling black ram horns.
"I know. I know. I missed all of you too. Even Leo's annoying jokes." He smiled against her hair, pressing another kiss there.
He felt her stiffen in his arms.
"What is it?" He leaned back so he could see her more fully.
"I'm...not talking about your brothers..not that they didn't miss you...they did of course.." he noticed she was beginning to ramble, a sign of nervousness.
He chuckled but his brows knitted in confusion.
"Who else would you be speaking of?" He asked her, genuinely curious.
Luciana's lip trembled slightly and he frowned.
"Tell me, sugar. What's wrong?" He rubbed a hand up her back as best as he could with the armor she wore blocking him. Internally he growled in frustration with so much of her covered, so he settled for the bare skin of her arm or her cheek.
"I'm...I was.....Oh, Don...." She shook her head before sucking in a deep quivering breath.
"Don.....you're a father. I....I found out eight weeks after..." She trailed off and he could easily finish the sentence. After he had died.
He had died and left her here ...with child...his child. His. Child. Oh, sweet Newton.
"I'm...a...f-f-father?" He stammered out in shock.
"Yes. To the most beautiful baby girl this side of Hell." Luciana said with a sad smile.
"A ....daughter? I ...have a daughter? We have a daughter?" He felt a little lightheaded as he attempted to process this startling information. He hadn't even thought of kids. Not before when he had been alive in the more traditional sense, and not after he fell. He had only thought of returning to Luciana. The rest hadn't mattered. Not then anyeay. Now....
"Yes." Lux lifted a hand to brush her finger tips against his cheek again.
"Where? Where is she!?" He asked her suddenly as he moved to lift her back up and place her on her feet.
"She's here....with my father and your father." She told him. Don looked up at the palace then to her. A silent question in his expression that she never knew how much she would miss. The way she could simply tell what he was thinking or asking in just a look.
"After the ceremony. This is Drake and Leo's day.....do ..do they know yet?" She asked. He shook his head, still silent.
"Well .... let's go so they can properly freak out before the ceremony starts." She said, patting the armor that covered his plastron.
Don looked down at her and really took his time just drinking the sight in. Her wine red and black hair was braided intricately but most of it was left to cascade loosely down her back in soft curls. Her armor and black dress made her appear fierce and he smiled down at her before leaning down to capture her lips once more in a tender kiss that Lux was sure would have had her toes curling had she not been wearing her boots.
"Let's go. Not to rush them but they really need to have their freak out and get this show on the road. I have a daughter to meet." He tugged gently on her hand and pulled her with him as she laughed.
"They are so sorry for inconveniencing you." She teased.
"They should be." He replied back, lifting his snout in the air snootily.
Lux grinned up at him and looped her arm through his as they walked back to the palace to join everyone else in the throne room to watch Drake and Leo's Bonding Ceremony.
She snuck another glance up at him and smiled. She couldn't feel him right now, she couldn't talk to him in her head like before but just seeing him alive and walking arm in arm with her would be enough for now. It had to be enough for now.
